Regarding BASIS software Component 7.01

Hi All,
Our basis team applied EHP1 SAP NetWeaver 7.01to our landscape and they have imported the BASIS software component "SAP BASIS 7.01" to PI system .
Now i have Two BASIS software components "SAP BASIS 7.0" and "SAP BASIS 7.01"
I have already configured many interfaces in Configuration , all Adapters are using the BASIS software component as "SAP BASIS 7.0". How can i make use of "SAP BASIS 7.01" for all which is already configured?
I can select the "SAP BASIS 7.01" for newly creating communication channels
what abt already existing communication channels??
Generally what would be the procedure for this when we have new BASIS SWCV???

not true for IDOC adapter there are many new parameters now
like idoc packaging
so there are some important changes with some adapters but you don't need to change it if you don't need to use them

Sproxy: Can only see Basis Software Component

Hi Experts,
I am working on 7,4 dual stack PI.
Recently done with all the configurations in PI .But now I want proxy communication with ECC.
For this I created one H type and one G type RFC destinations in ECC to fetch ESR object from PI.
For now I have create only one SWC in SLD of PI and imported it in ESR .Created one Namespace under that.
But ,when I run SPROXY in ECC, it shows only SAP BASIS 7.4 software component and not the other SWC of ESR.
Do we need additional configuration for each of SWCV to get displayed in ECC SPROXY???
I refered the IDES system , in that too I noticed one thing that , out of all the SWC created in ESR of PI only few are diaplyed in IDES ECC SPROXY
why so?

See note 1528587 PI ESR Content Objects are not visible in SPROXY, for a description of how/why this can occur. But it may not be the same in your case.

Why Underlying Software Component not in BASIS objects

Hi,
this problem has puzzled me for a while.
I've create a software component SC1 in SLD with dependance on 2 software components SC2 and SC3 .
SC2 also has a dependance on SC3.
When I import the software component from SLD , SC2 and SC3 are liste un the "underlying software component versions for basis objects list" in the SLD Information tab of the Software component in ESR . However, in the details tab , only SC3 appears in the underlying software component versions list.
This then means that SC2 is not in the basis objects and I need to manually add the SC2 in the details tab in order to use it.
I dont mind but when you transport the SC, you need to do this again in every environnement which is error prone.
Does anyone know why this is the case ... ? Do you have the same problem ? Solutions ?

if A is dependend from B (you see B as prerequisite in A) then you should have :
at IB Repository A:
own namespaces and imported object
basis objects with
B-namespace and imported objects, not changeable (if they are active in B!)
at IB Repository B:
only own namespace and imported objects

Error during import/export Software Component in IR

After updating XI(DEV) to following SP19 stacks, the problem was encountered with the export or import of design objects in integration repository.
All following were completed successfully,
1. SAP KERNEL 6.40, to latest patch level 155;
2. SAP BASIS 6.40, from SP15 to SAPKB64019;
3. SAP ABA 6.40, from SP15 to SAPKA64019;
4. SAP J2EE ENGINE 6.40, from SP15 to SP19;
5. XI ADAPTER FRAMEWORK CORE 6.40, from SAPXIAFC15 to SAPXIAFC19;
6. XI ADAPTER FRAMEWORK 6.40, from SAPXIAF15 to SAPXIAF19;
7. XI TOOLS 6.40, from SAPXITOOL15 to SAPXITOOL19;
When we try to import the Software Component XI3_0_SAP_BASIS_6.40_19_00.tpz, a problem happened with the exception (See Exception below), and then we cannot log in any component of JAVA stack for unauthorized reason untill we restart the J2EE engine.
When we try to export the Software Component, the exporting procedure will be interupted for some exsited or unexsited(maybe already-deleted) message interfaces (See , and then we cannot log in any component of JAVA stack either as after importing.

If I use the "release transfer" function of IR, the new created version can be export correctly.
I've tried to create a new SC and SWCV, it can be export & import correctly.
Also, if copied all of the objects from a namespace to a new namespace, and delete the old one, that SWCV can be export correctly.
Anyone knows what's wrong within my IR?

