Regarding Business content variable

hello
i have installed business content variable.i need to use the variable in the existing report. i need to trasport the variable ........? can any one help me what are the steps involved in transporting varabile.

Hi rad,
You can collect the variable in a transport request from RSA1 > Transport connection. In the Object types list, look for query elements and under query elements you will find Variables. Move this to the right hand side and assign the development class as reqd. This will prompt you for a transport request that you can later release and import into your target system.

Hi,
Business content is the place where u can find the SAP standard BW objects lyk infoproviders, infosoruces, updaterules, queries etc.,..
Based on the requiremnt we have to c int he business content whether that matches with teh business content objects.
( suppose a customer infocube requirment is tere then we have to take into the consideration what all the dimensions i mean views the users is expecting the reports and model it and simultaneously u can see for the BC infoprovders whether any matches r not if matchign install them and utilize them. It is always recomended to make a copy of the standard ones an use )
U can go to the rsa1->business content -> and spcify the collection paremeters and then can install the BW objects which match ur requirement.
As per DS's are concerned, when u make a connection to any source sytem and replicate the system in the BW end all teh DS's (which are active willbe usable )will be copied over.

I have loaded Ecc6 in my LAPTOP. I can able to see AWB page in RSA1, but when I clicked on BIContent, Iam able to see only technical content, I could not find Standard Business content object(cubes,DSO's,objects..etc).Please let me know how to install those object in my system.

you have to download BI content from service market place from sap. and load
the BI Content in data ware house workbench. then only you can able to install
(view) business content.

How to Install Business Content BEX Variables.

Hi Experts.
i want to install all the standard bex variables
(exits, formulas) available in business content.
when i go to the business content i see lot of variables
of 0CALDAY which one to install ?. and even after installation of all none of them seem to appear in the BEX query designer?.
Is there anything am missing?

Hi,
A little correction to Aby's reply.
You don't have to have something like Billing date mapped to 0CALDAY in transfer rules.
It's enough to have just 0CALDAY.
The other dates (if you need them), like billing date, receiving date etc. are created as A REFERENCE TO 0CALDAY.
It means that to all derivative dates you may apply variables created on 0CALDAY.
You may not see all variables installed from a business content. -- Some variables are created on a particular infoobject and you can see those variables in the left panel, beneath this infoobject.
There are also text and formula variable that might be independent from infoobjects. You can see them while creating a formulas in structures.

Regarding error occur in business content activation

when i am activating the business content its going to dump analysis the system is going to give me the error like " message_type_x" using st22 i found that error occured in abap program .It is an predefined program.Is there any solution for that one other wise i have raise this question to service.sap.com.i need emergency.

You have to underastand whether this is happening with all the objects , I mean are you getting this dump for any object you are trying to activate through bi content.
If this is happening with few objects then you have see whether the method of activation bi content is being performed in the correct method.
If thisis happening with all the objects then check all the basic settings and at the same time check authorisations.
Check if you have any thing in SU53 transactions.

Short Dump during Business Content Installation

Hi Gurus,
       I'm working on SAP BI 7.0. I'm getting a Short Dump Error stating " Program error: ASSIGN with length 0 in program "SAPLSNR3". " while I'm try to install the Business Content.
      I'm getting this error when I'm trying to install Business Content with Grouping Option " Data flow Before ", but I didn't face any problem when I started off with the Grouping Option " Only Necessary Objects ".
     I tried analysing this problem by going to ST22 transaction & during my analysis I found that in the said program " SAPLSNR3 ", there's LSNR3F01 include in which line number 178 is having a ASSIGN statement, where its trying to assign a computed value to some data variable. Now i understand that there's some problem with the value getting computed in the ASSIGN statement.
     I also tried finding some SAP Notes for the same problem, but to my misery I couldn't find anything appropriate. Could anyone of you who had faced similar problem help me out.
     For further assistance in making your replies much easier here in I'm adding the information about BI 7.0 system components.
           SAP ABAP:               Level 12
           SAP BASIS:               Level 12
           SAP BW:                   Level 14
           Business Content:       Level 5

