Reg language settings while browsing EBS

Hi,
Language - Greek / Portuguese / Spanish
The "Lightweight MLS" is implemented in the R12.1.3 application and we have Greek, Spanish and Portuguese as languages. We have also run the TLS (Language Synchronisation) scripts and we are able to see the languages in the instance. One thing that I do not know is how to get the Forms & Reports to open up and show the Greek / Portuguese / Spanish language to the end user.
Any pointers are appreciated.

While looking for apps via(and for) my iPad, often I will start with a simple one word search term, then use the category, rating, price, and product filters to narrow my search - works great.

how can we handle browser settings while dealing with the security ?When we configured security in web.xml , during the first request the container is asking for the authentication credentials once they are provided it go's on. but when the user gives a fresh request from the second window within the same browser that time it is not asking for authentication. How can we overcome this.Is there anything to do with server configurations?
How can we make the container no to keep the things or act like session?

Ya... I am taking a small example need not happen always but a kind of possibility i am thinking off.
once the user sign out and just left without closing the browser and a friend (suppose not a good friend ... just kidding...) of that user may open the same jsp or file .This time the security is breached. If that feature or property exists....
I know what you might say ... the user will log-out before leaving where a programer might invalidate the session at the time of log out.
Consider the case of a bad Programing or just a programer might forget to invalidate,At that time as a application administrator how can he solve that issue.

User language according to browser settings

Hi all,I saw that is possible to display the guest page according to the browser language. This is done by leaving blank the <International><Locale> attribute in j_config.xml. If I want to use this mechanism for all the portal users, do you know what kind of customization I have to do?

You can instruct the portal to use the browser language for all users by changing the Default Profile (Default Profiles utility | Edit Profile | MyAccount | Edit Locale Settings) to "Use Browser Locale".
Once you save this profile, any newly created user will see the Portal UI in the locale/language of the browser the first time the user logs into the Portal (assuming the browser language is supported by the Portal).If the same user logs off and logs back into the Portal after changing the browser locale, the Portal will continue to use the locale set on initial login. In other words, the initial login behaves as a sort of "stamp" -- after the initial log-in users can change their locale via MyAccount | Edit Locale Settings.
Setting locales should be performed via the Default Profile for regular users or the Guest Profile for guest users. Modifying the <International><Locale> attribute in j_config.xml is rarely necessary and not recommended.If you experience any problems with this, please let us know and make sure you provide configuration details (Portal version, etc.) as well as any relevant customaization you have done or plan to do.

Browser language settings

In browser I have language settings as follows:
Czech(cs)
English(en_us)
My application does not support Czech and Iam getting labels broken string as lables (??xy.user.name??).
Can the application load english or default language properties if czech or selected language properties are not available?
If so what are the changes need to be made from application end.

Hi,
Java's ResourceBundle provides you a way to fallback to JVM's default locale(i.e. Locale.getDefault()) and load the properties file for the default locale, if it does not find the resource bundle for the specified locale(e.g. Czech). You can make use this API. Please go through the Java API for details.
Also, for your web application you can design a locale fallback mechanism to determine the locale for a user session (if it is required in your application).
So that the determined locale is used as a parameter to load resource bundles as well as perform any other locale sensitive operations.

Please go to the below metioned path & Check there wheather you have assigned correct G/L account or not
Spro> Financial Accounting>Bank Accounting>Business Transactions>Payment Transactions>Electronic Bank Statement>Make Global Settings for Electronic Bank Statement
Check in the Assign Accounts to Account Symbol then select the required account symbol (ZMAIN BANK) assign there proper G/L account(Main Bank Acount )
Example
Act Symbol Acct Modi. Currency G/L Acct Acct Symb.Desc
MAINBANK ICICI + + 304 Mainbank ICICI -

ESS/MSS Language settings or locale

Hi ,
I Have few Queries related to language settings.
I have set the default language as en_gb (english united kingdom )of the user in user administration .
When i login to the portal the default language in en_gb.
Now if the user chnage the browser language to De- DE german,then the page is not getting translated.How ever the translation is available if i dont set the default language in User administration.
can you which setting will get the more precedence.

I have checked it seems the language we assign in user administration is taking the precedance.
I have assigned the language in user administration for the user
(eg:user21).But if the user(eg:user21) wants to check the portal with
the german language.the user changes in internet explorer to German.But
the portal page is always en_gb.
We wanted to have default language for all users as en_gb and if they
chnage the language in internet explorer it should be translated to the
language selected(considered translation available for the selected
language).
Kindly suggest if there is some option for this.

