Hi all,
We are having a tuxedo environment operated in MP mode. We are using BEA temporary license for the time being. The same license file is used in both master and slave boxes. During booting only servers in master are getting started. I am getting the following error in slave logs:
LIBTUX_CAT:1367: ERROR: Expired TUXEDO System Binary license
But in slave box $TUXDIR/udataobj directory I am having a lic.txt file (same as used in master) with an expiration date set in future.
Is this a problem because I am using the same license file? or am I missing something...

You might check the date of your slave box to see whether it has a proper
time value.

We bought some SDK and RTK tuxedo8.0 licenses. For RTK we have 64 USERS. SDK
has 5 developers and 5 users in the license. What does it mean ? We have installed

You are correct. I think that's the mistake i made. I did not realize that the licenses as by category. Professional/CRM/Logistics etc. Can you please advice what should i do in the following situation.
The mistake i think i had was when it asked me for # of user i just typed 1 thinking i will go back and get the second one. So i requested the second one for same hardware key/install#, environment, etc. and the same type of license (Professional). It did create the license Key but did not get installed thru service manager. Is there a way to fix it ? or i will have to delete the license and reorder 2 together for my Test Environment ?
Secondly I have bought 9 Professional user Licenses. I want to use 2 for my Test environment and 6 for my production and then later move the 2 from test to production. What is the best way to do it ?

Oracle Tuxedo Licensing

Hi All,
I am very new to Tuxedo and I need some guideline from you in licensing tuxedo 11g for a development system.
Our client is having an application whcih is currently running on Tuxedo 8.1 + Oracle 10g and it is as ATMI application. Currently we are having named developer licenses from BEA. They are planning to upgrade the system to Tuxedo 11g + Oracle 11g, keeping the old setup for a while. I am responsible for setting up a new developement environemnt using new versions. As BEA is aquired by Oracle I am not finding sufficient information to see how to so same kind of licensing with oracle.
Below are my question, which may look silly but I very new to this setup and really need your help.
1. Do I have to purchase licenses for developers purpose as I could see there are some options under OTN that we can use the product for development free of cost and for running in production only we have to pay.
2. Is there any way to determine how many of my developer liceses are really being used in the server. I just want to confirm that current develoer licese are getting used by full extend.
3. If I need to purchase licenses, is it possible to have named developer liceses ? Is there any dependency for number of liceses on the server and onlice services or batch jobs.

Although I'm not a licensing expert by any means, from what I read of the OTN license, you can no longer develop your application with an OTN license once the application you are developing has been started to be used. As for other licenses, I believe in general that most Oracle software products are licensed either on the number of cores the product is running on, or on a named user basis. For production, pre-production, testing, QA, and development and disaster recovery, you will most likely need licenses.

'A' Asynchronous update
'S' Synchronous update
If the addition UPDATE is not specified, the processing mode is set to 'A' .
synchronous update
In synchronous update, you do not submit an update request using CALL FUNCTION... IN UPDATE TASK. Instead, you use the ABAP statement COMMIT WORK AND WAIT. When the update is finished, control passes back to the program. Synchronous update works in the same way as bundling update requests in a subroutine (PERFORM ON COMMIT). This kind of update is useful when you want to use both asynchronous and synchronous processing without having to program the bundles in two separate ways.
Asynchronous update
A typical SAP system installation contains dialog work processes and at least one update work process. The update work processes are responsible for updating the database. If, in a dialog work process, the function modules stored in interim storage through CALL FUNCTION ... IN UPDATE TASK are released for processing by means of the ABAP statement COMMIT WORK, the dialog work process will not wait for the update process to finish. This kind of update is called asynchronous update.

