Regarding BW to XI to File...

Hi all,
Need your suggestions,
First question is <b>Can we create Proxies and send data to XI if BW version is 3.1 </b> or is there any other way
Actually the scenario was from 1) BW to XI to File...
BW vesrion 3.1 should pick the data from R/3 and send it to SAP XI to File..
My client is suggesting that scenario to be done in this way...
2) Sender JDBC (PLSQL is written in Oracle so that every 2 hours it is triggered)
to XI ( here with in the mapping an UDF is used which calls web service using SOAP adapter which invokes BW RFC and gets back the response to Web service i.e to UDF ) to FILE..
I am suggesting to go with 1) BW to XI to File by scheduling in BW ..
but client is insisting the other one... which one should i go with Please reply with your valuable suggestions...

Query regarding the conversion of DME file in MT940 format.

Hello Experts,
I have a query regarding the generation of MT940 file after generating the payment file from other DME tree.
After completion of payment run, my payment file is generated in the DME format which is according to the DME tree.
I want to convert the DME file (which is generated via F110) from existing format to the standard MT940 format.
Is there any standard program which converts the DME file to MT940. If so, please inform me as early.
I have tried to upload the DME file in FF.5 transaction, but it is not allowing me to convert the file in MT940 structure.
Or please inform the steps how i can convert the file .

you can schedule the file adapter according to your requirement as follows:
In the Communication Channel Monitoring Locate the link Availability Time Planning, In Availability Time Planning, choose the Availability time as daily and say create, give the time details, select the communication channel in your case file adapter , goto the Communication Channels tab and filter and add the respective channel, save it

Regarding reading data from a file in the application server.

Hello Everyone,
My question is:
The file in the application server consists of data with header, detail and trail out of which the detail contains the main information. The detail again contains the data in the form of a continuous string and again some spaces corresponding to a single record. I need to split the data in the internal table in such a way so that the first few characters get into field-1 of the target internal table. Again I need to consider the spaces for accessing the data for filling up in field-2. How do I decide on the 'Split' statement and specially when the whole string has to be taken care of as contatining data in a single string format without space and again some data after some spaces corresponding to a single record.
Your help is very much needed. Thanks to all the experts in advance.

Regarding the Logical Path and file name

Hi all ,
I am using LSMW for creating the BOM of a material .
I am getting problem at step 7 , saying the logical path is pointing to physical directory .
Then i did some R & D . I created the logical path and logical file name using transaction FILE . Then i got the physical path using FM file_get_name.
But when i give those logical path and logical file names , still i am getting prob.... at step 7 of lsmw.
Pls let me know . I did my best unti l now ....

YES YOU NEED SAP NetWeaver Developer studio to develop Adapter Modules,or you can use any othe IDEs like Eclipse ....many documents available in sdn ,how to develop AM,refer below link it explaines clearly

Query regarding Import Dimensions using Flat File in EPMA

Hi All,
I am trying to import dimensions and Dimension properties using a flat text file to the master dimension library. If I try to include any properties (HFM) in the !Members Section, I am getting an error "Input Line ... does not have the expected format of 1 columns". But if I remove the properties and just build the members and hierarchies without any properties definition, I am able to succeed. Can someone guide me on what I might be missing with regards to member properties? Below is the format of the input text file.

Regarding data integrity for XI file/jdbc adapter

I have several questions about XI data integrity for file/jdbc adapter.
Question 1 is: if the destinate file or DB is not reachable or other technical problems occur, do I have to send the message again or not?
Usually we design an bpm to comfirm whether the database or file is completed according to a response message. But it's a little complicated.
Question 2:when I use jdbc send adapter and configure select and update SQL clauses. Does XI only update the records which it select automatically? or Select and Update don;t have any relationship?

If the DB is not reachable then message will be found in the inbound side. you can found them in the adapter. Goto RWB -> Message monitoring -> select status System error and search . there you will find your messages. select you message and resend them

XI never does updation automatically, Update is done only based on the SQL update query which you have written in the sender channel.
SELECT statement is used just to pick the values from the table and based upon the query which you want to UPDATE in SQL . data is updated

Input is coming like a flat file.
can file adapter can read the above structure? may be it doesn't because, <l1> item is in 4th level of message. so adapter can't read more than 3rd levels.. is it right? Please give u r inputs.

i have around 20mp3 files which do not take 1 gb of space..but the memory status of my mac book air shows around 1 gb of audio files??i need whelp regarding this...and also information regarding the backup of files in iTunes..

Sound files can be found in a lot of places on the computer not just the iTunes folder. The operating system has sounds and so do many programs those would all be listed as sound files.

Regarding : LSMW return code 7 file could not be uploaded

Hi all i have a problem doing lsmw when i go for the 3 rd option after creating a structure in lsmw the moment i press copy fields from the menu i enter no. of fileds and length it asks for the txt file i attach it and when after attaching i press enter it says file could not be uploaded return code 7.
What is this error and as to why it is happening ?? and when i asked my friend to do it in his system who is somewhere else he says it is running on my system i am working currently on ECC 6 version of sap.
Please tell me as why is this happening on my system..

where is the file located? please check if the file is being accessed by anyone else or if the file is open while your trying to attach it.
