Regarding ADFbound tree search problem

Hi
I have done adf bound tree search after rendered using the following url

The search is happening as expected, but if i select manually any of the node and try for searching , then search is not happening at all .
Can anybody having idea on this ????????

Dear Frank,
The following is my steps
1. First i did search using some 'X'
2. it selected the node 'X' as expected
3. if i just select a node manually using mouse for example 'Y' for drag and drop into another tree
4. Again i do search with any text , This time search is not happening , and it doesnt happen forever until i log out
manual selection using mouse stops the successive search, can not find the reason , please help me out

Anyone out there able to help with some searching problems some of our users have been seeing?
Searching in OWA works fine but some people have problems when searching for older emails in Outlook. We've rebuilt Outlook profiles, rebuilt the windows index's (which seems to work but only temporarily). If there's a way to schedule the Windows index to
rebuild every night or once week, I'd be very happy to test that out but haven't been able to figure out how to do that.

Hi,
It seems something keeps corrupting the index... Run Anti-virus program and Malicious Software Removal Tool to scan your system, check if there's any virus or malware that may cause the index issue.
If this issue persists, please also go to File tab ->
Options -> Search -> Indexing Options
-> Advanced -> Click Troubleshoot search and indexing, to do some troubleshooting steps to find the possible cause.

LDAP sub tree search by OAM during authentication

Hi,
Is it possible to configure OAM to perform sub tree search for user id while authenticating a user. The scenario is - OAM is configured to search LDAP at level ou=comp, dc=com. User ID U01 is stored in ou=fin,ou=comp,dc=com. When user logs in with user ID U01, will OAM search in sub tree level ou=fin,ou=comp,dc=com and not just under ou=comp, dc=com?

Searching problems when implementing my own repository manager

i've serious problems to get the search fuctionality for my own repository manager running. I'm using the 'new', Netweaver-based api.

I'm using EP 6.0 SP2 directly installed from the CD
#51 020 549 without explicit installation of any patch or hotfix; the portal itself shows the version number 6.0.2.0.0 (implementation version 6.2.0.0.200310100950).
I switched on logging but I never reached the INamespaceManager's methods isQueryPropertyNameUnderstood() or getQueryBuilder().
So I figure that this might a problem of my (too old?) unpatched version of EP6????
What can I do to get the serach func running?

Does it mean that I <b>HAVE TO</b> apply at least Patch 4
to get the search working or <b>SHOULD</b> I apply the patch to be up-to-date and look for an error in my code???

Has anyone even heard from Apple regarding the iWeb1.1 problems?

I am curious to know if anyone has contacted tech support via phone or email and received some form of response to this rediculous problem eveyone is experiencing, and if so, what is their response?
I was about to call tech support and/por write but if everyone else has, why waste my time.

Here is the reply I got from Apple, the solutions do not work by the way :-

Tree Query Problem

I've problem with tree query where if a level > 3 the result for top level is incorrect.

Extended search problem in SRM

Hi,
We have a problem with extended search in SRM while checking the status.
In Status
If I have selected 'Awaiting approval' and clicked on start button, now it is showing all the SC of awating approvals status.
If I have selected 'In approval inbox' and clicked on start button, now it is showing all
the SC of 'In your Inbox' & 'Awaiting approval' status.
If I have selected both 'In your inbox' in status and check 'Bought on Behalf of' and clicked on start button, now it is showing the SC's of 'Awaiting approval' and normal SC(without creating with on behalf of).
What might be the issue. How to solve.
Any OSS Notes available for this issue.

Hi Jagan,
If your SC is considered as complete by SRM (but with a fixed vendor and not a preferred vendor) the system will check if it can create a PO in R/3.
For this, each item will request a META_INTERPRETE_DATA to R/3, asking if it can create a PO. If R/3 considers this data as incomplete, it will reply to create a PR.
Usual cases of R/3 PR creation instead of PO:
- prefered vendor in SRM (and not a fixed one)
- custom checks in user exits in R/3
- error messages in R/3 (ex: O6 334 In the case of a fixed vendor, please enter info record)

E-Recruitment Candidate Search Problem

Hi,
I have done the Trex config properly. In table T77RCF_EXT_PUB it is showing 'X' in published , therefore Ithink trex is configured properly. But still when I am goin for search it is showing blank result. while there is data in database.
When I checked the logs of RCF_PERIODICAL_SERVICES then it is showing error in each run.
Errors are -

