Regarding BiReport conf on portal

Dear Experts,
I have a req:I want to configure a BI report into [portal
Plz give me the solution.

Creating an BEx Web Application iView
1.     Right-click on the iViews folder, and choose New → iView. The iView Wizard displays.
2.     Select iView template create an iView from an existing iView template radio button.
3.     Choose Next.
4.     In the iView Wizard, select BEx Web Application iView radio button.
5.     Choose Next.
6.     Enter a name, iView ID and iView ID Prefix.
7.     Choose Next.
8.     Choose SAP BW2.x/3.x or SAP netweaver radio button from Version.
9.     Choose Next.
10.     Select the SAP BW system alias SAP_BW and in the BEx Web Application Query String, give Template = webtemplate name
11.     Choose Next.

If you do not have the URL for the query you wish to create an iView for, simply log into the SAP BW system and launch the Query in the Web Browser. Select the query string in the URL navigation bar by highlighting it and copying it. You can paste this into the iView Wizard field, BEx Web Application Query String.
12.     Select the Open for editing when Wizard completes check box.
13.     Choose Finish.
14.     In the Property Category drop list, choose Appearance Size.
15.     Make modifications to the Attributes by changing Height Type to FULL_PAGE.
16.     Choose Save.
17.     Choose Preview to preview the iView.
Ensure your user is mapped to the SAP BW system already, or you will not be able to launch the query.

Regarding Portlet caching on Portal 8.1

I m using WLP 8.1 where i have tried by setting 'Render Cacheable' and 'Cache Expires'. But when i run portal,my jpf is reflected with latest data, but it should show cache data. Even i tried in portal administrator.

In order to diagnose your problem you will need to download and install the below
Install the WPT (Windows Performance Toolkit)

When you have, open an elevated command prompt and type the following
WPRUI.exe (which is the windows performance recorder) and check off the boxes for the following:
First level triage (if available), CPU usage, Disk IO.
If your problem is not CPU or HD then check off the relevant box/s as well (for example networking or registry) Please configure yours as per the below snip. This will reboot your system so make sure you save your
work
Click Start
Let it run for 60 secs or more and save the file (it will show you where it is being saved and what the file is called)
Zip the file and upload to us on Onedrive (or any file sharing service) and give us a link to it in your next post.

FQDN means fully qualified name
http://hostname :port/irj/portal ..your host name will become FQDN if it is name instead of ipaddress.
put hostname of portal as technical name.

Regarding WebEx implementation in portal

Hi friends,
When I try to use WebEx sharing service in collaboration, I am getting the following error.
"Service Types have not been configured. Please contact the system administrator"
But I logged in as an administrator.

the error message does not mean that you need to have an administration role to be able to use this feature. Instead it wants to tell you that configuration is missing. Regarding Enterprise Portal Role issue

Hi,
The system administrator has assgined a role called "k-role" to a user. The K-role has some 3 pages inside it. When the user view the portal with his id, he can see the role called "K-role" and the pages. But when he clicks a page to access the documents with in it, it says "ACCESS DENIED". There is no restriction kept at the document level. Restriction is only at the role level.
What could the error be? How can i resolve this issue? How can the user access the document?

Hi Divya,
the portal users assigned to super admin role (usually via group Administrators) do have full permissions on every document. You HAVE to add read permissions for group Everyone in order to make the documents accessible by every portal user.
1.      Open the Details dialog box for the item (for example, for the folder).
2.      Choose Settings ® Permissions.
3.      Enter one or more users, groups, or roles.
4.      Choose Add.
5.      Select one of the following permissions: Read, Write, Read/Write, Delete, Full Control

1.Portal Database holds the portal related data like iviews,worksets,pages, roles etc.

2. Emp No and Tel No are generally for the users, so it depends on how you configure your UME.

Concurrent access to portal web service

We have developed a Portal Web Service, which has Web methods that return array of Objects. The Web methods uses ArrayList as DataStructure. When we try to access the Web Service concurrently, we get incorrect data (unpredictable) for the same Web method. The outcome can be result of ArrayList not being Thread-Safe. Is there some other reason for the web method to behave in this manner? Is there some setting/property which can be set in the portalapp.xml, at the Application level or service level, to make Web application use different instances of ArrayList for seperate Web calls?

I think Portal Web Services use JAX-RPC API Which does not directly support ArrayList.Just do a check up on that.

