SPAU: Modification assistant switched off Upgrade ended

Hi,
I am trying to modify an Include in a function group, but I am not able to activate it.It shows a message 'Operation Terminated'.When I checked in SPAU , for the same include it says 'Modification assistant switched off Upgrade ended'. How can I switch on the modification assistant.Its Urgent ..

Hi,
Double click on the object and go to editing mode; edit if any changes are required .Usually this problem comes if all the changes of old version did not come to new system , manually add those changes and then activate it. The red stop sign will change in to green check. If u dnt have any changes to modify the object the also go to editing mode and activate it manually.

SPAU Modification Assistance

Hi,
we are upgrading the system and needs to clear the spau list. there is a huge list.
I implemented few of this. But i am not able to implement the remaining.¨
I see some types of errors.
1. "Format of correction instructions XXXX XXXXXX XXXXXXXX ; unable to
read corr. instruct."
2. And other issue is i get a green question mark for some notes.
NOw dont know how to clear this. can somebody help me in this.
Apart from Note correction there are also list in With Modification Assistant
and Without Modification Assistant.
My second query is can ignore the above note errors and move ahead with With
Modification Assistant list. Or i need to clear all Note correction and then
proceed with With Modification Assistant & Without Modification Assistant.

Please find below, answers to your questions:
1.What objects will come in SPAU and SPDD?
Ans: All the objects which are modified, after tansporting to the current system,
will be listed in SPAU and SPDD. SPDD contains the list of all modified Data Dictionary objects, like tables, dataelements, domains,view...etc. The rest of all the modified repository objects will be listed in SPAU.
What happens to the modifications done in the older version when we upgrade the version? (with Modification assistant and w/o)
Ans: After the initial upgrade happens, we have to do adjustments from SPAU/SPDD to maintain or reset the changes. That is, from the list of objects in SPAU/SPDD, you have to either carry forward the changes to the new version, by choosing the option ADOPT CHANGES (available on right click) or RESET TO ORIGINAL (available on right click).
Will they come in these transactions?
Ans: yes, they will be listed in these transactions, after the BASIS updgrade activity.
And what if we apply some patches(Notes) to the system? What is the impact of these patches to the SPAU transaction?
Ans: Patches will be supported by the version upgrade. In case of notes, we have to verify whether these notes are supported by the new version (you can go into http://www.service.sap.com/notes to verify this. Also, we have to analyze whther the code in the note is already incorporated in the new version. In this case you can ignore the chanes choosing RESET TO ORIGINAL option

Reg ; spau and spdd errors

Dear ,
         we have applied the patch in SAP 4.7. and we got the errors under 1) with modification 2) with out modification
                i observed errors under with modification , errors are
                    i seen two error fuction modules name . and i check those function module and i came to know that those function modules are not available in SAP.
                    and i seen some errors under WITHOUT MODIFICATION ASSISTENCE and the errors are of database tables related that are structues and i opened that structures and checked the syntax(consistency) it is giving warning messages i.e 1) field name is reserved (i.e DATE) 2) table is not yet classified .
               now how i have to react to errors under with modification and without modification

Dont use the KEYWORDS as fields. try to use
ZZDATE or some thing like this..

Handling Modification Adjustment in Subsequent System

Hello All,
I am upgrading my Ecc to EHP4 and want the SPDD and SPAU modification to be used in the subsequent System.
I have read the installation document and understood the following.
Pre-reqisite :The CTS should be configured and the trans should be shareble across the dev-qa-prd
FOR SPDD(in the shadow system)
1.) Create a Transport Request
2.) Flag it for transport in the SPDD t-code
3.) After all the corrections are saved in the TASK, release the task.Do not release the teansport request.
FOR SPAU (after the downtime
1.) Create a Transport Request
2.) Flag it for transport in the SPAU t-code
3.) After all the corrections are saved in the TASK, release the task.Do not release the transport request.
So both this request will be registered in the umodauto.lst file under the usr/sap/trans directory.

Thank you for the rely.
I have a little confussion.
I just checked the bin directory of the EHPI installation directory for the umodauto.lst and i found this
/usr/sap/EHPI/EHPI/abap/bin
rasupt1:rpdadm 3> more umodauto.lst
SPAU 701 RPDK912052
SPDD 700 RPDK912049
And when i checked the global trans for the umodauto.lst i got the following
/usr/sap/trans/bin
rasupt1:rpdadm 6> more umodauto.lst
SPAU 701 RPDK912052
In the EHPI instalation directory i get both the SPDD and SPAU Transport request, where as in the global trans/bin there is only the entry of the SPAU .
I am confused as to
1.)what file the next installation will be checking
2.) And why the SPDD entry has not appeared in the global trans/bin

SPAU transport and UCMIG_REQINC phase in CUUC - several questions

Phase UCMIG_REQINC has the following option
   You can now include one ore more transport requests, including the Unicode-enabling
   of your customer programs.
   If you decide not to include a request now, you need to do the neccessary adaptions
   of your programs manually after the Upgrade and before starting the Unicode Conversion.
   Do you want to include a (further) request?
Questions

Hi Terry,
Normally when you do the upgrade in the development system , the spau modification adjustment done and transport request will be created.In the subsequent system the same transport request can be included so that you do not have to do the transport after the upgrade.Here if you included the request it will be taken care of the upgrade program.
Questions

ECS value not appearing in J1IIN after upgrade to ECC 6.0 from 4.72

Hi Experts
All the objects corresponding to ECS are restored to original i.e. ECC 6.0 during SPAU modifications. We are able to find the ECS value appearing in the new version for the existing billing docs whereas when we try to create a new billing doc in J1IIN, ECS value is calculated as '0.00'. We have checked with the sale order and billing doc where ECS is populated as expected.
Kindly provide us with some inputs to resolve.