While Importing some components has missed and the Exception is unable to handle it. Is it possible for you to Import again and check the table space is sufficient.

Software component with Key ID does not exist

Hi Friends,
           Here I am in need of your help. I got involved in an upgrade from XI 3.0 to PI 7.1. The Basis has imported all the SWC & Business systems from XI 3.0. When I am trying to activate the objects imported from IR of XI3.0 then It is triggering an error as
data retrieving failed from Adapter Metadata | RFC http://sap.com/xi/XI/System. /// ROA_MOA_NOTCOMPLETED.
            Because of this I am unable to activate the imported objects in ID by showing the message as Software component with key ID XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX does not exist.
            when I went there to ESR then under a software component I found a message under underlying components like             " XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX not exist" but I am not aware of the object related to that Key ID.

         I got the alternative solution for my problem. All credit goes to you. I recreated the communication channels instead of using the same ones after Upgrad. Any way we need to change the communication channels after importing the channels but the system is giving the above error message as   "Adapter Software component with Key ID XXXXXXXX...... does not exist".
         But its allowing me to create a new channel. Then based on the neetesh suggestion, I went through and create the new comm channels instead of wasting so much time on the same issue.

If yes Software unit is a particular aspect of the Product functions.It is a logical link between the product version and the software component version.
A product version consists of multiple software units. These units are implemented by various software components (or versions).
The product SAP R/3 Enterprise, which represents an SAP technical component, has, among other things, a product version SAP R/3 Enterprise Core 4.7. The software unit that represents the functions of this product version has the same description as the product version. Various software components (or versions) fill the functions of this software unit. These software components (or versions) are, among others, SAP Basis 6.20, SAP HR 4.70, and SAP Enterprise Retail 1.10.

This help file will give you information about Software Unit if PI 7.0 is installed on your machine.

I think basis guy should know this, it`s on software component level.
i know a tcode 'SGEN', but this is used to define a background job then compiling the software component. I`m not sure the background job log whether have this kind of error message if there are SYNTAX error.

How to update objects of sub software component version?

I have two SWCV, say SWCV_BASE and SWCV_DERIVE, SWCV_DERIVE is based on SWCV_BASE. So the objects which belong to SWCV_BASE are also availabe in the BASIC OBJECTS directory under SWCV_DERIVE.
My question is:
When I make some change in SWCV_BASE, how to reflect this modification to the SWCV_DERIVE? Currently whatever I do to SWCV_BASE, the change can't be transferd to BASIC OBJECTS in SWCV_DERIVE. Does anyone know how to syncronize the objects in SWCV_DERIVE to get the newest ojbects in SWCV_BASE.

I have another question which has confused me for long time. It would be apprecaited if you could give me some light. According to sap documentation, through sub software component version we can reuse or do some customer modification to some SAP XI OBJECTS. But when I import some SAP software component version like SAP BASIS 6.20, I find nothing inside it. So when, how and where can we use SAP XI OBJECTS?

An R/3 system is going to transfer data with a database.
R/3 (IDoc) <-> Database (JDBC)
IDocs can be devided into two types:
1. idocs shipped by SAP.
2. customized idocs.
In my understanding, when I import some sap software component version like SAB BASIS 6.20. I should be able to find the SAP shipped idocs. But nothing is there.
So Should I import the SAP shipped idocs into the SAP software component version? Then create a customized software component version based on SAP component version, where I import the customiyed idocs.
Could you give me some advice?

Upgrade Support Package for one Software Component

Dear Experts,
I am new with SAP Basis Administrator and I have new task to upgrade EA-HR software component from release 600 sp30 to release 602 sp9.
Actually, EA-HR component in Development system already in release 602 sp9 while quality and production in release 600 sp30. This is where the problem started, since there is one SAP Note we need to apply that depends on the release version. The consultant wants to do the changes in development and transport it to quality then production. Since the way to apply SAP Note is vary based on EA-HR release version, the consultant wants the release version of EA-HR in all systems to be the same.
I have download support package for EA-HR 602 sp9.
My question is very basis, how to upgrade EA-HR component to release 602 sp9?

This is a no go... This is why most people call for a development freeze while the system is been patched.

