Regarding Connection to ECC 6.0

Hi All,
This is regarding connection to ECC 6.0
I have created a system in
System Admin ---> System Landscape --> My_Folder
For the system I have given the foll. parameters for Connector
Application Host
SAP Client
SAP System Id
SAP System Number
Server Port
Do I need to give something else in order to make the connection with ECC 6.0
Also how do I test the connection.
Please help. It's urgent.
Regards
Nikhil Bansal

Hi
When I am testing for the Connection then I get the foll. Results
SAP Web AS Connection
  Test Details:
The test consists of the following steps:
1. Check the validity of the system ID in the system object
2. Check whether the system can be retrieved
3. Check whether a SAP system is defined in the system object
4. Validate the following parameters: WAS protocol; WAS host name
5. Check HTTP/S connectivity to the defined backend application
  Results
1. The system ID is valid
2. Retrieval of the system was successful
3. The system object represents an SAP system
4. The following parameters are valid: WAS Protocol (http) WAS Host Name (xyz14.xxx.com:8000)
5. HTTP/S connection failed
Seems the WAS Host Name is valid.
What does  HTTP/S connection failed mean.

  • Can we connect 2 ECC to a single PI system.

    hi ,
can we connect 2 ECC to a single PI system. here we would be using proxies in the 2 ECC.
Is it possible to enable the SProxy for both systems.
    EG: ECC1< -> PI (A)<-.>APO
           ECC2<-->PI (A)<-.>APO

Edited by: praveen kalwa on Jul 29, 2010 5:34 PM

Yes. you can connect 2 ECCs to a single PI system.
You have to create two entries for Proxy in sm59.
Please refer the below document for the proxy configuration.
(Put 'Proxy configuration in SAP XI' in Google Search & You will get a document from saptechnical.)
If everything goes fine, from both the ECC systems you can see the PI interfaces(Transaction : SPROXY) and implement them.

  • Connect two ECC systems with one SAP CRM 7.0

    Hi Gurus!
I have to do a customizing for connect two ECC 6.0 and one SAP CRM 7.0, only I need the organizational structure from both systems and they need update when the structure from CRM has changes. The business partner goes to ECCs system by PI interfaces.
Both organization models are different, so I have to maintain and update depending the changes in the business.
But I don't know if this is possible, I don't know if we can do this by Middleware, ALE or PI.
Can you please, give your oppinion about this topic?
    Best regards,

    Hi Eugenia,
Please see note 1084315 which descriibes the the multiple backend scenario.
    This should be relevant here.

  • Connecting multiple ECC Clients on same ECC system to BW system(s)

    Hello.
We are considering connecting our Dev BW system to multiple clients on the same Dev ECC system. This connection would be for a limited time.  We are wondering what the effect would be on the ECC system after we 'disconnect' our BW system from one of the clients.
Another thing we are considering is to create a seperate BW sandbox system and to connect that to a client on our Dev ECC system.  The Dev ECC system will, at the same time, have a connection to a client on our existing Dev BW system. For example, having DEVBWcnlt100 -> DEVECCclnt100 and SNDBWclnt200 -> DEVECCclnt200 where DEVECC is a system and DEVBW and SNDBW are systems of their own. Our Sandbox BW system will have a limited life and at some point be taken down and no longer be a valid source system for the DEVECC system. We are concerned about what the impact would be to the DEV ECC system's client independent data once the Sandbox BW system is disconnected and taken down permenantly. Is 'residual' client independent data something we need to be concerned about? Is having two different BW systems connected to ECC clients on the same ECC systems a 'bad practice'? Any and all comments are welcome as we have not yet acted on our ideas yet.
Thanks very much for whatever comments you might provide,
    Geoff.

We are considering connecting our Dev BW system to multiple clients on the same Dev ECC system. This connection would be for a limited time. We are wondering what the effect would be on the ECC system after we 'disconnect' our BW system from one of the clients.
No impact on the BW system. The only thing that you will have to take care of is that any process chains which fetch data from this DEV ECC system should not be put on periodic cycle because after disconnecting the ECC system, these would start failing.
We are concerned about what the impact would be to the DEV ECC system's client independent data once the Sandbox BW system is disconnected and taken down permenantly. Is 'residual' client independent data something we need to be concerned about?
Again no impact on ECC system. As for the client connected earlier to sandbox system, just clear all the queues in RSA7, LBWQ
Is having two different BW systems connected to ECC clients on the same ECC systems a 'bad practice'?
No its not at all a bad practice

  • CALL_FUNCTION_OPEN_ERROR in CRM while trying to connect to ECC system

    Hi All,
We are having issues while connecting to ECC system from CRM at specific point of time.
It occurred only once yesterday . Since it is a production system, we need to investigate the cause of the issue.
Upon checking the logs, I can see dumps in ST22 stating CALL_FUNCTION_OPEN_ERROR while trying to connect to ECC.
This issue has been faced by multiple users at the same time.
Both CRM and ECC are in the same server . There are no errors in ECC system ,
    The error description says
    Error opening RFC connection
Error text........... "Group USER not found"
    Description.......... "LgIGroupX"
The response time is fine for the system and during the time when the error occurred.
Both the systems are in kernel 720 patch level 416.
There are no errors in dev_rd and dev_ms as well.
The errors in trace file also give information that ECC system cannot be reached.
However our ECC system was available , up and running and there were no issues at that time with ECC.
I have attached the dump, kernel and patch level details , work process trace files and the response times.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Sowmya.