XSLT_BAD_SOURCE_CONTEXT (CX_XSLT_RUNTIME_ERROR)

Hi,
I am doing NW 7.01 SPS 25 patch upgrade.
During the phase "XPRA_EXECUTION", update is getting failed with rc 0012.
As per note #822379, SPAU modification has been checked & corrected.
But issue still persists. It is failing with the following runtime error.
Runtime Errors         XSLT_BAD_SOURCE_CONTEXT
Exception              CX_XSLT_RUNTIME_ERROR
Short text
    XSLT: No valid XML source
What happened?
    The transformation is not possible since the XML source document cannot
    be parsed.
Could you please anyone help me to resolve this asap.

Lost Upgrade Assistant GUI's administrator password

Dear Gurus,
recently we had upgrade from 4.6c to ECC6,
everything was done alright, until step SPDD and SPAU modification
I reach the SPDD and SPAU modification last February 6th, 2009
yesterday, our technical and functional consultants just finished the SPDD and SPAU modification.
Today I want to continue with the upgrade steps.
as usual, I run command java -cp ua.jar UaServer
then in client I run java -cp uagui.jar UaGui
when I try to login using administrator password, it keep say that I input wrong password for administrator role.
it is shame on me that I didnt write down the password, though I think that I put the correct password since the password is generic (I use same password for all other things in upgrade process)
my question is
is there any way to change the password for administrator so I can continue my upgrade process ?

Besides the adjustments in transaction SPAU your upgrade
is completed now and productive operation is possible.
All SPAU activities can be performed without SSCR for
a period of 14 days after you first entered this phase.
Do n o t continue with SAPup if you plan to use the
result of the adjustments for any subsequent SAP system.
Exit now and restart SAPup, after SPAU has been finished.

Process goes like this.
1. Run Prepare.Complete all the 11 steps successfully.
2. Then run the SAPUP tool. Follow the onscreen instructions.
3.During the EU_IMPORT phase select the number of hours according to the size of your database
4. System stops at ACT_700 phase.
5. Complete the modification adjustments for SPDD.
6. Carry the adjustments in the form of a change request.
7. Follow the steps mentioned above for SPDD and SPAU.
8. Continue till MODPROF_TRANS phase after which your Shadow instance will take over the Original Instance.
9. Before starting with MODPROF_TRANS take a complete backup of the database, kernel and the upgrade directory.
10. Start with the upgrade. You will have 14 days after upgrade for SPAU.
11. Complete the upgrade.
12. Complete the SPAU modifications.

Preprocessing Roadmap Orinial system locked / logon not possible

Hi All,
I am currently working on the upgrade from CRM 2007 to CRM 7.0 with EHP1. I am runinng the synchronus upgrade and currently in the Preprocessing ROADMAP (Phase Name MAIN_SHDIMP/DIFFEXPADDI ).
Indeed, we have completed the SPDD / SPAU modification as well. And my question is, I am not able to login into the orignal system and its telling it as Upgrade is running logon not possible. (But this should happen only in the downtime roadmap - because I have done several ECC upgrade) . When preprocessing completed, we will obtrain downtime from the customer and we will start with the downtime roadmap.
But in CRM, I didn get any message or warning like that, I just gave confirmation for modifcation of SPAU / SPDD in the preprocessing roadmap. After few hours, I am not able to login into the originals system itself. Even I could see that there is no shadow system existing in the MMC as well. I am clueless here about the status and howcome it could happen like this ?
In short : My question is, downtime will start after giving confirmation in SPAU / SPDD?
Also I have unlocked / locked the shadow system earlier for some activity in the shadow system. Does that mean accidentally it locked my original system.
If anyone of your have any suggestion please do let me know
I have used the below command to unlock the shadow system...
tp unlocksys SCR pf=G:\SCR_UPGRADE\abap\bin\TPPARAM
SAPup.exe unlockshd SCR
tp locksys SCR pf=G:\SCR_UPGRADE\abap\bin\TPPARAM

SPAU issues with: Without Modification Assistant: No versions found

Hi,
We have upgraded from SAP 4.7 to SAP ECC 6 with Unicode.
After the upgradation we have started working with SPAU objects.
Currently I am working on SPAU: Without Modification Assistant.
I have gone though some docs in those they have asked to compare the versions using Version Management options.
But when I am tiring to check the Version Management for many of the objects I am getting the message: No versions found

Hi,
in SPAU you will be getting three things..
1>Green light 2>yellow light and 3>Red light
when the upgrade takes place if you see any object under Green that means the changes are automatically carried to the new version from older version
for yellow it has done partially and for red you need to do manually copying the code to the new version.
You have an option is "RESET to original" if you do this , the code will be reset to what SAP provided in the new version. Your old code won't be there.

Regarding Screen Painter object modification adjustment in SPAU

Hi all,
We are upgrading SAP 4.6 C to ECC 6.0.I have query related to SPAU transaction.
<b>How do we adjust the modification for Screen in SPAU transaction. The traffic light in front of screen object is Green.</b>
I have gone through the help.sap.com also but the screen adjustment document is not valid for ECC 6.0 , it's valid for ECC5.0.
Can anybody suggest what exactly is to be done in this case if anybody has done it on ECC 6.0 . Has anybody done it earlier in any ECC6.0 Project?
