Reg:RTA Plugin's for Backend system

Hello All,
We have applied VIRSANH RTA Plugin and it's related support packs on our backend ECC system and also the system is HR system so is it mandatory to apply VIRSAHR plugin also .What would happen if we don't apply VIRSAHR package .Would it affect the HR functionality of whole backend system or will it only not allow us to use the HR functionality in GRC.
We are not planning to use any HR functionality in GRC.

Thanks Frank for such a quick reply.The only reason I am asking is what if we go live and later install the VIRSAHR plugin i.e. after a month or two. In the meanwhile will it affect the functionality or affect the backend system.We are on very tight schedule hence all these q's else in ideal scenario we would have installed virsahr and then proceeded with go-live.

Hello,
as we have several backend systems connected to our Portal (NW2004s
SP10) we wonder if there's no possibility to give a user a representative
message if a backend-system is unavailable? Right now we make backups
each weekend. So all backend systems are unavailable for a specific
period of time. If the portal backup is faster than the other backups
the users accesses the portal and encounter several error messages that
the there's a problem. Just a message about having a problem is not
enough. Isn't there any possibility to give a user a representative
message about the actual state of the backend system? Could the backend
iViews not check whether the specific system is availbale or not, and
respond the state? (Prefered with no further coding!)

BI 7.01 SP06 Software Requirements for Backend System (Source System) ECC6

Hello,
We currently have a NW BI 7.0 SP18 system and an ECC 6.0 SP17 system.
We are looking into upgrading our BI 7.0 to a BI 7.0 EhP 1 SP06.
I've been searching for information on any Software requirements for the ECC 6.0 system to make sure it's compatible with the BI 7.0 EhP1 system.
My question is :
Our ECC 6.0 is @ SP 17, which is equivalent to ECC 6.0 EhP 4 SPS 03.
As a prerequisite for BI 7.0 EhP1 I've read ECC6.0 needs to be at EhP4.
1). Is it adequet to have Support Packs equivalent to EhP4?(SP17)
Or do I need to actually apply EhP4 on the ECC 6.0 system?
2). What is the requirement from a PI & PI-Basis prespective on the ECC 6.0 system, for it to work with BI 7.0 EhP 1 SP06?
Our ECC 6.0 currently has PI_Basis 2005_1_700 SP 17.
Where can I fiind information on this?
Any insight would be appreciated.

If its a prerequisite then you have to apply it. When we upgraded our systems we upgraded both ECC and BI to EhP4/NW EhP1 and EhP1 respectively.

Our ECC 6.0 currently has PI_Basis 2005_1_700 SP 17.
PI_Basis on both the systems will be 7.01 as they are upgraded as part of NW EhP1. You have to use Maintenance Optimizer for downloading EhP's which will take care of all the dependencies.

Automated monitoring for backend system connectivity

HI ,
I have a requirement to monitor the system connectivity from portal to back-end (ISU/CRM/UME) and send an alert e-mail to admin group. It should check the connection on a regular interval (say every 30 min) and send a report.

Yes, tell me your customer and i will implement it ... Jokes apart, what do you expect? That we give you a complete solution? You should use the SCN if you have a specific problem but not to get your work done by others. I don't think you will get much help with such a thread.

RTA installation on backend system

Hi Guys,
I have HR module in my backend system. I have completed my installation of the RTA (non-HR) and patch it to the latest patch (patch11). Now I need to install the RTA (HR) in the backend system but I found that the latest patch for the RTA (HR) is only on patch 0009.
Will that cause any problems for me?

the patch-level of the non-HR and HR RTAs are not always the same. Just take the latest of both and you are fine.

Paths for bakend systems are as follows.

Change in backend system

Hi SRM Gurus,
Project Scenario is ECC5 as backend system integrated with SRM 4.0( SSP scenario and with Catalog CCM2.0)
Implementation scenario is Extended classic.
Backend system will be changed to ECC6 from ECC 5.0 with company code consolidation.
ECC6 is installed on separate server for implementing changes in FI (separate Dev, QA, Prod environment ) and will be integrated with SRM4.0
Question is that when we integrate SRM4.0 with ECC6, do we need to run transaction BDLS to change logical system name in SRM for backend system?
As all product categories and vendor are same in ECC 6.0 will this work.
Also there is GUID reference in table CRMLSSGUID & CRMPRLS in R3. How this will be taken care.
Option 2:
no need to run BDLS in SRM. We need to define new backend system and replicate all master data (product categories, UOM & vendor master) from ECC6 to SRM4.0.
SRM experts, please suggest as for me option 2 is suitable way.

In Org structure Product categories will be maintained with Source system (new backend system) in extended attributes. Also for vendors new backend system maintained in attributes.
With these settings user will able to see the product categories, vendors pertaining to New backend system.

