Regarding copy of photoshop for new machine?

I bought, downloaded and installed copy of Photoshop CS at the end 2012 on a
MacBook Pro, which I have used without problems.  However, that machine is
now being retired and replaced with a new MacBook Pro.  Can I move the software
to the new machine and update the license, or is it possible for me to reinstall
a new copy from Adobe?  Please let me know what to do.
Thank you.

Hi William,
Kindly check the System requirements | Photoshop
As per EULA, you can install and activate the product on 2 machines however, can't use both of them at the same time.
Before installing it on a new machine, make sure your deactivate it from old machine.

My computer that had Adobe Photoshop CS6 on it was hit by lightening and cannot be repaired. I want to get a copy of Photoshop for my new computer. I have an open case, but I cannot get Adobe to respond to it. I have sent the serial# and a copy of the license. Every time I try the chat function to get help, I get dropped with the message "chat is no longer available." I WANT MY PHOTOSHOP!

This is a user forum, not a channel to address Adobe. As your fellow users and volunteers, we'll be happy to help you if we can.
You can download the CS6 trial version just like anybody else.
Once you download it, you can install it, input your serial number, register it and apply all necessary updates.
An alternative, if you know how to access your Adobe account, under My Products you'll find your Photoshop CS6 registration, next to which you should find a link to download CS6 if you originally bought it as a download

  • Reloaded Photoshop CS5 (New Machine) and now it won't open, geta message "Could not open scratch file because disk is not available", so pS won't go any farther.

reloaded Photoshop CS5 (New Machine) and now it won't open, get a message "Could not open scratch file because disk is not available", so pS won't go any farther.

If prefs are the same as Settings on a MAC, OK, it would have been more
clear to me if you had said Settings since I didn't see anything related to
prefs. On a PC, I know what you mean, On a MAC, wasn't sure.

  • Regarding Merant ODBC  Driver for Client Machine.

    Dear All,
We have installed Oracle BI Apps.
    Environment:
Machine 1 : OBIEE , DAC Server, Informatica Server.
Machine 2: DAC client(by copying DAC folder from Machine 1), Informatica Client.
I have copied the DAC folder from Machine 1 and paste it to Machine 2 and then configure the bat file.
Now when i am creating ODBC connect in Client machine, we dont have Merant ODBC driver in that, and it is available in Server machine...
So my query is how to get the Merant ODBC driver in Client Machine ?

    Hi Damon,
    Thanks for your reply......
Damon few weeks before you have told me that we can download the ERP from e-delivery/oracle .com.
I went through the site and found there are so many applications of Peoplesoft.
So we are planning to download this"http://edelivery.oracle.com/EPD/Download/get_form?egroup_aru_number=8888395 " application from this link" PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Resources Management System and Campus Solutions 9.0 (CD)"
So, i will request you please have a look to the application and confirm can we use this application for Oracle BI apps and will this application have dummy data so that we can see Pre-Built Dashboards and Reports.
If its not valid ERP then please provide us the link as well as the ERP name so that we can work on the same.

  • Can I use a real copy of Photoshop for as long as I am paying for the Creative Cloud?

Hello, I am on Windows 8 and need a working copy of Photoshop but an outright purchase was just too expensive for me.  So I subscribed to the cloud in hopes that I could just pay monthly for the software.  But when I download Photoshop CC I see that it is still asking me for a serial number.  So my question is, is the cloud monthly fee enabling me to use the software ongoing?  Or do I still need to purchase something else at some point?

Ask for serial number http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1234635 has a FAQ link
Cloud programs do not use serial numbers... you log in to your paid Cloud account to download & install & activate... you MAY need to log out of the Cloud and restart your computer and log back in to the Cloud for things to work

  • REregistering photoshop on new machine

I recently bought a new computer and want to sell my old one. I do not want to buy CS6 again, and want to "unregister" it from my previous machine and reregister it on my new computer. Is there a way to do this without having to purchase anything?

    >Now it's 20 activations > call for 5 more.
I think that's total activations that bob was quoting FA. i've never heard anything saying they changed the reset policy. that's pretty much standard procedure with hacktivation schemes since MS introduced it with XP.
I could be wrong though. anyway, i was just telling the original poster don't be surprised if the activation goes through on line and you
    don't have to call.

  • Use TM Back for New Machine

I've replaced a PowerBook with a MacBook. I'd like to continue my Time Machine backups to the same sparseimage file that the old computer used. I found advice on correcting a TM problem with a new logic board, but they refer to files that don't exist on my Time Machine volume.
My Time Machine "Data" volume has on it three (one for each Mac) files with names like <Computer name><12digit_hexvalue>.sparseimage . There are also three 16-byte files with names like .<12digit_hexvalue> . I suppose I could try renaming the sparseimage file to the new computer's name and MAC address, but those other sets of advice suggest that there is more to it than that.
Can anyone give me the details of what I need to do? Thanks.

