Regarding Controlling in PS

Hi ,
I really want to know,in the project profile we have Controlling tab.Why do we have a separate Controlling tab if we have Controlling area in the Organization tab.

Hi,
Organization tab consists of default values for organization assignment of the project. This means when you create a Project using a particular profile, the organisation data will get defaulted/copied from this tab. You need not re-enter this data in application mode for project objects like wbs.
Controlling tab consists of various profiles, keys which will govern/control the execution of project throught its life like cost planning will be done based on planning profile. Budgeting, Investment, Settlement have appropriate profiles where you define parameters related to that.

Issue : Regarding Control Record

Greetings Guru's,
We are going to be running our first payroll of the year in SAP at the end of this month. However the employees have been hired as of 01/03/2010. The payroll control record is in period 3 (01/03/2010 - 31/03/2010) and it is in correction mode.
What do I do with this record when we want to run the payroll for period 04/2010 ? Do I just delete the 03/2010 record (as there has been no payroll run at all) and then recreate it for 04/2010 with the earliest retro date set as 03/2010 ??
Any help will be appreciated...

If you want to run payroll for 01 - Apr - 2010 to 31 - Apr - 2010 the exit payroll for march 2010 if there is no employee left for payroll run and then Release payroll for April 2010. it will help you.
After this if any retro will perform for March 2010 and you don't want this then set Arely Per. Retro date as 01 04 2010 in Infotype 0003 for the employee.

Regarding Control Step

HI friends,
Can we send some user friendly messages using control step (throw alert ) mechanism.
E.g I have to process 1000 records then in the sending step of BPM if i have to insert some text message to Moni then can i use control step so that after every message is sent i get some message at the moni .
Is there any other better way to do it.

If you have mapping in your scenario, it'd be simpler if you just inputed some trace into AbstractTrace object (using .addInfo(String message) method).

Regarding Control for Returns for Excisable Stock post 6 months

If I am selling an excisable stock to my customer today and if the customer returns this stock after 6-7 months.Is there any way which I can control the same in the system.Please let me know if there any user exits to control the same.

Which control you require ?? Do you want system not to accept this returns ?? Please elaborate your requirement clearly.
If you want system to prevent creating return sale order for the sales made which was not less than 7 months, you have to try with user exit User exits in the program MV45AFZZ - USEREXIT_READ_DOCUMENT where you have to call VBRK table and check the field FKDAT

Changed the control file location 1 of the control file out of 3 to archive log files location.

Hi Ricky,
It is recommended that place the control files on different physical disks.
The reading/writing of the control files doesn't cause very much performance.
For example, if you already split the online redologs, archivelogs and datafiles in different physical disks, you can distribute the control files like this:
control_files='/oracle/SID/origlogA/cntrl/cntrlSID.dbf','/oracle/SID/sapdata1/cntrl/cntrlSID.dbf','/oracle/SID/saparch/cntrl/cntrlSID.dbf'
It's just a example, you can use it as a reference.
If you want some document, goto service.sap.com/instguides and find the guide for your products, in section 'Preparation and planning', you can find the information about controlfiles distribution.

The statements ON CHANGE OF and ENDON, which are forbidden in classes, define a control structure that can contain a statement block statement_block. After ON CHANGE OF, any number of data objects dobj1, dobj2... of any data type can be added, linked by OR.
The first time a statement ON CHANGE OF is executed, the statement block is executed if at least one of the specified data objects is not initial. The statement block is executed for each additional execution of the same statement ON CHANGE OF, if the content of one of the specified data objects has been changed since the last time the statement ON CHANGE OF was executed.

Control recipe destination is the process control system or the line operator to whom the process instructions are transferred to be carried out. When processing the order, you can generate one control recipe with the process instructions for all phases, for each control recipe of a process order.
You then assign the control recipe destination to the phases of the master recipe, by maintaining the process control data in the process instruction overview. This section describes the assignment of a control recipe destination to a phase.

I'm working on BI scenario Controlling Analysis.
Does it work the same way with each other?
A: customizing extractor and replicate datasources of the SAP ERP source system (RSA1, modeling--source systems).
B: RSA1--DataSources, choose SAP R/3 --> AC ---> AC-IO and replicate metadata.
Another question:
create InfoPackage in RSA1modelingInfoSource, choose 0ACCOUNT and create infopackage, there is a message:
There are no hierarchies for this InfoSource in source system
what does it mean?

If you see 0Cost Element and 0GL Account will have the hierarchies. Cost Element and GL Account carries its hierarchies from R/3 FICO Modules. However, 0Account is a combination of Cost Elements and GL Accounts. Hence, it does not have hierarchies.

I have a set of values for a month for a particular material.

    20080802       15
    20080830       30.
I used GFW_PRES_SHOW
function module to plot values.
The control limit for the material is 30. I want to encorporate this value also in the graph and show the deviation.

Which infocube should I use for Controlling and Inventory?

I have several questions regarding Controlling and Supply chain management infocubes:
1. We need cost reports for the material ledger in order to meet the Brazilian compliance. I have found two infocubes:
CO-PC: Cost Object Controlling (0PC_C01)
CO-PC: Actual Costing / Material Ledger Costs (0COPC_C02)
What Infocube will help me to create a query that will meet our requirements? Which one is better?
2. We need a cost Center summary report, Expenses analysis, by product, cost center, business unit, region, plant, etc. and Expenses period comparison report. Which infocube will provide me that information for those reports, the CO-OM-CCA: Statistical Key Figures (0CCA_C03) or CO-OM-CCA: Costs and Allocations (0CCA_C11)?
3. What infocube will be needed to generate an inventory report (raw material, semi and finished goods)? Is it the Material Stocks/Movements (as of 3.0B) 0IC_C03?
Can I get an inventory report from the Purchasing data (0PUR_C01) infocube?

You cann't get the inventory report from the purchasing data(purchasing data always talks about the vendor supplying inventory,it never talks about the production inventory)

Control multiple updates and queries within one transaction in JPA

Hi,
I have a question regarding control multiple updates and queries within one transaction. We are using EclipseLink 2.3.1. With below code, will I be able to:
- have all insert, update, select queries committed in one transaction;
- queryGetBalance will return the latest OrgBalance after update;
- if one fails, everything rolls back.

Yes, the operation will be in a single transaction, assuming you are using a JTA managed SessionBean and the code is part of a SessionBean method.