Short dump in BIW 7.0 business content installation

Dear Friends,
I am trying to install business content in BIW 7.0 . In RSA1 ->BI Content --> Object Types > Query Elements> Grouping data flow before ---> Install.
Once I start this installation process it gives short dump.
The dump says
Short text
    Access via 'NULL' object reference not possible.
What happened?
    Error in the ABAP Application Program
    The current ABAP program "CL_RSD_IOBJ_VERS==============CP" had to be
     terminated because it has
    come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
Error analysis
    You attempted to use a 'NULL' object reference (points to 'nothing')
    access a component (variable: " ").
    An object reference must point to an object (an instance of a class)
    before it can be used to access components.
    Either the reference was never set or it was set to 'NULL' using the
    CLEAR statement.
Can anybody tell me why this dump occures. Am I missing any step in BI installation.

Is it possible to delete data selectively from Business content cubes

Dear Experts,
         Requesting you to help me out to know, is it possible to delete data selectively from Business content cubes.
When I'm trying to delete selectively from Business content cubes, the background job gets cancelled with ST22 logs stating
A RAISE statement in the program "SAPLRSDRD" raised the exception condition "X_MESSAGE".
Since the exception was not intercepted by a superior program, processing was terminated.
and i tried with few more Technical content cubes but the same thing happens.
Pls let me know how to selectively delete data from Business content cubes if it's possible?.

Follow below steps for selective deletion:
1.     Transaction code: Use the Transaction code DELETE_FACTS.
2.     Generate selective deletion program:
A report program will be generated of the given name, here .
3.     Selection screen:
Take the deletion program u201CZDEL_EPBGu201D to the transaction code SE38 to see/execute the program.
After executing it will take you to a selection screen:
As we need to carry out deletion selective on Calendar week, we need to get the screen field for the field Calendar week. For this, click on the Calendar week field and press F1.
Click on the technical information button (marked in red box above) you will get below screen:
     ABAP program to carry out the Calendar week calculation
Problem scenario: As stated earlier the requirement is to delete the data from the cube based on the calendar week. Thus a code must be developed such that the number of weeks should be taken as input and corresponding calendar week should be determined. This calendar week should be then passed to the deletion program in order to carry out the data deletion from the InfoCube.
     Transaction code: Use T-code SE38 in order to create a program.
Logic: Suppose we need to delete the data older than 100 weeks.
a.     Get the number of weeks and system date in variables and calculate the total number of days :
lv_week = 100.      *number of weeks
lv_dte = sy-datum.     *system date
v_totaldays = lv_week * 7.      *total days
b.     Get the corresponding calendar day from the total days. This is obtained by simply subtracting the total no. of days from the system date.
lv_calday = lv_dte - v_totaldays. *corresponding calday.
c.     Now in order to get the calendar week corresponding to the calculated calendar day we must call a function module 'DATE_TO_PERIOD_CONVERT'. This function module takes input as Calendar day and Fiscal year variant and returns the appropriate fiscal period.

d.     Now we have obtained the required calendar week in the v_week variable. This calendar week is the week till which we need to keep the data. And older data than this week will be deleted. This deletion will be done by the deletion program
Submitting the Data deletion program for ZEPBGC01 and key field
SUBMIT ZDEL_EPBG WITH C039 LT v_week.
          Here the calendar week value is submitted to the deletion program ZDEL_EPBG with the screen field of calendar week.

Business Content is a pre-configured set of information models based on consistent metadata in the SAP BW.
BI Content makes the supply of information available to those roles in an enterprise that require this information to complete their tasks.
BI Content consists of roles, workbooks, queries, InfoProviders, InfoObjects, InfoSources, transformation rules and extractors for SAP systems and any additional applications that have been selected.

