Reg Settings of SM21

Hi,
I need to see the settings of SM21 of how many days the logs will be maintained in SM21
Please let me know of how to do the same
I see that by specifying a date last year, i get only entries for the last 30 days.But please let me know of where i can change this settings

rslg/local/file
Specifies the location of the local log on the application server.
rslg/collect_daemon/host
Specifies the application server that maintains the central log.
rslg/central/file
Specifies the location of the active file for the central log on the application server.
rslg/central/old_file
Specifies the location of the old file for the central log on the application server.
rslg/max_diskspace_local
Specifies the maximum length of the local log.
rslg/max_diskspace_central
Specifies the maximum length of the central log.
The system log is working like a "ring register" - first in first out. It only depends on the size of the log.

BPC 7 (Microsoft) installed with incorrect regional settings

Hello experts
We have just established that our operating system was installed using the regional setting English (UK) instead of English (US). The symptom we currently have is that in the Report Library we get an error when sorting by date. We have been running BPC for around 4 months now and this is the only problem relating to dates that we have noticed.
We have been advised that the only way to correct this problem is to reinstall the operating system, SQL server and BPC.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Re-installing everything seems like a major undertaking for what appears to be such a small problem. What other problems are we likely to have in the future if we don't reinstall everything?
We are running a single server with:
- Windows 2003 Server R2 Enterprise Edition
- SQL Server Enterprise 2008
- BPC 7.0 (Microsoft) SP04
Any advice gratefully accepted.

Hi You don't need to reinstall.
You just have to do the follow steps:
1. Open COntrol Panel - Regional and Language Options
Advance section - Select English US reg settings and select check box: "Apply the current settings to default user...."
Press Apply and Ok.
2. Open registry editor using regedit command (in comand line)
Go to HKEY_USERS- .Default- Control Panel - International and make sur enow you have English US settings.
If you have then export this key International into a file. US.reg
Check all key from HKEY_USERS- S-1-......- Control Panel - International
If it is any of these key not English US then edit the US.reg and replace .Default with S-1-....
for all occurences.
THis will solve your issue.
Another solution is actually to change for all keys from HKEY_USERS
.Default - Control Panel - International all the date format to be US format not UK format.
But this is a more dangerous change and it was not complete tested.
I suggest the first one which was tested for other customers.

Reg Add problem. Convert from .reg to reg add script

Hi. I'm making a registry script so I can add elements to the registry.
The script is working for DWORDS but I cant get the last one to work.
The registry exportet code I wan't to make a Reg ADD line from is:

Its the "\" that's get messy, don't know how to write reg Add line with that.
If I skip that line the script works, I can then run the .reg file above to complete the reg. settings, but that won't solve my problem.

Those backslashes just indicate line continuations in the .reg file. You don't need them in your reg add version; the binary data can be placed all on one line.
If I remember correctly, you don't need the commas when using "reg add" either, so just this should work. I've used environment variables here to split it up across multiple lines and make it more readable, but that's not actually required:
set REGKEY="hku\temp\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\BrowserEmulation\ClearableListData"

Import Proxy Settings

I can for the life of me figure out how to import proxy reg settings. Here is what I have and I know I am missing something dumb here. I have internet explorer bundle and created and install option within that bundle to import the proxy settings. I have create always selected for both the enable proxy and proxy server. I have published and rebooted many times and it just wont create the setting in the reg. I tried to create the reg entry in the launch option as well and no luck . What am I doing wrong here. I am trying to import this

Movie not loaded on Win 7 - 64bit

Hi all,
this question is in a similar thread as this:

