I know about cloning but not about shadow cloning .... can any one please say about this and when we use this type of cloning....

According to their requirement. i am very sure this is a whole ebs application cloining not just the database and it involves the appTier and dbTier.
Here is what to do ...follow this note "Cloning Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 RAC-Enabled Systems with Rapid Clone [ID 559518.1]" and if it is a RAC to single instance then see
Section 6: RAC to Single Instance Cloning
...and they want you to change the database name when you clone from production to serv2 and also change the apps password.
if you have not done any ebs cloning before i suggest you to read and understand this note before proceed.

I tried to run the preclone in source system in both apps&db tier. Its successfully ran. After that i tried to copy the source system files to target system using scp command: scp -p -r d01.tar.gz root@ipadress: /path. I specified which files are copying to the target system, but that d01.tar.gz files not copying instead os files are copying to the target system, So please give me the solution.
Note:above cloning steps are single-node.

Do you have the file you are trying to copy under the current user directory?
After that i tried to copy the source system files to target system using scp command: scp -p -r d01.tar.gz root@ipadress: /pathThe correct syntax to run scp command is as follows:

I can't tell if my previous messages came thru, but I need help with PSE 7.0. I can't use my drop shadow brush set anymore.

I am not sure if any of my previous messages went thru or not, but I have Photoshop Elements 7.0. I learned how to open a blank file and use a textbox to make my watermark and also my copyright logo and save them each as a brush. They were saved in the Drop Shadow Brushes. When I used my cloning stamp yesterday, I switched brushes to basic. When I later attempted to go back into the drop shadow brush set where I had saved the watermark and copyright logo, a message came up telling me the file couldnot be opened because it wasnot compatible with this version of Photoshop. I presume it is because of the special brushes saved there. What do I do now?

With whatever technique works, presumably cloning?! Sorry, but this is one of those "Can I fly to Mars?" questions. Anything is possible, but you have not provided nearly enough info, most importantly the actual image for reference and then info about your system, your version of PS, your experience level and whatnot.

How do I get rid of a shadow using PS Elements 4.0

Hi, I'm using Photoshop Elements 4.0 for Windows. I suck at Photoshop, but I need to get rid of a shadow that is cast on my son in a picture I have. If anyone could take time to help this pathetic guy I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Here is what I did instead:

For the shadows on the baby's body I used the Clone tool with a brush size to capture as large an area as possible on each shoulder, then cloned away. I did this on a new layer so that I could Erase (with a hard brush) any portions of the clone that drifted off the baby's body. I also erased (using a soft brush) the clone off his neck.
For the shadow under his eyes I use the Clone with Mode set to Lighten and Opacity to 35%, and cloned areas just below the shadow.
For other areas of shadow I used the Dodge tool. This takes a lot of trial and error. Experiment with different brush sizes and Range values. In some cases I found that rather than simply "painting" over the shadows I got better results using low Exposure values and incrementally dabbing the shadow; each dab lightens it a bit.
I also used the Clone on other areas that the Dodge tool couldn't fix.
After all is done you can use the Blur tool to smooth out the edges of any cloned areas.

I am sure it is definitely not the "Show Overlay" in the Clone Source Panel as it is very useful as it will guide you the desire area to clone. My problem is unintended area it is being cloned. Brush tip used is as per my screen shot.

Erase a Shadow....Mask a Shadow?

This is a movie shoot in 35mm that im now Trying to fiz in After Effects..
If u take a look at this jpeg file
juts in the upper right, near the curtains and the pictures, u can see a shadow from the micro suspended by the sond assistante.. The camera pans to the right and the actress moves in that direction. The shadow apears at this moment to dissapear before she gets in front of it witch mean its only 20 frames to deal with...
Because i am new to having ideas on what to do i though i coul export a frame withotu the sadow, track the motion, only the position, and place a mask at that spot... that went very wrong of course... then i thoug of exportinf the 20 frames with shadow to photosop and dill with it there so i could inport again to after... but, i mean.. if it where also a moving, but instead of 20 frames, 20 seconds how could i do it..
i also know the vector paint effect.. but first i dont know if that feature helps and second how it works..
i hopo somebody knows about any video tutorial i could watch or any solution i could try..

After Effects has a motion-capable Clone tool.
You can use motion tracking to drive both the target and the source points for cloning. Explaining how to do this is well beyond what I can achieve in a forum post, I am afraid.
But here is a tutorial by Angie Taylor which shows an example of this.
For 20 frames, you can do this manually, no tracking.
Take a look at Paint tools: Clone, Stamp and Eraser in After Effects Help.

Shadow copy vs deep copy

any body tell me what is the difference between shadow copy and deep copy of a object.

mean when i should use shallow copy and when i should
use deep copy of object.I'm hoping someone else will step in here, because in my OO thinking, there's seldom a need for copying an object at all.
One practical example, though: Say you're copying a list of objects. After the copy, you want to alter the objects in the copied list, but you don't want the objects in the original list altered. In this case, you need a deep copy. Had you only done a shallow copy, both lists would have referred to the same objects, and therefore, any change in an object would be visible through both lists.
clone() method makes shallow copy or deep copy.You'd have to consult the doc for the class you are cloning. For example, the doc for LinkedList.clone() says "Returns a shallow copy of this LinkedList."

How do you make a mask which can act to correct a drop shadow?

HI, i made a mask on the layer which includes a drop shadow in a layer style. As you can see the shadow part - on the guy's arm in the screenshot - doesn't get selected in the layer - see layer screenshot- and that is probably why using a brush in the mask would not act to remove the shadow. is there a way to include the effect/drop shadow part in selecting the layer so the brush would act on the shadow as well,
thus avoiding cloning?

I just meant that the word "shadow" doesn't get selected in the layer palette, actually I don't necessarily need to select a drop shadow in order to remove it. All i need is a brush and a mask. You perfectly answered my question and I need to try that.

target hostname i used is "ifmisnode" which is virtual host.
autoconfig already tried.
main is coming using hostname.domainname and also with IP address.
but i seen that when i click on "Logon to E-Business Suite Home" or "Logon to Oracle Applications Manager" URL in Main Page then

Getting rid of shadows

I am new into shooting portraits and I have not purchased lights and umbrellas yet since I am still shopping around. I shot some communion pictures and experienced shadows in the attached picture. I have previously corrected problems in CS2 by cloning. I just downloaded the 30 day of Lightroom and do not know if this software has an easier way of cloning and how to do it. I am under a time constraint to fix these pictures and I do not know how. Can anyone help and show me an easy way to do this?

This will be difficult to do without a separate flash unit so you can raise the light up high. A couple of things you can do are
1. Get a little light modifier for your pop-up flash - this will soften out the light
2. Get your subject away from the wall - this will minimize the shadow.
3. Easier to light it than fix it in PS or LR