0FISCPER wrong in business content virtual infocube 0FIGL_VC01

Dear all
I would be greatful to get some help on the following:
We use the standard SAP Business Content for SAP FI, which includes Infocube 0FIGL_C01 and Virtual Infocube 0FIGL_VC1. The data is stored physically in infocube 0FIGL_C01. The virtual infocube 0FIGL_VC1 however gets its data from a function module (RS_BCT_FIGL_DATA_GET_VC1 I believe, but I'm not sure), which reads the data from the mentioned physical infocube and appends some content.
In the source system, we recently changed from Fiscal Year Variant K2 to K4. In order to avoid issues in BW, I deleted all data and did a complete reload from the source system. All the historical data in all cubes, DSOs and PSAs is now on K4.
My issue is now the following: If I do a variable for 0FISCPER on a report on 0FIGL_C01, it shows me the masterdata as expected. If I do the same variable for 0FISCPER on a report on 0FIGL_VC1 (the virtual cube), it shows me 3 times period 000.2005, 2 times period 001.2005 etc. In fact, each period is shown two or three times.
I believe the function module from the business content is still reading some FiscYearPeriods for K2 as well. Does anyone know how I could fix this?

Hi,
After changing from K2 to K4 in Source System, you should have done Transfer Global Settings from RSA1 in BI system.
Check the Fiscal Year Variant Settings in SPRO in BI System. Only K4 should be checked here.

How do I install Business Content?

I'm wondering how to install Business content in our BI. After downloading the latest BC from the SAP server I got 2 files on my computer:
KIBIIIH.CAR (510MB) and KIBIIP9.SAR (40MB). I searched for any guide how to get those files into the portal but didn't find anything.
Do you know how I can install this Busines Content?

Taking too much time incollecting in business content activation

Hi all,
I am collecting business content object for activation. I have selected 0fiAA_cha object,while cllecting in the activation but it is taking too much time and then it asks for source
system authorisation and then throws error maximum run time exceded. i have selected data flow before there.
What can be the reason for it.

You should also always try and have the latest BI content patch installed but I don't think this is the problem. It seems that there
are alot of objects to collect. Under 'grouping' you can select the option 'only necessary objects', please check if you can
use this option to install the objects that you need from content.

SRM Business Content

Hi All,
I would like to know the infosource of 0SR_C01 procurement overview(aggregated) cube. while on help.sap it shows 0SR_MC01 as a multiprovider for 0SR_C01. But could not find the infosource for the same.
I would also like to know if anyone has the list of content infocubes and their infosources for SRM. Please share it with me.

DataSources
New DataSources have been created for NW 2004s BI Content Add-On 2 and SRM 5.0. These are described here, along with their extraction logic.
The following graphic shows the data flow from the DataSources to the DataStore objects
Structure
Each DataSource has an extraction structure and a data extractor. Generally, this is an RFC-capable function module.
There are two types of extraction: Specific extraction and generic extraction:
Specific extraction is strongly oriented towards the data model of the BI System and the necessary extract structure. It executes DataSource-specific processing steps.
The logic contained within the generic extraction is implemented centrally and can therefore be reused by the specific extraction modules. The generic extraction deals with access to the SRM database and is similar for each DataSource.

Extraction logic in detail
Data extraction involves the following six function modules:
InitLoad
InitLoad is called as soon as an initial upload is started in the BI System. In other words, it is executed when data is loaded into the BI System for the first time. The module can restrict the data extraction according to filter criteria that were defined in BI during extraction (for example, extract the data for a particular timeframe). InitLoad packages the data before it is transferred to the BI System.
DeltaLoad
DeltaLoad is called when a document is modified in the SRM System. The module writes data that has accumulated since the initial loading to a delta queue.
Data Collector
The Collector reads the required data from the database in the source system. For performance reasons, the data is then buffered in system-internal tables. The tables have the same structure as in the database. This saves time and effort, because data conversion is kept to a minimum.
Data Consolidator
The Consolidator groups data that belongs together from a business point of view. The consolidated data is stored in internal tables and is prepared for further processing.
Data Normalizer
The Denormalizer prepares the source data for the BI System. It calculates key figures that are required for the report but are not contained on the database and converts data types in the source system to data types of the BI System. Depending on the BI data model, the system now decides how each row is filled with data.
Data Mapper
During mapping of the data, the system defines which fields of the denormalized data structure are assigned to the fields of the extract structure. In this way, flat and one-dimensional lines are generated from the data.
