Regarding client moving

Hi Gurus,
I have a question..
I have ECC5.0,oracle 9i and HP-UX system..
I want only one client (masterdata, transactional data)to be moved to system which is on windows, oracle 9i and ECC5.0
Please suggest us how to proceed with this...
Thanks in advance..
Regards
Dinesh.

Hi.
There are two possibilities:
1. you can do an remote client copy; It's ok if the spource client is not too big -> network traffic, runtime;
2. you can do a client export in the source system and an import on the destination.
Take care that DDIC mus be identically (you can tell the system that you willnot copy some tables with report RSCCEXPT). Additionally have a look at service.sap.com with the keywordes mentioned above.
best regards,
Martin

    HI  All ,
I am new to wireless . I am using  WS-SVC-WISM-1-K9  wism module and using 5 Access points . When my clients are moving from one access point to another we are getting packet drops .
Kindly anyone suggest me what all configuration i need to verify on the controller  for Proper client roaming so that i can resolve my issues..
Please let me know in case of any explanations requiered .

For radius authenticated SSIDs, you need WPA2-aes or wpa1-tkip-CCKM. It depends on what the client supports.
For pre-shared key, any WPA should be decent enough for roaming speed.
If you're on WEP ... no comment.
If you covered the above point, check if it's not a coverage problem. If the 2 APs coverage zone are not overlapping there will be a hole where you don't have signal and logically will have packet drops.

    Aswin,
The client session is your primary TopLink interface abstracting over the shared cache and connection pooling. Depending if you are using internal or external connection pooling and the transaction state you are in TopLink may have a JDBC connection allocated to your client session. A client session does equate to a single dedicated JDBC connection for its entire lifecycle.
Assuming you are using an external connection pool (Application server's data source) your client session will have a connection from this data source when required to perform a read and during the commit of its UnitOfWork.

  • Need toughts on approach. Client moving to Maconomy/Business Objects

    Post Author: klokhammer
    CA Forum: General Feedback
Hi.On of our important clients are most likely to migrate between economy systems within the next 9 months. Case as follows:
We have developed a budgeting/forecast and reporting system for a certain market/company. The solution is based on a Microsoft SQL 2000 database/server with Microsoft Access as application interface. The solution is integrated and gets actual figures from the economy system Aspect on a IBM iSeries (AS400) system. The "edge" of the system lies in sophisticated budgeting/forecast routines, the report module is rather poor....
The client is now most likely to migrate to Maconomy as the new economy system, and Maconomy AnalytiX as the new BI system (which I understand uses Business Objects.)
We are new to Business Objects and need general recommendations on what level we should try to integrate on. Should we "ditch" all the development done in Access and build a new solutions through Business Objects, keeping all the business logics, but not the interface?
Should we try to integrate on a database level, keeping the interface in Access (for budgeting/forecast), and exporting data into Business Objects to allow reporting through Maconomy AnalytiX?
As you most likely have understood, my knowledge about Business Objects are pretty poor. But please try to give me your thoughts on how we should move along, and what kind of "standard" considerations we must have in mind.
    Kind regardsklokhammer

