Regarding Analytics component in SAP CRM
Hi,
Currently I am working on CRM analytics and we are using SAP BI system for all the reporting.
We also have a BI component in built in the SAP CRM system which has all the necessary tools for all types of CRM relevant analysis.
Has anybody got a chance to use this component. If so then can you explain how is it different from the analytics work which we are doing and wat are the capabilities of this component as a standalone for CRM analytics without using the SAP BI?

Please find the following details , may be it will be helpful to you.
1) Service notification is created in case of emergeny shutdown , equipment malfunction scenarios.We can create follow-up documents for service notification like service orders as well.
2) It is created independently or a service order can be created as follow-up document.
3) Yes service notification gets replicated to IS-U and we can see the same in IW53.

I would like to use the SAP CRM 5.0 Logical Component as Delivered by SAP. The systems are already upgraded but I cannot seem to Acitvate this in transaction SMSY. CRM SERVER 4.0 is active and can be used.

Yes you can install it later not just for CRM but for any SAP Solution from the Business Suite or SAP NW04s.
You have to start JSPM and select Install Additional Usage Type and select JCRM.
Make sure after you install the new type to check your software components
http://HOST:5XX00/sap/monitoring/SystemInfo. to see if all your components are in the correct stack.

Steps:
1) Activate the application component hierarchy (tcode RSA9). Changes made to the application component hierarchy in the CRM system can be transferred to the BW using the "Edit Application Component Hierarchy" (SBIW - Postprocessing of DataSources).
SAP Note 434886 must be implemented in CRM 3.0 before the application component hierarchy is activated.
2) Activate the Business Content DataSources (tcode RSA5).
Select/enter the application component and choose Execute (F8).
To compare the shipped and active versions, choose the 'Select Delta' pushbutton. If there is no active version of the DataSource, it is selected automatically.
To activate the shipped version, choose the 'Transfer DataSources' pushbutton.
3) Management of the versions of the BW-Adapter metadata (tcode BWA5). All DataSources are displayed that are managed by the BW Adapter.
As in transaction RSA5 (Service API Metadata Activation), the 'Select Delta' function can be used to select the inactive DataSources or compare shipped and active versions.
You can also go directly to the screen for maintaining DataSources that are managed by the BW Adapter.
The 'Compare Version' function makes a detailed comparison of the shipped and active versions.
All BW-Adapter metadata is considered when versions are compared:

Global selection conditions (Table SMOXGSEL)
Attribute key fields (Table SMOXAFLD)

S_DEVELOP authorization needed for CRM Web Client in SAP CRM 7.0?
We implemented an own WebUI component in SAP CRM 2007 and use it in others components (with USAGE).
After we transport the component in SAP CRM 7.0 we always got an error CX_BSP_DLC_CONFIG_GENERAL_ERR at loading the component. But if we set the permission to SAP_ALL all thing work fine.
In SAP Note Nr. 1367944 we read:
"It is not possible to run the CRM Web Client without the S_DEVELOP, activity=03
authorization because it is needed by the Web Client Framework.
The S_DEVELOP authorizatin is part of the SAP_CRM_UIU_FRAMEWORK PFCG role, which must
be assigned to every user."
"This dependency has been removed in CRM 7.0."
Do we need to install some other SAP Notes at SAP CRM 7.0?

I asked my collegue here, who created the note.
The note is correct, in CRM 7.0 you do not need S_DEVELOP anymomre.
The error that you have might occur because of another reason.
Could you track the call stack of this exception?
And send me back the call stack?

The opportunity in the ERP what type of sales document has to be? and how it connects with the opportunity in CRM? Does it have the same code?
which Customizing adapter objects (R3AC3) need to be downloaded from CRM to ECC? and from ECC to CRM? And Business adpater objects (R3AC1)?
Is there any need for additional customizing?

Web Services of SAP CRM ABAP 7.0 not show up
Hello Experts,
We are testing SAP CRM 7.0.
In T-cd:sproxy in CRM system, the Software Component Version SAP CRM ABAP 7.0 doesn't show up.
We'd like to see the web service definitions for CRM Service Processing,
but can't find them such as "ServiceOrderCRMCreateRequestConfirmation_In"(described in ES Workplace)
to create Service Order in T-cd:sproxy nor T-cd:SE80 Repository Information System>Enterprise Services>Service Definitions.
(We found the web service definitions of SAP CRM ABAP 5.1 there, but not SAP CRM ABAP 7.0)
The support package versions are as follows:
- SAP_ABA : SAPKA70106
- SAP_BASIS : SAPKB70106
- PI_BASIS : SAPK-70106INPIBASIS
- BBPCRM : SAPKU70006
Could you please advise us what's required to find Web Services SAP CRM ABAP 7.0?