However i have been unable to resolve this issue as the previous poster was.
i have completed 3 separate OS installs of windows 7 (2-64bit installs and 1-32bit install). However i have been unable to resolve my flash problems. Here is the details:
System:
-AMD x2 athlon
-Asus m2-a vm motherboard
-6gb ddr2 ram
-realtek 1gb nic
-xfx nvidia 9600gt
- windows 7
-IE 8/9 attempted
-Chrome attempted
I have so far been unable to get the flash player to load at all. I have tried to load the offline installer as admin user context, and no luck [when i say load i mean the flash player itself, installation of flash has succeeded everytime without issues as have uninstallations.] . I have tried older installers with no luck. i have also tried different browsers. not one combination has worked. I've tried clearing settings on the local 32-bit control panel. However I can't disable the hardware rendering because of the fact it never loads the applet on any of the status pages for me to access.
At current, i have reloaded windows 7 64-bit and am looking for a more in depth answer to see if any ini files or reg settings exist for setting these to software only rendering. However I am not entirely convinced that this is the problem. I think the problem maybe more related to the player specifically not loading the movies or not even properly running the appropriate installed dll`s.
Before you ask, latest nvidia drivers loaded and flash is enabled in add-ons as many of the others have suggested. Please help, this has eaten up a week of my mind now.
Also should note all MS important patches are installed as of 4/8/2012 - and Service Pack 1 is installed on Windows. I've also just completed installing IE 9 on this fresh build of windows 7 64-bit. I've also installed Chrome, this morning and it also received the error "movie not loaded". I'm also using the latest version of 64-bit FLASH (11.x.x.x.x) version that was downloaded this morning.
So I'm now at a stopping point. I cannot use Amazon at all, or Youtube. It appears to load the plugin on some level as I can see the youtube videobox in black and then when I try to right click, it shows "About Adobe Flash 11.xx.x.x.x" or "Movie not loaded"... Thanks again for any assistance you can provide on this.
Update:
After much looking on the forums, I'm now attempting to verify with another functional PC that the actual files are present. I've found that the following files are present on the working system:
The system having the problems appears to be missing alot of these files. The OCX is the only file present. I'm going to see if I can verify what happened here. So hopefully this won't recur. However it looks like there maybe an issue with the installer at this time. I can't imagine how thougth when I've tried downloading the full offline installation version.

This computer has two different versions of Flash Player for Internet Explorer and two different versions of Flash Player for other browsers.
A clean install is recommended:
Windows
Download the current 32 bit uninstaller Uninstaller for 32 bit Operating Systems
Close all browser windows and run the uninstaller
Restart Windows
Delete all remaining files and folders located in the following directories. (tip: copy and paste these paths into the path bar in an Explorer window)
C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flas
%appdata%\Adobe\Flash Player
%appdata%\Macromedia\Flash Player
Verify that the file “FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl” in C:\Window\system32\ for 32 bit systems has been deleted.
Download the following installer files:
32 bit Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
32 bit Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Physically disconnect from the Internet and run the installers.

Failed to set security on SQL Server registry key. Error: 2

Hi,
I have a Primary site (mixed mode) running SCCM 2007 SP1 for many months now with no issues.
This site is made up of two Win 2008 sp2 servers sharing the SCCM roles:-
SCCM01 - Site server, DP, RP, PXE and SQL2005 hosting the SCCM database
SCCM02 – SUP, MP, FSP, SLP
The SQL2005 on SCCM01 is running under a domain service account called
domain\service_sccm which is also a sysadmin in SQL as is the SCCM02 server.
In an effort to resolve the isse I have made this account a Domain Admin.
I have also used this account to log onto SEC01 to run the Secondary Site installation and to be the SQL Service account.
I'm now trying to add a Secondary Site on a Domain Controller called SEC01 (also Win2008 sp2) and on the same LAN as the SCCM01/02.
This is where I get problems.
I run the installation locally on the Sec Site server (DC) as a Domain Admin and the installation completes OK (all green ticks),
the ComponentSetup.log and Pre-Reqs are all good as well however when I check the ConfigMgrSetup.log I see the below -

Adding the PMP role to SEC01 also fails to install and no MPSetup or MPControl logs are created.
WebDav and win2008 roles, features all added and server fully patched.
Despooler.log on SCCM01 seems good and passing keys.
Tried installing to default path and to shortened path such as C:\SCCM
The new secondary site is listed in the console and an address can be added for the Secondary Site
BITS Server Extensions and Remote Differential Compression Features are enabled.
The Group memberships all appear ok:-
SCCM01

contains the sec site server SEC01, SCCM01, installation accounts

SEC01 (the sec site server)

The fundamental issue appears to be that the SEC01$ server account is not being added to SQL Logins (and therefore SCCM database Roles)
therefore the installation cannot complete.
I have tried to manually add the SEC01 account to SQL Logins before installation of Sec Site but this did not work.
Not sure if the fact that SEC01 is a DC may be a factor.
Appreciate any help if anyone has seen this before or can suggest a resolution.

