  • Patch Manager lists patches i already installed... help!

Update Manager is still showing 173 patches which i already installed on May 20th.
The "Installed Patches" section is showing 0 patches.
I am Running Solaris 10 on x86 Dual Xeon
Once all the patches were applied I linked 2 folders off to *{color:#0000ff}/export/home{color}* to save space on the root drive...
but as far as i was aware this should not make a difference.
Below you can see my {color:#0000ff}*/var/sadm*{color} folder
    # pwd
    /var/sadm/patch
    # cd ..
    # ls -al

When i cd to {color:#0000ff}*/export/home/var/sadm/pkg*{color} it lists 1057 packages.
In the Update Manager, the spool directory is{color:#0000ff} */export/home/patches*{color}, there are no patches in here. I cleaned them out.
When i attempt to install an already installed patch, it fails (which is good) but doesn't remove the patch from the list.
Has anyone any ideas how i can get Update Manager back to normal?
    Thanks
    Michael

Try moving the files in /export/home/var/sadm/patch and /export/home/var/sadm/patch back to their correct locations.
You might then find that updatemanager works as expected again. Did you ever stop to think what those directories were used for?

  • Does Oracle XE 10g or 11g  have supported patches/bug fixes

Does Oracle XE 10g or 11g  have supported patches/bug fixes?

XE isn't patch-able, unfortunately- eg. in the section ...Major Features Not Included at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17781_01/license.112/e18068/toc.htm#XELIC116 a "patch set" is one of the "not included" items
One could install one of the full release editions, get it patched, and upgrade an XE instance with the patch-able edition, but access to patches requires a support agreement.

  • .RAF files not recognized in bridge but PS ok.  Patch 7.1 installed.

.RAF files not recognized in bridge but PS ok.  Patch 7.1 installed.  Anyone know the fix?

To me it seems related to your Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) converter. Clue inhere is you only miss the Raw files and have no problems in seeing other formats like jpeg and tiff.
The screenshot you delivered is from the wrong library, however, this same library (the one on system level) also is the location where you should be able to view the correct version of your ACR plugin. The path: library (same as per your screenshot)/Application support/ Adobe/ Plug ins/ CS6/ File Formats. inhere should be only one version of Camera Raw (called: "Camera Raw.plugin") and this should show version 8.3 (141).
I'm not sure about your bridge version number, Bridge 5 comes with PSCS6 but my most recent version of Bridge is 5.0.2.4.
Anyway, if you have only one ACR (8.3) installed in the above mentioned path then you might want to try to delete the Bridge plist file and Bridge cache file manually.
For this you have to Quit Bridge and find the user library (by default hidden, use menu Go in Finder and press option key to reveal).
Inhere find the plist file (user(your user name) / library / Preferences  and inhere find and manually delete the file called: "com.adobe.bridge5.plist"
The in same user library find Bridge Cache. User/Library/Caches/Adobe/Bridge CS6. Inhere are 2 files, the adobe Bridge plug in cache and the folder called Cache. delete (or move outside libray) both items.
The restart Bridge (If needed also again hold option key to reset preferences) and this will create fresh files for the previous deleted items, leaving you with an almost out of the box factory set version of Bridge.

  • Kernal and support patch issue

    Hi all
How can i install and run the kernal patch or support patch in SAP ?
    what the procedure for install?
    regards,
    Kevin
Edited by: Kevin Wong on Jul 20, 2009 8:43 AM

    Hi,
    Kernel upgrade:
download the Kernel file from the service market place..
One with specific to your db and another db independent from service market place.
Uncar the file and replace exe folder in your system.
    Before upgrading kernel you have
    1. Stop SAP
    2. Stop os coll
If you have the latest version of sap and java stack installed you can use JSPM to upgrade your Kernel patch.
You just download the SAR files and place it in EPS/in folder and run JSPM it will upgrade your kernel.

  • Tring to install Security Update for Lync Server 2010 (KB2982388) ...patch failed to install

    Hi
Idenitfied the lync security update issue below on server....
Worker process exited prematurely.  The process will be automatically restarted.
Process: 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Lync Server 2010\Server\Core\RtcHost.exe'  Exit Code: E0434F4D!_HRX! (No Message Text Found!_HRM!).
The KB2982385 has tried to installed and failed 7 times....and as such my lync edge server is down.
    Found solution:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=44080&fa43d42b-25b5-4a42-fe9b-1634f450f5ee=True
Downloaded patch and then ran lyncserverupdateinstaller...however it doesnt recognise that there is a patch to be deployed or a component to update.
Further running the msp by itself results in:
The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows insteller service because thje program to be upgraded may be missing or the upgrade patch may be a different version...
Please advise how i can get this issue resolved.

