Regarding ALV Field Catalogue

Hi ,
Checked in the forum for this issue. => Not a wise plan to hoodwink the Moderators.
Could not find any.Guide me.
SAY i have a table  CRICKET with 2 fields
1) PLAYER
2) SCORE
Records are say::
PLAYER    SCORE
SACHIN     50
RAHUL      40
SEHWAG  100
In Selection Screen, i have a field PLAYER.
a)If user enters value SACHIN in field PLAYER..
output shd be:
SACHIN
50
b)If user enters value SACHIN,RAHUL,SEHWAG in Selection screen,
output shd be
SACHIN     RAHUL   SEHWAG
50             40             100
Mean to say dynamically creating the fields based on inputs entered by user.
In ALV field catalog there is option NO_OUT ='X' to hide the fields.
But not able to get how to compare with values entered by user.

Hi manju
suppose you have a table(itab) in which you have all the data related to player and the score.
before displaying the data to ALV apply the condition like:
fetch score from DBTABLE into table itab where player in s_player.
where s_player is your select option.
and then pass your ITAB to ALV.
i hope it will work.

    Dear Friends;
    I have a problem with field catalog update of ALV grid. I have designed an initial screen for selections and there are two pushbuttons here. According to the pushbutton selection the field catalogue values change, ie. some fields are hidden etc. After the first selection this works but if i exit the second screen and go to the selection screen to change my selection the fieldcatalogue is not updated accordingly altough i call the relevant fm. i fill in fieldcat with fm LVC_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE.
    Can someone suggest a solution pls?

  • Regarding alv field catalog!

    hi.  iam new to ALV. my query is,
    iam building the fieldcatalog manualy by populating the internal table fields individually and then appending the rows. This method is most time consuming.
    Can anyone suggest alternate method with an example? points will be rewarded.!!

  • How to populate field catalogue fields in ALV using  dynamic internal table

    Please let me know how to populate field catalogue fields in ALV using  dynamic internal table.
    I have created <dyn_table> using code below.

    segment field 1, segment field 2 etc..Now idoc no.,creation date  are static fields from table EDIDC. And segment field 1, segment field 2 etc are dynamic fields from table EDSAPPL.
    In my  ALV report I am getting the final layout properly but I am unable to move values to corresponding fields in the final layout shown.Please let me know how to populate these fields from different tables.
    I tried this way but its not working.

  • Field catalogue for ALV Grid when program is run in the background

    Hi All,
    I have an ALV report that contains approx 27 fields.  Not all of these fields will be relevant for different Users, and many will want to change the order the fields appear in.
    When running on line the User can set a variant to present the data as they wish.  However, I need to email this report to the SAP Inbox with the fields displayed in the same Order with uncessary fields hidden as stated in the Field Catalogue.
    On-line none of this is an issue, however GET_FRONTEND_FIELDCATALOG cannot be used in Background, and attribute MT_FIELDCAT_LOCAL is Private and cannot be accessed.
    I have looked at using Class CL_ ALV_VARIANT to try to read the Variant being used, but couldn't get the information about the Variant coming back, instead I get an error in CL_ALV_VARIANT->LOAD_VARIANT.
    Can anybody recommend how to the Field Cat for a Variant for background processing?

    Hi.
    You can not use an ALV report in Background or write to spool because it is a kind of dialog program.
    You can write only  a List report to spool so please find others sulotions.

  • 2 Field Catalogues in ALV list

    Hi All,
    I want to have 2 headers in ALV list. So Can we have 2 field catalogue one after the other in a single ALV List. Where first header(row) gives title like "Previous 5 months " & 2nd header (row) gives sub title like " JAN  FEB  MAR  APR  MAY ".
    & then the data flows into the columns from the table 't_outtab'.

    You can do this using ALV list with some extra coding..
    But in other cases(Grid etc it is not possible).

