To leverage KM out of the box workflow functionality, enable the KM approval service on KM folders or repository, then define the approval process steps.

Reg: How to deactive seeded workflow process(HZ User Creation API worflow)

Dear Friends,
I do have a question for deactivate the seeded worflow process. Which means the current process i am not going to use anywhere. I needed to create the new process for Seeded worflow why because this is the worflow having some standard Procedure. Those procedure only will meet my requirement. In such case i wanted to create new processes in that going to call seeded procedure.
Could you please help me out how to deacivate the seeded processes from Oracle Standard workflow ( Name of the workflow is HZ USER CREATION API Workflow) Now current they are created for Customer creation processes. I didn't find currently where they are calling. My requirement is need to Create the new process for User-Id creation.
I hope everybody will understand my requirement.

Hi,
IIRC (and I haven't got a Workflow system handy to check), the Workflow is launched by a business event - if you disable the seeded business event, then that will stop the workflow launching.

Integration of ABAP workflow with portal

Hello Experts,
Need urgent help on UWL configuration.
We have integrated our ABAP workflow with portal through UWL.
We have a Ad Hoc link in the ABAP workflow which takes us to some transaction. For some reason we are not able to view that link when we see this workflow through portal.
1. Is is possible to show any Ad hoc links from ABAP workflow into portals?
2. If yes, what is the process for the same? We did not get any relevant documents.
Any inputs/sugessions are most welcome.

Status of R/3 Workflow in Portal

Is it possible to display the request number and status of the R/3 workflow in Portal? Do we need any custom development or we can call a transaction for it?

How to purge the workflow which is in process

Hi Friends,
I am facing one problem in the AME Workflow.
when a user submit a page for approval process, workflow engine invokes . and in the hr_api_transcations table transacation id is created for that workflow transacation. now the problem is, if i purge that workflow process using concurrent program 'PURGE OBSELETE WORKFLOW RUNTIME DATA' . it is deleting the workflow. but when i see the hr_api_transacation table still the transacation id for that workflow is active.
Example :-
when i see through through the responsibility (workflow administrator web applications)=>Administrator workflow=>Status monitor
when i type the item key say some x and search for the workflow status i cant see the workflow status. i can see it is deleted.
but when i type the same item key in the hr_api_transacation
like :- select * from hr_api_transactions where item_key='X' i can see the status of this transacation is active and workflow is in pending.
can anyone explain me why system is behaving like.. how to stop the workflow process and how to delete the transacation id from the table.

I followed your points and in schedular task wizard, I selected Eclipse project instead of Generation directory. Here I gave a simple webdynpro project. (with the intention of writing my code in it) But I face foll problems.
When I deployed this webdynpro project, I am not able to see it in the portal scheduler tasks. how should I locate it ?
I should select Generation directory or Eclipse project ? if generation directory, which directory should I give ?
Where should I write the code ?

How to set a variable in portal session using web dynpro java.

Hi,
I have created a web dynpro application, which is running inside portal. I have created a role called "R1". Inside role R1, i have created 3 workset W1, W2 and W3. and inside each workset i have some pages and iviews.
My requirement is when user logins to the portal , and when he clicks on role R1 for the first time, a login page should come (so that we can do revalidation), and when he enters his password again in that login page , then only workset W1, W2 and W3 should be visible/accessible to him and after successful revalidation, if he clicks again on role R1, in that particular portal session, than that login page should not come.
for this, i thought i will set a variable in portal session, whenever user successfully revalidated himself, and if after successful revalidation he clicks again on role R1, i will check in doinit method of webdynpro whether variable is set or not (which i already set on successful revalidation), and if it is set then i will do Donavigation else i will present login page to the user.
Can anyone tells me how to set a variable in portal session using web dynpro java.

Hi,
Well, why dont you check the event that gets triggered during the Status change of the user?
This can be done by switching on the EVENT TRACE using SWELS txn and simulate the BUSINESS PROCESS and then check the event trace using SWEL.
After getting the required Business Object and event, Please attach your WF to that EVENT in the BASIC DATA-START EVENTS.

can any one tell me that how interegate the File Server With Portal Server??
In my portal server under home tab i have sub tab (second level navigation) of File server.Whe i click this tab it throws an syntax error
ie
System Error

i have specified the folder of file server that i want to display..
but i get the same syntax error ..
infact i dint get that folder in KM.
But when i specify the folder that is present in KM its Work fine..
Now the Scnerio According to me is that File server is not integrated properly
if it would be integrated properly i would be able to see the folder of File server in KM...
am i correct ??
please Guide me to integrated the File Server Properly??

Hi Vinit,
if you want some Windows File Server integrated into Portal, please do not use a WebDAV Repository, but use the File System Repository instead. Therefore you need to configure the according Repository Manager. Please refer to this documentation:

How to troubleshoot approval workflow of a rejected purchase order

Hi,
We are working in oracle applications 11i.
I have a purchase order with status rejected that has hanged up in the system. The user rejected PO and the document has not been transferred to the PO buyer. From the application forms -> Forward documents window, I can see that neither the user who rejected or the buyer has the document.
From System Administrator responsibility I can see that the workflow administrator can modify a PO that is only IN PROCESS,
what shall I do?

You mean to say you installed Workflow Builder on your laptop? See that Oracle Workflow has a Client Side (WF Builder), a backend Server side and middle application side.
Assuming you successfully installed the client side then you must have a group of programs called Oracle OUIHome and there one called Application Development. There you should be able to find Workflow builder.