    CA Forum: General Feedback
    klokhammer,
I checked out Macanomy's web site and searched for references to Business Objects, and sure enough it is mentioned here and there.  What it sounds like is that Macanomy has developed some "Macanomy Standard Reports" using BusObjects, so if you want these nifty Macanomy reports available to you, you buy the Macanomy product, which is bundled w/ BusObjects, and voila you have the reports.  It sounds like a winning strategy.  On the other hand, in order to get this type of capability, an organization would have to hire a staff to purchase and install Business Objects, then the staff would have to understand the financial database that the client has established and populated, and then the staff would have to set about building the reports that are needed.  With Macanomy, it seems that you get the whole kit and kaboodle in one swoop, which is good for an organization providing that it is on the same wave-length as Macanomy.  In regards to your question about what to do with your existing infrastructure, this is a call only you and your client can make.  In IT, it's always about the data and how it is used.  Peeling back the onion a bit, the process works like this:  in order for the Macanomy reports to work, the report must be properly built and it must read from a "universe", which is a BusObjects term for defining the interface between the user and the database (the meta data process).  In order for the universe to exist, it must be built by a "Universe Designer".   The Universe Designer must have an intracate knowledge of how every table in the database will be used to support the reports that the end-user wants to have (either pre-canned (standard) or ad hoc capability).  The database is still a critical piece, and reviewing the Macanomy offering I have a funny feeling that they come in with their own database structure and universe, which makes their process a much quicker install.  The downside, as it appears to me, is how you would migrate your existing data into the Macanomy structure (this goes back to the two parties being on the same wavelength).  I think in your case it's going to be a matter of ditching your database structure in MS SQL 2000 and Access, and adopting the Macanomy structure, but this may be more painful to do than any one at this point realizes.  It sounds like you need to continue arming yourself with knowledge before making any final decisions.  Good luck, and perhaps keep all of us posted on your experiences.

  • Queary regarding Client Copy

    Hi Experts,
I have a scenario where in my Source Systems runs on HP-UX,Oracle10G and ECC 6.0 and my Target Systems runs on Windows 2003,Oracle 10G and ECC 6.0 except OS all the SAP and DB versions and Patches are same.
Could you please tell me can i able to do remote client copy( i am sure with client export/import we can do)? does any body done the same before.
    Please suggest me on this
    Thanks,
    Laxman

As far as i remember Remote Client Copies between different OS is possible... essentially a client copy is a HUGE transport and as far as the SAP versions are the same it should be ok. (please correct me if I'm wrong)

    Hi Deepak,
Retrieving the WSDL is generally seen as a "necessary evil" (it actuallyinvolves
establishing a network connection with a HTTP server) that one is willingto take
for truly dynamic Web Service composition :-)
But honestly, "we ain't there yet"! (LOL) Most of the time, you will findthat the
"service interface" for a Web Service does not change that often, so thereis really
little value in retrieving the WSDL with every invocation. What we reallyneed is
standard mechanism for notifying "interested parties" when a "serviceinterface"
changes, right? That, or a dedicated SOAP Fault code indicating thiscondition. Anyway,
in the "real world" you would want to:
    1. Keep a local copy of all the WSDL(s) for the Web Services you consume,or
    >
    2. Use your Web Services toolkit to create SOAP messages without WSDL.This usually
involves a little more code, but once you do this a couple times you'llsee that
you only need a couple of pieces of information from the WSDL to do it!I've posted
several "heavily commented" client examples showing how to do this in WLS6.1. I'll
do it one more time just for you :-)

    Hi Deepak,
Actually, you can have both static and dynamic Java clients that don'tuse
    WSDL :-)
A "static" Java client uses the dynamic proxy mechanism, which wasintroduces in
version 1.3.0 of the J2ME spec. If you aren't familiar with how thisworks, check
    out this link:
    http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/DataTypes/proxy/
    >>>
    >>>
Anyway, based on an "unofficial" performance test I conducted when WLS6.1
    first
came out, a "static" Java client is around 460% faster than a "dynamic"Java client.
I tested using the message example that ships with WLS 6.1, and theaverage service
invocation time with the "static" Java client was 20 milliseconds. Itwas
    280 milliseconds
with the "dynamic" Java client :-) Which one should you use? Both havebenefits,
so it's sort of hard to really choose :-) If you want "raw speed", I
    guess
    you would
go with the "static". If you don't want to (or can't) have"service-specific" classes
in your Java client, then you'll want to go the "dynamic" route. Theinterface used
to create the J2ME dynamic proxy is in the client.jar, so you don't
    have
    to put extraneous
    classes on the client machine.
    Hope this information was helpful,

  • Question Regarding Client Proxy configuration.