You system is not consistent, transporting data into a system with a different patch set can cause serious problems. You are going to have to tell your consultant that he'll have to wait until the whole landscape is patched to the same level.
Who upgraded the component in DEV??
The note also states that this corrections are available for 600 so there was no need for 602 if you are not planning a EHP upgrade..

SPAM/SAINT - OCS package does not match current software component vector

Hello Experts,
This could happen on any type of system I suspect, but it is on my Solution Manager (7.01 on Eh1). I downloaded a support stack (27)and was checking the components requirements. I use the Directory box in SPAM, and I go into New Support Packages. I highlight the support package for ST 400 then click on the Queue button. It comes back with this message: OCS package SAPKITL437 does not match the current software component vector.
I click continue and the requirements window comes up. It shows that I have currently loaded the wrong BI_Content. It says: Non-permitted release of add-on BI_CONT installed. The release information is BI_CONT,706.
If I go back to the main window to look at the current package level, I see that BI_CONT component release (loaded) is 704 - sp 8.
I must have gotten very creative when loading that back in 2008. MOPZ was used, but it was before the support stack restrictions were in place on my system.
I can't get around this issue, because even trying to load the Basis support package I get this message.
If anyone has had the problem and knows what to do I would appreciate some help. Notes searching has not found anything. So far my Customer message has not been helpfull, but it is not SAP support .

Please, check prerequisites for SAPKITL437 in SPAM.
It seems like you need to install/update some components in SAINT before.

Get version of Application / Software Component in Java

Hi guys,
im searching for a way to get the version / buildinformation of a software component in java.
I can get the version and buildinformation of a single project from the META-INF but not the buildinformation or versionnumber of the whole Application.
I there a way to get the actual buildinformation of a whole Application?

Go to the SLD, go to the software component SC2 and you will have an option Dependency and as shown in michal's blog make this SC2 dependent on SC1.
Next, reimport your Software Components SC1 and SC2 in your IR . The old objects will contnue to exists but still clear the SLD cache, and reimport the SC1 and SC2 from the SLD.
Now in SC2 you will see a new option called BASIS objects under which you can see the message interfaces of SC1.

Insufficient authorization to import software component version from SLD

hi guru
i can not import software component version from SLD into ESR. once the software component version has been chosen, a message will be displayed, Insufficient authorization to create object ElementTypeId: 0, Name: SALES, Vendor: sap, Version: 1.0, GUID: 32e93300b3e511decc06ecae0a421877, after CREATE button has been clicked.
any ideas? thanks

Hi Stephen,
If you want to create the SWCV and import that SWCV to the IR/ESR then your user having either one of the below roles.
SAP_XI_ADMINISTRATOR
SAP_XI_CONTENT_ORGANIZER
Go to transaction SU01 and give your user name and click on display.
Now click on Roles tab, here you check the above roles are appearing or not, if not then you don't have privilizes to do that things.
If you don't have that credentials then contact your BASIS guy.

Ajuda com Product/Software Component/Business System

Preciso de uma ajuda de vcs, estou com um ambiente que o BASIS instalou tudo mas o Produto/Software Component SAP NFe 1.0 não está aparecendo no SLD portanto nao consigo fazer a amarracao com o Business System ( que foi criado ).
Vcs sabem me falar a nota ou sp que crie/instale esse produto no meu SLD?

Atualize a versao do SAP CR Content para qq versao superior a 3.10 (recomendacao eh a a ultima versao disponivel, acho q é 6. alguma coisa). Detalhes de como faze-lo: SAP Note 669669.

Some Software Component Versions do not show up in transaction sproxy

I have a landscape with a CRM system, a PI system (with the SLD on it) and some other systems.
In transaction sproxy in the CRM system the Software Component Version SAP CRM ABAP 7.0 shows up, but others that should be there like SAP ABA 7.01 are not there.
So I went on the SLD and edited the technical system for the CRM system, I added the product SAP CRM 7.00 and set the checkmark for installed for the relevant SWCVs like SAP ABA 7.01.
I then went to the business system for the relevant CRM client and there also checked those SWCVs.
But still they do not show up in transaction sproxy in the CRM system.
What am I missing?