How to change one iView to another in portal page by clicking the third one

Hi all!
I have created four iViews: two speedometers with web application designer and two iViews with visual composer. I added the speedometers and a visual composer iView #1 to a portal page (default view). The requirement is that by clicking the speedometer #2, the visual composer iView #2 would replace visual composer iView #1 on the portal page. If the user then would select the speedometer #1 again by clicking it, visual composer iView #2 would replace #1 again and so on.

I don't need to filter anything, just to change one iView to another in a portal view by clicking a third one.
I have thought of placing two VC iView to a same portal page area and defining one of the to be visible and another hidden (by clicking speedometers these properties would change), but I haven't found the way how that could be done in portal. Is there a way to define some OnClick-method to change visibility parameters or url-address of another iView?
One solution might be¨on the other hand to transfer any value to VC by clicking a speedometer and to change the visibility of the VC iViews according to that value (the speedometer #1 should in that case transfer other value to VC than speedometer #2). I don't know if that is possible with speedometers - you can't reference any characteristics or variables with it.
If you have an idea, what would be the best way to accomplish this requirement, I would be very glad to hear about it! We are in VC 7.0.

Hi,
In the portal, create a page and place the iView having the three input fields on top. Place the second iView below. Keep differing the second iView for every page. In this way you can make the iView with 3 input fields only in the desired pages. You can use EPCF to invoke / navigate to another iView.

Help needed in Portal Search

Hi,
I have built a portal site using HTML Portlets and JavaPDK portlets, now I want to perform search on the contents. I have studied about oracle text and ultra search but could not find any clue how they interact with my dynamic JavaPDK portlet's contents that are coming from my self defined Database Tables.
Further more when I put search box/ simple search portlet in my page and search for any content like 'portal' it shows me some data, but if I search my own keywords that I had defined in the page properties I coulnt find any result.
Please help me in this regards.

No, Portal search will only find content which is added through the Portal UI (Item wizards etc) or through the content management API wwsbr_api. Pending on whether Oracle Text is enabled, the search facility will be able to search within documents, URLs. This is done through a set of Oracle Text indexes :
- WWSBR_CORNER_CTX_INDX on WWPOB_PAGE$
- WWSBR_DOC_CTX_INDX on WWDOC_DOCUMENT$
- WWSBR_PERSP_CTX_INDX on WWV_PERSPECTIVES
- WWSBR_THING_CTX_INDX on WWV_THINGS
- WWSBR_TOPIC_CTX_INDX on WWV_TOPICS
- WWSBR_URL_CTX_INDX on WWSBR_URL$
Any content which is not added to these tables (e.g. a custom portlet which adds document to a custom table with a BLOB colum) will not be searchable through the standard search functionality.

SM Portal display issue while creating incident classification with child items

We need to create some incident classification with child items. After creating classification with child items, portal is not showing the classification properly and the page display not showing properly. i.e. showing a block with drop down instead of simple

The portal flattens those lists, so sadly this is normal behaviour. I would assume it sorts the list according to ordinal which means you may be able to atleast get a list in the correct order.
ex. Ordinal in paranthesis
1. Hardware (1)
1.1 Printers (3)
2. Software (2)
2.1 Windows (4)
I would expect this list to be flattened into
Hardware
Software
Printers
Windows
You see? In order to edit ordinal you would have to edit the list manually in XML. Tons of ressources on how to do that.

Shortdump while accessing Appraisal document in portal-Null obj ref.not pos

Hi all,
We are implementing Performance Management in Ehp4 with EP 7.1, flexible template   We have been facing an issue where in Portal while we are trying to click on Appraisal document either in ESS or MSS, it dos not open anything instead we are getting
short dump error in ST22. We have performed the portal and ESS setup as per the SAP recommended notes.
1272076 - Appraisal Nav
1408243 - OBN
1416756 - OBN Confi
1463821 - Portal confi
1458466 - Launchpad config
The short dump error analysis as follows.
Short text
    Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible.
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL', was not
   caught in
procedure "READ_ATTR_ALL_FOR_CASETYP" "(METHOD)", nor was it propagated by a
   RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
You attempted to use a 'NULL' object reference (points to 'nothing')
access a component (variable: "LO_CASE_CUST").
An object reference must point to an object (an instance of a class)
before it can be used to access components.
Either the reference was never set or it was set to 'NULL' using the
CLEAR statement.
Just wondering if any one of you came across this issue. I have put external break point at main appraisal component
HAP_MAIN_DOCUMENT and class CL_HAP_WD_DOCUMENT_UI. But it didn't go through. I think because this abap dynpro not being called due to url issue and thus dump says null pointer exception.
