REGARDING BOM ITEMS

Dear PP Experts,
Can anyone tell me, what is the use of 'INSERT' function in the BOM - EDIT menu.
When i used it the system inserting the many lines in the item screen. I want to insert the only one line below the line which i selected.

As per your answer after entering the item in the inserted line & enter, the item is going at the last line of the BOM not in the inserted line . The item number showing is correct.
Our client wants this item should come in the inserted line

Regarding BOM item return(KITs Return)

Can any one please help me:
Basically a BOM item (TPH77500--- Not Batch determined) hold 3 components TMD7710, TMD7711, TMD7712.( all the components are batch determined)
I have completed the Oto C for the above BOM item with a qty of 2. When I am trying to return 1 qty of the BOm item, It is populating its components with qty 1, butduring delivery it is saying the error log as below;
1. Document is Incomplete:You cannot Post Goods Movement for the material TPH7750
2. The batches are not defined for the delivery item TPH7750.
I have checked in the path edit---> Incompleteness Log, In that It is giving adescription:as per the status Group D8 in the Incompleteness Procedure L1 The Batches /valuation Type is not completely allocated.
but the BOM item is not a batch determined material where as the components are Batch determined.
Can any help me how I can rectify the above one so that I can check the KITs Return Process and the KIt's Component Return Process.

Hi BadariNath,
Assume the bom item is not maintained "batch management" in MM. Pls ensure "Batches /valuation Type" is not checked in Incompleteness Procedure.

Regarding BOM items overwrite

Hi All,
I have a requirement to overwrite the BOM components with the new components.The program should just overwrite the existing components.The program is not required to check the existing components it should just overwrite with the new structure to the existing BOM.
I am trying with the function module CSAP_BOM_ITEM_MAINTAIN but I am not succeeding on this.
Please suggest somebody how to do this?

Changing a Material BOM
In the standard system, you use the following function modules to change a material BOM:
CSAP_MAT_BOM_OPEN
CSAP_BOM_ITEM_MAINTAIN
CSAP_MAT_BOM_CLOSE
Open BOM: CSAP_MAT_BOM_OPEN
This function module is used to open a BOM for changes. The BOM is imported with the relevant valid-from date and is locked. Provided that no error occurs opening the BOM, the result returned by the module is the BOM header data, a table of BOM items, and a table of object dependencies.
INPUT:
Material (MATERIAL)
Plant (PLANT)
BOM usage (BOM_USAGE)
Valid-from date (VALID_FROM)
Change number (CHANGE_NO)
Revision level (REVISION_LEVEL)
Indicator FL_NO_CHANGE_DOC (do not write change documents)
OUTPUT:
BOM header data (O_STKO)
Table T_STPO (BOM items)
Table T_DEP_DATA (object dependencies basic data)
Table T_DEP_DESCR (object dependencies descriptions)
Table T_DEP_ORDER (object dependencies allocation)

Maintain BOM Items: CSAP_BOM_ITEM_MAINTAIN
Once you have opened a BOM successfully (without errors), you can use this function module to process the individual BOM items.
You can:
Create new items
The fields for item node and item counter must be initial when you create a new item.
Change items
From the table of BOM items, select the item you want to change, and transfer the changed data. The fields for item node and item counter must contain a value, because these are the fields used to uniquely identify an item in a BOM.
Delete items
From the table of BOM items, select the item you want to delete, and set the deletion indicator. The fields for item node and item counter must contain a value.
Maintain object dependencies
If you want to change or delete a local object dependency for a BOM item that has more than one dependency, enter the internal name of the dependency.
You cannot use the external name that you entered when you created the dependency to identify the data belonging to a local dependency.

Table T_DEP_DATA (object dependencies basic data)
Table T_DEP_DESCR (object dependencies descriptions)
Table T_DEP_ORDER (object dependencies allocation)
Table T_DEP_SOURCE (object dependencies source code)

You cannot change the item category of an existing item.
You can only change each item once in one session (between when you open and close the BOM).
If you see the error message "Item cannot be changed" in the log, the following reasons may apply:
The item is not valid on the valid-from date entered, because it becomes valid at a later date.
Object dependencies are allocated to the item, but the change number you used to open the BOM is not active for object dependencies.
The item has already been processed with another change number on the valid-from date entered.
Close BOM: CSAP_MAT_BOM_CLOSE
Once you have made your changes, use this function module to close the BOM. This saves the changes, unlocks the BOM, and writes the log.
The BOM is only saved if at least one item was changed successfully.
Please note the following points when changing BOMs:
There is no function module for changing header data.
The same restrictions apply as for creating a BOM.
You can only process one alternative or variant. If you do not enter an alternative when you call function module CSAP_MAT_BOM_OPEN, the function module opens alternative "01".

To stop delivery if one of the BOM items not available. -- how?

I have BOM items
Item Description
10         abc
20         def
30         xyz
Items 10 and 20 are available in a particular date but item 30 is not available. Then save the document.
user does not know items are available or not then they will go VL01N.
There are empty deliveries with out items also but they are saving delivery.
Now they want stop in delivery if there is no items available, the system should not save the document
This is my requirement.
Please let me if you have any queries.Kindly help in this regard by suggesting suitable ideas.

I have a requirement regarding BOM items.
Client requirement is such a way that they have so many BOM items.
Example:
10 monitor
20 CPU
30 key board
When every it deliver these like this they so so many BOM items they use so document types different item categories.
At that time 10and 20 are available 30 is not available. Just they save the document. They will order number another user.
Based on the order number another user will create Delivery it is main 30 item is not available Empties in deliveries (reason is its group delivery.)
But they are able to save the document now they want if in deliveries no item system should not allow save the document.
please through some light on what basis we can stop saving the delivery document

How to get the latest and valid BOM item entry from STPO

hi,
may i know with what condition we can get the latest and valid BOM item entry from STPO table?
i have STLNR and IDNRK as a input. But i realized that it would return multiple entry due to the combination of valid-from and valid till date.
can i use stlnr,idnrk and stpoz (with the latet counter) to get the latest and valid BOM entry?