Reg : F4 help in disable mode

I have a input field for which search help is assigned.
its working fine.
Now, my req is : I want this field to be in display mode.when the user presses F4 he should get a list of values...when he selects any value ...that should be selected in to the input field.
Same like code wizard...when user presses F4 ..he gets all the nodes and attributes...and he selct some node.....that will be selected in that input field .
any ideas plz

2. After tpconnect (from Tuxedo docs):
[TPENOENT] Cannot initiate a connection to svc
because it does not exist or is not a conversational service.
3. Check SERVER section in ubbconfig,
for example (from Tuxedo docs):
CONV = {Y | N} specifies whether or not the server
is a conversational server.
Connections can only be made to conversational servers,
and rpc requests (via tpacall() or tpcall()) can only be made
to non-conversational servers. The default is N.

Hi Friends, I have a question about the Tuxedo runtime licensing.
Does the Tuxedo runtime license can cover the Oracle Tuxedo software? As I know Tuxedo runtime is an add-on product for Oracle Tuxedo. Thank you:)

I see that you have Tuxedo licenses from BEA. Are you upgrading to Oracle Tuxedo 10.3 or later version from BEA Tuxedo?
Licenses you have cover Oracle Tuxedo as long as use of Tuxedo has not changed. For example, you have BEA Tuxedo Runtime Concurrent User Perpetual license. You can use these licenses with Oracle Tuxedo once you upgrade as long as number of concurrent users do not exceed what you are licensed for.
A SDK developer license is assigned to an individual developer. This individual can use Tuxedo to develop/test Tuxedo applications.

Function Module to Retrieve License Masters Assigned to Customs Declarations

Hi,
Is there a function module in GTS to determine which license masters have been created to release the blocked document?
My requirement is that I need to determine if there is a license master created to release a blocked document. If there is, I need to retrieve the text entered in the "External License Number" field.

Thanks for the responses so far. I don't understand the linkage between maintaining "Default Document for SAP Customs Management" in "Define License Types" configuration activity and having the respective legal regulation / license master appear on the "Documents" tab of the Customs Declaration.
For instance, if I have a legal regulation / license master that was used to unblock the delivery prior to the invoice / customs declaration being created, it will appear on the "Control" tab of the "Customs Declaration"

... how can I get the External License Number from the license above to appear on the "Documents" tab of the Customs Declaration.

Terminal server does not have any installed licenses

Good morning! Faced with a some trouble while configuring Terminal Server (Windows Server 2012 based). I selected licensing mode "Per User" and now I see this message:
“The Remote Desktop Session Host server is in Per User licensing mode and No Redirector Mode, but license server “server name” does not have any installed licenses with the following attributes:
Product version: Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2
Licensing mode: Per User
License type: RDS CALs”
So this is trial using of terminal server - I have 25 days yet but already today I can't connect to server using RDP. There is an error message about absent licensing server. How can I activate licenses in trial mode? Thank you for support.

Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
From the error description it seems that your issue caused by setting up different Licensing mode. We need to install the proper RDS CAL on the License server. If the license server has installed licenses of the other mode, changing the licensing mode
for the terminal server may also resolve the issue.
To change the Licensing mode we can use RD Licensing diagnoser or by PowerShell command.
To change the licensing mode on RDSH/RDVH:
$obj = gwmi -namespace "Root/CIMV2/TerminalServices" Win32_TerminalServiceSetting
$obj.ChangeMode(value) - Value can be 2 - per Device, 4 - Per user

Have you installed License server on Server 2012 and you have RDS CAL of Server 2008 R2?
If that’s the case then first you need to purchase the RDS CAL for server 2012 and then you can configure on server 2012 because server 2012\R2 RDS CAL can work with lower version OS but Server 2008 R2 RDS CAL can’t work on Server 2012\R2.

Nexus 1000v 4.2(1)SV2(2.1a) - License Question

I have two VSM's (vm's) running in HA pair on two blade servers in same HP chassis. In the beginning I was running the 1000v environment using the Eval licensing but now I have installed the Cisco provided license files.
My question is this: When I invoke the command "show license usage NEXUS1000V_LAN_SERVICES_PKG" I see the 6 installed Licenses, however, I also see that the "Installed Licenses in Use equals 0. Should I see Installed Licenses in Use equal 2?