    Hi All,
I am configuring Client Proxy for my scenarios in which I have to fetch data from ECC server for my XI server. I am following the steps as provided in the following blog:
How do you activate ABAP Proxies?
Now when I have created the RFCs i.e LCRSAPRFC and SAPSLDAPI in ECC System I have a doubt that where should I maintain the program ID of these RFCs i.e whether in J2ee engine of XI or ECC??
Also if possible plz send me the other visual admin configurations for these RFC and exactly where these settings should be done and what values to be provided.

  • Regarding client data

    hello everyone,
plz. tell me how we can copy the data from one client to other.

    Hi,
If you are looking at moving configuration (SPRO) entries from one client to another, you can save the configuration table entries under a transport request and then import the transport entries into the target client by running the transaction SCC1 in the target client.
For copying transactional data, you can contact the BASIS team.

  • Regarding client copy and authorizations

    hi,
i had installed SAP BW 3.5 on my system.it is a fresh installation.now the probelm is that iam unable to open the administration workbench screen which is the most important of all the BW  screens available.when i type the relevant tcode , it is saying "screen cannot be opened on 000 client".so i created one more client 070 (by copying client). and when i log on using 070 client , it is saying you are not authorized to use that screen.
any suggestions?had i missed something in the installation?
    regards,
    ravi

    Hi Ravi,
The procedure to delete is as below.
    1.     Log on to the client to be deleted.
    2.     Execute SCC5.
    3.     Check the delete entry from T000.
    4.     Schedule in the ‘background’.
Since you said you have deleted already , may be you have not checked the delete entry fron table T000.
In this case Go to table T000 and delete the entries.
After that create a client as below.
A local client copy copies between clients within the same R/3 System.
Both a local and remote client copy must be initiated from the target client using the following steps:
    1.     To create an entry for the target client in the client maintenance table, choose SCC4
    2.     Log on to the target client as SAP* with the initial password PASS.
    3.     Perform the client copy using  SCCL.
    4.     Select the data to be copied using a profile.
    5.     Assign the source client for Customizing data, application data, and user master records.
    6.     Begin the client copy.
    7.     As copying is a lengthy process, use background processing.
    8.     To ensure data consistency, you may not logon to the target client during a client copy.
    9.     Lock the users in source client.

  • Help regarding Client agent

    hi all,
I have a scenario where in I need to call two secured web services using my BPEL process. I want to associate my client agent to securely invoke the two services. How do I change the setting in the wsif-wsm-config.xml (for two services) so that they can be securely invoked. Is that possible two associate two secured webservices in wsif-wsm-config.xml??
Can any one tell me with these what do I do regarding this??
    thanks in advance,
    Manoj Nair

    Thanks Chintan,
I have resolved it.. I hope you will not mind if I pose many questions to you that keep on tickling me and I hope you will be in a better position to reply for these and I have seen your blogs too..
Kindly help me out with these....
    The question is....
I want to construct a Client Agent and Server Agent architecture.
I will tell you the scenario...
I have my client agent in my system1 and I do have a server agent in my system 2 (both systems have there own SOA suite installed running on them)
    In my System2 I have created two webservices(BPELProcesses) and I have associated a Server agent to both of them. The thing is like I don't want to register my services to my gateway. So it is evident that I will not be getting the SID that owsm provides. So here lies the question;
    The question is ;
I want to create two separate policies for my two different services say "Policy for BPEL1" and "Policy for BPEL2"
so that I can enforce different policies for different services according to my requirement.
Had I registered my services to the gateway, I would have got the unique SIDs and I would have created policies in the Server Agent and I would have mapped those policies to SID1 and SID2 respectively. But as I told you I don't want to configure my web services to the gateway.
So could you please tell me how do I create two separate policies for my two web services apart from the default policiy that Server agent has???
    The next question is....
In my System1,,,, Another process say BPEL3 invokes these two services in system2 . So it is for sure that the client agent will intercept in between when my BPEL3 sends in a request for BPEL1 and BPEL2..
    The question araises here....
How do I create two separate policies in my Client Agent as well apart from that default policy that Client agent provides??
It will be really be helpful to me if you could help me out in coming up with this...
I hope you would kindly revert to me with the needful...
    Thanks & regards,

