hi all
when iam working with personal information service in ESS .
In this when i have worked with personal id application .In this application when i click on exit button it is opening new window and opening personal information page.
Here my scenario is when i click on exit button the application should close that page and come back to the personal information page.Instead of opening new window.
please share your exp on this

hi all
when i am working with Appraisal document i view which is designed in wdabap application,this is a standard application.the problem here is previously i got an portal run time error,but i resolved this error by changing the system name in properties of the object,
Now when i chk the preview of that i view it is giving an error that THE WEB DYNPRO APPLICATION WAS CALLED UP WITH THE WRONG URL PARAMETER.
can anyone please share their Exp's on this and how to rectify this.

well i hope you have alreayd installed ITS and you are able to see normal ESS services.
To hots any R/3 transaction, you have to define them as a service. please make entry in table t77www_sc: define a service name, define transaction name, and type of service as "S" (check f4 help for type of service, it should be ITS service).
and then add entry in table t77www_ctp, you can choose any existing ESS catalogue for example "PERS" and add one entry with cobination of that catalogues.

REG: ESS Screens customization issues

I am trying to do some screen changes like,
1) Trying to include the Start Date and End date in Personal Information ESS Application (NZ).
After selecting the value in the Details screen, the actual value I selected is not passing to the Backend.
Please guide me how to solve this issue.

Hi Ashok
When you press New or Change by using the current date, a new record has to be created in Backend (except same cases, e.g. in the current date exists another record with same start date).
BAdI HRXSS_PER_BEGDA is used to change the start/end date behaviour, according to infotype/subtype.
If you are not maintaining BAdI HRXSS_PER_BEGDA for the corresponding infotype, then you cannot put a start date in the past for example.
In order to handle the validity period for new ESS records, exists an enhancement in EHP4 (ECC 604), that you can activate, HCM_ESS_CI_1.
After activation was done, you can go to V_T7XSSPERSUBTY table -> select infty/subty --> check 'Validity period for data can be set'.

Hi all
Here there is a scenario where i need to make invisible edit and delete buttons in the ess family members screen.But i have done it by personalizing the iview but the problem here is when i add child details in the r/3 side this edit and delete buttons are visible in portal screen once again for the newly added child.can any one please gv solution .

We have implemented ESS 50.4 . We need to disable the New,Display & Delete buttons in Personal data screen(pz13). How to make these changes??.

Hi Suriya,
Simple solution to this problem will be to modify the concerned module pool + screens.
PZ02,PZ03 etc are standard transacton, which are used across. Now for different countries there are dfferent set of fileds and layout which is required. So there are couple of module pool developed for different countries.
Out of these which one should be used, can be customisd in table T77WWW_SC, sort on basis of transaction code PZ02/PZ03.
There are two function module available: one for overview screen and another for Detail screen. You can find which one you are using. And then get the Function group name from the function module.
Now copy the function group in a Customized function group. and there you will have access to screen 100(normally for overview) and screen 200( normally for details screen). Now you can change the layout of scree, add/remove fields.
If required you need to do necessary coding in concerned screen PBO/PAI as per your requirement,

REG: ESS WAS AND ITS properties for EHP4

Dear All,
We are using Business Package ESS SP6 with EHP4.
My question is which type of Applications are used in this EHP4. (ie., BSP or ABAPwebdynpro or JavaWebDynPro )
If the application types are of JAVA WEBDYNPRO how should we assign the WAS and ITS parameters for SystemObjects like
SAP_BSP_EREC
SAP_R3
SAP_R3_Financials
SAP_ITS_XSS
SAP_WebDynpro_XSS(mainly regarding this system object WAS and ITS properties.)
Please suggest on this.

                 Portal>Content Admintration>Portal Content>Content provide by sap->ESS -->If I change the enable/disable or hide the fields,I know it will be effected for all users.
                 Employee self-service tab> CTRL + Right click> If i change the enable/disable or hide the fields, will it Effect for all users or current user?

Reg : ESS Webdynpro - Change Own Data - Enhancement

Hi All,
We have a requirement of adding a new field in the - ESS Change Own Data Standard Webdynpro Application.
This extra field is a new Subtype in Infotype 105
I have seen that the webdynpro application uses the RFC - HRXSS_COD_GET_DETAILS to get all the fields which have to be shown in change own data
So this would mean I have to add this new field in the Infoset /SAPQUERY/HR_XX_PA_ESS.. something like ZSYHR_A_P0105_AF_OVDID (custom id ) .
So my questions are
1) After creating a Custom Infoset - How to add & associate the new field (ZSYHR_A_P0105_AF_OVDID ) to the newly created Subtype in Infty Type 105
2) How to get the above field as the result of HRXSS_COD_GET_DETAILS?