Cost Estimate using Commercial Price 3 of BOM item

Dear Experts,
I am trying to create a cost estimate for certain materials using ABC costing variant. The objective is that the cost estimate should pick up Commercial price 3 from the material masters of the BOM item and then calculate cost estimate for the main product (The costing variant has been customized this way). However, for certain main products, the system is picking up the standard price of the BOM item and in some main products it it correctly picking up the Commercial price.
The BOM items used in the different products are different.
I am unable to understand this behaviour. If anyone has come across any such problem before, please help.

hi,
Check the Valuation variant and the strategy sequence whether you have selected the Commercial price 3 as the first priority and the Standard price as the next priority. If u dont want the standard price to be picked u remove this in the strategy sequence.
Further where the system is picking the standard price, possibly the commercial price 3 has not been defined in the material master. Possibly , the system is unable to find the commercial Price 3 and it is fetching the next Price as defined in the valuation variant which is the standard Price.

For Routings I could avoid duplicate Operation/Activity Numbers with transaction OP46 by setting T412-FLG_CHK = 'X' for Task List Check. Is there an aquivalent for BOMs?

New BOM Items ordered not retained on click ofUpdate in BOB (OOB) shop

Hello Experts,
We are using BOM material in our Business Process. Per Business requirement, the BOM sub-items are not required to be displayed on the Order Page of ISA webshop in OOB scenario.
Hence we have set the parameter "ui.fields.order.bomExplosion"to 'hidden' in XCM Setting.screenshot attached.
After making this change, we are experiencing the issue where we are not able to add any new BOM items to existing Orders, especially in the scenario where all blank line items are filled in with new BOM Products. When we click on Update, the new items are not retained and disappear.
Help is very much appriciated.

Thanks for your response.
We find out the problem this was the SAP product Bug in the class SalesDocumentParser method parseItems the iteration count is worng. Its not taking care about the Bom items. Instead of interating the loop through index SAP is iterating through values. So we implemented the solution for the same.

BOM items are not coming in Subcontracting PO

I have created a Finish good material and also have made BOM for that Finish material when I am trying to make a Subcontracting PO for that Finish material the BOM items are not coming in PO for that Finish material only for other material BOM items are coming properly.

Reg. Usage of finding Highest Material based on BOM items/Components

Dear Experts,
My requirement is that i need to explore the highest level of material based on BOM item / components as input criteria.
I am using FM 'CS_WHERE_USED_MAT' to get the header BOM based on BOM item. But i need to get the header BOM based on BOM item as input criteria and check whether the Material Type of Header BOM is 'FERT' (Finished goods). Else, i need to get the next highest level of BOM based on Header BOM got in the previous step and check whether Header BOM is 'FERT'. Else, i need to continue to explore the next highest level of BOM. Kindly let me know the logic i need to use or any FM / BAPI available provided by SAP. Kindly help me in the above regard.

Bom item data - Document assignment not getting saved in table STPO

Dear All,
              As per out customer requirement, they want to display assigned drawing documents of Bom items in CS11. But it is not reflecting in cs11 eventhough we have assigned documents in Bom item detail overview Document assignment tab page. Moreover this is not getting saved in table STPO.

Please understand my customers requirement,
                           Presently they are assigning drawing document of each mat in material master. And if they want to see the drawing of each component of bom through Bom maintenance then they double click on component in bom, goes to mat master then additional data then document data and then drawing. In this way they need to open minimim 5 windows, which they want to make minimum 2 windows.
          In bom they are having more than 300 components. This is not possible to define document as component with item category D of so many components. One more idea I given to them is to club all drawings in one document and define that document as component with item category D, but in this way they can't identify the individual drawing with part name.
          One more idea I given to them is to assign drawing document of individual component in item overview - Document assignment tab page from where they can open the drawing but it needs to open minimum 3 windows. So they are ready to assign drawing document in item overview - Document assignment tab page but they want, it should reflect in CS11 document column, from where they can easily open the drawing document.
          One more thing I observed that, assigned document to item overview - Document assignment tab page is not getting saved in Table STPO. I can't see this field content in STPO, which may be the reason that it is not reflecting in CS11.
         Is anything missing from Document management system?

Track Deleted BOM item in Process Order

Hi Guys,
I am facing one issue which is described as below.
when user is converting the Planned order into Process order at that time he has deleted 1 BOM item.
Now i he is saying that i have not deleted that item and after that he released and done the GI conf GR.
Now i want to track the change history but i am not able to find the changes done by him.
I have check so many blogs but i come to know that if he is deleting BOM item during creation we will not able to find.

To the best of my knowledge at the time of creation if some component has been deleted, you can not track. Because up to that time table entry has not happened. After saving you can see the component.
If you have some existing process order which is without item deletion, you can compare and check. As well Check the BOM in CS03 and check the BOM inside process order. You can easily find out the component.

Thank you for your reply. Actually i tried to down load BOM.   Here first i have to get header item Under 1 header item it may contain sum sub items.Again every item have dependency. I want to download in this passion.
Header item   ( one Header may contain number of items, at every item level it have some sub items )
1) item      every   item contains dependency
2) item      every   item contains dependency
3) item      every   item contains dependency
From header the fields i required is Material,Plant,Usage,Base quantity,Base measurement,valid from date2
From item Details Item no,Component material,Quantity,BOM ,Item category.
Please suggest me how to download these all and upload into ECC.
