Hi,
To be on the safer Side Just install the New system as you installed the Old PRD keeping in mind that the OSlevel the patch level and the Sap release should be same .
Once the installation Completes.you should go with the System Refresh.
Now here are the answer of your Question.
To install New PRD system it shall take 24 hour (appox).Once the base installation is completed you can go with the system Refresh.
Offline Backup will take 2 to 3 hours.(Number of hours depends on many more things).
If you have ABAP+JAVA then you beed to take the Java Export After the Backup.(1 hour)
Then you need to get the backup restored on the New Server(2 to 3 hours)
Then run Sapinst Import.(10 to 11 hours).
Post Refresh steps depends on the landscape configuration you have.

Yes, I understand that, it is a good guide to state the Hardware Requirements. But for an Evaluation, no one can set up around 84 GB of RAM and all servers. There should be some minimal configurations to evaluate.

I am trying to execute the transaction IDX5 on XI system and am getting the err "System is not a central XI;cannot start program".Can anyone please tell me the reason for this?

Are you sure that you are executing TCODE on XI Server.
Normally this message is displayed for R3 Servers
Check SXMB_ADM --> Check the Integration Engine Configuration
In the Global Configuration Data :
Role of Business System should be Integration server
Corresponding IS should point to Pipeline URL

I am into PP module , i wanted to know one of the setting in SD module.
We are working on Variant config scenario (Make to order , strategy group : 25 ) ,
I observed one of the status profile "NoMP"(No make to order ) associated in sales order.when this will get appear and will get resetted..?
What is the use of this status profile in sales order.
From where this status profile is getting assigned to sale order . How can i change this status profile..?
I checked in against the item category in config level , status profile is not assigned , but in sales order its appearing.

Hi Kumar,
You can declare a Node in Comp controller and set this Node by Sydatum & syuzeit. Now you can fetch this node in any view or you can declare a Global attribute of type ELEMENT_<Context Node Name> and get this aatribute in any view using WD_COMP_CONTROLLER-><Attribute Name>.
Also can you explain your requirement for Date & time field on Login Page?

Transport control program tp ended with error code 0247

Hi,
Our landscape is such that any transport request once released, gets imported to Q system immediately. However there is another system (another box REG - regression testing) to which I would like to import a request but the transport queue of REG system does not show the request. So I tried to explicitly add it to the queue but I get the following error message, 'Transport control program tp ended with error code 0247.
There doesn't seem to be a problem with data & CO files as the same request is in Q system and the changes are all transported successfully.
This request is a transport of copy that contains some ABAP code. (changes to the relevant package can be saved only in local requests therefore transport of copy is recommended to transport the changes).
The changes appear correctly in Q system but for REG system the request neither appears in the queue nor be added to it.
Can someone advise where the problem is.

When the REG system is not in the system landscape, probably you may not have Data & Co files in that system & you need to have those files separately in the REG system path & then import it.
Do consult Basis team on this issue.

Pg_upgrade fails for "$libdir/postgis-2.0"

I was trying to update my system, when found that postgresql needs a little tweaking from 9.2 to 9.3. Following the instructions on the wiki, I ran pg_upgrade:

As mentioned on the wiki, postgis-2.0.so was missing:

Interesting Class Not Found Exception on Client Side of RMI

I am having trouble getting my client to start up using RMI. I am running my server on a linux platform and everything seems to be starting up just fine. Here is how I start the server:

BNS.plumbing.Client is not a Stub method. I have a ClientLiason class which provides the stub and it does not seem to have problem there. Also, when I simply navigate to [http://1.paturi.usher.ucsdsys.net/BNS/classes/BNS/plumbing/] the Client.class file is clearly there waiting to be used.
Here is what I run when starting server side to get the RMIRegistry (which has been started without a problem):

In order to access it I must first ssh into a UCSD machine and from there ssh into my machine (this is because it is not a full-fledged ip address, but part of UCSD's domain). I think this might have something to do with the trouble I have accessing the class file when I tried to get at them through a browser directed to my Apache Server.
I am not the greatest network guy, I know a lot more about programming and I am at my wits end here. I have searched everything I can think of, with little success. If anybody has any ideas or can even point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

I think your codebase annotation is being lost because Client.class is on the CLASSPATH of the Registry. There are two solutions:
1. Start the rmiregistry command in a directory other than the root of the package structure, e.g. /.
2. Use LocateRegistry.createRegistry() instead of getRegistry() in the server, and don't start the rmiregistry command at all.

