Reg format command output

Hi ,
This regarding the observation I am seeing on two systems. In a system the format command shows as below
    c3t2d0 <ATA-WDC WD2500YS-18S-6C07 cyl 30392 alt 2 hd 255 sec 63>
/pci@0,0/pci8086,2779@1/pci8086,32c@0/pci1028,1f09@8/sd@2,0
In another system the same command shows as below
c5t5000CCA01B6AB285d0 <HITACHI-HUS723020ALS640-A222-1.82TB>
/pci@0,0/pci8086,3c06@2,2/pci15d9,691@0/iport@ff/disk@w5000cca01b6ab285,0
/dev/chassis/LSI-SAS2X36.50030480008b403f/Slot_22/disk
In fist server it shows, available HDD as c3t2d0 but in second server it shows as c5t5000CCA01B6AB285d0.
May I know the reason?

Solaris uses the WWN when the disk uses one of these technologies : SAS or Fibre Channel

    You might try 'iostat -En' and see if that has sufficient information.

  • Strange output from format command

    Hi,
    We have a Sun V480 running Solaris 8. We have installed 2 SG-XPCI2FC-QF2 fibercards. They are connected to an EVA3000 system. SFS newest version are also installed.
    Have configured the cards with the cfgadm command. But when i run a format command i get this output. Normally it will show somthing like this c1t0d1. But here it shows c11t50001FE15005F54Dd1

    Specify disk (enter its number):
    Can anyone explain this? I was possible to format the disk. But are this OK?
    Thanks,

    Rather than having disk target numbers, format now see's the disks WWN or World Wide Number. If you look at your output, disk 0 and disk 1 have the standard c1t0d0 and c1t1d0 identifiers, but the targets on controller 11 and 12 show the WWN for the LUNs/disks on the EVA3000. This is to help with multipathing etc. Yes it is on to slice the LUNs/disks.

  • Raw format to output command to NI 9264

    I need to determine if there is a way to command output to the ni6009 D/A channels in RAW binary format rather than decimal.
    I have done this for input from the module, see jpg.  The Labview DAQmx read has a RAW option which works for input.  It also seems to have the same for the DAQmx write seems to have the same, but I've not gotten it to function as of yet.
    Any help would be appreciated, ultimately this will be used to control output from NI-9264 16bit modules.
    1) Understanding how to best get the most fine control of NI9264 modules.
    2) Understanding how to command this fine control using labview 2012 and DAQmx.
    Thanks

    It is noted in the DAQmx documentation, that when sending (receiving?) "RAW" fmt one must get it all as a long number and then parse it manually to get the channels.
    That should make things more interesting.
    I'd been running single channel.
    Is there perhaps a way to send decimal "voltage" requests is such a manner that one can step between the resolution notches and so accomplish the same thing as RAW?
    e.g. for a +/- 10V range and 14 bits accuracy, one might give commands using increments of 20 / (2^14) volts?

  • Format the output file by command spool

    Hi,
    I use sqplus in oracle to output the command output to text file .
    I use below set environment varialble.
    SQL> set echo off;
    SQL> set linesize 3999;
    SQL> set feedback off;
    SQL> set feedback off;
    SQL> set termout off;
    SQL> set pagesize 0;
    SQL> spool mapping.txt
    select C_SIM_MSISDN,C_SIM_IMSI from RCA_SMART_CARD order by C_SIM_MSISDN;
    In ouput file , it look like
    SQL> select C_SIM_MSISDN,C_SIM_IMSI from RCA_SMART_CARD order by C_SIM_MSISDN;
    060010007 10007
    SQL> spool off;
    any setting or command that allow me to remove
    the first sql command line" SQL>select XXXX"
    and the last command "SQL>spool off" after start up the "spool mapping.txt"

    Hi,
    Don't type those commands (at least the ones between SPOOL and SPOOL OFF, inclusive) directly into SQL*Plus. Instead, put them in a script, run the script.
    For example, if you create a file called d:\foo\bar\smart_card.sql, that looks like this:
    set echo off;
    set linesize 3999;
    set feedback off;
    set feedback off;
    set termout off;
    set pagesize 0;
    spool mapping.txt
    select        C_SIM_MSISDN
    ,       C_SIM_IMSI
    from        RCA_SMART_CARD
    order by  C_SIM_MSISDN;
    spool offThen all you type at the SQL> prompt is
    @c:\foo\bar\smart_card

  • Formatting Script Output

    Why does SQL Developer ignore
    col name format a15 ?
    col name format a15
    col value format a15
    select name,value from v$parameter
    where name ='statistics_level'Each column length seems to default to 80 charaters.
    I end up needing to use the hortizontal scroll bar to see the results in the Script Output window.

    "col" is a SQL*Plus command. SQL Developer does understand a few SQL*Plus commands, but most of the formatting commands like "column" are not supported.

  • Reg: control commands

    hi,
        what is adddress and endaddress ?how can we specify this in the control_form?

