Reg Printing Web Dynpro form

Hi All,
I have a View which has Tabstrip UI. The TabStrip contains 4 tabs and each tab has a view in it.
I want to print the View.
I was going through a few threads on Web Dynpro form printing. One of options available is using createExternalWindow method. Can anyone tell me what can be the URL of View 1 which is embedded in Window1.
Regards
Nikhil Bansal

Hi Nikhil,
             If it is default View, then the URL is your apllication URL [what you get in the browser after <i>deployment and run</i>].

Siva

  • Submit Web Dynpro form to external URL

    Is there a way to submit a Web Dynpro form to an external url using the POST method?
    I am able to use the onExit plug to pass a URL and submit query string parameters to the external url.  My concern with this solution though is that the query string has length limits in different browsers (IE 2048 chars, etc.).
    Any help/direction would be great.

    Hi
    You can create a html page as a web resource and write an active script in it so that it submits itself.
    I am not sure if it will work. But give it a try.
         StringBuffer sb = new StringBuffer();
         sb.append("<html>");
         sb.append("<head>");
         sb.append("<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">");
         sb.append("function submitForm(){");
         sb.append("document.form.submit();");
         sb.append("}");
         sb.append("</script>");
         sb.append("</head>");
         sb.append("<body onload="submitForm()">");
         sb.append("<form method=post action="Your_Active_Script" name="form">");
          Similarly append body of the form
             Which might include hidden parameters
         sb.append("</form>");
         sb.append("</html>");
         IWDCachedWebResource webResource = WDWebResource.getWebResource(sb.toString().getBytes(),WDWebResourceType.HTML);
         try {
              wdComponentAPI.getWindowManager().createExternalWindow(webResource.getURL(),"Some Title",false).open();
         } catch (WDURLException e) {

  • Connecting to R/3 System through Java Web Dynpro forms.

    Hi,
    I have a requirement in which I have to send data to R/3
    from Java Web Dynpro screens.
    I will design the Java Web Dynpro screens and write a RFC Model.
    I will write a RFC in se37 which will connect to the RFC Model.
    Before creating the RFC in se37, I will create ztables in se11.
    I will write a ABAP Report to see that all data enters the ztables.
    I need some guidance with regard to this.
    Do, the RFC Model have the access of the ECC(R/3) System.
    What are tasks to be told the Basis guy so, that RFC being called from through Java Web Dynpro?
    Please provide me some documents with regards to this scenario.
    Regards
    Neha Singh

    Hi Neha,
    The steps you provided is clear enough to connect to a R/3 system through the WD forms.
    On creating the model you need to give two inputs such as
    logical system name for model instance
    logical system name for RFC metadata
    there will be 2 default values, also you can create your own JCOs in the <servername>:<port>/devinf of the server or u can ask your basis team also.
    Before creating the JCO , the SLD (System Landscape Directory) needs to be configures, that your basis team will know.
    other than that once you create the functional module in se37 make it RFC enabled , and once you import the RFC model , you can give your ECC system user name and password and search for RFC you have created from the list of RFC.

  • Dynamic navigation, on HCM Process and Forms "Web Dynpro FORM"

    Hi,
    I'm trying to solve an issue regarding dynamic navigation, on a enhacement done at the Web Dynpro ABAP QISR_UI component for HCM Process and Forms.
    I'm hiding the Adobe Form, and doing "do_dynamic_navigation" for a dynamic generated view container present at the VIEWSHOWFORM on the QISR_UI component.
    The code works great, i.e.: the Adobe Form remains hidden and the custom form, using Web Dynpro appears.
    I'm also using the HRASR00_PROCESS_EXECUTE_1 component to execute a Portal IView (Floorplan based component).
    When the process is started, and the folowing actions are executed:
    1- Select Employee
    2- Select Process
    3- Edit form
    4- Press back (for example if the wrong process is selected)
    5- Select the Process
    6- Edit form again
    There is a NULL exception, the "embedding_vca" (below) is NULL

    Hello,
    Basically what I did was replacing the Adobe Form, by a Web Dynpro component that contains its own form, and associated logic.
    Tecnically the steps to acomplish the task were:
    1º Development of a component for showing a form. ( I suggest you to start with just a "hello world" or something very basic )
    2º Enhance the QISR_UI component (VIEWSHOWFORM view, on the modify view method), something like
    if form scenario = XXXXX then
    hide the adobe form;
    create a custom view container (the problem I had above), and create an instance of the component created on step 1
    end if
    3º Access the context that the original form returns (you can check the context debugging the VIEWSHORFORM view )
    4º Pass the context to the component created..
    I can't provide further details on this, I'm sorry...
    I do not suggest doing this, this was a requirement so I had to do it... But this requires a lot of workarrounds, and lots of small changes in standard code related with process and forms... It's not, also, a "clean" solution

  • Portal web dynpro form link as email .