[BO XI 3.0] - Strange behavior regarding language settings

Hello,
I found strange behavior BOE in infoview portal. We have Desktop intelligence documents published in repository and when we open report (first time) in infoview we have right format for date and numbers e.g. dd.mm.yyyy, 123.123,00.
When we close this report and open once again the format is en-US e.g. mm/dd/yyyy 123,123.00 and this is wrong. We log out and log in and open this report but no change.
If we restart services in cmc (deski services) then the first time is report ok and when we open again this report the same error.
SW:
Windows server 2003 sp2 - english (regional settings - slovenian)
BOE premium ( BO XI R 3.0 => the same problem in BO XI 3.1)
CMS database => Oracle 10gR2 (nsl lang SLOVENIAN_SLOVENIA.EE8MSWIN1250)
Language settings in infoview we check => use browser locale and slovenian

Try the following option.
Find the file i8ln.xml in the location
"<install directory of BO>\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\scripts\"
Take a backup of the file and make the follwing changes.
Find the following code in the file
activate_languages>
<state value="0"/>
<State value="0" cs_lang="Bulgarian"/>
<State value="0" orig_lang="" cible_lang="Bulgarian"/>*
<State value="0"/>
</activate_languages>
Replace it with:
<activate_languages>
<state value="0"/>
<State value="1" cs_lang="English (Australian)"/>
<State value="1" orig_lang="" cible_lang="English (Australian)"/>*

</activate_languages>
Save the file.
Restart your Desktop Intelligence servers. It might take a bit of time to pick up the changes.
Note: If you start Deski after this change, and go to "Tools > Options", you will see a disabled language button with "English(....)" written on it.

Bilingual site - selecting correct variation based on langue settings in browser

I have a bilingual site English/French. However, the French site is not being selected if my browser is set to French. I think this might have to do with the fact that in the "Variation Labels" under the heading "Hierarchy
is created" is set to "No" for French. (We had to copy over the hierarchy to the French site manually as the sharepoint jobs weren't doing that. Is there anything else I can do to make the site select French correctly when the default language
is set to French in the browser?

Hi Sherazad,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to set the language of the site based on the browser’s language.
Yes, you can use variations to do it. And when you create a variation label for a language, you need to make sure the "Hierarchy is Created" is Yes.

In addition, you can also choose without variations to do it. You can go to Site settings->Language settings, then select alternate languages(like French), click OK. After that, go to your IE options->Languages->Set Language Preferences, make

Just look around the forum posts. Your issue is the number one problem reported by users. There are many suggestions found, some work for some users, others do not.
Some users have reported no battery problems after the upgrade. Others have improved performance after upgrading to 5.0.1 from 5.0. YMMV.
Many of the posts offer suggestions about changing various settings - there are many that affect the battery life.
Once you upgrade the iOS on a device, you cannot go back to a previous version.

I came here to live with my mom for a while in mexico due to personal resons and while I was here I decided to buy the newer hard drive for my mac which is the 10.7.4 But when they installed it all the default programs they installed such as "word"Is all in spanish And I want to know how I can change the lanuage to english? Also when I press Command Option P & R it'sall in spanish and I dont quite understand it. So if you can pleae guide me how I can change the language settings to all this? Could I do this ALL at once? All Apple stuff is multilingual. You just go to system preferences/language & text/language and move English to the top of the list and then restart or login logout.
Stuff made by MS is often only in one language only, so if you want a different one you have to get another copy. For problems with their apps, ask in their forums:

Make sure you tell people what version of MS apps you are using, as there are lots of them and it makes a difference.

Use Unicode (UTF-8) for those characters.
Then you will always be sure that they are displayed correctly.

BlackBerry World disobeys device language settings

My copy of BlackBerry World plays smartass and displays Indonesian while I explicitly specify English as my language in device settings. Even worse is the fact that it's incomplete: there are still English phrases left in BlackBerry World here and there.
Is there a way to force BlackBerry World to not try to display a language it thinks I need and have it display the language I want instead?

Thank you for your question regarding the language settings in BlackBerry World.
To correct this issue complete the steps outlined below:
Close BlackBerry World
Open Settings on the BlackBerry
select language and Input
Change the display language to English UK
launch BlackBerry World
Confirm that BlackBerry World now displays in English
Open Settings on the BlackBerry
select language and Input
Change the Display language back to English
Open BlackBerry World
Confirm that BlackBerry World is still listed as being in English

Random freeze while browsing

Greetings,
I have, in the last couple of weeks, run into an issue that someone else here may have seen.
While browsing the web with either Safari or Firefox, my machine will occasionally lock up. The cursor moves, but nothing is selectable, the dock is unresponsive, force-quit key combo does nothing, and I hear a very distinct processor screech as soon as it begins. The only way out is a hard restart (tried waiting over an hour to no avail). It doesn't appear to matter what page I'm browsing, and nothing is written to any log to give me a clue. It can happen after a few hours or a few minutes, and, very rarely, more than once on any given day.
I think it's a runaway process (due to the processor screeching), but have yet to pinpoint the source. I have recently updated the video card from ATI 9600 64MB to an OE 9800 Pro Special Edition 256MB.
I am connected via Bellsouth DSL, with nothing between my machine and the modem but the ethernet cable.
Any thoughts?

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Seems like a system wide issue could be because of Webkit. But lets first try to fix Safari and see if it make a difference.
1. Drag com.apple.Safari.plist to the desktop. Location Home user > Library > Preferences > com.apple.Safari.plist
2. Delete user caches. Location Home user > Library > Caches
3. Run disk utility to repair permissions.
4. Reset PRAM. Follow article http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=2238
5. Check if the Safari is working fine. If not then make a new Admin user from System Preferences > Accounts and check all the other applications if they are working fine.
6. If the issue persist then this is indeed a system wide issue. You will have to backup user data and perform an archive and install without preserving user and network settings. Then you can do a combo update to 10.4.6