    William Boyd, Jr. wrote:
That's too bad. I only have 150 GB left on my Time Machine volume. Starting a new backup for the MacBook would consume 1/3rd of that immediately. Does that also imply that I'd never be able to retrieve anything from the old computer's Time Machine backup unless I used the old computer to do it?
No. They're still available to you, just a bit differently (since they're for a different Mac). See item 17 of the Frequently Asked Questions post at the top of this forum.
I tried an "xattr" command for changing the partition "UUID" on a Time Machine file from some advice I found on the Web (modified for my situation), but the result was "[Errno 1] Operation not permitted". This may be due to the Time Machine volume being mounted to give me "custom access": "(unknown): Read & Write; everyone: No Access".
V.K. is correct. You cannot make TM back-up your new Mac as a continuation of the existing series for the old Mac.

  • Problem downloading my copy of Photoshop to new computer.

I recently purchased a new computer and I am trying to download Elements 10 (purchased July 25, 2012 (license #removed) on to the new computer. I can't see how to do that. I keep getting a download for Elements 12 which I would have to purchase. Is my license for  Photoshop not valid on the new computer?

Please don't DO that! You posted your serial number on the open internet for the world to see and steal. NEVER post a serial number on an open forum, ever.
First, try going to the main page of adobe.com>My Adobe and see if there is a download link in there.
If you mean you've been trying to use the pro design tools download, if you follow the instructions EXACTLY, even when they don't seem to make sense, it will work.

  • Purchase Adobe Photoshop for home machine

I would like to purchase Adobe Photoshop CS2 or updated version. I am a teacher at a public school, and understand there may be available an educational discount. I also believe that since we have a license for our school, I should be able to download it to my home computer for school use. Please advise.
    Thank you.
    Sincerely,
    Cassandra O'Brien

    Hi Cassandra,
The Adobe educational license you can use  like a regular purchase, the only qualifier is you have to be a student, staff or teacher at an approved institution. And you can not resell or transfer the license:
    http://www.adobe.com/sea/special/education/students/studentteacheredition/faq.html
The school volume license probably has more restrictions:  be installed on a school owned machine, and used only for school related projects...  at least that is how ours is set up. The person in charge of that at your school should be able to tell you.

  • How do I copy a backup to new machine?

I have a backup of my iTunes, from my old PC.  Now I want to either copy or restore the backup to my new Mac.  I tried using the restore backup on iTunes on my Mac.  But it doesn't give me the option to point to the proper location of the back.  So that leaves me with the notion that I have to copy the back to the Mac.  However, where it the backup directory for iTunes on the Mac?  Will the iTunes see the backup if I place it in the correct directory?
    Thanks for your help.
    -Phil-

I have used the Disk Utility to verify the contents of the backup drive so I don't think I have any corrupt files.  The drive just takes a minute or so to spin up to speed.  If I turn it off and then back on, it beeps at me for a few seconds and then starts it's slow process of trying to spin.  I think it's a power problem not a data problem.  I have my fingers crossed that it holds on until Tuesday PM when the new drive arrives.  I'm thinking that my two options are to duplicate the bad drive or partition the new drive and put the old backups on one partition and start afresh on the second partition.  Any input?
And thanks to both of you for the valuable information so far!

  • Best Photoshop for new MAC.

I am purchasing new Mac Book.  What is the best and most comprehensive version of photoshop that I can purchase, one that is permanent and does not rely on the Cloud or a subscription?

Photoshop CS6 is your only non-Cloud option.

  • Sell or Keep Macbook Pro now for $$ for new machine? ? ? 2.2 vs. new penryn

Just wondering what to do and how much is a fair price, especially installed with some good software.
    It's a two fold question.
*a) How much I can get, or even bother.*
*b) How soon before new macbook pros (penryn .45 nano's 3.0 GHZ?)*
Also, I don't do this, but have read eSata firmtek cards can run samples alone or in raid just as fast as a internal 7200 HD.
What would you do - and what do you expect the new Macbook Pros to introduce at (speed- cost?).
    Thanks

  • How does FCE upgrade work for new machines

I currently have a iMac G4 that I use FCE 2 on. I want to upgrade to FCE 3.5 HD which I see no problem with doing. I am also thinking about upgrading my hardware to a new Intel based iMac someday. Will I be able to use the upgrade FCE 3.5 software and the serial numbers from my FCE 2 to install on the newer hardware?
I guess I don't see why not but thought I whould ask before making the purchase.
    Thanks

    Yes to all of that.

  • I have just purchased a MB Air and want iTunes to be the new machine to backup etc my iPhone after the sudden death of my PC. How do I tell them to do this? Thanks

I have just purchased a MB Air to replace my dead PC and want it to be the new backup point for my iphone. How do I tell Itunes that I want the MB to be the one and not the dead PC? Thanks

That's not how it works. Authorising is for music purchased from iTunes, not for music you've imported from CDsor elsewhere. Music purchased form other suppliers would also not be subject to this authorising procedure.
Do you still have the old computer? If so, you need to copy the iTunes Library from that to the new computer. For example, in Windows XP, I would copy the My Music folder (which contains the iTunes Library, my Amazon MP3 purchases and album artwork) and put that onto an external drive. Then move the drive to the new computer and copy the copied folder onto the new machine thereby replacing the new machine's My Music folder. Then tell iTunes to look at the imported Library.
Obviously, you need to take into account that you have Windows 7 (where I assume the folder names may be different), any other places on you old machine where songs are located and so on.