    Hi,
Did you try to download and install the update manually?
Here is a similar case below, it seems something wrong when updating through Windows Update automatically.

  • BEx7 and it's latest patch must be installed!

Can somebody explain what this error means and how do I resolve this ?
I have the Bex Query designer installed and I am trying to connect Xcelsius 2008 SP3 with BW that has SAP Enhancement Package 1: Support Package Stack 05 installed.

I'm a newbie for SAP BO and Xcelsius. I'm getting the same problem as stated in this thread which is rated as not answered.
I have been spending too much time trying to find a fix for this error. Nothing is fruitful till now. Request the Experts to post the solution to fix this problem.
I have Xcelsius 2008, SAP GUI 7.1 and then SAP GUI 7.1 Patch 20 are installed. I'm able to logon to the SAP BW through SAP Logon GUI. But when I invoke the menu SAP-->Open on Xcelsius 2008 (so as to get to SAP BW), I'm getting this error
"BEx7 and it's latest patch must be installed" pops.  This error I got after entering the password details on the 'SAP Logon xxxServer' dialog box that popedup after invoking the SAP--> Open menu. I have no Idea where to get the Patch for BEx7. Also I don't know whether the Patch 20 for SAP GUI 7.1 includes the latest patch for BEx7 or not.
This problem must have been resolved by patrons who had posted this error in this thread. I would like the patrons/experts/ some one knows the solution should post a solution for this problem.

  • The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program

trying to install an update patch for Citrix xendesktop 7.5 and the error when I click on the msi patch is "the upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch
may update a different version of the program"
The application was installed 2 days prior and works fine but the patch will not install.
    Any ideas?
    Wendy2014

Yes let's see if there is any error occurs in installation log.
Meanwhile from the error message, the possible cause is that a part of the application is missing such as a registry key with app version. In this situation you can first test to reinstall/repair the application though it is still working fine - see if issue
    persists after reinstall the app.
Meanwhile you could also contact Citrix about this issue. It may be a common issue and Citrix may provide a quick fix for it.

Yes. Reinstall iTunes. If that is the point at which you stopped trying the support suggestions then it makes sense to me, that you move on to the next suggestion and if reinstalling iTunes is the next suggestion, so be it.
However ....  I too have issues that arise out of the blue with my iPad being recognized in iTunes and what I always do and it eventually works is to quit iTunes, restart my MacBook, and reboot my iPad.
Rebooting the iPad is the last thing that I do and only if I have no success with quitting iTunes and restarting the Mac. It may take a few tries to work, but if you are that dead set against reinstalling iTunes, then give it a try.

  • TS4209 Wi-Fi 1.0 patch will not install on a 10.7.4 Mac OSX even though the Wi-Fi loss bug is still there

    Hello all,
The Wi-Fi 1.0 patch will not install on a 10.7.4 Mac OSX even though the Wi-Fi loss bug is still there, every now and then (the iMac does not detect any wi-fi network).
Are there any other solutions regarding this issue ?
    kind regards

    I figured out the problem.
This is going to sound a little crazy, but I've spent a lot of time on this one.
There's some kind of incompatibility with Lion and Seagate ST31000340AS drives. I was trying to install Lion on these drives and it would consistently fail. I've also tried to use these drives in a RAID volume. No go. I tried three different drives of this model. All of them failed.
I tried to install Lion on a Seagate ST31000528AS and it worked first time and sings beautifully.

Clarification on Patches applied after installing NCOMP and reapplying patchset
    Note : 293658.1 10.1 or 10.2 Patchset Install Getting ORA-29558 JAccelerator (NCOMP) And ORA-06512
    Extract:
"Note: If you have one-off patches on top of a 10.1.0.x or 10.2.0.x patchset
they do NOT need to be rollback and reapplied, they can remain."
Note 452024.1 Is NCOMP (JAccelerator) mandatory ?
    Extract:
-You need to re-apply one-off patches that were applied prior to installing NCOMP component.
    Which statement is true ?
For instance, CPU / normal one-off patch is applied in OracleHome without NCOMP
    Now, NCOMP is installed
1- Do we have to re-apply the patch.
2- Do we have to rerun the post installation steps at the database level ? If any fix for NCOMP was there in the CPU, will it be there at the database level if we are not running the post installation steps ?
3- If ORACLE_HOME is 10.2.0.3.0, after installing NCOMP, 10.2.0.3.0, patchset has to be re-applied, what is the impact of this action on patches already applied