After a lot of digging around and head scratching I eventually found the resolution.
The original thread title Error turned out to be a bit of a red herring in that my failure to deploy Sec Sites came down to two separate issues seemingly unrelated to the error message of the thread title.
The first part of the resolution was to manually create the SQL Server accounts for the Sec Site Servers and assign them to the smsdbrole_MP DB role to
let the SQL side of the SCCM install complete a s these were not being created automatically.
This then left the fact that that the installation of the Sec Site completed successfully according to the install logs in C:\ however the DP and MP would
never install.
The big clue was eventually contained in the mpfdm.log errors relating to
**ERROR: Cannot find path for destination inbox SMS_AMT_PROXY_COMPONENT on server REGISTRY SMS_MP_FILE_DISPATCH_MANAGER
and
**ERROR: Cannot find path for destination inbox Asset Intelligence KB Manager on server REGISTRY SMS_MP_FILE_DISPATCH_MANAGER

As it turned out the SCCM installation registry and folder creation does not complete and I had to manually enter the reg settings as detailed in the
links above to complete the installation. Once I did as described everything worked a treat – all my MPs and DPs are 100% now.

Hi. I was able to install these three products into an NT machine. And I got it to work. I used the static_jinit.html instead of the demojini.html, this file comes with the Jinitiator install(this will be installed with Developer 6. I had to download the latest installation documents from metalink.oracle.com(Developer 6.0 and Oracle 8i) and www.olab.com(OAS 4.0.8). It is important that you get and read these documents first, the documentation that comes with the CDs is not up-to-date. Basically here are the steps that I did, these are based on the documents that I got from the websites:
1. Install Developer 6.0 first. Be sure to install it in the DEFAULT ORACLE_HOME(path is usually c:\orant).
2. Install Oracle 8i. Give it a diff. ORACLE_HOME(e.g. ora8i, path = c:\orant\ora8i).
3. Install OAS 4.0.8. Give it a diff ORACLE_HOME(e.g. oas408, path = c:\oas408). If you're using NT4 be sure to use SP5.
After installing these three test to see if you could deploy your web apps. I used the static implementation, I haven't tried the cartridge implementation yet. If is still doesn't work download and install the latest Developer 6.0 patch from metalink. I had to do this extra step to finally make it work(I guess we have a defective Developer 6.0 CD). I am also using Netscape 4.0.5, I still can't make it work with Explorer 4.0, I think it will only work if you use Explorer 5.0.

PS CS4 shuts down when opening a new document in Windows Vista 32 bit

It worked fine for many years ... I recently had to do a system restore, start from scratch installing all programs.
Now PS has problems (everything else works fine in CS4 as far as I know).
It opens in the regular screen ....until I open a new photo. The JPEG appears briefly ... then the program shuts down.
I performed the color profile rollback, reinstalled like I was told to by Adobe Support Advisor ... still doesn't work. Extremely frustrating. Since the rollback, it reinstalls "With Errors". ???
I am on Windows Vista 32-bit, 4GB RAM with SP 2 installed. I have been around the web reading comments on forums, nothing is working. To me it seems like a simple fix ... but I just need to know what to do. *I am highly reluctant to go into the reg settings and start editing, like some suggest on these forums. That is just asking for trouble and having to do another painful full system restore.
The suite has worked very well for years ... until now. And just with PS I am having the problems ??? I don't get it. Troubleshooting not my specialty.
Any help would be appreciated.

It seems that this is the good old "I think it's 64bit" error. It tries to install 64bit components on your 32bit system. This specifically comes down to some DLLs on your system being missing or the wrong version, possibly even a hardware driver returning some false info (processor controlelr etc.) I'd check Windows Update and verify the SP2 is installed correctly. Also make sure your MSVC 2008 runtime and possibly .NET 1.1 are isntalled correctly. Verify in your device manager that the CPU is detected correctly and Windows isn't running in some sort of compatibility mode. if there came a specific set of drivers with your motehrboard, installing them alone might fix a lot of things, as then you actualyl may also see Windows Update install some components for the first time that may be missing currently...

Computers are not showing up in WSUS admin console

I have just deployed WSUS 3.2 on Server 2012 R2. All my client computers are Server 2012 R2 as well. I configured all the settings via the default domain GPO to point to my WSUS server and when I check the reg settings on any of the clients I see all the
settings I configured in the GPO are being pushed down. But when I go to the All Computers in the WSUS console there are no clients showing up. At first I thought it had to do with the port number not being in the Specify Intranet Microsoft update service
location all I had was the server name. I then changed it to 'servername:8530' and that change got pushed down but still no clients show up in the Computer's section in the WSUS admin console.
Is there something I should check or may be missing here?

