Reg Number of plants to configure

Hi all MM GURUS
Currently we are into ROLL OUT project. Actually here Cracker, HDPE, Utilties are the units in this plant.
Client is asking to maintain these units as a separate plant . Is it advisable to go like that ??
Or same palnt is best?
What are the pros and cons of going for separate plants ?
Hoping for ur valuable suggestions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are the buildings very far off? Is all these related to the same business or are they differen entities which does not have any link.
if they have any link then you can treat them has storage location ir else plant.

I have a column 'SampleNumCol' of type Number, the number of decimal places to be displayed is configured as 2.
The column conatins a value, but when retrieved programatically is displayed as 5.00000000 instead of 5.00.
I am retrieving this column using listitem.Properties[field.InternalName].
I need to trim the decimals based on number of decimal places configured for the site column.
How to get the number of decimal places configured for a site column?

Get the field as SPFieldNumber and then check DisplayFormat which returns
SPNumberFormatTypes
SPFieldNumber numberField = list.Fields.GetFieldByInternalName("YourNumberFieldName") as SPFieldNumber;
SPNumberFormatTypes numFormatType = numberField.DisplayFormat;

Purchase order number ranges plant wise

Hi ,
Requirement is , want to have purchase order number plant wise. I know that we can have different number ranges for different document types in standard SAP. But how to achieve different number ranges for purchase order plant wise.?
Is there any user exits available for this?

Hi,
it is possible through a BADI to get the separate number ranges for plant wise PR/PO,
but u need to maintain a customised table with number ranges and plants,
whenever the user try to save a PO/PR the syatem will pick the number range from the customised table,
that BADI is ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST,
it is very useful if any client has number of plants like 30 or 40 plants,
and it is easy track the PO from where it has raised.

Plant specific configuration

Hello friends;
I want to delete material entered in the field "configurable material" under "plant- specific configuration" tab in mrp3 view. There is no any requirement for material.

You cant delete that.
You need to create new material coz it is not editable.
Only option is from debug mode delete thows entries , but i suggest you not to do that coz it can currpt database.

Determine European customer by VAT reg. number [EU STCEG]

I work in international company. For one of the countries VAT procedures, in order to know which VAT code to use, I need to know if it is a european customer.
I need to determine to which country the VAT reg. number belongs. For example, I take French VAT reg. number FR12345678, cut 2 first characters, and this way I know that it belongs to FR=FRANCE.
For each country code (FR for example) I can know if it is an european by field T005-XEGLD = X.
But, I can't find the way to determine always the country - because for Greece, for example, it doesn't work this way : Greece country code is GR and it's VAT reg. number is EL12345678
Is there a functiom module or logic to determine one of the following:
1) takes VAT reg. number and determines it's country
2) takes VAT reg. number and determines if it European

Hello Janna,
VAT reg. numbers are always of the format : <ISO code><number>
From the ISO code, you will always get to know as the VAT number belongs to which country.
Example:
ES10000000Z -> ISO code ES belongs to Spain
IT09417760155 -> ISO code IT belongs to Italy.
This format is as per the legal requirement that VAT must always start with ISO code.

We are required to put service tax registration number for plants in SAP 4.6C (CIN 40A)However, we are not able to find a place where to enter the service tax registration number for plant.

It is available in T code: J1ID itself - Excise Status - Excise Indicator for Plant. We are also on same version.

I did a quick where-used lookup in SE11 on the structure STPOV in function module interfaces and came up with the following:

It appears that this structure is primarily used for where-used look-ups for components within the BOM. I don't know if any of these are what you're in need of.

1) create activity type
2) create particular cost center
3)maintain activity type price planing in kp26
below mentioned are plant wise
4) create bom
5) create work center
6)create routing
7) create materiel

I have requirement where in I need to give client information about root object. Information being sought is on the total number of plants, employees, jobs and respective tasks performed by employees.
Is there any standard report available to fetch this information? Or please let me know how to collect all this information?