Start LabVIEW in evaluation mode

Hello All,
I am building an NI Dev Suite unattended/silent install which includes LabVIEW 2013, TestStand 2013, Switch Exec, some reuse libraries etc.
The installer works fine. After an automatic restart, I need to apply a configuration (automatically) using VI Package Manager and this requires LabVIEW to be working without prompts for licences etc.
Anyone know of a way to start LabVIEW in evaluation mode by default. Any ini tokens / registry entries may be?
I also need the same thing to happen with TestStand as I need to install some configuration to TestStand too.
All of the software will then be licensed by the user afterwards. I would like to avoid building two installers if I can help it.

I have a question on the second case. When the client doesn't care of which
Tuxedo domain it is hitting. What happens if one of the Tux domain is down ? What
happens to the client request to that domain ?
Another question is lets say i have a Tuxedo configuration as MP mode( Multi
machine mode) how does WTC load balance between the Tuxedo domains.

With this configuration if your client have to call "TOUPPER" service
in
TUX-DOM1 then you code your client to call "TOUPPER1" and the request
will be routed to TUX-DOM1. The same way for request has to go to
TUX-DOM3, your client calls "TOUPPER3" service and WTC will route it
to
TUX-DOM3. In this remote name translation you may have to write 20 EJB
although they are almost the same. However, if your EJB can analyze
your client input to decide which Remote Tuxedo Domain to send the
service request to then you probably only need one EJB.
In the case that your client does not care which remote Tuxedo Domain
provides the service then adding

Will load balance your client "TOLOWER" service request among your 20
remote Tuxedo Domain.
However, there is a bug in WTC that causes the Remote Service Name
translation functionality not working properly. It is fixed in the
upcoming release of WLS.

WTC does not prohibit you from doing it though. Whether you need20
beans or not depend more on you architecture.
To access 20 remote Tuxedo Domain from one single WLS with singleWTC
you can configure 20 remote Tuxedo Domain in the BDMCONFIG (6.1,6.0)
or
from the console (7.0). You import 20 services one from each remote
Tuxedo domain. You write one bean, and deploy one bean. Your WLS
clients will be able to access THE ejb, the EJB will access the WTC
service, and WTC will load balanced the service requests among the20
remote Tuxedo Domain.

RDS 2012 R2 cannot add 3rd party (parent domain) licensing server

Hi,
I have a RDS 2012 R2 farm and i cannot add a 3rd party licensing server that is in a parent domain (forest root domain - hosted by our corp HQ). I will edit deployment properties for the deployment in the first CB server to add a licensing server in per
user mode. Seemes to work, however no licenses are given to SH servers. Have made GPO aswell to explicitly specify licensing server and mode, however i think this should not be neccessary.
Any ideas?

Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
1. In Server Manager -- RDS -- Overview -- Tasks -- Edit Deployment Properties -- RD Licensing tab, please make sure that the Licensing mode is set to match the type of licenses you purchased, and that the FQDN of your RD Licensing server is listed.
2. In Server Manager -- RDS -- Collections -- <your collection> -- Host Servers, please make sure that your RDSH server is listed. If you have more than one server with the RDSH Role Service in your deployment make sure that all of them are
listed. If they are not you may click Tasks -- Add RD Session Host Servers (make sure the servers are part of the Server Manager server pool prior to this).
3. On Server 1, please open an Administrator PowerShell prompt and enter the following command:
Add-WindowsFeature RDS-Licensing-UI
4. After the above powershell command completes you should be able to open RD Licensing Manager (licmgr.exe) on Server 1 if you need to. Please note that it is more important to have the licensing configured properly in deployment properties and your
RDSH servers part of a collection than it is to be able to open RD Licensing Manager on both of your servers.