You need to download SWCV "SAP CRM ABAP 7.0" in your CRM system from service market place. Also download PI content for SWCV: "SAP CRM ABAP 7.0" and import them in ESR.

Direct certification in SAP CRM
Hi Forum,
This query is regarding direct certification in SAP CRM. I have read other threads but could not figure out one detail.
I qualify most of the condition laid for direct certification, I have done a few implementations on CRM 5.0 and most of my experience is in version 5.0 only, but I would like to give my certification in CRM 7.0.
As most of the certifications in 5.0 are already discontinued except the Associate one, will I be allowed to take certification in 7.0?
The condition laid by SAP says:
u201CTo appear for Associate level certification without attending any SAP course you need Minimum 1 year of SAP Implementation Experience with minimum of 6 months experience in the module and version in which you wish to take up certificationu201D
Please clarify if someone has similar experience.

I have seen many job offers on the net for applicants with a work permit only.

CRM service : The organisation which are providing service for there sold products mostly implelents SAP CRM Service.
i.e. LG is providing service for there sold products TV, A/C and many more.
Now the scenario is like this each company is having there differnt methods to provide service for products.
Service is always calculated with help warranty period for each product which is sold.And we have to MAP all the Service process for client in SAP CRM.
suppose take this scenario as example :
foe service center of LG :
1) The employee at service center will get a call for providing service for one of the product which was sold by LG e.g. TV.
2) Then at service center end the employee will raise the service order for this LG TV.
3) Now order will contain the header and item data for that LG TV.
4) Then this service order will be processed at various stages e.g after raising the open service order technician will get that ref order no and then technician will visit the customers home for analysing the LG TV then he will again come to service center and updatyes the service order i.e. Is that TV is within the warrenty or not depends on that type of service order will be decide is In Warrenty service order or out waarenty service order.
4) Finaaly it will get settled at the upper most level where that the completed status.
5) One more thing all craeted service orders are getting replicated to ECC as a sales order.
Rest of the scenarios are almost same like CRM Sales.
But in CRM Service you have to face different different Methods of providing service for customer and its tough to MAP in SAP because every Compny is having there on process of giving service to the customers .

Question regarding Authorizations in SAP CRM 7.0

The problem is this:
We have a client who will use two ways of accessing SAP CRM 7.0 data -
1. CRM Web UI
2. Mobile devices via standard SAP CRM BAPIs
Now the situation is that the client wishes to control display authorizations based on the Business Role. Certain Business Roles can allow its User to see Accounts where the User is also Employee Responsible and certain other Business Roles can allow its User to see all those Accounts that are associated with that Role. In summary Business Roles control what an User can see.
This has already been implemented for the CRM Web UI using the Access Control Engine (ACE).
Now the questions are:
1. How do we implement this for BAPI Access?
2. Should we recreate what has been achieved by ACE, via PFCG Authorization Profiles?
3. Can we not reuse what has been done by ACE?
4. What are the runtime APIs that allow somebody to use the authorization checks of ACE?
5. Does the standard Function Module CRM_ORDER_CHECK_AUTHORITY_ACE help in this regard?
Any help here will be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if you need any clarifications.

Normally, some notes are recommended in addition to the current support package implementation because they were developed to solve any known issues. These known issues occurred as side effect of any note which belongs to the implemented support package.
If you take a look at older release notes, you will see the same.

the future is definitely going to be bright with the rise in development and modernisation across the globe inorder to be a better place where you get quality in time all the time. For all this to happen industries would want to have a strong ERP system in place and there comes SAP. The number one in the ERP segment. And thus you can find oppurtunities in SAP SD and grow further with the addition of CRM as the internet segment is further geared for a huge growth. So, CRM on internet, mobile are few of the things going to be in demand.
India is one place where SAP AG is particularly interested as the environment is poised for growth at par with China.
