Reg Query designer - Urgent
Hello all,
In the Query designer we have a structure in which I would like to edit one of the K.F . For example the K.F is a Formula K.f which is built on Fiscal year & Amount Now I've to include version to this K.F.
Please let me know how this can be done at the earliest.
Regards
Madhavi
Hi thanks for the quick response..
I just want to change a K.F in the Structure i.e I want to edit the re-useable strucure by adding a component 0version to this K.F.
I am unable to restrict the K.F when I right click the K.F I can see only edit but not restrict..
Plz suggest

Hi,
I'm designing a query. The details are below;
In the row I have the characteristics
1. Division
2. Channel
3. Material
In the column I have the keyfigure
1. Sales quantity
2. Sale value
We have about 10 channels. When the channel is 'CM' we need to restrict the Sales quantity and Sales value to a particular Customer. The remaining channels will be without any restrictions. How can I achieve this? Please advice.
Thanks.Hi Morpheus,
You can do it in a number of ways. Define a variable, write a relevant customer exit which puts the required restrictions which is obviously a tedious task.
Else what I would recommend is to forward this data from the current data provider to a new data provider and with the help of the ABAP routines, you can provide the above restrictions in this routine.
Let me know.

Query design (urgent)
hello sir
i want to create the query (key figure) structure same as that of
valuated stock (0IC_C03_Q0006) standard query for another query .
it's sound really silly but plz guide us.
thanksHi,
You can Copy the Standard Query with new Technical Name by using Tcode RSZC, so that the existing Query won't effects. Or else as told above, you open the Quey and Select Save As option give New Technical Name.

Reg Structures in Query Designer
Hi,
Can someone explain the following regarding Structures usage in Query Designer
1. Limitations of Structures usage
2. When to use Structures and when not to use them in Query Designer
Thanks in Advance
Regards
AVS ReddyHi,
Structures in Query designer are reusable across all the queries for particular info provider once you save in the query designer.

Structres and cells in Bex query designer?? urgent plz
hi experts,
could you please give me the useful info. regarding structres and cells with the examples.
thanks in advance
regards
vadlamudi1. In the Query Designer, choose Cells (open) from the toolbar or use the menu option under View to reach the Cell Editor functions.
2. You can now use four different functions.
New Selection
u2022 Select a cell in the Cells dialog box, and use the right mouse
button to choose New Selection.
u2022 Define the required selection.
u2022 Enter a description for the selection and choose OK.
New Formula
u2022 Select a cell in the Cell dialog box, and use the right mouse button to choose New Formula.
u2022 Define the required formula. Enter a description for the formula
and choose OK.
New Cell Reference
Each cell that you define can be reused in formulas. If you want to reuse the value of the implicit generic cell definition that automatically occurs at the intersection of two structure parts of a query, select this cell in the Cell Definition dialog box, and choose New Cell Reference using the right mouse button. The description arising from the two structure parts
automatically appears in the cell. You can now refer to this cell.
Additional cells
Click on the cell adjacent to the Help Cells and choose the required option if you need additional cells for auxiliary selections or formulas which are not already included in the query structure you have defined from the construction of rows and columns.

Problem with Queries Structures in Bex Query Designer and Universe Designer
Hi everyone,
I have a problem when i try to do a Universe from a Bex Query Designer.
When I use a Characteristic Restrictions in a Structure, the universe only show me the structure without the objects inside it.
EJ:
1) Bex Query Designer
Colunms
(Structure) ZSRT_123
- (Characteristic Restrictions) Reg Guayana
> (InfoObject) 0Product = 'XXX'
> (InfoObject) 0Country = 'YYY'
- (Characteristic Restrictions) Reg Caracas
> (InfoObject) 0Product = 'AAA'
> (InfoObject) 0Country = 'BBB'
Rows
(Structure) ZSRT_456
(Key Figure) Net Sales
2) Universe designer
(Class) ZSRT_456
>(Measure) Net Sale
(Class) ZSRT_123
>(Dimension) ZSRT_123
The universe dont translate the two Characteristic Restrictions in the structure ZSRT_123.
Any information would be much appreciated. Thank you.Hi,
I assume that you are using BOE XI 3.1 SP2.
We have added an option in SP2 to generate or not the L00 level.
Unfortunately this option applies not only on characteristics but also on hierarchies, hierarchies variables and structures: that's the reason why you have no elements belonging to the structure generated.
I recommend to always generate L00 in order to have your structure generated correctly.
This issue will be fixed in SP3.

Query opening error in query designer.
Hi All,
Iam trying to open a query in query designer and iam getting an error like
"The component was edited with a more recent version of the editor.you also have to use the more recent version to edit further. Further processing not possible.Update your front end."
what does it mean, in case of changes how to find new query name.
Thanks,
V.SinghHi,
This is hap[pening because, you are using an older version of the SAP Front end (Probably 3.5) to open a query which was modified/created in 7.x So upgrade the front end verison on ur system. This should solve ur problem

Error in execution of query's from Query Designer
Hi,
We have recently installed the BI 7 server, when i execute the query from query designer i got the following URL:
http:///irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?QUERY=TEST_REP&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=2
due to that page is not displayed, i guess there is some sort of hostname setting need to be done.
Can anybody please guide me where all these settings are done, help required urgently ?
Thanks in advanceIn fact the query's are not running because this entry needs to be maintained in the below path:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Maintain this as the last entry below the localhost
<bi server ip> <host name>.
This entry is to be maintained whenever we dont see the host name in the url. -

Thanks in advanceHello Dipika
May be you have not included host string in logon pad.
1. Open SAP log on pad
2. Select the system and go to change mode
3. you have IP defined for the system, here you need to put host string name which u can get from C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc file for your SAP system in your system.
4. Save and exit.and run query again
Thanks

Attribute not visible in the Query Designer
Hi,
I am not able to see 0BPPartner as attribute of object 0Customer in the Query designer .It is marked as display attribute. For some user its visible & for Some not.
Please help me its very urgent.
Thanks & regards,
AnitaHi Anita,
As you stated earlier that some users are able to see it and some are not then it surely is a Authorization/Profile issue. Speak to the BASIS/person who manages this to resolve the issue.

hi all,
while i am trying to do changes in BEX Query designer, following error occurs and not allowing me do the changes(like drag and droppinf of char and key fig in rows and colums)
errors
1 Bex transport request is not suitable or available
2 choose an existing request
please suggest asap.
thanxhello,
Firstly log off from the query designer.
From RSA1->Transport connection ->select ur query->transfer only necessary objects.
Then on the right side panel when scrolling to the right u can see the request to which the query is assigned to.
If u see any query objects in any other request which u do not want to be,remove the objects from that transport.
Then come back to query designer, check the query for syntax errors, make the changes u wnat to do and save now to your transport request.

How to subtract 0Base_line date from 0Clearing date in query designer??

Pls suggest. Itz very urgent.

Deepak.Hi
Thanks for your prompt reply.
But if any of the date is 'blank' then while subtracting 0Base_line date from 0Clearing date it is giving some value (like 78,90345).Actually i want *'No of days'* to be displayed.
Date format is dd/mm/yyyy (12/6/2007)
Pls help.
Also i want Grading to be assigned in alphabets(as A, B and C) instead of numbers (1 ,2 and 3). Is there any way in Query designer to achieve such type of grading?
Pls suggest
