Reg: NWDS 7.0 usage

hi all.
i am joined as a SAP Webdynpro java trainee at enteg. i have used the NWDS 7.2 earlier. but right now i am using NWDS 7.0 version for developing application.
7.0 is entirely different look and functionality from 7.2. could any one guide me regarding this or to give some basic usage about nwds 7.0.. like how to create context node for view and how to link the view and component and all..

Please check this thread for relevance, check the last post of the thread. I've actually never heard of NWDS 7.0, I was under the impression that the last would be 2.0.15 for the SP15 release of the j2ee engine.

Dear all,
please give advice regarding the 3 scenarios
scenario 1.: Sent material for subcontracter for making 10 materials , stock received 10 numbers out of which in usage decision we have put 8 in unrestricted and 2 in block, during invoice in MIRO we should get payment for 8 numbers only.
Scenario 2 : Sent material for subcontracter for making 10 materials , stock received 10 numbers out of which in usage decision we have put 8 numbers in unrestricted and 2 in scrap, in MIRO we should get value where we deduct for 2 numbers and also the raw material cost for 2 nos.

If you have clicked the "change document" in QM view then change history for the Usage Decision can be seen in the long text of UD or In Change history in QM view.For accessing this long text you may have to use function module READ_TEXT

I have NWDS installed on my system but I dont know whether it is a NWDS2004 or NWDS2004s . How do I know it?

Hi bharath,
Although your query has been rightly answered by akshaya, I would still like to point out that you should not say NWDS2004 or NWDS2004s. As mentioned in the link provided by akshaya, NWDS 2.0.* is generally used for working with NW2004 and NWDS7.0.* is generally used for working with NW2004s.
Also note, NW2004 is the complete Netweaver package of version 2004, NWDS is the Netweaver Developer Studio, notice the difference between these.

Reg : Web Services and Usage of SOAP

Hi All,
How to handle 3 million messages per day using WebServices & SOAP? Do I need to setup an Asynchronous or Synchronous Scenario?
But If I use Synchronous Scenario, imagine for 3 million messages, XI server has to send response back to sender.
Please guide me on this.

thats depends upon ur requirement!!if u need the response of SOAP request then ur scenario will be synchronous.may be u can split the scenario into 2.
1)consume the webservice
2)response from the reciver to the sender...
it may decrease the overhead...

Reg:usage of 7.1v NWDS

Hi experts
i am working now on 7.1v NWDS .But when i try to deploy it is giving below error.
error :Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at h2syss.vctl.ad.
More Over i have specified the properties under window->preferences->SAP AS JAVA .
But when i have given instance name and instance No .Register Sap System.
In the table column it is giving two instance host and no.
that is h2syss 1
h2syss.vctl.ad 0.
can any one help me out.
How to resolve this issue.

Hi Deepika,
The possible error are :
1. The user id and password you are using may not have deploying rights.
2. The Network might be fluctuating one.
3. The Instance could have changed ie the server would have restarted and port could have changed.
It is always suggested that to add server instance just before you deploy and after the server has taken a restart.

Reg:Adobe Flex Application in NWDS 7.0

Hi,
I would like to create a Flex Application in NWDS 7.0.I tried to add Adobe Flex plugin to NWDS.It ended up with some warning.Still I am not finding any option to create flex project.
My question is Flex plug-in works only with 7.1.Or can I really create flex project using NWDS 7.0.If yes what is the plug-in version should i use?

Hi Ayyappa,
As I mentioned , I tried to add Adobe flex plugin 3.0 to NWDS.It came up with an error saying "Supported version of eclipse not found".
So I installed the eclipse 3.2 and added flex plug in to this eclipse,created the flex project .
Added this project structure to the web module project in NWDS and packed it to Application Module project and deployed it to the portal.
Created an URL iveiw in the portal.This is the way I am trying to integrate flex applications in portal.
To integrate flash Islands in WebDynpro,I need NWDS7.1. But I am working on NWDS 7.0.
Can I deploy the applications developed using NWDS 7.1 into Portal 7.0.Will that be compatible ?????
I need suggestion on the same.Is there any other way that I can look into.

