Regardding Version check in diffrent SAP Systems

Hi All,
I have one issue regarding version checking in diffrent systems!
I want to know has version been checked in the different systems, if an existing object is being changed / enhanced?
I need to know the above when i am using one program name from other.
Suppose X is my main program for version checking in diffrent systems.
I will be calling X Program from Y Program and i need to know has version been checked in the different systems, if an existing object is being changed / enhanced?
Can anybody solve this issue!

We would like to monitor the SAP ERP productive system from SAP Solution Manager.
Our current solution is based on CCMSPING agent that has been installed on the server of the satellite system.
This solution is not the ideal, because of the CCMSPING stops itself periodically.
Are there other ways, besides CCMSPING agent, to check availability of SAP system?
- User Exit
- Check of RFC connections, etc.

Clarification regarding data upload in to SAP System

Hi All,
The requirements goes like this.
There is a file in the Application Server in which there are many records.
Each record will have to create two Idocs based on two particular fields.
For example, If A, B, C, D are the fields
One Idoc shold have A,B,D fields and another Idoc should have A,C,D fields.
Now, the problem these Idocs should get updated in SAP.
The requirement is so confusing that the Idocs are posted and again updated in the same SAP System.
How to achieve this scenario ? Is is possible to create an Idoc and update the records in the same SAP System.
Do we need to use LSMW along with this in this scenario??
If so, does this LSMW map the same record to two Idocs as mentioned in the above example scenario.
Please provide me with your valuable suggestions...

To find out the SAP version, after login to SAP system in the main menu, goto System------>status, one pop up window comes, look for SAP System data/ Component version.

Backup message error -SAP system is running or SAP user is connected to dat

when the backup started i got this message error ..before starting the backup, the shell shutdown the sap system but below message was showed

Hello Daniela,
you try to perform an offline backup (which is a very uncommon way nowadays) and your SAP system is not down.
This is also described in the official documentation:

offline: Database backup in offline mode, in other words, the database is shut down during backup. When you select this parameter, BRBACKUP checks that no SAP system users are connected to the database. If an SAP System is active, the database is not shut down and BRBACKUP terminates the process with an error message (message number BR0068E).

SAP system requirements to make it available via ITS

Hi Colleagues,
We are using SAP R/3 4.6C with kernel 4.6D patch 2225.
DB is ORACLE release 9.2.0.6.0 and OS is HP-UX B.11.00
The package levels are as follows.
SAP_BASIS SAPKB46C46
SAP_ABA   SAPKA46C46
SAP_APPL SAPKH46C46
Now we are thinking of making our system available via ITS.
We have a seperate ITS instance :
     Windows 2003 Server
     IIS 6.0
     Java (JRE 1.5)
     SAP ITS 6.20 Patch level 20
Could you please let me know some relevant notes/links or some useful documents to check whether our SAP system meets the requirements for ITS?
Basically I am looking for the minimum requirements in SAP R/3 side before going for ITS 620

Yes, ITS 6.20 is the most current release -and I am almost sure that this release will be at least one of the last releases of standalone-ITS.
Plug-In should fit to your portal on the one hand and your backend on the other hand. The plug-in you mentioned here sounds good ...

Monitoring SAP-systems

Hi there,
Our company is currently setting up a monitoring system (Nagios) for the IT-infrastructure.
I'm looking for a consistent check for our SAP systems.
On a Oracle database level, a tnsping <ORACLE_SID> should be sufficient, I believe.
For the app_server, a possibility is to check for the existence of SAP-workprocesses with a ps -ef | grep <SAP_SID>. However, this looks rather primitive.
Are there any SAP tools available to implement a more consistent check on app_server level ?

Hi Eric,
you can use dpmon to check the state of the workprocesses. For example, if they are in PRIV mode, new users won't be able to logon, although on OS level all processes are running fine ...
For J2EE you would have to use jcmon to monitor your instance...

Error when checking for layout in sap system.

   We have downloaded the Adobe Life Cycle Designer 8.0 from service.sap.com.As in our system we have already installed the SAP GUI ,we only run the ALDsetup. exe to install the Adobe Life Cycle Designer 8.0 .When we checked in our backend SAP system in t-code SFP-> Select form-> Display ---> Layout ,then it is giving error below.

Diagnosis
An error occurred in the desktop application while opening a document.
Procedure
Check first whether you can insert a document from this desktop application as an embedded object in another application. The necessary menu item is usually 'Insert --> Object'. The application then lists all of the OLE document types. Choose the type corresponding to the desktop applciation. If the insertion fails, the error is in the desktop application itself.
This error has various causes. Often, it is caused by activating certain add-ins. Sometimes, the desktop application is wrongly installed. The error should not recur once you have disabled any add-ins or reinstalled the desktop application.
Procedure for System Administration
If you cannot solve the problem as described above, enter a problem message. There are notes relating to how to generate the log file using the program SAPROFFICEINTEGRATIONTRACE.

If u want to check in XI system as said by experts you can check in SXMB_MONI transcation(Check for chequred flag:Sucess).If not you need to see the error message and troubleshoot.
if the message is sucess in XI,then goto your R/3 system.
you can check SXMB_MONI in R/3 system.Tis is the message before going to proxy.
Then as experts have already pointed out you must be knowing which tables are getting updated.
check in those tables for the updated data.
otherwise you need to debug proxy,

Is it possible different Versions of GRC works in SAP SAP System.
Means VIRSA CC 4.0 and FF 5.2 works in same System.
But the GRC PATCHES Showing only GRC 5.2 Sp13 patche But not VIRSA CC 4.0 Patches.

I think you can not have two versions of GRC in the same back end system system.
whenever you have new system it upgrades the older version to new versions
