Reg Like profile

Hi all
We have a requirement on like profile...
I have created a like profile on  characteristic "GROUP SIZE" and  in the assignments page...
i have assigned this like profile to another characteristic "PRODUCT".
when i execute the forecast in the back ground with this like profile.... i didn't find any forecast for that product...
Here i have created like profile one char, and assigned it different char.
1. Is like profile works on different char like profile assignment..?
Could any one please provide document on this......
Thanks
Tgs

Hi Datta
I have gone through the doc... but the thing is
A like profile is only taken into account, if exactly the values for the specified characteristic value combination are found in the current selection.
Here I have created two products eg prd1 & prd2, with group sizes A & B in both the products.
Characteristics values for these two products are the same...
PRD1 = Old product
PRD2 = New product.
I have created like profile  on GROUP SIZE
And assigned this Like profile ( group size like profile) the CHAR  product I.e  PRD2. - IN THIS CASE the like profile is not working...
I didnt find any documentation on these issue... If you have or if you understand please explain me...
Regards

    Hi,
I am not sure which entries you want exactly...However there are couple of tables related to like profiles in which LIKEID is there.
    /SAPAPO/DP440G- Master Forecast Profile (APO0300)
/SAPAPO/FCST_LC -  Assignment Table: Lifecycle Profiles to Charact. Value
/SAPAPO/FCST_LC1 - Assignment Table: Lifecycle Profiles to Charact. Value

  • What is a like profile in SCM?

I search my APO book and SDN, I cannot find the exact definition of like profiles
Would you please explain what is  a like  profile?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
The F1 help in the field 'Like Profile' is self explanatory. Please see the text from F1 pasted below.
*Profile Number for Like Dependency in Material Forecast*
Used in Demand Planning, a "like" profile allows you to create the demand forecast of a product using the historical data of a product or products whose demand behavior is the same or similar.
    Use
Use "like" modeling for products with short lifecycles or for products with insufficient historical data.
You can use the same "like" profile for multiple products.
    Procedure
    To create a "like" profile:
    1. Call the product's master record in Create or Change mode.
    2. Select the Phase-in/phase-out tab.
    3. Select Maintain next to the "Like" profile field.
As an alternative to steps 1-3, choose Goto -> LIKE profile -> Define from the master forecast profile.
    4. Enter the product or products whose historical data you wish to be used to create the forecast.
    5. For each product, enter an action. There are two possible actions:
"S": This product's historical value is added to the forecasted product's generated historical value.
"A": The mean average historical value for all products of action type "A" is added to the forecasted product's generated historical value.
    6. For each product of action type "S", enter a weighting factor or a weighting profile.
If you enter both a weighting factor and a weighting profile, the system uses the weighting profile. If you enter nothing, the system sets the weighting factor to 100%. If you enter a weighting factor and/or a weighting profile next to a product of action type "A", the system ignores these entries.
    7. If required, enter a lag. You must enter the same lag for each "like" product.
    8. Choose Save.
Example 1: "Like" Profile for MegaChocShock 200g
"Like" product  Action History Factor  Generated history
    ChocBloc 50g  S  100  66  66
    ChocBloc 75g  S  200  34  68
    MegaChocShock 200g    134
    =======================================================================
Example 2: "Like" Profile for MegaChocShock 300g

    ChocBloc 50g  S  100  33  33
    ChocBloc 75g  S  200  17  34
    MegaChocShock 100g A  100  -  150 [(100 + 200)/2]
    MegaChocShock 200g A  200  -
    MegaChocShock 300g    217
    =======================================================================
Example 3: "Like" Profile for MegaChocShock 400g
Like...  Action Month History Factor Profile Generated history
    MCS 200g S  Jan  200  33  -  66

    Feb  200  -  30  60
    Mar  300  -  50  150
    Apr  400  -  70  280
The generated history for MegaChocShock 400 is therefore:
    Month  Calculation  Result
    Jan  66 + 150  216
    Feb  82.5 + 60  142.5
    Mar  66 + 150  216
    Apr  99 + 280  379
Example 4: "Like" profile for MegaChocShock 500g
This example shows you how to use different "like" products in different periods.
Like...  Action Month  History Profile Generated history

You must assign the profile to one or more products. To do this, choose Goto -> LIKE profile -> Assign from the master forecast profile and make the desired entries. You can also assign a "like" profile to a product on the Phase-in/phase-out tab of the global product master record.
To limit the use of the "like" profile to particular locations, choose Goto -> LIKE profile -> Assign from the master forecast profile and make the desired entries.

  • APO DP Proportional factors with LIKE profile settings

Can someone explain how Proportional factors get generated when we setup a new product with LIKE profile settings?  We are getting forecast generated at lower levels such as customer characteristic at levels we would not anticipate, and we don't see any proportional factors generated.
Example: we have Existing product A and new product B.  We setup the LIKE profile for Product B to replace product A.  At the product level the forecast is generated correctly.  Currently product A has customers 1, 2, 3, 4 where customer 3 has 80% of the volume and customer 4 has 15% and customers 1 & 2 have the remaining volume.  When the forecast is generated for product B customer 4 is getting 60%, customer 3 50% and 1 & 2 the remaining volume.  There are no proportional factors generated for this new product.  When I try to create proportional factors for the new product it says there is no historical shipments to use which would be correct.  How do I get the dis aggregation of customers under product B to use the proportions that were used for product A?