  • Help needed regarding ALV report

    Hi,
    I have a query regarding ALV report.
    The requirement is as follows:-
    When the user executes the ALV report and if he sums one numeric field column values and filters out some of the field columns ( for example there r 5 columns in the report and the user has filtered out 2 of them and viewing only 3 columns)
    and now the requirements is that when the user runs the report later he should see the modified report ( i mean only 3 cloumns and the total value of the column which he has made) but not the original output which was there when the report was developed.
    First of all i wanna know is it possible to do r not. If yes then how

    Yes you can! You have to manage the layout variant.
    So when you call your ALV you have to set the parameter I_SAVE = 'A'.
    In this way you'll allow the user to save the variants for layout.
    After you has to have a chance to choose the variant in selection-screen.

  • Decimal Value display in ALV Field display

    Hi Expert,
    I need to dispaly one ALV Field "Routine Work Hour" value up to 2 decimal place in ALV output i.e if value is 2.5 then it should display as 2.50.The field which refers to this is ISMNW and the database table is AFRU.Now if this value is maintained in MINUTE unit, then code converts into HOUR unit and correctly outputs to ALV output up to 2 decimal after i changed the field decimal lenght.But for the value which is mainatined in HOUR unit, it correctlty populated into the final internal table upto 2 decimal and this table data while passing into FM " REUSE_GRID_DISPLAY" it only outputs upto 2 deciamal value for the value which is maintained as MINUTE unit in database table AFRU in ALV output, but for other value(Which are maintained in HOUR unit in table AFRU)  it still shows 1 decimal length.But the internal table correctly populates these values up to 2 decimal for all unit of work(MINUTE/HOUR) while passing though this above FM.
    Please advise where i need to look into.

  • Regarding error "Field symbol is not assigned." during print preview

    Hi experts,
        I am getting dump while trying print preview for particular POs in ME23n transaction(ECC 6.0). Please refer the below dump error:

         Field symbol is not assigned.
    What happened?
         Error in the ABAP Application Program
         The current ABAP program "SAPLSTXC" had to be terminated because it has
         come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
    What can you do?
         Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
         To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
         administrator.
         Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
         at and manage termination messages, and you can also
         keep them for a long time.
    Error analysis
         A field symbol that was not assigned was accessed
         (data segment no. 32769).
        The field symbol is no longer assigned because there was an attempt
        makde previously in a Unicode program to set the field symbol using
        ASSIGN with offset and/or length specification. Here, the memory
        addressed by the offset/length specification was not within the
        allowed area.
    How to correct the error
        If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
        find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
        If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
        keywords:
        "GETWA_NOT_ASSIGNED_RANGE" " "
        "SAPLSTXC" or "LSTXCFFT"
        "FT_COMPOSE"
        If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
        notification to SAP, include the following information:

       2. Corresponding system log
          Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.

    I am getting this dump only for few POs.. Rest of the POs are able to print. I am not able to find notes for this issue. Is there any SAP notes available for that  or Is there any configuration issue related to this?
    Please provide solution for thsi as soon as possible.

    A field symbol is not assigned, but thats what the dump is telling you. Mostly this happens, when fields or function modules are stored by name, like the fieldnames in the fieldcatalog in an ALV report. It a field referenced in such a way does not exist you will get this error. Always store fieldnames and function names in capital letters and check mistyping of 1L 8B and so on.

  • 1000 CHARACTER TEXT IN ALV FIELD

    Hi Experts,
    I have a String type variable containing 1000 character text that I am passing in a field on ALV. But ALV field can display on 132 characters. So now my requirement is that when a user double clicks on that field... then a popup or a screen appears where the user can read the entire text of that field.
    I have tried some FMs (like POPUP_TO_CONFIRM, POPUP_TO_INFORM, POPUP_DISPLAY_TEXT etc...), but all have length restriction.
    Please suggest if there is any FM to get the entire 1000 character text on a popup....  OR if there is any other way to do this...

  • How to create a field catalogue dynamically?

    Hi guys,
          I have to create a field catalogue dynamically. I am creating the internal table dynamcially. It is <fs_dyn_table>. I am passing this to the function module REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE.
    <fs_dyn_table> contains five fields kunnr, land1, name1, ort01 and telf1 which i am passing from selection screen.
    This is how my function module is