Usage of the xp20:matches() - String function -reg

Hi,
Our current requirement is that if we receive the message that matches the pattern (Ie input starting with A to L) both inclusive(for eg : A123 , B567,... ,L890),we need to perform some routing in the mediator depending upon the message. I have tried to make use of the xp20:matches() function for checking the input, as per the dev guide.
Sample code used in filter expression in mediator:

<expression>xpath20:matches($in.request/cb1:singleString/cb1:input,'^[A-L]*$')</expression>
</condition>
Is there anything wrong in the usage of the matches function, as there seems to be some issues in the filter expression.
All the other logical functions and Startswith function seems to work well.
Any pointers would help.

Hi there,
If you want to match any word which starts with A-L character then use ^[A-L]
If you want to have exactly three numbers after first character (and nothing more) use ^[A-L][0-9]{3}$

Reg. files missing in NWDS

Hi all,
I am having an issue regarding NWDS i.e. when I took backup of the applications for reinstallation of NWDS, .classpath,.metamodel,.project,.tssapinfo etc files are missing from my applications. Now I am unable to open these applications in NWDS ,its giving an error that .project is missing .I reguest kindly to give your valuable suggestions for getting these file back in my applications so that i can proceed further in developing my application.I am inneed of it.

Hi Aravind
When you create an "empty project you will get those missing files e g .project, .classpath. Then you just import your backuped files that contains your views, component(s), windows etc.
Of course you probably need to modify your buildpath if you have dependencies in your project that is not standard.
Maybe I'm not understanding you correctly?

Material Master : Products and services are combined in the SAP R/3 System under the term material. All information necessary for the management of a material and its stocks, as well as its use, is maintained in the material master record. This includes, for example, data on purchasing, on sales and on storage, Accounting, etc.
Material Type groups Materials with similar attributes.This allows to manage materials with similar
attributes in a uniform manner as per the companyu2019s requirement
Material Type controls:
Number Assignment (Internal or External). It also controls the Number Range IntervalWhether to have Internal (In house manufacturing) and/or External Procurement
Which types of Views (Purchasing, MRP, Sales, Accounting, etc) need to be displayed
Which Screen appears and in what sequence
The Fields in Material (optional, required, display or suppressed)
Along with Plant it controls:
Whether changes in quantity are updated in
Material Master
Whether changes in value are updated in the
stock accounts in Financial Accounting
So based on material type different user department can maintain the data.
E.g for ROH material purchasing ivew is mandatory so purchasing department can maitain thier dat.
Same way for FERT, sales view is important which is related to sales department. If material is warehouse maanged then stores department will maintain warehouse views.

I am developing an application in NWDS, in which i have to put checkboxgroup in a view. I did it. but when the Appl. is deployed in th view I am getting only one check box.without any name.plz give me an idea to insert checkboxgroup through coding into the view...would you provide me any coding.....?

Equipment usage list-Reg

Dear PM Guys,
Is there is any standard report in which I can see the equipment usage list for sub equipments.Because the scenario is FL-MAIN EQUIPMENT-SUB EQUIPMENTS.They always keep on move sub equipments from one main equipment to other main equipment inside the same FL.In IE07 report,it shows usage list based on FL.Eg. Equipment KL322567(in my case its sub-equipment) from XX.XX.XXXX date to YY.YY.YYYY date one FL and like that.But I want both Main equipment and FL.Is it possible in standard?

in standard report IE07 you have to trace back only from functional location only ,i dont think there will be any standard report for sub equipment.try to create a custom report with the help of abaper

Reg: Upgrading NWDS

Hi experts!!
I have downloaded NWDS 7.1 from sap downloads and installed it in my personal computer. Now to work with it I need to upgrade it. My problem is I dont have S user ID. Is there any other way that i can upgrade my software?

Dear Pavani,
You can register for your own s user id. The process is pretty simple. Just note the installation number of your dev server / licensed ECC server using SAP GUI. Just go to System -> Status. Note down the installation number. Now register at service.sap.com. Now you can go ahead and update NWDS from the central server.