Server 3.2.1 (10.9.5) – Postgres won't start

After upgrading from Server 3.1.2 (Mavericks 10.9.3) to Server 3.2.1 (Mavericks 10.9.5), I cannot start Postgres:

Sounds like you're going to want to learn MySQL. In order to
create a user
registration/login system there are a few basic components
that you should
look into:
a) a database to store your users' information. mySQL is
probably the most
common option and given that you know some php, it is likely
that mySQL is
installed on your server already (ask you hosting provider).
At minimum
you'll probably want a table called USERS with fields called
"username",
"password" and maybe you want to ask for an email address?
Maybe other more
site-specific info like "team" or "referrer" or "promo code"
...whatever...
b) you're going to want at least two forms, a registraion
form made with
html that calls a php file (<form
action="reg.php"...>). reg.php should
handle validating the form (i.e. no blank passwords) and then
inserting the
data into your user table. You're also going to need a login
form. This
form should call login.php which checks wether the user
entered a valid
username/pw.
c) In the long term you're going to want to look into PHP
sessions. This is
a good way to keep track of a logged in user vs. a non logged
in user
Making a user reg system is not for the faint of heart, and
far less
complicated than you imagine. There are hundreds of tutorials
out there
(google is your friend) and the people on this news group are
a great
resource.
One last note, if you are planning on storing/displaying
sensistve
information (i.e. creditcard numbers) you should look into
hiring a pro. Do
your learning when the stakes are low.

Acroread - A ton of HELP files these days come in .PDF Adobe Acrobat format, plus if you surf the Web you're bound to run into some Acrobat files. Adobe has their software available as FREE (love that word) WARE.

WinZip - The number ONE downloadable filetype on the Internet is .ZIP, and for good reason...who want's to sit there downloading 199 separate files to play a game or use a shareware app? The compressed archive format ties it all up in a nice neat package, and speeds download times to boot. So what's not to love? ATT Mcell, address doesn't match account address

I got a text with similar content to the title of this post a few days ago. My Mcell has been set up for three years, and suddenly it went down and I have no reception in my home anymore. I looked through a few forums, and found that this problem is common and is due to an issue on ATT's end with the registration process and servers. A new Microcell won't fix it, since the issue is not with the device but with the servers that handle the device. I need this issue fixed ASAP, so I am posting here for further assistance.

I am a professional computer nerd and manage quite a few microcells, both older orange/white and new black.
While there might be a glitch in the reg system, the norm is that there is no requirement regarding the account address and the microcells physical location.
I have microcells on accounts with account address in Los Angeles or other major cities, but the microcells are physically located in Colorado, Montana, Hawaii, etc, (caveat: as long as ATT is authorized to provide service at the microcells location.)
One trick I use in rural locations when I get an address mismatch issue, is I use Apple Maps, Google Maps, or similar internet mapping site on my smart phone or tablet, with GPS enabled. I let it "tell me" what address it believes I am located at, and use that as the microcell location.
Sometimes it is right on the money, other times, it tells me that I am quite far from the address I think I am at. ie: the entry gate to the property is 1234 Any Canyon Road, but by the time you get to the house, it thinks we are at 1456 Any Canyon Road. The GPS and the county (or USPS) address fairies don't always use the same numbering standards. (I know that somebody somewhere must be shocked at this revelation!)
Generally rural fire and police/sheriff know the area well, and after the microcell is active, you can always contact your local agency 911 coordinator and ask them to put notes into the 911 system that if the get a cellular 911 call at 1456 Any Canyon Road, the entrance gate is actually at 1234 Any Canyon Road.
Not sure if this helps your situation, but I know some people that have encountered this same issue.