    Dear All
    The requirement goes like this:
    We are developing a form in web dynpro and integerating into portal as an iview.
    Whenever the user submits a new form we should send a link of the form in portal to the user as email (with some parameters like form id for the webdynpro to open the correct form)
    How can build this link to the portal form dynamically and send it?
    As this web dynpro application will be accessed form different portal .I do not prefer hardcoding the host or url etc.
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    PS : Portal and web bynpro are on different system..

    I think this should be possible by passing the parameters via URL. You will have a URL created for your webdynpro application. Now add the URL parameters as name-value pairs separated by "&". Send this URL as the email. For example the URL might look like
    http://<Static URL to the webdynpro application>&FORMID=1234
    Insert the appropriate code in your webdynpro application to read the parameters values from URL. I am not giving the code here as i am not sure if it is WDJ or WDA application but in either case u have separate classes which reads the URL parameters.
    As this web dynpro application will be accessed form different portal .I do not prefer hardcoding the host or url etc.
    Can you please clarify more on this. Irrespective of your application (WDA or WDJ) i believe there shud be a static URL to access your webdynpro application (atleast a blank application without data).
    Thanks,
    Prasath N

  • Reg Simple Web Dynpro Application

    Hello Gurus,
    I am developing a simple Web Dynpro Application that displays just Purchase Header Details.
    It says the runtime Error, "The exception CX_WD_CONTEXT" was raised but was not caught at any stage in Call Hierarchy.
    Any Suggestions would be rewarded.....
    Regards
    Jay

    Hi,
    I have pasted the short dump....
    ===========================================================
    Runtime Errors         UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION
    Except.                CX_WD_CONTEXT
    Date and Time          27.02.2007 11:48:17
         ShrtText
              An exception that could not be caught occurred.
         What happened?
              The exception 'CX_WD_CONTEXT' was raised but was not caught at any stage in the
              call hierarchy.
              Since exceptions represent error situations, and since the system could
              not react adequately to this error, the current program,
               'CL_WDR_CONTEXT_NODE_VAL=======CP', had to
              be terminated.
         What can you do?
              Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
              and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
              error.
              To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
              You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
               termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
              date.
              is especially useful if you want to keep a particular message.
         Error analysis
              An exception occurred. This exception is dealt with in more detail below
              . The exception, which is assinged to the class 'CX_WD_CONTEXT', was not
               caught,
              which led to a runtime error.
              The reason for this exception is:
              Die Anzahl der Elemente der Kollektion des Knotens INDEX.1.EKKO_ITAB verletzt
              die Kardinalität.
         How to correct the error
              You may able to find an interim solution to the problem
              in the SAP note system. If you have access to the note system yourself,
              use the following search criteria:
              "UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION" CX_WD_CONTEXTC
              "CL_WDR_CONTEXT_NODE_VAL=======CP" or "CL_WDR_CONTEXT_NODE_VAL=======CM001"
              "CHECK_COLLECTION"
              If you cannot solve the problem yourself and you wish to send
              an error message to SAP, include the following documents:
              1. A printout of the problem description (short dump)
                 To obtain this, select in the current display "System->List->
                 Save->Local File (unconverted)".
              2. A suitable printout of the system log
                 To obtain this, call the system log through transaction SM21.
                 Limit the time interval to 10 minutes before and 5 minutes
                 after the short dump. In the display, then select the function
                 "System->List->Save->Local File (unconverted)".
              3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
                 supply the source code.
                 To do this, select the Editor function "Further Utilities->
                 Upload/Download->Download".
              4. Details regarding the conditions under which the error occurred
                 or which actions and input led to the error.

  • Web Dynpro - transform into PDF format

    Hi all,
    I would need your help. Now I am participating at a Web Dynpro project and one task is to realize PDF transformation and printing of Web Dynpro forms.
    That means we would place a button on the form called "Transform to PDF". If a user push this button in the browser, the page he is seeing has to be transformed into the PDF format and later printed as a normal PDF file.
    What is the best way to implement this?
    Thanks,
    Oleksandr

    There is no real alternative for the 'print screen' in WD4A, or the 'print' button (CTRL-P). But what you could do (if there are not too many screens to be printed) is this:
    Create a smartform (or adobe form for that matter), and call this after the print button is pressed. Display the smartform as preview, for where it can be printed via adobe reader.

