Reg:portal internationalization

hi all
i am working on portal internationalization,here my issue is how can i change the content which is available in table or application into target language.i am able to change just the i view names and field names of table but not the data .is there any procedure for changing the content to target language in portal.if any idea plz share with me.

Hi Deepika,
When we talk about data in the table, Its definitely not being stored in PCD. Portal Translation only help to translate content part of PCD.
For Data,
You can actually look for the backend(I mean the DATA SOURCE) and use the required translation method.

Reg Portal Navigation

Hello
I have the following requirement to be fulfilled, can any body help me please
I have two roles say role1 and role2 attached to my user ID.
role1 is the Entry point and in role2 i have a workset say workset1 which is the entry point.
Now
in role1 i have attached a webdynpro IVIEW which has only 1 button say "GO TO ROLE2".
<b>My requirement is when i click that button it should go to workset1 highlighting that tab.</b>
i have tried with Absolute navigation it goes to the target page but opens up in role1 only.
I have also tried with URL saying NavigationTarget it opens up full Portal page.
Relative navigation i have a doubt whether it will work for 2 different roles, i.e can we navigate between two roles.

Portal Internationalization

HI All,
We have a requirement, the portal should give the user an option of choosing the language of his choice from a list of languages (English & Arabic). On the selection of an option, the language of portal must change respectively. The user will not be an Anonymous but a logged in user.
Could any one help me out with this?

HI, Michael
Through the "Personalize" Link (eu_role), we can get the liberty of changing the language. I tried and successfully did it. The next issue I am facing is, how to have restrictions in Personalize link, which I think can be done by editing the sub roles attached in EU_ROLE.

The best in these situations is always to put yourself into the position to ask the questions:
Imagine someone comes up to you, and you want to find out, what he/she knows about portal - what questions would you ask then?
If you do this the right way, usually you will find yourself asking tricky questions quite soon, maybe more than you want to
But don't hesitate, half of such interviews is about how you answer, not about what you answer. (So not every little detail is necessary)

Hi all,
I have report in portal. The width of the each column is varying according to the length of the heading/description of field. I want all the columns to be of same width irrespective of the header size.
Can anyone give me the steps..I am new to portal...

Are you working on BI or are you working on Portal?
I am working on Portal. I just asked a BI person in my project regarding your requirement. What I have come to know is that you do not have any control on the column widths of the report, except controlling it by the length of the column heading. So I guess what you wish to do is not possible.

Portal Server by defaults requires Access Manager, so there should be no issue/other way to implement portal server without Access Manager.

For webdynpro java application , the property namespace is generally DC name or Project Name .
For webdynrp ABAP , Namespace property is "sap " or development class .

Error in accessing supplier registration portal

Hi,
I have assigned annoynomus user with role SAP_EC_BBP_CREATEVENDOR and SAP_EC_BBP_CREATEUSER with user type as SERVICE to the application ROS_SELF_REG. Now when i try to open the Supplier Reg Portal iam getting the below error.
"Business Server Page (BSP) error"
The following error text was processed in the system:
Message E COM_CATEGORY 801 cannot be processed in plugin mode HTTP
When i delete the this user from the application ROS_SELF_REG, then i am able to login into the web pasge with individual user id.
Please can some one tell me where the problem would and is there any additional check i need to do for this to be working.

Hello,
You will have to maintain the entries in table TWPURLSVR to fix this.
I noticed that different paths were set to SAP_BSP in this table.
Because of this, an incorrect URL was being generated.
URL PATH sap/bc/bsp
It should contain /gui/sap/its/ instead of /bsp/
Remove these entries (leave them blank) and check the issue.
I mean to say, the entries in TWPURLSVR PATH KEY SAP_BSP was wrong
and entry should be /gui/sap/its/ instead of /bsp/ which you did.

I am setting up SAP ESS EHP5 with EP 7.3. The overview page is working but nothing happens when clicking on the service links, and this info message is generated for each click:

The permission for root folder and system connection includes Everyone with end user right.
We installed all required packages and components as below and assigned a copy of the composite role SAP_EMPLOYEE_ESS_WDA_1 to the testing user (with country-specific roles removed except for Canada).

Business Package for Common Parts 1.51
SAP ESS 633
PCUI_GP 633
2. SAP ERP Core Components (SAP ECC) 6.0 with the following extensions:

We are running ERP6 with EHP5 and EP 7.3.

Hi all,
i am trying to work on internationalization concept.
My requirement is at the time of user creation if no language is set then browser language need to work.
With the help of Iuser i can access user property, but i didn't got any function for language, for Locale is there i.r user.getLocale() may be.
Is this locale will give the Language set at the time of user creation.
How to deal with the Server Locale/Language, User Language and Browser language setting.
In what order in the code level i need to manage these three and how.

For Internationalization of Dynpro Applications, you need to maintain .xlf files as in the [tutorial|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c6cfad90-0201-0010-a5b8-8f9486346059].
Browser settings needed to display application in particular language.

You can use properites file for you requirement see the below code how to use the properties file in web-INF/classes

Internationalization in Portals

Hi All,
I am trying to do an application in Internationalization in portals.
-> For that I have prepared the properties files and kept them in the dist\private\classes folder.
-> Written the code for accessing the resource bundle by using getString() method of ResourceBundle in doContent() method.
deployed the application.
-> then runned the application. but the text are not changing in the displayed page.
-> I have changed the language settings also.
Please help me in this regard..... im unable to fix the issue.

Hi Bhavya,
Please check with the property file path once (looks like you missed the PORTAL-INF). Also try printing the values so that you get the idea where exactly the problem is.
