How to trace authorizations including client number and client
name--What are options when we go for this T.code.how is the
result generated

Hello,
The ST01 transaction is used to set a user trace for authorizations. When a users comes to you saying he/she has authorization problems. You have to login to the client where the user will login and goto transaction ST01.
You have the option to set traces for :
Authorization check
kernel functions
table buffer trace
RFC calls
lock operations etc.
once you have ticked the options set the trace ON (there is a TRACE ON button).
Then the use rcan login and perform the operation he/she has been having trouble with. Once they have simulated the error.
Click on TRACE OFF button and click on the ANALYSIS button. A box will pop up asking for filter options. Use can filter by:
User
client
work process
transaction etc.
once you have done this click the execute button (F8).
The system will show the result dialog step wise and you will be able to identify the problem.

REg TCODE ME51N, ME52N

Hi All,
my requirement is to check whether the Estimation Group field is blank for particular material group while creating Purchase Requisition in TCODE ME51N. If itws Blank i need to throw an Error Message. For this requirement i tried User Exit MEREQ001 and wrote codings in last function module ****0010. if i throw error message in task bar, i got the error message but the ITEM screen turns in to Display mode.
Then i tried with BADI "ME_REQ_POSTED" and Method 'POSTED". here also i got error message but if i press the Customer data tab where i need to enter Estimation group value, the PR is created.
Then i tried with BADI "ME_PROCESS_REQ_CUST" and Method "ITEM_PROCESS". here also i got error message but if i press Enter or Check button after entering the values in the screen this BADI wont gets triggered. if i entered all the values and press SAVE button directly without pressing Enter button in keyboard or Check button in screen the BADI gets Triggered.
I need to throw an Error Message when the user clicks SAVE button.
Please suggest me how to solve this issue.

Hi Dinesh,
In first case you cant use userexit as it becomes input disabled in case of an error. You can achieve this with Badi ME_REQ_POSTED. In this badi you will have methods for each group like WBS element , account group, item data,etc. you have to implement the method under which your Estimation Group falls under and display an error message. When the user gives wrong data here it will throw an error message when he clicks enter at this stage. However if he directly clicks on save or check this method won't be called. so to achieve this you also need to implement the method for check and not save or posted. You need to paste the same code in method check and display the same error message. Your Badi then will show error even if the user clicks save directly because check method is called even if the user presses save directly. As a matter of fact you can also implement the check method only but in that case error wont get displayed when the user gives wrong data in Estimation Group field and presses enter.

How can i trace the transaction which is getting called in the background when i execute another.
Here the problem is when ever i execute some tcode in production which i have already taken approval to execute, even if i will get sox complaint mail saying i have executed some other tcodes also.
So i want to trace what are all the possible tcodes that it calls in the background when i am executing some other main transaction.

Here you will get some additional details like the response time and more.
Go to ST03 T-code as shown in below image
After enter into ST03 T-code double click on the date which day you want to track the details
After that below screen will appear hit background mode
After that browse user and settlement statistics under that double click on user profile like below screen shot
After that select user you want to track and double click n that user as shown in below screen shot
Then you will find the list of T-codes he executed check the below screen shot

The posting document cannot be processed since the total of investment grants in the individual areas exceeds the acquisition value in reference depreciation area 01.

In custumizing, "define how depreciation areas post to general ledger" (in organizational structures => depreciation area).
then click the depreciation area that are concerned, and for subvention investment grant select " all values allowed".
if the problem occures again, check the value in asset explorer and see whether the amount for this asset is to high

Authorizations missing SOAMANAGER http issue

Hi All,
I am having an issue reg. SOA manager.
I am using ECC 6.0 system. when trying to create a logical port using SOAMANAGER- tcode after giving all the credentials i.e.
General Configuration Settings:

Configuration Type: WSDL based Configuration
Wsdl setting access
WSDL Base : via HTTP Access

and clicking on the apply settings its giving the error as below:
"SRT Framework exception: HTTP: Current user does not have the required authorization to access the HTTP destination"
can anybody tell me which roles or authorizations can be added to the user so that we can over come the issue.

I would check these first...
If the provider is an SAP System:
- First check that the user that you logged in with to launch SOAMANAGER has the ncecessary authorizations (e.g SAP_BC_WEBSERVICE_ADMIN).
- Then check that the user & pass you're using when creating the logical port has the necessary authorizations in the provider system (e.g. SAP_BC_WEBSERVICE_CONSUMER)
- Do an authorization trace in TCode ST01 in the consumer system to identify missing auth's.
If the provider is non-SAP:
- First check that the user that you logged in with to launch SOAMANAGER has the ncecessary authorizations (e.g SAP_BC_WEBSERVICE_ADMIN).
- Try opening the WSDL URL that you have from the provider using your internet browser & when the login screen pops up enter the login credentials that you're using when creating the logical port & see if the WSDL is displayed. If you get an authorizations error then the provider needs to resolve the issue.
- Do an authorization trace in TCode ST01 in the consumer system to identify missing auth's.

