  • Error Message: Need to purge Cache in Adobe Bridge CC (on PC)

I tried purging using Adobe Bridge by going to Edit/Preferences/Cache then purging, but it becomes non responsive.  The error message said the problem files were at Users/(my user name)/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/BridgeCC/Cache.   There are 4 files in there that are taking up 124 GB!  Can I simply delete these files or will it corrupt my regular files?  I tried doing as some other forums suggested and hold the ALT key down when opening Bridge before purging, but no luck.

Yes, you can delete the cache files manually,  Just be advised that Bridge will become very, very slow until it finishes rebuilding its caches.  Depending on your files, that can take a few minutes or several hours.
A good way of doing it is at night, so you can do it before going to bed and let Bridge rebuild caches overnight.
If you can, save the cache files before deleting them to an external drive, so that you'll have them as backup if something goes wrong.

I have problem with adobe bridge cs6. Every time I open it Bridge tells me to Purge Cache. I have CS6 on two computers and it works fine on one of them. I have tried to reinstall it without succeeding to fix the problem. Does anyone have the same problem and a solution to it?
"Bridge encountered a problem and is unable to read the cache. Please try purging the central cache in Cache Preferences to correct the situation."

You must have a Mac.  Try this.
Quit Bridge, from user library (NOT system and root library) preferences folder find and delete the com.adobe.bridge5.plist file manual. Do this also in same user library caches folder (Caches/Adobe/Bridge CS6) and inhere find and the folder called 'cache' and drag it to the trash.
restart Bridge holding down option key and choose reset preferences, then try again.

  • Bridge Freezing, Not Displaying Thumbnails, Says Disk Space is Low and to Purge Cache

    Hello,
I'm working in Bridge CS5 on a Mac 0S X version 10.9.2. I have 12 GB of RAM and the server has 240 TB capacity, 76.69 available.
Recently I've received the following error message while processing large photo shoots with both DNG and JPEG files: Bridge is running low on memory. It is recommended that Bridge is restarted.
I have also been manually caching large photo shoots and my cache preferences were set to Keep 100% Preview In Cache and Automatically Export Cache To Folder When Possible. My cache size was set to 500,000.  Yesterday, Bridge started to freeze while attempting to open folders. The wheel would spin at the bottom with the message Compiling Criteria. The only way to close Bridge was a Force Quit. This happened several times.
Today, image thumbnails will no longer display, only the DNG/JPEG icons. I received the following error message:
I have tried restarting Bridge while holding the alt/Option key to reset the preferences and checking all three boxes - no luck. I have done the same thing with the boxes unchecked - no luck.  I have tried manually purging the cache from its location in the library - no luck. I have tried resetting the cache preferences from the toolbar - no luck. I have tried deleting the cache files from the folders - nothing changes. I have tried purging the cache for each folder from the tool bar - nothing happens.
I need to restore the thumbnails and rebuild the cache for each folder. Does anybody have an idea what is wrong or how to help?
    Many Thanks!

Okay, so I have a solution. If after purging the central cache on the server Bridge continues to not perform normally try emptying the trash. I did this and it worked.

  • Bridge CC asks to Purge Cache but freezes when I try to do so

Am using Bridge on a MAC. Each time I open Bridge an error message comes up requesting to Purge Cache via preferences - But when I try to do this, it freezes.
In fact, even before trying to purge cache, if I try navigating to another folder on Bridge it also freezes.
Have trashed Bridge, downloaded it again and reinstalled - problem continues.
    What should I do?

    Yes that worked - THANKS.
I created a new cache folder and deleted the other - and now it works!
I had to show hidden files via terminal to delete the previous cache folder.

    Hi,
I developed a web application using HTML5-Offline Application Cache mechanism. Inspite of deleting the cache as mentioned in the above steps, Firefox still maintains a copy of the page in it's cache. Also, a serious bug is, even though we delete all temp files used by Firefox, and open the previously cached page, it displays it correctly, but upon refreshing/reloading it again shows the previous version of the page maintained in the cache.

We have had this issue many, many times before including on the latest 3.6 rev. It appears that when the applicationCache has an update triggered by a new manifest file, the browser may still use only its local network cache to check for updates to the files in the manifest, instead of forcing an HTTP request and revalidating both the browser cache and the applicationCache versions of the cached file (seems there is more than one). I have to assume this is a browser bug, as one should not have to frig with server Cache-Control headers and such to get this to work as expected (and even then it still doesn't sometimes).
The only thing that seems to fix the problem is setting network.http.use-cache to false (default is true) in about:config . This helps my case because we only ever run offline (applicationCache driven) apps in the affected browser (our managed mobile apps platform), but it will otherwise slow down your browser experience considerably.

