Reg: IS Aerospace and Defence software component

hi all,
we already had ECC6.0 IDES system.now i want to add A&D IS component(Aerospace and Defence) to this EEC6.0 system. I read that SAPK-6000 "*" INECCDIMP support pack should be added so that it will fulfill our requirement.
(*- levels)
now my question is??
is the above mentioned support pack is the correct one or not or any other software components should be added??
and wht are the Prerequisites to be followed before this add on is added..?

We would like to implement BI for one of the organization where ERP SAP R/3 IS Aerospace and Defence (A & D) is already implemented. I tried to see business content for A & D, but could not find. Could anybody advise me where anything is available for A & D?

All business content is available in the helpfile (help.sap.com). For your IS however, the link in the helpfile seems to be dead.
This either means there's an error in the online helpfile, or there's simple no business content available...
Try contacting SAP to verify?

Transport products and software component version

Hi,
I created a Products and its Software Component Version in System Landscape Directory of XI development.
I imported this Software Component Version into Integration Builder and developed design and configuration objects.
The scenario is completed and now I want to transport the Products and Software Component Version to XI Production.
Could someone please explain the transport procedure.

Thanks four your instructions. I would like to have more details on the export/import procedure. Please confirm the following steps are correct:
From SLD of XI development:
1/ Edit new product and its software component version.
2/ Click on icon Export: XI generates a zip file and downloads it in c drive.
From SLD of XI Production:
1/ Select Import utility under system catalog.
2/ Browse and select the zip file
In XI production there are existing third party products, and I do not want the transport of this new product causes any problem.
Design and configuration objects will be exported/import ed after the successful transport of product and software component version transport.

Error while Deleting Software Component

Hi All,
I am getting following error while deleting Software Component Version:
Unable to Delete object DELETEDEMO_COMPONENET, 1.0 of delete.
You cannot delete a sotware component version if it contains imported interfaces.
Is there any shortcut isntead of deleting all objets manuually?

Hi Sri.
It's very simple
Solution:
Double Click on Software Component, On Right Hand side >Go to Software Component Version->Delete the software component.If all the necessary Objects have been properly deleted, there will be no problem in Deleting the Software Componet version
1) Delete the created Data Types, Message Types, Message Interfaces, Message Mappings, and Interface Mappings.
2) There should be no Imported SAP Objects in the Software Component. If any delete them and activate changes.
3) Delete all namespaces in the editor using sign. Do not save the changes.
4) Delete the two default data types that are created in the Interface Objects-->Data Types of the software component version (ExchangeFaultdata, ExchangeLogdata). Now save changes for the s/w component version and activate the changes. Ignore the warnings that pop-up.
5) The radio button for u201CInterface import should be at u201CNot permittedu201D instead of u201CImport RFC and IDoc Interfaces from SAP Systems Permittedu201D.
6) Now go to Software component version menu in the right hand pane. Click on delete and the software component vanishes from left hand pane

YOu mean to say Software Unit..
If yes Software unit is a particular aspect of the Product functions.It is a logical link between the product version and the software component version.
A product version consists of multiple software units. These units are implemented by various software components (or versions).
The product SAP R/3 Enterprise, which represents an SAP technical component, has, among other things, a product version SAP R/3 Enterprise Core 4.7. The software unit that represents the functions of this product version has the same description as the product version. Various software components (or versions) fill the functions of this software unit. These software components (or versions) are, among others, SAP Basis 6.20, SAP HR 4.70, and SAP Enterprise Retail 1.10.

Software Component in the track need to be refreshed

Hi
   I created a track (T1) and a Software component (SC) in it. I deployed a SCA file (SCA1) with 6 DCs in it. All the Dcs get deployed and it results in one Broken DC. I couldnt solve the broken DC error. So I developed all those 6 DCs newly with different name and now I am ready with the new SCA file (SCA2).
       Now I need to
                   1. clear the Software Component (SC) in the track(T1). So that the broken DC wont get displayed there.
                   2. I want to deploy the newly developed SCA file (SCA2). (So that I can have a clear track without Broken DCs)
                 Please help me in this.