Hyperion Planning form timeout via Open Form under SV Data Source Manager

Power User can't open one particular big Planning form in Excel. Takes about 30 secs and gets net retry intverval timeout error. The same user can ad-hoc (one menu option up in the SV Data Source Manager) the form in question and can open the other (smaller) forms sucessfully. Logged into the users machine I can open the form in question. Logged into my machine the user can open the form in question.
Already increased the timeouts in user's browser to 2 mins and reinstalled his smartview client.
Seems like if I can do it on his machine - not his machine
AND if he can do it on my machine - not his rights/provisioning
AND if he can get at the same data one menu option up still using smartview - again not his rights or an error in his smartview

We had some timeout issues in Smart View in the initial stages of our deployment (although running 11.1.2.1), which sound similar to those you are experiencing.
Adding the following reg settings to client machines sorted the issues for us, it cant hurt trying these with your user if not applied already.
Path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\InternetSettings
Three ‘DWORD Values’ to add:
•     KeepAliveTimeout
•     ServerInfoTimeout
•     ReceiveTimeout
Value for each as 900000, with a Base setting of ‘Decimal’.

Provisioning BITLocker with Windows to Go via SCCM2012

Hello,
I am following this document http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj651035.aspx to provision Windows to go via Pre-Staging.
The instructions on what to put in the pre-start command is a little wooly, as best I can make out, I am pasting this directly in in prestart command window:

However, the task sequence falls flat when running the Bitlocker to go package, looking at the logs I see:
Failed to find Passphrase
I am running the package after the 'Configure Windows and SCCM Agent' step; OC the machine re-boots into windows here so I am not convinced it is the right place to call the package.
Can someone who has done this before give me sa quick hand please :)

manually on a desktop on a WTG USB stick.

GAL LDAP Lookup

I was wondering if anyone could comment whether the following is possible. We are one of many sub-organizations within a parent organization. Each sub-organization is completely independent with separate LDAP forests and E-mail servers.
The parent has a central LDAP server that is used for E-mail address lookups for all sub-organizations. Within Exchange 2013 is it possible to create a separate GAL that points to the central LDAP server via LDAP query. Ideally what we are looking
to do is have one GAL that only contains the contacts in our sub-organization and second GAL that queries the parent organization LDAP server that contains all sub-organization's contacts.
I know that in Outlook, we can configure a second address book that does do an LDAP lookup, however I have not found a way to configure this via GPO, other than pushing out reg settings. Also this does not allow access to the parent organization GAL
via OWA.
Any help is appreciated

Address book policies (ABPs) in Exchange allow you to segment users into specific groups to provide customized views of your organization’s global address list (GAL). You can apply the ABP to mailbox users, providing them with access

Lync Client Behind A Proxy

Can anyone confirm if the Lync client can be configured to route traffic via a proxy, or to use the proxy settings defined in IE?
I have the following scenario...
The environment is heavily locked down, and PC's only have access to the Internet via a defined IE proxy. Internal IM, presence and communication all work fine. We have configured federation with some remote organizations. IM and presence
works fine to these orgs, but when any A/V or application sharing is attempted, the media fails. I can see from traces this is when the client tries (and fails) to access the A/V edge of the remote federated parties edge server.
I've looked at the Lync settings, reg settings, group policy ADM and documentation, and cant find anything to a) confirm if this behavior is correct or b) any way to work around it.
There must be other Lync implementations in hardened environments like this. Opening up outbound ports is out of the question, so what other options do i have?

Jay, you missed the key word in my last post "internally". Functionally, everything about the edge server is working fine. Clients can login internally and externally. Media flows from internal to external clients is fine. All SIP/AV/WEBCON
DNS entries are fine in public DNS along with supporting SRV records. These interfaces are Nat'd and the AV address is correctly assigned.
My problem only occurs when an AV session is attempted with a federated partner...
When any AV or sharing is attempted, from the internal network, to the federated partner, i can see the Lync client attempting to make connections out to the remote federated partners AV edge (something which it will never be able to do as it's behind a
proxy with no direct Internet access). This is what I'm trying to address.
Should the SIP/AV/WEBCON address exist INTERNALLY
on the corporate DNS servers for internal clients to resolve? Is this what i have missed?
Is there anyway to instruct the Lync client to route traffic bound for the Internet via a proxy?
Surely there must be someone else with this scenario in a locked down environment?

Question: what procedure is responsable for generating a form with navigation pl/sql code in pre-form trigger?
Also the attached libraries ofgnavl en ofg4mes are missing.
Note: more 'navigation code' is missing in the form like a key-prev-item and post-block.
I can include and create these triggers/code manually. And attach the libraries.
I then get a correct working form.
BUT THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO GENERATE.

The generator preferences NAVCUR and NAVCCF need to be set to Yes, in order to get this code generated.
Did you attach the headstart preference set qms50_recommended at appliation level? (should be shared from the qms505 application system into your own application system).
This preference set sets both preferences to Yes.
If this preference set is attached, check if the preferences are overruled at module level.