  • Crystal connectivity with ECC 6.0

    Hello,
I have Crystal 2011 and I am trying to connect to ECC 6.0 to adapt a few SAP Best Practices. I am able to access Infosets from ECC 6.0 but I am not able to access any table. I have tries searching. Also, when trying to adapt SAP Best Practices Crystal Reports, I am unable to update the Crystal Reports that use tables from ECC 6.0. I get the below error:
Some Tables Could not be replaced, as no match was found in the new data source. Please specify the table required for any unmodified tables.
I am able to connect to ECC 6.0 and access Infosets. Only when I try to access a table, I see this issue.
    Any help is appreciated!!
    Thanks!
    Aris

    Hi,
did you install all SAP drivers for Crystal Reports 2011 ?
the ABAP Transports have been imported to the SAP system ?
What is the message you receive when you try to create a new report in Crystal Reports designer using tables ?

  • Crystal Report connecting Multple ECC systems

    Hi,
I am working on crystal where I compare the data between to two diffrent databases(ECC tables). I am using SAP Table, function mudule option to create connection.
I have built a main report against ECC system A and imported a sub report built on ECC system B. Now I see that connection in my main report is overwrting the connection in the sub report. If I change the connection in the subreport with set data source location it changes the connection of both sub report and main report. After I deploy this report to infoview, in cmc I see only one database connection.
Is this a bug or can we have only one connection to ECC system per one crystal report even if it has sub reports?
    Thanks

Yes that happens automatically, I just checked the same logic with universes built against oracle data source, I could see two coonections in the CMC. Its like its there is this issue when I am connecting to sap tables directly

  • Data Buffer using xMII connected to ECC through XI

    Hi all,
Is there anyway to use xMII data buffer using XI to connect to ECC?
    Thanks

    Hi,
The failed messages are stored temporarily in the NetWeaver database and used by the JMS queue which retries sending the message until that is delivered by executing the RFC. So even if the MII server is restarted the messages to be retried are present in the database with pending status which will be retried by the JMS queue.
    Thanks,
    Dipankar

  • How to connect one ECC 6.0  system to two BW ssytems.

    Hello all,
I am trying to connect one ECC 6.0 systems to two different BW systems. The BW systems have two different logic names.
I tried to find an answer in the threads , but could not able to find the steps. they were talking about the notes which fixes for the deltas. but I am not even able to connect the systems at all to implement that notes.
Please give me the steps how to connect to an another BW2 system. The connection between ECC and BW1 ia working fine.
    Thanks,

    The error message is .
Source system cannot use any of the proposed connection names
    Message no. RSAR362
    Diagnosis
Every connection to a source system is named using a unique two-digit identifier. Source system LOGTST100 does not accept any of the proposed values.
The last proposed value was BB.
    System Response
Source system has not been connected.
    Procedure
If you want to recreate the source system from BI information, then you can only use a single value, namely BB, because the connection already has this name in BI.
Delete the existing connections in the source system or contact a BI consultant.

    Hi Antoine,
    Thanks for response.
Are you able to connect to this ECC system using either:
    - a SAP tool like SAP logon
    Yes, I can.
    - a BI tool like information design tool (if you have access to it)
Yes, I can access. I can also connect UNX universe which is built on ECC with Webi as well. It's only in Lumira which is not working.
-Can you try from SAP Lumira changing the language used?
Yes, I tried to change different language (US and UK both) but not working.

This error log is generated from Lumira only.

  • MII 12.1.8 not connected to ECC 6

    Hi,
I have already configured successfully another instance of MII/4.6C (only idoc listener) and now I'm trying to link an instance of MII 12.1.8 (NW SP5) with an ECC 6.
I cannot even read BAPI list from SAP JCO Interface action inside a MII Transaction
I have configured the JCO Connector from System Connection Editor of MII and the credential alias usign a SAP_ALL user (to avoid rights issues).

Did I skipp soemthing I should do NetWaever side? My understanding ti was I could link MII to ECC (to call BAPI) configuring connector inside MII only (even if, probably, calls are flowing through NetWeaver layer). I feel it can be something related to NW side (maybe the message server) but I really don't know what to touch.
I didn't yet installed licenses (but three months still didn't pass)...can be this the reason of my issue?
I also tried to configure IDOC listener inside NetWeaver, trying to register it to SAP Gateway, but also this link attempt failed...
it is something like the two world aren't connected, even if the server is pinging to SAP AS. No firewalls...
    any idea?

but the link you posted is interesting...if I well understood, every time there is H the current "system" is sending to the the first H it has the next Hs (removing the first H and checking a sort of internal firewall to grant connection). Mainly, connection path is built system by system, step by step...
S and W are optional and to be specified if we need a service different from default and a password
    Doing crazy attempt:
If I'm running my MII transaction test from my laptop, do I have to set up my first "connection step" to the host which is running MII instance? I mean something like:
    /H/<MII Server IP>/S/50000/H/<SAPROUTER IP>/H/<ECC IP>
This way I noticed that in the Java AS, under ICM/Connections READ REQUESTS messages are created.
But log is saying request is too big.

  • APO 3.1 connected to ECC 6.0

Our client is going ahead with upgrade from R3 4.5 to ECC 6.0. However the new ECC 6.0 is aimed to be connected to APO 3.1
Is it possible to connect APO 3.1 to ECC 6.0 through CIF?
What are the technical limitations to do the same?
    Regards

    HI Manotosh
its possible to link APO 3.1 to ECC 6.0. The release of APO 3.1 is available in ECC 6.0 for technical integration.
Well as far as technical limitations are concerned i dont think functionally there would be much for your existing APO planning ... the only thing to watch would be the new features in CIF (if they are compatible with APO 3.1 ..... CIF exits .... Badi)  .... etc