Hi Anil,
        But the thing is that I have deployed the new SCA file(SCA2) once again in the SC1. So now am having 12 DCs in the track with one broken DC.
        So if I create a new track (say T2) and deploy the SCA file then it will be like another copy and I think there will be a conflict in the Link opening that DC.

How to delete Software Component from IR.

1. Design:Integration Builder
Double click on the Software Component Version
In the display window, navigate the menu to Software Component Version and select Delete
This removes both the Software Component and the Software Component Version
Ensure that the Change List is empty
2. SLD
Double click on the Software Component and select the Remove button
3. Clear SLD Cache
You may want to go back into the Design:Integration Builder, navigate the menu to Environment and select Clear SLD Data Cache

Can UCE communicate to the Universal Knowledge Base and Universal Software Component Repository through a company proxy server?
Answer
During the install process of the OnStage Management Server, the OnStage EZ-installer will detect your local proxy server whilst establishing communications with the Aduva Universal Servers.
In this instance, the user is prompted for the proxy parameters, including IP address of the proxy or proxy server name if DNS is present, proxy user name and password.
This information is stored locally in the .director.rc file and is never communicated to Aduva or any other 3rd party.
Once the proxy settings have been correctly inputed during installation, OnStage will indeed work through the proxy server.

I wish to know if it is possible to associate a third-party business system to a software version and therefore to a software component.
This is importnat for me to know it applied to teh PI 7.1. I know that for abap and java this is possible.

Hi,
go to SLD.......go to Business system......click on new business system to create it.........then select your technical system for third party........then tell the sw component to be linked to the third party business system........then your third party business sytem will be linked to the sw component in PI7.1.

Software component and unit in PI 7.0

can you distinguish bw software component and unit in PI 7.0.
since unit is not available in XI 3.0.

S/w Unit is a logical link between Product version and SWCV.
S/w unit contains information of product version and this infomation can be shared across all software component version related to that particular product version.
A product can have many S/w units and a S/w unit can have many SWCVs

How to change name of software component version in IR and ID?

Hi All,
I have a scenario in which 50 interfaces are there.All interfaces are working fine and we are in Testing stage.
I need to change name of Software component which I have used in IR.
I tried with release transport. I am able to pass all my mapping programs and everything under new software component name. But in ID all configuration objects contain IR objects (Like interface mapping) with old software component name.
Do I need to change everything in ID manually or is there any other way for this?

Gouri,
If you check this blog , you are able to transfer data even without IR content, i.e, there is no message interface , no namespace in IR and stil this works. Reason, there is no validation if the message interafce exists in the IR. In the runtime the SOAP Header is filled with the interfacename and namespace and it uses these values.

Likewise, irrespective of which SWCV the interface name and namespace is, things will work fine as long as they exists in the IR in your case.
The SWCV is a means to group objects, it might be displayed while doing the manual configuration but it doesnt matter even if you just key in the values without using the help.
Things will work fine.

Product and Software component in SLD

Hi,
What is the basic concept of product and Software component.I have few questions.
If our company is going for Sap implementation of ISmedia
and XI as middleware for interfacing with other systems then what do we need to do for product and SWC.
Do we need to create a third party product and SWC for this project in sld?
We can create differnt Software component under the existing Product of SAP ISM
What are the best practices

--> I added the SC "HMVCGLXBRIDGE" afterwards in the SLD und after an update and synchronisation in CMS it is also not shown
I checked the HMVCGLXBRIDGE.sca and there are two files in the BUILDARCHIVES folder:
- test.sap.comhm-vc-glx-bridge.dcia
- test.sap.comtcvcglxbridgecomp~.dcia
Furthermore there are this folders:
DEPLOYARCHIVES

Correlation between namespace and add-on software component?

I need answers for the following questions
1. Is namespace a unique identifier for an Add-On software component?
2. Does the SAP system identify ABAP add-ons "only" based on the namespace? Post installation of an add-on, in the system status one finds the namespace in the list as installed software component.
3. If the above is true, this means I cannot have multiple add-on software components under a single namespace. Is this correct?
4. Could you explain in detail the correlation between namespace, add-on software component, add-on software component version and associated development objects?
