Regarding dislpay of text description in MM04

HI,
i am working on a report which is related to tcode MM04 as it is showing the changes made to material.i am able to display all the fields but i was not able to show the FIELD DESCRIPTION field in my report.
plzz help me by giving which table i should use for it <REMOVED BY MODERATOR>

Hi Ric,
The description is not as such stored in a table as per the standard program. The programmer has determined which field has been changed and which table it belongs to.
Do u want to display the description Storage Location data as displayed in the below e.g.?
E.g -
Entry              Storage location data              1105000000000001998254141RTV
The details related to a change number is stored in a cluster table CDCLS, which returns data in RAW format and needs to be formated for better understanding.
You can use the following FM, wchich are used for reading and displaying the change document details -
CHANGEDOCUMENT_READ_HEADERS    - Change document: Read change document header
CHANGEDOCUMENT_READ_POSITIONS   - Change document: Read change document items
CHANGEDOCUMENT_DISPLAY                 - Display change documents

Hi,
a) Find out for which table this long text is linked.
b) Go to TTXOB table and in the field TDOBJECT, check whether this entry is present.
c) If present, then use FM READ_TEXT, to get the long text value.
Important parameters to be passed in READ_TEXT
a) ID
b) Language (EN??)
c) Name ( I believe in this case it would be ZEILE)
d) Object (TTXOB-TDOBJECT value)

Creating table view with text descriptions

Hello everyone,
I need to create a table view to a table ZMATERIAL (example) that needs to enter MATNR and MAKTX. But when i insert the material number and press enter, the view should automatically search the text description MAKTX of that material on it's respective table.
How can i do this ?

Most likely my variant works only for a single material number. In this case you have to use table maintenance events:

Probably you have to use two or three events:
- Event AA: Instead of the Standard Data Read Routine (Here you read to material texts for both possible materials per record)
- Event 05: When Creating a New Entry
- Event 08: After Correcting the Contents of a Selected Field (when the user changes the second material number)

"Internal Goods/Services" make the text-description changeable

Hi SRM-gurus,
we'd like to make the TEXT description and the price changeable when adding an item (with mat.number) to shopping cart via "Internal Goods/Services". The price and the text which have been replicated from the backend should be changeable.
So far in the old R/3 system users were able to enter the material-number and then change the suggested description e.g. from "motor 12345" into "Repair motor 12345".
Is this possible?

Hello Henning,
It sounds like you should use a Described Requirement. However, with what you stated about change the text, it almost sounds like a Service Master implementation. I saysing this because the Motor 12345 sound like a Material Master item but Report Motor 12345 sounds like a Service Master item.
We do not use Service Masters and so utilize the Describe Requirement.

In AS01 - Depreciation Area text description is missing - Please help!!!!

We are encountering a wierd issue in SAP which we are unable to resolve.
When executing transaction AS01 to create an asset, under the Deprec. Areas tab, the Depreciation Area text description is missing. The areas are all there but only the text description is missing   This is only missing when logged in SAP using Portuguese language, All other languages have descriptions available.
We ensured that we loaded descriptions while logged in SAP using Portuguese language. So while logged in under the Portuguese language, The descriptions for dep. areas where loaded using SPRO under "Define Depreciation Areas" IMG task.

Haha I figured it out. I just gave up to easily.
I did not populate the short description for Depriciation Areas.   It the short text field which was driving all the other descrption fields in SAP tcode transactions like AS01.

Can not see long text description of a characteristics in portal

Hi experts,
I designed two queries via Query designer and published them to portal but I can not see the the long text description of "Name" attribute belongs to 0BPARTNER characteristics.
One of the queries shows only the last name of partner in portal while it is showing full name and last name in Bex Analyzer. The other query shows only the key value in both portal and Bex Analyzer.
I want to see long text description in both queries.
For an additional information, I'm extracting data from CRM 5.00 to BW 7.00
What will be the reason for this and how can I solve it?
Can anyone help me for this issue, it's a kind of emergency situation.

we have the same problem.
We want to change only in the screen variable the hierarchy text (from default to long\medium text) but even if there's a possibility to do this, really it doesn't happen anything - it' s possible when you start query, in the selection screen inside every the variable there's a command "User Settings" in which manage what you want to see (I put display custom, as text, medium text).
I try to do this also in query analizer, selecting variable (hierarchy) and enter in this (user setting), changing in display custom as text - medium text, but even if I save this settings, really doesn't happen anything.
It seems the system isn't sensitive to this selection...
By now, if someone has an answer, please write us!

I would also recommend to write the description into the meta data. This would allow to place a text frame above the image and it is possible to add meta information and file name automatically together with the image, when you place it or even in a prepared template.
Meta data information can be written easily in Bridge in the Meta File Workspace.

Photo gallery with text description

I've got PSE7 and DW CS4. I'd like to add a photo gallery to a website where the photo is accompanied by a text description of about 60 words (ie not just a title). Ie the user clicks on a thumbnail and when the larger image is displayed, the user also sees this text description.
As far as I can see PSE7 doesn't allow me to create such a gallery.
Any ideas? If there is another tool that can do this, then I'd be interested to hear about it. I've looked at flash galleries too to buy but haven't found a suitable one yet.

You might give SmugMug a try.
They have a wide variety of presentation styles for their galleries, and I think they have one like you describe.
And... PSE7 has a built in uploader to SmugMug to make posting your images there easy. In the Organizer, look under the Share Tab, and then under More Options. A couple cool services hidden under there.