    Hi Ganesh,
    Please refer following thread -
    APO DP proportional factor calculation
Also you can refer to following link where its explained indetail -

  • Difference between like profile and relignment

    Hello Friends,
Difference between like profile and relignment ?
useing like profile we can generate stat forecast for new product ,where as in relignment we can generate new cvcs if iam wrong pl correct me and iam looking for more details

    Sivaram,
The Key differences between Like profile and Realignment are:
    1. For Like profile to work, you need to have CVCs for the new product in place before you can execute it.
In realignment, you can create the new CVCs and then copy the data from Old CVC to the new CVC during a realignment run.
    2. Like profile does not actually copy the demand history of one product to another and store it in livecache, it merely used the history by referring to the history KF and then generating forecast in the forecast number which does gets written to live cache.
Whereas using realignment, you can do copy history from old CVC to the new CVC or for that matter any KF data can be copied from old CVC to new CVC that throughout the history and forecast horizons.
    3. Like profile works hand in hand with Statistical forecasting functionality of APO.
Whereas Realignment is independent of Forecasting.

  • REg Access Profile -View

    Hi
I would like to know the access limit when i Use the acess profile for an object in related information section as 'View'.
Any inputs would be highly appreciated
    Thank You
    Meena

    Hi,
The View access level is typically set in the Related Information of the given object.
When the access level is set to View, it will inherit the access level of the parent object.
for example: if Access Level for Account = Read/Edit and the Access Level in the Related Information of Account for Open Activities = View, then the access level for Open Activities will be inherited from Account, i.e. it too will be Read/Edit.
Note: Read Only is not equal to View.

  • Does Oracle has features like Profiler in MS SQL

Since I'm new to Oracle I would like to know from you guys does Oracle has the feature like that of Profiler like present in MS SQL. Since I need those services for my work so really like to know about it. I tried to find out that feature but couldn't. So please share your knowledge about it .
    Regards,
    Praveen Rai

As someone who has actually used SQL Profiler I will add a few comments.
There are two Oracle features that may be of interest when trying to duplicate SQL Profiler information.
Niall mentioned the Oracle trace facility. Oracle is heavily instrumented and the internal measurements for how long individual operations executed and/or waited are available via the trace facility. It can be turned on by a session (several methods available) and it is also possible to turn trace on externally for an already running session.
An experienced DBA may choose to work with the raw trace file but Oracle provides a utility trkprof which will format the trace file collecting the execution information (number of physical IO, Logical IO, and rows returned) by SQL statement.
This kind of trace files are primary used for tuning purposes. Trace files can also be used to capture bug information via setting database events,
You can find information on SQL trace in the Performance and tuning manual.
Another feature that may be of interest is the Log Miner feature. This feature allows you to see the SQL in the online or archived redo logs. It is possible to generate SQL to back out changes that were applied.
This reminds me of another feature that will allow you to see "recent" activity: flash back query. For as long as the information is retained in the undo segments it is possible to query all activity against a row or set of rows in a table.
Again each of these features is documented in the standard documentation.
Here is a link to an article on how to turn trace on for an already running session.
How do I switch on sql trace in another session that is already running?

    HI,
u can use like operator in select statement where condition.
may be it is failing because of some other selections. please make sure whether the record with the corresponding selections is available in database or not.

You can enable tracing at multiple levels using the DBMS_MONITOR package. The following link shows how to enable session tracing: [Application Tracing Tools|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14211/sqltrace.htm#CHDFCGAE]
You can then use a tool like TKPROF or TRCSESS to aggregate the trace data into more readable files for analysis.

  • Abt  Like, Phase-In and Phase-Out profiles

    Hi,
        Can some1 explain me what is<b> Like, Phase-In and Phase-Out profiles</b>?
    What is it's good for?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Siva.

    Hi Sivaprakash.
Like modelling (including phase in/phase out) is primarily used for introduction of new products and is normally called Lifecycle Planning:
    Example:
Suppose you are introducing SKU2 to replace SKU1.
You want to forecast demand for SKU2 but there is no history for this new product.
You could use a Like profile to use the history of SKU1 to forecast demand for SKU2.
You could use a phase-in profile to model the build of demand of SKU2 from zero up the forecast demand (it is very unlikely that demand will go from 0 to 100% of forecast from day one)
Similarly, you could use a phase out profile for SKU1 to model the fall of demand from 100% forecast to zero.
All together, the transition of demand from one product (SKU1) to a replacement product (SKU2) can be fully modelled using these profiles.
This is all quite well documented in <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/8f/9d6937089c2556e10000009b38f889/frameset.htm">help.sap.com - lifecycle planning</a>
    Hope this helps.