You can change the reference to the new infotype or create one more export parameter for thet in your zrfc, this is ABAP thing, ABAP developer can do it man,

Reg: ESS for Concurrent Employment.
As Far as Benefits is concerned, for ex. for participation overview iview the benefits information is tied to the main assignment, so i think ESS with concurrently employed persons works for some of Benefits related iviews.
Simlilarly it works for some payroll related iviews - salary statement.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
But lot of other iviews are an area of concern. Specially the time management related. Iviews like 1. Record Working Time 2. Time Statement 3. Leave Request
4. Quota overview. Not quite sure if this works for concurrently employed persons.
Any help or inputs from someone who are in similar situation will be really appreciated.

Reg- Travel and Expense in ESS

Hi All
We have already implemented Travel and Expense in ESS. Now we have below issue
When the user creates Expense Report (Self Service -> Travel & Expense in ESS portal), at Review and Send step (step-3), there is a button - "Display Reimbursement Details"
If user clicks this button, a PDF form is opened in new window. Problem is, all the expense types (like Airfare, Employee Activities, etc) are grouped under Others and showed in Summary of Expense Reports in the PDF form
My doubt is, how this pdf form is getting generated, is it from std. SAP or by means of config. we need to handle? Also user says, previously it was working fine (means- All the expense types were displayed correctly in Summary of Expense Reports in the PDF form)
But now all expenses are clubbed and showed as Others with total amount. Please help me and provide your inputs

Furthermore, in FITVFELD_WEB can you check that you have the field
'receipt date' activated, it checks the entries in V_T706S_RECEIPT
Please also check the customising in FITVFELD_WEB to ensure corresponds
with customising in FITVFELD etc
One more thing to consider is the Badi "TRIP_WEB_CUSTOMIZING" as this
makes it possible to limit the expense types for the dropdown list if
this is a requirement but it does it before the trip schema is
chosen. That means that the limitation will affect all the schemas, and
not only one.

Reg:- Customization of ESS Benefits Enrollment Overview page

Hi All,
I have a requirement to customize the Overview page of Add/Change Dependants and Benefeciaries. I need to change the text of the buttons, "New Father", "New Mother", "New Child" and "New Emergency Contact". I have imported the ESS Business Package into NWDS.
The problem is, I do not know the exact DC used to make changes to these changes. Can someone help me on the same? Please provide me the DC which is being referenced in this scenario.

Hi Pavithra,
Youc an use the FPM view to edit the texts of buttons. Just Go to the iview where you want to change the text in Content ADMIN--> Portal Content. Right click and preview it. After previewing use CTRL+Right Click by focusing on the button. There you can change the name of button.

Reg: personalinformation workset of ess

hi all
i am working with personal information work set of ess role .Here my requirement is when i select bank information subfolder and open it we will get a page with payee and bank name but here along with these two fields i want bank account number field to be displayed here in this first page.
According to the standard application that field is available on the second page i want to it to be available on the first page as said above.
can you please share your experience how to proceed further .
Is there any option to make it available in existing BAPI.Can you please let me know what is the BAPI name for bank information and how to work with it.

Hi,
Here are the steps to have Account Number to show in Bizcard View.
1. In NWDS create Project for the component - ess/us/bank (just for example)
2. In Web Dynpro Perspective - expand Web Dynpro Components - expand VcPerBankUSOverview
3. In Message Pool - Add the field as below :
Message Key     Message Type    Message Text
BizcardField3        text                    Account Number
4. Now open the View - BizCardsView - wdDoModifyView add the below code:
String bizcardField3 = wdThis.wdGetAPI().getComponent().getTextAccessor().getText("BizcardField3");
fieldInfo = new BizcardFieldInfo[] { new BizcardFieldInfo(bizcardField1, "Emftx"),                           new BizcardFieldInfo(bizcardField2, "Banka"),                                new BizcardFieldInfo(bizcardField3, "Bankn")};
5. Save the changes and Rebuild the project and check in the activity.
This will get the details you are looking for on the BizCard View.