How to display TEXT description from Documents tab of Product master in ISA

Hi,
We have product related PDF document attached with Product.
I can access in CRM by Going
Products--> Maintain Products.
When I chose specific Product I can see Product related details.
There are many tabs like "General", "Material", "Sales and Distributions", "Documents", etc...
"Documents" tab have 2 folders "Pictures" and "TEXTS".
under "TEXT" folder we have PDF documents.
it has short product name like "ASP009" and Description "ASP 009 Manual".
When I click on any one I can see attached PDF document in Preview window in CRM.
How I can access text description "ASP 009 Manual" on "ProductDetailsB2C.JSP" file.
I want to display this "ASP 009 Manual" description on "ProductDetailsB2C.JSP".
Is there any Standard Java class method available in ISA.
I really appreciate any help on this and assign points to them for solution.

Here's the steps we use in our ProductDetailB2C.jsp (B2B uses same code in another file name I forget right now) to provide a link to our technical data sheets...this includes how to create a new document type in CRM as well as the code needed to display it on the ISA
Step 1: Transaction OAC2, create Document Type example CRM_TECHDA
Step 2: Transaction SPRO-> CRM -> Basic functions -> Content Management -> Define template for folders
Step 3: Double click template PRODUCT_MATERIAL
Step 4: Right-click Documents, Choose Create Folder
(Make sure to input DOCUMENT TYPE(Properties TAB) = Step 1 value example CRM_TECHDA)
Step 5: Add a new set of lines of code for each of the types of 'text' you have created to display as a link in the .jsp file(s), changing the CAPPED name to the appropriate name of your specific field below:

I forgot to add, that you could add the attribute information Sateesh talks about where we just use "Technical Data Sheet"
on the third line of the code...we don't bother with the name of the file as you're needing since we had too many people
naming them and the overall consistency was horrible.

CS5 Missing text descriptions using insertion pointer

Only when using CS5.
When I move the inserton pointer (hand with finger extended) to any tool or icon the yellow rectangular text box appears but it is either empty or contains the garbled first portion of the tool/icon name. When text does appear it will only be the first word or two (like icon title), larger font then normal Windows size, at a 45 degree angle and bold appearing.
The problem just occured this morning. I recently installed both CS5 and Lightroom 3. I am in the process of setting up workspaces and use two monitors. The images are always on the primary monitor and for CS5/Bridge the tools and other panels are on the secondary monitor. I have restarted etc, looked for a preference change and tried several differtent applications including LR3. In all other applications the text description displays accurately.
To my recollection I did not change any Preferences except color space and 'Efficency' as opposed to image size. I wonder if something did not carry over during the process of setting up the workspaces for each monitor. I had Bridge open, worked with Camer Raw 6.3 then saved an image as Tif. I noticed the problem when I opened the Tif version in CS5.
It seems the problem resides in CS5 since neither Bridge, LR3 nor 'native' Windows are affected.

I want to make an HTML for the long text description for an area page.... But how to make it Multi languague? I mean, I attach trhe HTML to the Area Page, and the HTML its on the KM defined by a resource. But this HTML have only one languague... Do I have to do it in Javascript and get the browser locale and transalte the text on the HTML?
could be another way?

Go to Content admin -> KM Content -> Documents.
Upload ur HTML file here ... in any folder... Open Documents -> Public Documents
then Go to Folder-> New Upload and UPload the document.
Now to get URL of the Document..
From the context menu of the document uploaded, go to Details ->Settings -> Properties
Choose access links -> copy WebDav URL

Populate text description in the open hub destination

Hi SDNers,
I have requirement with open hub destination, i am taking the cube data to SQL server database.
in that scenario i need text description in the cube ,but we can not see the text description data in the cube(because cube can hold dimension data and utmost navigational attributes data but no textual description).
Text data lies out side the cube but i need couples of text description for master data texts.
Do i need to write the code to populate(look-up) the text description from text table.
Can any one suggest an idea.

Yes, you may want to write a code on transformations from Cube to Open hub to go and get text from Text table of that Info object.
Make sure to create a new IO of lenght equal to Text field in IO and add this new IO in the Open hub and in transformations write a code at field like:
select single TXTSH from /BIC/Txxxxx into wa_text where
key_of_p_table = /bic/source_field
and langu = 'EN'
If sy-subrc = 0.
result = wa_text.
endif.

I have a MM workflow which runs whenever a person creates some material requirement. And that requirement goes to the approver's Groupwise(External Email).
So my requirement is:-
If there is any way to pass Workflow's text description to Novell Groupwise Subject Text, so that endusers can be informed of the nature of the workflow.

What you need to do first is to set this mailbox as a primary profile in outlook (** temporarily - just for the purpose of creating a server side autoreply rule).

Once this mailbox has been set as the primary profile, then go to tools => Rules and Alerts => New Rule => Start from a Blank Rule then select "check messages when they arrive" => Next=> then select "Where my name is in the To or Cc box" = Next => then select "Have server reply using a Specific Message" on the Step2 box underneath, click "a specific template" then compose the autoreply on the body of the email and put the subject you want on the sibject field. Once completed composing the autoreply dont forget to click "Save and Close". => Next => Next => Finish.
Close your outlook and let someone try to send a test email to the "secondary mailbox". They should be able to receive an autoreply regardless if your outlook is closed.