Hi experts.
I am implementing SRM 5.0 in a Extendeed Classic Scenario my backend is Ecc 5.0, I have a problem with shopping cart creation, my system not permit creation of incomplete shopping cart, I opened a message in SAP SERVICE and Sap told me that my configuration for backend system is wrong, I tried several types of configuration but nothing works correctly.
Please someone could say me if is it wrong ?

How to use logon group of backend systems via reverse proxy

Hi
we have setup EP 6.0 in DMZ2 and connected backend servers in INTERNAL network. We have another firewall for DMZ1. In order to provide access to EP and respective backend systems, we have installed two reverse proxy servers on Apache, one in DMZ1 and another in DMZ2. We could able to reach to the backend system successfully in this setup by using proper rewrite rule for virtual systems in order to connect to multiple systems.
However we have observed that connection for backend systems is established only to respective CI and not to any of the application server, even though we have created "Load Balancing" systems in EP and used the same logon group of backend systems.
Kindly suggest us if there is any option using which we can establish connection via Load balancing option in this current setup of ours.

Automitic source of supply assignment in backend system for SRM

Hello Experts,
I am facing one issue regarding source of supply for SRM purchase Requisitions in backend ECC system.
When we create a shopping cart in SRM 5.0, a purchase requisition is created in backend and has source of supply assigned to it.
I donu2019t want to assign source of supply to purchase requisitions created for SRM.
Can you please suggest how to achieve this?
Also I think, SRM is internally using BAPI u201CBAPI_REQUISITION_CREATEu201D from backend ECC system for creation of requisition. This BAPI has an importing parameter u2018AUTOMATIC_SOURCEu2019, and if we pass space to this parameter, it creates requisition without assigning source of supply.
If this is correct, then can I use any BADI or customization in SRM to set the value of this parameter as space when SRM calls this BAPI?

waht is the settings you maintained for your product category / purchase group - external procurement .
the above setting determines your follow on documents in the backend systems.

Find exact RFC Destination for Multiple backend Systems In SAP Gateway

I have requirement,if gateway hub system has multiple backend systems( for example two backend systems: ECC and SRM ) then how hub system can get the suitable backend alias for exact entity collection..
Here i have developed two entities one entity regards: ECC and second one regards SRM system..within this when I run the service it is always taking any of the same alias for both the collections..
Can you please suggest me..

Hi Srinivas,
You can add the respective system Alias Name: Like logical system name in your URI also.
Example:
/sap/Service Name;mo=ECCCLNT210/zentity1?Customer1='0001'
/sap/Service Name;mo=SRMCLNT400/zentity2?Customer2='ABCD'

Unable to define connector for multiple backend systems in BRM

Hi,
I am on GRCFND_A V.11 and SP04
I have multiple backend systems integrated with GRC box. So far I was using one backend connector as default one for role maintenance but it is not feasible if you have to create roles in variuos backend connected systems. I know one way to do so, i can keep changing the default connectors whenever i need to create roles but that is obviously not at all the onw any one would like to go with.
So, I tried to create unique connector groups for every individul backend connectors. But the issue is, the moment i assign the backend connector to the respective connector groups, the same gets reflected to other connector groups as well. So, whenever i either add or delete some of the connectors to any connector groups it gets modified/changed from all of the connector groups.
These are the backend connectors where i have to create roles from BRM whenever needed.

I followed to the ink: GRC AC 10 BRM: Default Connectors with Multiple Back-end R/3 Systems , which is the same as mine issue, but not able to come to the solution point.

Backend system for SRM7.0

Hi Experts,
Now my requirement is upgrade SRM3.0 to SRM7.0.
the thing is currently we are using R/34.6C as a backend system for SRM3.0.
now the query is can i go ahead with the upgrade with R/34.6C itself or else i need to upgrade the backend system first to ECC6.0.
I believe R/34.6C will not support to SRM7.0 but i am not sure i am searching for the proper information but i am unable to find it out and one more thing do we need to use the backend system for SRM7.0.
Please can some one share the information regarding the above problem.

Hello Srini,
You can leverage all the functionalities of SRM 7.0 with ECC 6.0 EhP4 only.
Though SRM 7.0 can be implemented with ECC backend as R/3 4.7 or higher, but the functionalities will be limited.

Multiple backend systems for business package ESS/MSS

Hi,
I would like to know whether there is a smart solution for connecting the business package ESS/MSS with multiple backend systems (up to 10 systems).
I am aware of the possibility using parameter "sap-wd-arfc-useSys", but this implies, that content needs to be duplicated n-times in order to be able to maintain the Jco destination suffix.
Any hint, also for custom built solutions are very welcome!