  • Call a ABAP Web-Dynpro-application via a BSP-Application

    We have a BSP-Framework, that call several applications among other things other BSP-Applications, ITS-Application and other systems. Now I want to integrate a ABAP Web Dynpro-Application.
    For the moment I can call the ABAP Web Dynpro-Application from our application.
    This application runs in the same session as the Framework (verify in transaction sm04).
    When I want to call another application in the Framework, the session will be killed (no more sessions in sm04). This happens also, when I want to call the ABAP Web Dynpro-Application a second time.
    I guess, that the ABAP-Framework thinks I want to go outside the system (for example www.google.de) and close the session. I found out, that this wouldn't happen, if the application were suspended. But I found no way to tell the application via a url-parameter to suspend.
    Can someone help me?

    Thx for the tip,
    but I can't firea suspend plug. Because I'm in BSP. I understand the docu so, that you have the option to call a other apllication like BSP from a ABAP Web Dynpro.
    I want to call the ABAP Web Dynpro form BSP like this way.
    1. Start BSP-Framework
    2. Call ABAP Web-Dynpro-Application from BSP
    3. Call another Application from BSP without automatically logout by unload ABAP Web Dynpro. (I have a chance to call the ABAP Web Dynpro again via url to suspend before I call the other app.)

  • Deletion of data of R/3 table using Web Dynpro

    Hi Experts,
    I have to delete some records from R/3 table CATSDB using Web Dynpro form. I am using BAPI_CATIMESHEETMGR_DELETE for this purpose. Can you please let me know the steps to accomplish this exercise.
    I have displayed the records of CATSDB using one custom made BAPI. Using this BAPI, I am able to display the data. I have created one button called "Delete Data" button on the form. I have called BAPIs using following code:
    public void onActionDeleteData(com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.api.IWDCustomEvent wdEvent )
        //@@begin onActionDeleteData(ServerEvent)
        wdThis.wdGetTimesheetCompController().executeBapi_Catimesheetmgr_Delete_Input();
        wdThis.wdGetTimesheetCompController().executeBapi_Transaction_Commit_Input();
    //@@end
    However, when I am selecting the record and trying to delete the record, record is not getting deleted. Can you please help me in resolving the issues? What is going wrong?
    Regards,
    Brian

    Hi Ashwani,
    I have checked the BAPI - BAPI_CATIMESHEETMGR_DELETE. I am unable to delete the record using even R/3 screen. For deleting the record, I have to provide following four parameters:
    PROFILE, TESTRUN, RELEASE_DATA and AGENT.
    I don't know what should be the value of TESTRUN, RELEASE_DATA and AGENT. I know only the value of PROFILE. From ABAPers, I have come to know that in order to delete the reccord I must provide the value of COUNTER. However, the BAPI,  BAPI_CATIMESHEETMGR_DELETE is not asking me to enter the COUNTER.
    Can you please let me know how to delete the record from BAPI using R/3 screen. After that I will try to delete record using Web Dynpro application.
    Regards,
    Brian

  • Save Web Dynpro Data

    Hi everyone,
    I am working on implementing a GP process in which one of the requirements involves the user being able to save data entered in a Web Dynpro form before moving onto the next action in the process.  Basically, the user requires the ability to launch the process, fill in some data and save the data without completing the process step (i.e., the request is in a 'draft' mode).  That way, the user can close the task for an indefinite amount of time, launch it again in the future, and the data entered beforehand will be displayed.  I am  aware that I can persist the data out to an external table, but I was wondering if there is an easier way (i.e., maybe save it in the process context where it can loaded from when the user launches the task again.)  Right now, I am using NW04s SP09 with Web Dynpro development components implementing the GP interface.
    Thanks,
    Greg

    Greg,
    You can save your data as an entity object using CAF Core. It will persist the data in the CAF layer. Once saved, you can use it on any subsequent GP steps.
    Thanx,
    Mahesh

  • Convert  Web Dynpro to PDF

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement of converting a web dynpro form to a pdf file. The data in the web dynpro form should be written into PDF.
    I have gone thru the Wroking with PDFObject tutorial.The tutorial talks abt using EJBs and converting the xml file to pdf. Is it possible for me to convert the form to XML without using EJB and then convert it to PDF.
    Also, for converting the XML file to PDF, are all the pre-requisites required :
    1. Adobe LiveCycle Designer
    2. Active Component Framework (ACF) of the Interactive Forms
    3. Adobe document services are configured on the SAP J2EE
    Plz comment.
    Nikhil

    Hi,
    If you have Adobe Doucment Services installed then you can do it by getting
    the 'pdfResource' context value which is a byte array that contains the PDF.
    If not, try using 'itext': http://www.lowagie.com/iText/