  • How to delete Message cache without bouncing web server?

When a message ( FND_NEW_MESSAGES) that is used in a OA Framework page is updated, it is not reflected in the OA web page right away.
Clearing cache through Functional Administrator does not help for messages.
How to delete message cache so that a OA Framework page shows updated message text? Is there any way other than bouncing web server?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks

    Hi,
I think clearing cache through Functional Administrator should do.
You can try the below process...
Search for "_pages" (get in touch with DBA to know exact path) in $COMMON_TOP and remove using command "rm -Rf _pages". Then clear cache through Functional Administrator.
Let us know if this helps.

  • Purge Cache

Every time I start up Adobe Bridge, I get an error message which reads, "Bridge encountered a problem and its unable to read the cache. Please try purging the central cache in Cache Preferences to correct."
I then go into Adobe Bridge Preferences > Cache > Manage > Purge Cache. After clicking on Purge Cache, I continue to have the same error message after restarting my computer and opening up Adobe Bridge. In addition,
my thumbnails continue to load up slowly.
What do you think the problem is?

What do you think the problem is?
A corrupted cache folder. Quickest solution is to Quit Bridge and delete the content of the whole Bridge Cache folder manual.
Not clear what system you are using neither what version of Bridge and OS. I only know the path for a Mac, Windows might be similar.
Go to the user library (per MacOsX 7 hidden by default, in Finder use menu Go with option to reveal).
    Here is the path:
User (your username)/Library/Caches/Adobe/BridgeCSxx/ - Inhere are two files, a plug in cache and a folder called cache.
Drag both items outside the library, preferable to the trash.
Restart Bridge (both deleted items will be recreated and fresh but empty) and try again.

    Hi,
When you set your monitor to a screen resolution that it won't support, the screen will go black for a few seconds while the monitor reverts back to the original resolution.
Regarding screen resolution, we may follow the below two articles to change it:
    Change your screen resolution
Getting the best display on your monitor
    Follow the steps below:
    1. Open Screen Resolution by clicking the Start button, clicking
Control Panel, and then, under Appearance and Personalization, clicking Adjust screen resolution.
2.Click the drop-down list next to Resolution. Check for the resolution marked (recommended). This is your LCD monitor's native resolution—usually the highest resolution your monitor can support.
And if the monitor is LCD monitor, The monitor's  manufacturer or reseller should also be able to tell you the native resolution for your LCD monitor.  Or we may check the monitor's manual to adjust.

  • Purge Cache from Admin tool

    Hi Experts,
I am using security filters for groups. I am devolving my S&V. when ever I am changing my conditions it is not reflecting. I think I have issue with cache. When ever I am taking query from log always where condition is showing previous table which one I used two days ago.
My question is how can purge cache from security filters ? I don’t want keep any cache for any user.
Please let me know. Thanks for your time.

    Hi user10441472,
    Hi,
When you setup your session variable for your row level security, are you doing row-wise initialization? If so, did you remember to un-check the Use caching box?
If that is your problem, follow these steps to fix it
    1) Open the RPD as Administrator
    2) Go to Manage -> Variables
    3) Double click on your initialization block
    4) Click on the edit target button
    !http://i47.tinypic.com/ddzwjt.png!
    5) Un-check the Use Caching check box
    !http://i48.tinypic.com/2qi01sm.png!
The other thing you can do is completely disable caching on your physical tables. Do the follow to do this:
    1) Open your RPD as Administrator
    2) Double click on a physical table
    3) Un-check Cachable
    !http://i47.tinypic.com/1r7xcp.png!
A final place you can turn off caching is a report.
    1) Open you Answer report
    2) Click on the advanced tab
    3) Check the Bypass presentation service cache

Good luck and if you found this post useful, please award points!

  • Delete result cache

    Hello guys,
I just on measuring the response time for some SPARQL Queries that I send to my DB. In order to have similar and correct times and to compare the times, I want to delete the cache.
Can anyone tell me, how to delete the cache?
Do I have to delete it by entering any command in SQL*PLUS or is it also possible to delete the cache in Oracle Enterprise Manager?
ah, btw: I am using Oracle 11g ;)
    Regards
    Christian

Are you talking about result cache? I don't think it is used for your queries.
To measure query execution time, one way is to run a benchmark query multiple times, get rid of the first one (or two) result(s) and take
    an average of the rest.
    Cheers,
    Zhe Wu