'No Upload Authorization' While Uploading a Text File from Multiple Select

Hi all,
   The User is trying to upload a text file from Multiple Selection screen of a Query in BEx and it gives the error message of 'No Upload Authorization' (Error DB886).
   In 'Logon data' tab of Tcode SU01, it has 'User' for 'User Group for Authorization check' for this User.
   I could upload a text file from Multiple Selection screen with my User Id.
   An idea about this error, PLEASE ?

Hi Ron,
   This User does not have the access to Tcode ST01.
   The user executed Tcode SU53 immediately following the authorization failure to see the authorization objects. The 'Authorization obj' is blank and under the Description it has 'The last Authorization check was successful' with green tick mark.

Can I use SAP HR to drive ESS Portal user creation?

We are implementing a new instance of SAP HR and Portal for ESS and MSS and I am not sure of all the steps that need to be completed so any guidance / tips would be greatly appreciated.
Company currently has an LDAP - but not used extensively. Not all employees currently in LDAP as not all have network ids. All employees will have a SAP account to enable ESS (via Kiosks etc). ESS iViews in Portal will call SAP HR and possibly SAP BW. We have an instance of SAP already and user admin maintained via CUA - this will continue.
Scenario:
My initial thoughts are that we try to use SAP HR as the leading system to drive the ESS Portal users and access. Basically I want to create the user in SAP and assign them an ESS SAP role... then through syncronization have the user created in the Portal and have the correct ESS Portal assigned (in the Portal)
My thinking so far is to go the following way;
1) Create User Master Record in SAP (SU01)
2) Hire employee into the org structure (via HR processes)
3) Populate Infotype 0105 with SAP username
4) Populate Infortype 1016 - with SAP role to be assigned to allow ESS access (not sure about this aspect) or role could be assigned in 1) above
I am not sure of the next steps - I think there must be a way in an SAP table to map the ESS SAP role to the ESS Portal Role (is this via WP3R?)
then I am hoping that a standard job can be run (is this RSLDAPSYNC_USER) that will create the user in the Portal (UME?) and assign the correct Portal role ?
(obviously configuration needed)
For MSS and HR Power users - we would continue to assign SAP roles via SU01.
Can anyone assist with;
- Is my thinking correct in terms of how this should / could work?
- in SAP how can I map SAP Roles to Portal Roles ?
- will syncronization in SAP create the user in Portal and assign the role ? what do I need to configure?

I just dont know if this can throw some light on your prob.'
In our Orgn we had around 250 ess users and 200 sapr/3 users. Some of the r/3 users also logon to ess via their r/3 uname and password.
What we have done is like follows:
1. Created a role for only the ess users ZHRESS. For this i asked the HR functional people with sap_all profile to do all the job which the ESS users are supposed to do and tracer the authorization via tcode st01. We created the role on the basis of this trace report.
2. For the purely ESS users we created the users via tcode HRUSER and assigned then with the above role.
3. For the R/3 users who are supposed to avail the ess facility we assigned them with the role ZHRESS role in addition to the other roles assigned to them to carry out their normal R/3 transactions. Then we mapped their R/3 uname to their employee no via PA30 infotype 105.
4. Tcode HRUSER saved time which would have consumed had we done it via su01 and moreover it picked Name etc data from the HR master table. In HRUSER tcode , setting the user attributes helps to define what roles the users are to be assigned, what should be their initial password etc.

We have a replicated DBEntityMgr that has lately been running out of memory. We start the partitions (we have 3 replicates of this DB Service Object) with 8MB minimum & 40 MB max for memory parms.
We turned on trace flags trc:os:1:1 and trc:os:5:5.
After a while (sometimes an hour, sometimes half a day) we suddenly start getting Collect Generation, Collect Stable, & Expands, such as:

From the trc:os:5:5 we seem to notice that something called "large non-objects" get big very fast. TechNote 10916 describes large non-objects as "large text strings, network comm buffers, or external connection buffers". We have NO external connections in this Service Object. So, what do the other 2 things mean? How can I see what they are.Thanks for putting up with such a long posting!

SAP HR Administrative Services Authorization

Dear All,
Can you please guide me for the HRAS Authorizations.
I have selected the
P_ASRCONT authorization object
SAP_ASR_EMPLOYEE
SAP_ASR_MANAGER
But still when I pprocess the form, it doesnt go to the next level.
But When I give SAP_ALL, the form is processing.
Please guide which objects am I missing.

Hi,
I don't know the objects by heart and I don't have time to reproduce your scenario. There are plenty of ways to troubleshoot authorisations and in your case I would use authorisation trace (tcode ST01). Setup filtering with your test user-id so reading of the file is very easy.