  • Problem Web Dynpro Java applications using JasperReports

    Hello all,
    We have followed the footsteps of these blogs but we can not make it work.
    Part I --> Part-I: Print Web Dynpro Java applications using JasperReports
    Part II --> Part-II: Print Web Dynpro Java applications using JasperReports
    Part III --> Part-III: Print Web Dynpro Java applications using JasperReports
    Details system: 7.02 SP3
    We believe that the problem is in the library, because it finds them.
    1) We created project as a DC external library with *.jars
    2) Public part DC external library.
    3) Add public part of DC Library into new project DC WebDynpro Java.
    4) Development Component -> Build is OK
    5) Development Component -> Deploy is OK
    6) Test app ERROR.
    When we run the application shows the error:
    The initial exception that caused the request to fail, was:

    Hello John,
    Thanks for the link. We have performed the steps in this blog:
    1) Create DC Project "External Library" with name js/jars:
    - Add *.jars in folder Libraries.[Screenshot Libraries|http://img846.imageshack.us/img846/8395/jsjars.jpg]
    - Add archives (*.jar) to public part with name ExternalLib. Which option to choose?
    a- Provides an API for developing/compiling other DCs (Option chosen)
    b- Can be packaged into other build results (eg SDAs)
    - Development Component -&gt; Build
    Step 1 is OK.
    2) Create "J2EE Server Component / Library" DC with name js/lib:
    - Add Used DC -> public part project ExternalLibrary -> "ExternalLib"
    - Specify both build time and run-time dependency here and strong.
    - Generated SDA file in <var>gen/default/deploy</var> How do we check that it contains <var>js.jar</var>?
    - folder gen/default/plublic/defLib/lib/java then you meet *.jars files again. is OK.
    - Development Component -> Deploy.
    - Go to Visual Administrator. We found the library js/lib, but has no associated *. jar. It is the problem.[Screenshot Visual Administrator|http://img542.imageshack.us/img542/5537/visualadminlib.jpg]
    3) Create "WebDynpro" DC with name pdf_jasper
    - Add used DC (defLib) to WebDynpro DC with option "Build time".
    - WebDynpro References -> Library references --> add <var>jslib
    - Deploy
    - Run error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: net/sf/jasperreports/engine/JRDataSource
    Regards,
    Luis.

  • Integrate Web Dynpro with Flash Viewer for JasperReports

    Hello,
    I am trying to integrate the Flash Viewer with Web Dynpro in order to render the jasper reports generated in my web dynpro component. I am using a Flash Island within the view which has the SWF file bound to it.
    I need to pass the URL of the XML report to an attribute called FlashVars of the embed tag, where the flashviewer SWF file is embedded.
    What I have done so far is: created a property named "FlashVars" for the flash island, and then pass the file location of the generated report to it. However I am not getting the report rendered in the Flash Viewer.
    Best Regards,
    Baez

    Take a look at these 2 blogs:
    /people/jawed.ali/blog/2009/02/09/part-i-print-web-dynpro-java-applications-using-jasperreports
    and
    /people/jawed.ali/blog/2009/10/21/part-ii-print-web-dynpro-java-applications-using-jasperreports
    Instead I'm interested in Part III (We will be integrating JasperReports into WDJ applications.) just do not find this blog

  • Issue While printing / Previewing a Adobe form in Web Dynpro ABAP application

    Dear All,
    We have designed 4 different adobe forms using SFP transaction for 4 different countries in SAP system.
    Every country have different terms and conditions and therefore we have placed static texts (Hardcoded text) with text in different styles. Some text is in bold, some in different font (Bold, Italic). Font and Paragraph settings of the text was done as per expected. All the forms have same font and paragraph settings.
    When we Launch Web Dynpro ABAP application to open the form in Print preview or to take print, form is not getting displayed / printed as it is designed in SFP. But if you open the form in SFP, everything looks fine.
    It is working fine for 3 different forms but problem with only 1 form.
    Kindly guide what is the reason for this strange issue when previewed or taken print. It is very urgent.
    Thanks,
    Bharath.K

    Dear All,
    Thanks for your responses.
    We had identified the reason.
    Customer has provided terms and conditions for all 4 countries in PDF document. Along with PDF, for 3 out of 4 countries customer has shared pre-prepared word document with pre aligned and justified terms and conditions as per expected outcome. We copied this text from word to Adobe form layout. It worked fine. For 1 country, customer have not shared terms and conditions in word document. Therefore we had copied text directly from adobe PDF document in to Form layout. Then this issue happened.
    Solution for this issue is to, prepared a word document with expected alignment and justification of terms and conditions text . Then copied from word to adobe livecycle designer form layout. It worked fine.
    Thanks,
    Bharath.