Having participated in these boards for quite some time, I have to say that the iPhone 5 and it's newer cousins offer a Great product, from a creative and practical point of view.  My iPhone 5, including the various releases of iOS software has exhibited high quality and reliability.  Have I ever had a problem, issue or frustrating operational question ...Yes.  Have these problems, issues and questions been mitigated ...Yes.  I would say your list needs to add a little more emphases to the opportunity to exchange a non-working device rather than just return it.  People would otherwise be missing out on a very satisfying ownership experience.

    Suneel,
Could you clarify your question further ? are you curious as to what type of SAP solutions would be used in a university environment ?
To talk about SRM (Supplier Relationship Management), this would enable the university to manage their suppliers efficiently. see below SAP's description of the SRM solution.
    SAP Supplier Relationship Management:
    Features & Functions
The SAP Supplier Relationship Management (SAP SRM) application is built on the technology platform of SAP NetWeaver, enabling multiple levels of suppliers, partners, and manufacturers to work together on core sourcing and procurement processes. SAP SRM provides a fully integrated source-to-pay process. Functionality includes:
Sourcing – Expand the role of e-procurement to the next level of added value in the complete purchasing cycle by automating sourcing functions. SAP SRM can help you tap into new value through better business planning, more effective category management, improved supplier qualification, and more efficient supplier negotiation.
Procurement – Execute the operational activities of procurement, including requisitioning, ordering, and receiving. With SAP SRM, you can integrate catalog-based requisitioning with your traditional procure-to-pay process and gain the benefits of e-procurement without losing your back-end enterprise resource planning processes.
Supplier enablement – Link suppliers to your purchasing processes through the supplier portal. With SAP SRM, you can choose the optimal interaction channel for numerous business processes and documents and collaborate more effectively with suppliers in supplier-facing processes.
Master data management – Manage catalog data as master data in a repository that is deeply integrated with the core application processes.
    Hope this helps.

  • Issues with Clients moving from Autonomous to LWAPP

I have a fairly large wireless rollout of access points at my hospital's main campus and then I have 41 remote sites that have approximately 3 to 10 access points at each location.
My problem is this, I just converted one site from 9 autonomous access point over to LWAPP. The site has a 10 meg metro Ethernet connection so I know its not the link back to me. We have 26 Motion Tablets with Atheros wireless clients at that location that utilize a Citrix application called Logician. We have been having some issues with the Motion tablets holding the Citrix connection, but once we converted this site, those clients have really been having issues.
There is a high density of access points so coverage is not an issue, but I didn't know if anyone else out there may have a similar scenario and could lend some advise as to why the LWAPP causes so many issues.
    Thanks in advance.

Hi. LWAPP itself should not cause service to be worse; because of the dynamic nature of its settings, it should actually improve connectivity.
Do these wireless clients have access to any services (e.g. internet) that do not require use of Citrix? If so, how is the performance there? If you're getting consistent, reasonably quick internet access, but your Citrix session keeps failing; it may not be a WLAN issue per se.
I have done several implementations of Citrix over WLAN for hospitals. Most of the time if there are connection interruptions, it boils down to one of two problems.
1.) Interference: Hospitals are very hostile environments for RF. Various building materials, large machinery, and irregular shapes in the floorplan make it difficult for RF to travel consistently.
2.) Citrix settings: Citrix is a highly configurable application. There are session timeout settings which can be tweaked which may make the system more tolerant to momentary lapses in connectivity.
My suggestion would be to see if the issue is limited to Citrix traffic only; and if it is, look at how Citrix is configured. If you're finding sub-par performance with all wireless traffic, then maybe it's an interference issue that keeps knocking you off the WLAN. If that is the case, I would suggest a professional wireless consultant should come in and decide on the best methods for giving you more consistent service.
Hope this helps! If so, please rate.
