Reg:Smartforms Change editor problem

Dear All,
If i am designing the smartform i am displaying some table fields from different tables. For example
&vbrp-posnr& in to my change editor. when i am drag & drop on that particular fields that time when i
am activating my smartform i am seeing 2 to 3 lines of # symbols i am getting without my knowledge.
If i want to delete the unwanted # symbols i can't able to do that one. What i have to do?

There are two types of editor in general. The one we use generally in Scripts....and the other one is Word Pad editor. It just like working on a word document. So, now which is the one you are working on? Or in the text element you are just dragging the field into the text element??

It is possible to switch the word editor off, take a look at SMARTFORMS IN ERP2005 URGENT for details how.

Table editor problem with default value for column

Hi there,
I'm trying to use SQL Developer 1.2.1 on Ubuntu 7.10 (though I don't think the OS is relevant) and I'm running into a snag when trying to update table structures. If you go to edit the table to say modify a column name, and that column has a default value set, SQL Developer is encapsulating the value with brackets and quotes. When trying to save the changes, it complains about the default value being 4 chars too many for the column width. An example of this would be a currency code column of varchar2 (3) set with EUR as the default. SQL Developer changes the value to ('EUR') hence the error.
Is there anyway to prevent this from happening?

Could you please be more specific? In 1.2.1.32.40 I
added the column COL1 VARCHAR2(3) with default value
'EUR'. The data display field refreshed to show the
default value, so I edited it in a couple of entries
and comitted the change without problem. Then I
renamed the column from the "Edit table" popup menu.
Finally, I renamed the column from the "Rename
column" popup menu, no problem either.Ah, you are correct. That does work. What I was trying is select tablename in the object browser, then right click on it and select "Edit" from the contextual menu. You are then presented with edit table dialog box. If you then select a column in that box you will see a column properties box. In that section you can change the name, default value, datatype et cetera. Note that your default column value which should just be EUR (or 'EUR' to denote that it's a string) is now ('EUR'). Once you try changing the name to of the column to something else and then click OK, you should then get an error complaining of "Invalid varchar2 default value" with a more specific message of "Default values size 7 is greater than the allowed 3"
You have provided a work around, and thanks for that, but it would be nice to edit everything in the Edit table dialog box if you're modifying more than one column name. I'm tasked with cleaning up a bit of a messy database, and there are a good deal of columns to be renamed.

Smartforms Character format problem

Hey Guys any idea about this?

When I give a text element a 'B1' bold character format with a P1 paragraph format both of which are already defined in smartstyles. When I click on any other button after setting these values, the character format disappears!!.
Can some one please help me?

As u said it should not happen.
Have u specified the style in output options ?
Other wise press the icon for txt editor above syntax check.
Then go to>Change Editor>Select the para format from f4 and write
like <b1> Your Text <b1>

PSE10 Editor Problem

I have a strange problem when using PSE10 Editor. Whenever I left click on any of the options with a dropdown box the screen just jumps and the box briefly shows the options but won't stay open to allow me to choose an option. This has effectively stopped me working as I cannot choose any of these type of options which exist on virtually every tool and has even stopped me saving my edits. On the Save As screen when I click on the format dropdown to save as a jpeg I cannoit select that option - the screen just jumps and won't open the box.
This is a PSE editor problem as it doesn't happen on any other applications with these type of boxes and also these boxes are ok to open in Organiser as well.
Ant Idea anyone - I have googled with no success.

I've spent a couple of days on this problem getting nowhere, even after clearing down and doing a fresh clean PSE10 install. I did however find links to a different problem with the same symptoms namely the lasso problem that some users are getting where after holding down the left mouse for a period of time the screen jumps around and shows a message 'filename nn.nn% - not responding'. I get this problem when I click any of the dropdown box option in any tool, the main one being when trying to saving the file after editing.
I have found a fix of sorts by running the PSE10 program in 'Vista Compatability Mode' (I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit) and it seems to be working OK - I have edited 200 photostoday without problem. Reading up a bit more on the lasso problem it seems that it has been there since PSE9 and has still not been fixed by Adobe which is shameful.
This is just an FYI for anyone else that gets this exact or similar problems.

Change editor in smartforms ?