1. First and foremost, try Re-Activating / regenerating the STANDARD classes in the PERIODIC SERVICES table. But before activating, try executing the class. If the class gives a dump that means thats the problem class. However, even if it does not give a dump, re-activate it.
Start this activation process with the root class which i think in your case is CL_HRRCF_FRKWF_STORAGE. Try debugging the class and check where the exact point of error lies. If its another class within this class also try activating that sub-class. Everything depends on where the problem error occurs. Try executing that problem object independently and i am sure it will give a dump at some point.
This is an INCONSISTENCY problem which often comes up during upgrade or installation.
2. Also, check the content server settings or whether the
content server has been properly configured. Maybe reconfiguring will solve the issue.
But i am sure regenerating the objects will solve the issue

"Exact Search" problems (still)

Saw a post about a month ago indicating that "Exact Search" returns non-revelant items.
It still has a problem.
When searching for (example) "scripting additions", hits include anything with only the word scripting,
anything with only the word additions,
anything with the words scripting additions,
and anything that has (double quotes)scripting, or
additions(double quotes).
And here's another "hit"
!!! I know that's a trite word to use but I can't contain my excitement. I did a Google search for "invisible" and "AppleScript" and after going through 10 pages of links, I concluded that it couldn't ...

This morning as I am attempting to give you an example, I find that the search seems to be functioning as it should... Could I have been tired last night? (I was, but not that tired!)
All the exact searches returned info that I would have expected...although I do see that information not relevant to the search is sometimes highlighted in yellow in the initial search result window (quotes, or single words of the phrase being searched for):

Finder Search problems with contractions

The finder search seems to have issues with contractions.
If I search for the song title "I Don't Want To Lose You", I get nothing. If I search for "want to lose you" then it works. VERY frustrating to have to alter search especially when I have thousands of songs to search through.

Recursive & Loadable WD-Tree-Tutorial: Problems with parameters; NullPointe

Hello all, it's me again
This time I have a problem with the Tutorial called "Constructing a Recursive and Loadable WD-Tree". I followed each step in detail, but when I deploy it all I see several errors/mistakes in my resulting App:
1. I can click on the "directories" in this example and the directory-text is displayed in the InputForm. Normally it should only display "filenames", not directory-names... I checked the bool-properties in the addChildren-method and they are set as it's said in the tut.
2. When I try to expand any of the two nodes (C or Games; D is already expanded and includes "Games") I get a NullPointerException for the addChildren()-method in the first line (parent.nodeChildNode();). So the parameter "parent" is null or does at least not contain what it's expected to.
3. I have some Warnings: "TreeNodeType 'onAction.onAction': Parameters of action 'Select' and event 'onAction' are not compatible" and the same again for the second action (LoadChildren). So perhaps problem 2 can be solved by solving no 3?!
I'm stuck. Can anyone help me please?
I doublechecked that everything is as said in the tutorial.

I realized I had an "Warning"-Message at my View-Context-Root-Node, where it said "Migrate Context". After I did this I get an "internal server error", Failed to process request.
Hmm, it seems as if there were a lot of changes from NW2004 to NW7.1, cause when I try to deploy the ready-to-deploy-tutorial (downloadable along with the Initial project template from SDN) I get deployment errors.
So I'll stop it now or perhaps try my own implementation (with java.io.File and recursive methods and loadable tree) to get familiar with the tree-thing in WD/Java

request: integrate guided search into fatwire, we need to dig the potential ability of mdex in processing the chinese search.
The user guide declares that the Supplemental Language Pack includes support for Japanese, Chinese, and Korean dictionary files.
The main way is to add an auxiliary Chinese segmentation dictionary. also, we can get the some jar packages mentioned in Asian Languages Best Practices_v2.3 - DRAFT.pdf to enhance splitting tokens.
problems follow:
1. the development environment is difficult to build.
1.1 workbench can't be installed well in win2008R2. error message"setup was unable to modify the endeca tools service parameters".
1.2 In oracle linux environment , the main components had been installed.(mdex,workbench,Platform Services,API). the CAS has been installed, but when run ./cas-service.sh, the cursor stop and not any message output. But in workbench(localhost:8006), I can connect the cas server via data source tap.
2. sample application can't be deploy.

But I indeed see myapp in workbench via web browser.

Sounds like you're experiencing several issues. Let me try to answer a couple of these.
Regarding "Asian Languages Best Practices_v2.3 - DRAFT.pdf", I believe this is an internal only doc. If you're with Oracle, contact the author directly and we can take this subject offline.
Regarding your "ENDECA_MDEX_ROOT" issue, have you checked your %ENDECA_CONF%\conf folders eac.properties file. In it you will see the definition for your com.endeca.mdexRoot. Please make sure that points to your MDEX folder.
For example: I have MDEX 6.2.2 installed in the default directory, so my com.endeca.mdexRoot is set to c:\\Endeca\\MDEX\\6.2.2

--Did you create your application first using the Deployment template? and run initialize services? Once your application is created via initialize services, you should be able to see your app in workbench.
