currently we are using R/3 4.7 version and middle ware we are using is i-way and we are planning to upgrade to ECC 6.0 and i would like to know how compatible is i-way is with SAP ECC 6.0 and is there any neccessity to replace the same with PI.
and currently we are using RFC as a method of communication between R/3 and i-way and in future i don't want to change the existing coding , is it feasible to use PI via RFC.
As i am ABAPer, i am new to this PI and please let me the know the risks involved and it is viability.

I can only repeat myself.
SAP doesn't know all software on the planet that connects to it, the third party vendors (in your case iWay) only know whether the software does work with a specific release or not. SAP may have notes with specific problems for a certain environment but they don't know whether version X works with SAP version Y (how should they?)

Hi Gavin,
you should always use the SQL EE for SAP installations (because of additional features that only come with EE).
Concerning SQL 9 or SQL 10, I would definitely go for SQL 10. It has some nice features like Backup Compression, Page/Row Compression and so on. Have a look [here|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/60a236a2-8104-2b10-5ebe-8fef61cc82fd]. Just make sure that your installation meets the SR3 requirements.
We already have SQL 10 in production and did not encounter any problems.

Reg: Replacement of second occurance of character in string

Hi,
Consider one string1 = 'ABCDAE' OR string2 = 'SHEETAL'.
I want to replace the second occurance of A in above string1.and second occurance of E in above string2 with any differnt character.
I tried with offset calculation , length , replace , split stmts.
but always first occurance is getting replace.
Please provide your ideas.

Premiere CC latest update. Mac Mavericks
I would like to disply multiple lines of text for each clip in the Project Panel.
I have a couple paragraphs in the Description box, and I would like to be able to read all the text in the Description box.
As it stands, it is very difficult to read more than one sentence in the Description box.
Is there any way that I can view all the text in the Description box?

To keep some tags and remove unused tags in the schemaxml file the multiple line of text, you can use regular expression to remove the unwanted tags.
Here is a sample code snippet:

Do you still have access to the old MacBook Pro? If so, you can transfer the license by copying the com.apple.iwork.plist from Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences to the same location on the new Mac. Note that this IS the main HD Library, not your user library. I have found that these files are not moved during setup or migration.
Are you really running Tiger 10.4.7? If so, you should update to 10.4.11. You can find the updater here. You also might consider buying the retail disk of iWork '09 from a third-party such as Amazon.com or eBay. It will add a lot of features for you. iWork '09 does require Tiger 10.4.11 at a minimum.

i need to design a scenario using value mapping .i have nearly 600 records to be replaced but i observed in the configuration part that we have to enter all the values manually which is not prefferable for 600 records. so is there any alternative to place the values like copy paste from excel sheet.

there is something called value mapping mass replication
it's an interface for value mapping table
and you can use it in your own abap report that will
process excel files
but remember you will not see those values in ID
you can only view them from RWB but they will work
in standard value mappings
but I'd suggest doing a normal lookup and not using value mapping tables at all

REG : HOT CODE REPLACE FAILED

Hi,
I am able to build and deploy and it says deployment is successfull from IDE. But when i tried to write some new code into my application or debug it,I am getting the error message saying:
"Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM{PSC-PC11741:500021](may be out of synch) was unable to replace the running code with the code in the work space.
Reason:
Hot code replace failed - VM may be inconsistent
Anybody has faced this problem?
Please let me know if you have faced this problem.

Reg- Device Replacement

Hi,
   I am working on Device Replacement. I have a doubt in that i have 2 device categorys(dcat) having 2 devices. s1 and s2 , and another device category(dcat1) having a device s3. full installation is done for dcat. i tried replacing devices with in same device category s1 and s2 , but its showing ' Device not in specifications' . But s1 got replaced with s3 which is not installed. Is it that we cant replace devices of same device category?

Implementation Considerations

Replace the value 733.534 in reporting.

I am facing one problem in reporting. I am in BI 7.0 environment.
Reports are export to EP everthing is good,
Issue:
one column displaying value like -733.534
my requirement is don't display this value istead of this should display same flag or colour ....
Root cause:
this fields is calculated in the reporting level, so this is not coming from any data target.
calculation: Days from two different Dates.
eg; offer given date - offer excepted date = Days( resulet)
I calculated by farmula with replacement path.
this -733.534 value is displaying only when any one of the two dates are missed then this value will displaying.
if both dates are in reporting calculated value is displyaing right. (currect result).
can any help me how to replace the value -733.534 by any flag or colour.

You can achieve this by using exceptions in Query desigenr.you can put some colours for those values.

Replacing inconsistant spacing with single space in a string

is it possible to replace multiple spaces within a string with one space only. Number of spaces is different all the time.
say one field contains strings with imbedded spaces
I need to replace all these values so that there will be only one space between words.
For Eg.

The problem is that every time I try to open any program from Office 2011, I immediately get the following window, for example for Word: "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." This happens each and every time I try to open Word or other Office 2011 component.
Thinking it might be a licensing issue, I purchased and downloaded a new copy of Office 2011 from Amazon and installed it on my new MBP. Same issue once again.
I tried to remove all copies of Office 2011 from the MBP, but the instructions provided by Microsoft required about three page and seventeen steps and the page was somehow corrupted and would not print in its entirety, nor would it e-mail as anything other than a link to the corrupted page. Not trusting my memory, I decided not to try this without adult supervision.
I used Disk Utility to repair Disk Permissions, as described on an existing thread regarding the same problem, but to no avail.
I removed and later replaced the "Microsoft User Data" folder from the Documents folder, but that was no help.
I have copied the short version of the "Microsoft Error Reporting log version: 2.0," below, for those of you with a deeper knowledge of the internal workings, or non-workings of things Mac when crossed with things MS.