In smartforms when i create a text under a window ........ its showing some editor in it. I dont want that to come in there ..instead i want other table like thing that i see in IDES...can anyone tel where should i change the settings ?

SMARTFORMS - want to Change Editor - For 'Code'

Dear Friends,
I can work on Report & Screen efficiently.
But, I learned Smartforms as Trial & Error - also developed a few.
For Smartforms - In 'Code' - I have to write no. of lines ( a lengthy code).
Is it possible u2013 to change the editor (like u2018textu2019) or display the Code in full page.

HI,
If you want to change the code of smartform, Open the smartform and go to Global Definitions -> then click on initialization tab. Click on pencil button to change it to write mode.
Alternatively,
After activating the Smartform, Go to Menu -> Environment -> Function Module Name ->Click.
Copy the name of the FM including slash. open SE37 and paste the FM name to display the source code of the Smartforms.

New front end editor problem

I'm quite new on this forum, so don't be so angry if I'm asking about something that someone else was asking for, by i didn't found answer on my question.
So...
In my company, administrator made some updates in 4.7, after that updates new front end editor is avalible (this with code colorin, code hinting, code folding etc).
But I have some problem with keyboard mapping scheme. When i try to save my own setting or change keymapping to another one, SAP stop responding (it's not a crash with short dump but simple aplication freezing). I tried to find some solution to this behaviour but I didn't found it yet.
My question is:
1) Did someone else have the same behaviour as I?
2) Where to find SAP notes about front end editor?

Keymapping settings in file:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\ab4_data\keymap.xml
You should also check the following dir:
c:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\SapGui\ab4_data\
During patch installation this dir is overwritten, and during the first use of the new editor, the files from here copied to the <username>\ab4_data dir, where you can change them.
Might be permission problem, I can imagine, that if you have no authorization to change these files, the GUI starts hanging or chrashing.

I done all the exports from development in below vice versa:
from topology:
export master repository
export topology
export logical topology
export execution environment
from security
export security settings
from designer
export work repository
all are in .zip file formats only.
i created 2 new schams in production db like impmaster for master repository and impwork for work repository
then next
i created one new login name example produtionmastr
1)after that i imported master repository from import master repository winzard.
2)it imported sucess fully i got all technologies,physical servers,physical schems,logical schemas,agents,contexts also.
3)next i tried to import topology,logical topology and execution environment it takes time but nothing will be impoted. (my quwstion is what is the reason for we
again import topology logical topology again,when the time import master repository only we are getting all the things in topology.then what is use for this options.)
4)next think i created one work repository in topology manager with different id from development
5)i created login name for work repository and i login to designer.
6) i imported work repository from zip file using synonym insert mode. imported success.
7)i changed all the physical paths in physical data servers. every thing fine.
8)but i am getting problem with agent.previously i am working with odi 10.1.3.
error is:

9)in 11g odi agent creation was totally different all configurations need to odiparams.bat.
10)my doubt can i need to update all the repository names in odiparams.bat file

Ideally i would suggest when you are importing for the first time you can use the Import Master Repository wizard and from next time if any small changes has then import those individual ODI Object.
You don't have to repeats those individual import once the Master Repository Import is successful.
Reg Agent Error You can create an Agent manually in the your new Topology.
I believe you have upgraded from 10g to 11g . In that case all your Master Rep url and credentials might change and so the old odiparams might not work .Please update odiparams accordingly.

Smartforms : CHanges in one language are not reflecting in other languages.

I did some changes to the smartforms in language en and was trying to see the effect in other client in language de. But dont see any changes in other language.
Changes that i did were, Changing the text in the forms, addition of new fields, set some conditions to text.
Hope the problem is clear.
Please help.

After doing changes in the German Form in transaction SE63, the changes do not reflect in English language after activating the german form.Please help me with your valuable suggestion to solve this problem.

Smartforms - Change a text elements character Format

Hello,
I need to modify a Smartform by increasing the font size on some text elements. When I highlight the text element to change and then click the dropdown for Character Format I can click the format I would like but it never changes.
I've also tried resetting the character formats but it always gets back to it orginal size/settings.
How can I change the character format in a text element?

It appears I have to delete the field then change the character format to the font I want and finally drop the field back into place on the screen.
If there is another way to do it, I never found it.
Switching to the classic editor may work as well. Worth trying.
