Regarding change in stock account
Hi,
At the time of Production receipt, we will debit the FG Inventory and credit the Change in Stock A/C and at the time of delivering the Finished goods to the Customer we will debit to Change in Stock and Credit to FG Inventory A/C ( Simply reverse the entry).
Here I want to know what is Change in stock account and when is the Cost of goods sold A/C effected.

Material movement should happen at standard price only. Kindly check what are you telling production order standard price must be price that is maintained in the material master only.
How did you determine the system is picking the moving average price in some cases at which period you are analysing.
Costing run is not being done you have mentioned then the standard price is same in every period.

Upon MIRO

In Sub-Contracting you need to do Transfer posting first using MB1B. Here you will issue your goods to vendor, but no accounting document gets generated
Then your stock balance using t-code MMBE. It will show that stock with vendor the subcontacted material
At the time of Good Receipt from Subcontractor. following accounting entery gets generted
Purchased servies ac---Dr
To GR/IR ac
Counsumption of RM--Dr
To Inventory RM ac
Inventory Ac---Dr
To GR/IR ac..

What are the main differences between "Change in Stock Account" and "Price Difference Account" ?

Change in stock is triggered when goods are delivered to stock (Fg location) thru movement type 101 - GR for an order.
During PGI - entry posted is
COGS - Dr
FG Inventory - Cr

this is P& L account and this account is - credit ie it goes in income side.
and its correct its not expense its income at credit entries goes in it and its P& L account.
or u can explane is other words like u are geting the inventory of finish goods is increased so its income to company and its a credit entry so it should go to right side of P&L that is income side, so its income account.

I have a material with a moving average price.
The material was taken in stock in initial entry. in period 10.
Then the material was consumed in period 11.
Further the material was procured . The posting period in GR was 11 & the period at the time of entry was 12.
Now the MIRO was done for the material . At the time of MIRO the material price was revised .
The MIRO entry date was in period 12 & the posting date was in period 11.
The entries for GR are :

System asking UMB key noit defined , we do not want to put in loss/gain from revaluation.
In one PO, we doing miro and at this time all matreial consumed in material master, there is no quantity and value.
In other PO, we doing miro for 32 quantity and at this time , 22 quantity present in material master and we getting this error .
But i do not understand , same scenario i checked in quality , it working.

Regarding change in the account number for an existing service number.

Here the scenario is as it goes:
A customer with an account number(20xxx) has a service number(4206xxxxxxx) mapped to it.
In the month of September. Till 28/09, the account number is mapped to this service number. For the next two days. It has been moved to another account number(22xxx)
Now in the Billing Summary/Account Summary when I select the month of September, it should show me both the account numbers one contains some data and some contains the other. But it is showing only the old account number in the drop down.

what I have done was: I removed this part " and ad.ACCOUNT_NUM like '%' || ? || '%'" and it was giving me all the account numbers in that month. But it was user specific and it may affect some other users.Can you post some example data and expected output in a way we could use it?

they changed a stock account in OBYC (same valuation class).
This means that some of the stock receipts happened on account X, while the goods issues now are being posted to account Y.
Account Y now has a negative balance.
Is there some trick (like for the changed reconciliation accounts) that transfers the balance from X to Y?

It is not recomended to change the GL in OBYC for a existing valuation, If transactions already posted to related material.
Best way is Create new valuation class with desired GL assignment. post (Transfer) the material stock to an intrim account or dummy material code, close all open PO / PR for that material. and than chnage the valuation class in material master.
After change of valuation class, re-post the Material stock from intrim account/ dummy material to its original material.
But , After change in valuation class you cannot post any transaction to that material in prior date.
Hope this will clear your doubt.

we have an account (114410) which is "National compenent". It is a stock account and we need to include some information in the text fields to some cleared postings.
FB02 did not work.

If u want to change in Master then do it in FS00. if u want to do it only in that document then you can do it in FB02 only. Make sure that Prerequisite for document change is given.

