Regarding call packages?

Hey,
If I took out the BT 40GB Broadband and Evening and Weekend Calls package for £18 a month + line rental, with a contract length of 18 months, am I unable to now upgrade to the Anytime Talk package? I tried and it said I need to call their (less than) helpful call centres.. (I am 3-4 months into the contract).
Sorry if this is the wrong forum!
Thanks.

You should be able to, it'll cost you £4.90 extra for the unlimited anytime calling plan.
Have you tried it through your mybt online account?

  • Online Security - Changing Call Packages

    Hello BT Forum,
    Just a quick question.
It seemed pretty easy for me to gain access to details of my Mother's call package; I was after was the expiry date of the current contract.  All it needed was her telephone number, postcode and a tick in the box.
So what is to stop kindly me or some nefarious person from changing my Mother's call package without her knowledge?
I find it perturbing that access to these details was so easy.

    Thank you for your suggestion.
I did use the live chat facility but the BT agent was unable to assist - they do not have access to the full account details.  I also tried their telephone call centre but their operator did not have access either, he suggested that I contact their 'new/retention customer' division.  There I found out the details of the contract and immediately thereafter the BT Agent tried to persuade me to 'upgrade' the service and that it would be 'stupid' to cancel the current contract.
It seems to me a rather bizarre process to go through to get what is in effect a 'date,'  which could easily be written on the monthly bill that is sent.  Again I was somewhat amazed at the ease with which I was able to obtain the information but then I do know more details; and perhaps all I was after was an end date.
However, after a little searching I found that rolling contracts are no longer offered by BT (web link noted below).  I was advised that the terms of any existing rolling contract is maintained on a 28 day rolling contract.  That this contract can be cancelled at any time without penalty.  This is the information I need as I am preparing my Mother to be connected to broadband.
So I have the information I need to make a decision about broadband packages.
However, what does not help at this stage is the bombardment of BT advertising literature promoting their Sports Channel with unlimited broadband.  I am sure that such a service will appeal to many but to my seventy year old Mother, such a package offers little benefit or incentive.

    Best Regards,

My cut and paste comment was in relation to a generic reply that in my opinion does not attempt to address my question.
Can you please include the link to that post.
But in reply then in that case the BT terms and conditions contradict each other.
And how do you distinguish between Unlimited Anytime and an Unlimited Anytime add-on?  Nowhere in any material for Unlimited Anytime can I find the clause that is in BT Texts.
    For instance http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumer/terms/special-offer.html

  • TestStand - Call Package VIs for Distribusion.vi is not executable

I am trying to assemble my VIs for Run-Time distribution using the TestStand tool. How ever on selecting the Run-Time distribution option, the following error is displayed
"An error occurred in the 'Package VIs' step of the 'Package VIs' sequence in 'VI Packager.seq'.
LabVIEW : VI is not executable.
An error occurred accessing the LabVIEW ActiveX automation server. Error Code: -18001"
On oppening the vi (TestStand - Call Package VIs for Distribusion.vi)it was seen to have brken arrows. The problem appears to be located in the sub vi, TestStand - Build dist for TestStand.vi which is password protected. Could this be a problem with my ActiveX connection(TestStand is using the LabView standard prototype Ada
pter with the LabView Development environment serving as the ActiveX server. The sequence I am trying to package runs successfully under these condisions)?

    Hi,
One of the things you need to do is to ensure all your vi's are at the same version of labview. All TestStand assoicated llb's and Vi's are at version 5.1.1 when you first install it.
Therefore, if you have updated your labview, you will need to mass compile the TestStands folders.
Also, check the Updates for TestStand, http://digital.ni.com/softlib.nsf/954feaeea92d90918625674b00658b83/e047ebba4b45a98786256949007bc2a7?OpenDocument this may or may not affect depending on what TestStand and LabVIEW versions you are using.

  • Strange download size of on calling packaged stored procedure in VB6

    Hi,
I tried to use VB6 to call oracle stored procedure with ref cursor as output parameter under a package in 10g database (10.1.03). Oracle client uses windows 9.2 / 10.1.02 (Oracle OLEDB Provider) . I found that when the package size increases(> 1000 lines codes), the data size transfer from database to VB client also increases. I try to trap the binary data flow between VB6 and database when calling packaged stored procedure. I found that VB6(or oracle client ??) will first download package spec then execute the requested stored procedure. This may explain the cause of increasing size.
However, this large download size for calling only one of the procedure will make my application run slowly when my application uses the package much. How can I solve this problem ? Does this relate to oracle client(p.s. this problem disappear when using Microsoft OLEDB Provider)?
    Thanks
    Steven

You can use a wrapper to get compiled code and if it's 10g you can do even more by putting it in a library.
OLEDB from VB6 still using Oracle 'Client' as you call Oracle NET.

  • Why cant i view my call package+ add ons ?

However, the only reason I was considering adding Sky Sports 1 & 2 was for the live F1 coverage lost from the BBC next year.
Just checked the Sky website and not the F1 races will be on a new dedicated channel available to Sky Sports 1&2 or Sky HD subscribers.
I can't see the channel being made available to BTV Sky Sports subscribers, but will need to look closer.
Don't want to give anything to the evil Murdoch empire and hate F1 for selling out.
In that case there is no point in looking to add Sky Sports 1 & 2, because most of what you will pay for them goes back to the Evil Murdoch Empire

  • How do I sign up for a temporary international calling package for my vacation to the BVI?

How do I sign up for a temporary international calling package for a vacation in the BVI?

Of course it could be MUCH cheaper to just purchase a local SIM card to use in your phone when you get there. The rates will be less than what you will be paying to Verizon, especially if you plan on using much data or making many calls.
One drawback of this would be if anyone wanted to get in touch with you, you would have to give them the local number for the SIM card you purchase.

No, you entered into a legal contract so if you cancel, then you will be charged the cancellation fee, its as simple as that.
You can normally upgrade your broadband without it affecting your calls package.
    See http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/36397/c/346,402,5685
It looks to me to be £25 a month including evening and weekend call, plus line rental.
You may find that Sky cost does not include line rental, which is usually hidden in the small print.

  • Anytime Calling Package

We have the anytime calling package and have had it for years to ensure during the day we can make a call without worrying about the cost.
Last year BT put the price of this up to £7 a month to cover half-price calling to mobiles.
Now this is fine for people who want to call mobiles from their landlines and don't have a mobile, but for me and probably others we have mobile phones that include inclusive minutes to any network which includes mobiles, so have no need to use this feature from BT that we have been forced to pay to keep the rest of the anytime calling package.
Now I have noticed other providers who have anytime calling packages also do the half-price calls to mobiles, but they keep this as a seperate package so the initial ACP is just for calls to landlines and they can add the mobile part on if required.
So I think it would be good for BT to keep these seperate as currently paying the £2 per month enforced by BT for a feature I don't actually use.

I was on the old anytime call package when it was, I think, £5.48 and did not include the discount for calls to mobiles. I had a policy of never ever calling mobiles from my landline so I was really miffed when I was told at re-contract time that the anytime calling package had changed and that the cost would be £7. I asked for my MAC code via the e-mail route and BINGO I received a call reducing the cost of the new anytime call package to £5 and reducing my broadband cost.