    The command ADDRESS - ENDADDRESS formats an address according to the postal standards of the destination country defined in the parameter COUNTRY.
    Syntax:
    /: ADDRESS DELIVERY PARAGRAPH a PRIORITY p LINES l
    /: TITLE title
    /: NAME name1[,name2[,name3,name4]]
    /: STREET street
    /: POBOX PO box CODE zip code
    /: POSTCODE zip code
    /: CITY town1,town2
    /: REGION region
    /: COUNTRY country
    /: FROMCOUNTRY from country
    /: ENDADDRESS
    Both formatting data and address data are parameters. Address data is formatted for output based on the COUNTRY, PRIORITY and LINES parameters. As the default, the P.O. Box is used, if it is available, rather than the street address.
    Example:
    /: ADDRESS
    /: TITLE ‘Company’
    /: NAME ‘Widget Technology, Inc.’, ‘All Kind of Widgets’
    /: STREET ‘1005 Lido Lane’
    /: POBOX ‘2935’ CODE ‘94400’
    /: POSTCODE ‘94404’
    /: CITY ‘Foster City’
    /: REGION ‘CA’
    /: COUNTRY ‘USA’
    /: FROMCOUNTRY ‘USA’
    /: ENDADDRESS
    This list generates the following address:
    Company
    Widget Technology, Inc.
    All Kind of Widgets
    PO box 2935
    Foster City, CA 94400
    If the DELIVERY supplement is specified for the ADDRESS command, then the street, not the P.O. Box, is entered.
    Company
    Widget Technology, Inc.
    All Kind of Widgets
    1005 Lido Lane
    Foster City, CA 94404

  • Help Using SQL*Plus Format Commands (like TTITLE) in Packages

    Where (within a package) can/should SQL*Plus format commands such as TTITLE, COLUMN & BREAK be coded?

    A package is coded in PL/SQL.
    TTITLE, COLUMN and BREAK are SQL*Plus commands, they cannot be used in PL/SQL.
    If you want to output data (using dbms_output) in your package, you'll have to implement the features yourself. But probably just using SQL*Plus is better in your case.

    Thanks for replying. This info was very helpfull for me.
    But it looks we are little bit diverted from original problem. Basically I was having trouble in identifying "Device" format in my script. If you look at my example metastat output, for d42 the "Device" info was shown as "c1t1d0s4" but for d1023 its shown as "/dev/dsk/c6t50060E8003F64A19d5s7" So i am worried about why for some metadevices its just shown as CTD format and why some others its shown as "/dev/dsk/CTD" format? For d1023 /dev/dsk is coming extra. Any help/info on this will be much appriciated.
    Regards,

  • HP SAN LUN not appearing in format command after applying 10-Recommended

    We applied the 10-Recommended from March 18 and now the HP SAN LUNs are not appearing in the format command and when we cd to the mount points and run ls or ls -l no files are returned. We have verified that the LUNs are being presented by the HP SAN to the system as they were before applying the patch cluster. This is on an E-2900 with QLogic HBAs.

    Do the LUNs show up under "fcinfo", like the following example?

  • How to? multiline label containing exact system command output

    Background info: I'm triggering a system command to display memory utilization. As you know, the "free" linux command displays many lines of text one after the other. It is similar to the mem command used in Window$.
    I want to have a label displaying the command output as it is: multiple lines. Just like you see it in the console. I want to mirror whatever comes up on console after executing free from java.
    Using html tags won't work out for me in this particular situation. It just doesn't do the trick. Still displays the LAST line of command output with or without html tags.
    any ideas? it doesn't have to be a label. It can be anything as long as it works.
    Again, as it is, it just displays the last line of the command output
    //events will trigger every second
    Timer t = new Timer(1000, new ActionListener(){
          public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent event)
    //determine memory utilization.
            String cmd = "free -m";
        try {
         String line;
         Process p = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd);
         BufferedReader input =
           new BufferedReader
             (new InputStreamReader(p.getInputStream()));
         while ((line = input.readLine()) != null) {
           label.setText(line);
         input.close();
        catch (Exception err) {
         err.printStackTrace();
        t.start();

    got it. thanks.
    String cmdMem = "free -m -t -o" ;
          try {
            String lineMem ;
            String outputMem = "" ;
            Process procMem = Runtime.getRuntime ().exec ( cmdMem ) ;
            BufferedReader input =
                new BufferedReader
                ( new InputStreamReader ( procMem.getInputStream () ) ) ;
            while ( ( lineMem = input.readLine () ) != null ) {
              outputMem = ( lineMem + "\n" ) ;
              jTextAreaSystemResourcesOutput.append ( outputMem ) ;
            input.close () ;

  • Cannot see disk in J4200 by "format" command - Solaris 10

    Dear all,
    I have a Sun SPARC T2000 server and a J4200 array connected to each other by SAS cable. The T2000 server was installer Solaris 10u8.
    I installed CAM 6.5 software in my server and I successfully registered the J4200 array, after that, I can see all disks in this array.
    However, when I issued the "format" command, I didn't see any disk in my array. I've got the same result after performing a reconfiguration boot.
    I do not know how to do now to see the disks in this array.
    Please help me in this case.
    Thank all of you very much.
    HuyNQ.

    Folks,
    Interesting info as I tried with SPARC base runing Solaris 10 OS. The daemon is auto imported the unit without I have to issue the OS scan device "devfsadm".