Changes in stock value of the material even after closing period
The client closes the accounts every month end. Say they close the books of accounts for the month of Jan07 on 31st Jan 2007. After closing the account they are running MC.9 to know the stock value of different plants for the previous month. i.e. for the month of Jan07. But every day when the client runs the MC.9 they found some differences in the stock price & quantity.
For better understanding, consider they close the period on 31st Jan. When they run the MC.9 on 2nd Feb it shows the value say 100$ and qty of 100. When we run the same report on 4th Feb the value got changed to say 98$ and qty remain same. Again when we run on 6th Feb the value is changed again to say 102$ and stock is 100.
We checked the MB51 with posting date & entered date. We could not find any back posting.
What could be the reason for the variation in the stock price & qty ? Any pointers will be highly appricated.Hi Venkat,
Your previous posting talked about variation in stock value and now you are saying that there are changes in stock qty also. So the better option would be to check those material which has variation and compare them with other standard reports to get a solution. Export the list of material to an excel sheet and compare them with that of the other reports. This would help you to find the materials which has changes and you can narrow down to the root cause. Once you get the material then u can go by posting date and find the movements.

If we purchase without any account assignment mean the material goes to stock account base on their material type whereas If we use E the material account goes to consumption account,how to divert the account from going consumption to Stock account. in the trsaction key BSX.
But know you are saying that you are using a account assignment category E.
Which says cleary that it has to a Sales order comsuption account.
KNow the question is wheter the you are able to See the Stock in MB52 under Special stock indicator E
or after GRN it is going to the consumption directly.

G/L Account Determination - Variance - Expense and Stock Account
Hi All,
Under G/L Account Determination -> Purchasing tab -> General tab the last account is called "Expense and Stock Account", in some versions the same is called "Variance Account - Expense and Stock Account". In the help file and on the SAP Portal it is explained to be used as:
"Define a variance G/L account for clearing journal entries created by A/P credit memos that were based on A/P invoices or created by goods return that were based on goods receipt POs, in which the freight charges or the price were changed."
I'm trying to test this but recreating the scenarios described above the account will not be used. Can anyone help me what am I missing?

I understand but my problem is when I'm testing these scenarios, in my test system the account is not used at all. For example I have an AP Invoice and when I turn it to an AP Credit Memo I change the price of the item. I would expect a posting to this account as it is specified in the help file, but in my case it doesn't happen. Do you know why?

Change G/L account for free of charge po good receipt .
We create free of charge po for sample parts.Because its price is 0 and will decrease moving average price.
( Our price control is moving average price .)
Our user hope system can support as below :
1.No ap -- ok .
2.Change G/L account for GR fi document
3.Do not impect moving average price
4.stock qty increase after GR
I try to copy movement type 101 to another .And receive po using this movement type , but it does not work.
Is anyone tell me how to config it?

Even MAP changes also, total stock value will be the same,
posting freegoods won't effect the stock value.
What exactly the necessity of restricting the moving average price change against freegoods posting.
Through standard SAP I dont think it is possible, if you really ned this then go for custom development.

Delivery cost should upload on stock account

My requirement is that delivery cost which i am putting at the time of raising PO should add to stock account. Suppose my PO value is of 100 rs
Total PO Value -- 100
Assesable value for excise -- 100 (It is required 100 not inclusive of labour cost)
Excise 16%-- 16.00
Educess on 2% -- 0.32
Value inclusive of ED and edu cess -- 116.32
Labour cost -- 10.00
Total value of PO -- 126.32
If i go like this then FI enteries at the time of doing MIGO are
Stock account Dr 100
Fright account Dr 10
GR/IR Cr 110.00
whereas frieght value is not uploading to stock account.
How can i cope with this situtation

Look at M/08 for the pricing procedure that your PO is picking up. Then, for the freight condition that you are worried about, look at the account key. Then go to OBYC and verify to which account it is assigned. If your FI wants that freight amount to be posted to stock account, change the account in OBYC for this key to stock account. It will post to stock account. From the details you provided it appears that you are using moving average price. So, you will have freight loaded to your material once you do the above config.
