  • Distribution rules and projects - automatic checks

    Hello,
I haveve three issues/questions regarding distribution rules and projects:
    - Are we able to implement an automatic control which does not allow bookings without distribution rules? The
control already exists for booking which we'll be entered manually. But for automatically generated postings
is not always in place. For example by closing a production order when the appropriate distribution rule is
    missing in the BOM.
    - Additional for projects: Either the distribution rule which is defined in the project master data should be
proposed automatically and/or only the defined distribution rule is allowed for any bookings. This is mainly
necessary for invoices which are registered only in SAP and not in PM (for example sales commission invoices,
transport costs etc.). There people often use distribution rules which are not suitable.
Our understanding is that once a project is set-up with a distribution rule and an entry is posted against
that item, the distribution rule can not be changed. Is this correct?
    With kind regards,
    Amine Z.

  • Itu00B4s possible to change the Distribution rules for a order type RM01 ??

    Hi Experts:
I need to change the settlement rule which is automatic created at the moment  that you create a Cost colector (class order RM01) transaction KKF6N..
but when I go into KKF6N transaction and I select the "change" option and after that I go into settlement rule screen, I can´t change the distribution rule.
I would need to change the settlement type from "PER" value to "TOT" value.. It´is possible in this kind of Cost colectors??
    Thanks and regards!
    Manuel

    Hi,
Please note that you will not be able to change manually the settlement rule for a cost collector.
When you save, the system creates a settlement rule for the product cost collector.
The settlement rule for the product cost collector always specifies the distribution rule "100% to material" and the settlement type  is always PER (periodic).
Also refer the note 388457 in which one of the paragraph it says "As of Release 4.5, a special settlement rule is generated when you create a product cost collector (with procedure 5: delivery value for product cost collector). You cannot subsequently change this settlement rule".

  • Best practice for Active Directory User Templates regarding Distribution Lists

    Hello All
I am looking to implement Active Directory User templates for each department in the company to make the process of creating user accounts for new employees easier. Currently when a user is created a current user's Active directory account is copied, but
this has led to problems with new employees being added to groups which they should not be a part of.
I have attempted to implement this in the past but ran into an issue regarding Distribution Lists. I would like to set up template users with all group memberships that are needed for the department, including distribution lists. Previously I set this up
but received complaints from users who would send e-mail to distribution lists the template accounts were members of.
When sending an e-mail to the distribution list with a member template user, users received an error because the template account does not have an e-mail address.
What is the best practice regarding template user accounts as it pertains to distribution lists? It seems like I will have to create a mailbox for each template user but I can't help but feel there is a better way to avoid this problem. If a mailbox is created
for each template user, it will prevent the error messages users were receiving, but messages will simply build up in these mailboxes. I could set a rule for each one that deletes messages, but again I feel like there is a better way which I haven't thought
    of.
Has anyone come up with a better method of doing this?
    Thank you

You can just add arbitrary email (not a mailbox) to all your templates and it should solve the problem with errors when sending emails to distribution lists.
If you want to further simplify your user creation process you can have a look at Adaxes (consider it's a third-party app). If you want to use templates, it gives you a slightly better way to do that (http://www.adaxes.com/tutorials_WebInterfaceCustomization_AllowUsingTemplatesForUserCreation.htm)
and it also can automatically perform tasks such as mailbox creation for newly created users (http://www.adaxes.com/tutorials_AutomatingDailyTasks_AutomateExchangeMailboxesCreationForNewUsers.htm).
Alternatively you can abandon templates at all and use customizable condition-based rules to automatically perform all the needed tasks on user creation such as OU allocation, group membership assignment, mailbox creation, home folder creation, etc. based on
the factors you predefine for them.

  • How to add the distribution rule at AR Invoice in SAP 2007B PL10

    Hi All,
I want to add the default distribution rules of each item at marketing documents via DI API when item's warehouse changed? Now, I'm using the SAP 2007B PL 10.
           Any ideas?
    Thanks and regards,
    Lei

    Hi,
When add the Itemcode, default warehouse and costing codes (Profit Center) are automatically asign by SAP.
When change the warehouse for this Itemcode, the costing codes(Profit Center) are disappear. I don't want to disappear the costing codes, that's why I try to resign the default costing codes when the warehouse change.
At SAP 2005, easily  access the screen matrix in the marketing document and add the required values in each costing codes columns. But SAP 2007, all costing codes are combined in 1 col and those have the other screen.
Do you have any idea to control the costing codes?
    Thanks and regards,

  • Distribution rules in Incoming payment and Outgoing payment

    Hi,
Did anyone know the purpose of having distribution rules in all the outstanding invoices in both Incoming and Outgoing payment.
I try to attach the distribution rules to specific invoice and post incoming payment but it did not appear in the bank journal entry row.
I also try to attach profit center in AR Invoice row but after posting and do Incoming payment, the distribution rules also never show for that particular invoice.
Really wonder how the distribution rule works?
    Regards
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,
From the SAP help, you can know what is the use of this rule.
    Defining Distribution Rules
    Use
For cost accounting, this setting is mandatory.
Use this procedure to define distribution rules to distribute amounts between different profit centers.
    Prerequisites
    You have defined profit centers.
Note: If you delete a distribution rule for one profit center (100%) this does not automatically delete the profit center.
You can also look up this key word to find more info. For examle, you can find SAP note 1236348 to see if it fits you.
    Thanks,
    Gordon

  • Different Distribution Rule on Outgoing Payment cannot be split on Journal

    Hi All,
I created an Outgoing Payment for Vendor for several invoices. Each invoice was assigned to different Distribution Rule. But the journal created summarized all the invoices (only one row for debit AP), and no distribution rule was assigned. Is this a bug? Anybody ever experienced the same problem?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Marini

    Hi Gordon,
    I am working with version 2007 A PL 42.
I found that Distribution Rule on Outgoing Payment is for Discount purpose. When we fill Discount then it will be posted to Discount Account with Distribution Rule defined.
    Thanks,
    Marini

  • Profit Centers & Distribution Rules

    hi experts,
I have created a distribution rule which consists of 5 profit centers as following:
    Sales1 20%
    Sales2 20%
    Sales3 20%
    Sales4 20%
    Sales5 20%
I posted a JE with amount of 2000 to one of my expense accounts with distribution rule tagged in row level.
    Run:
P&L statement with profit center Sales1 is selected (expected result: expense account 400)
    Result:
Empty~NOTHING. (I believe 400 should be showing in my P&L right?)
Please advice me on above statement.

    Hi Lim,
you need to define the distribution rule (remember if it is direct charge or indirect charge), than You can post a document or a JE with a G/L account of expenses or profit and you need to specify the Dsitribution Rule code into the JE row with the G/L Account.
When you run the Profit Center Report and you can see the amount's distributed by Profit Center based on the rule you have defined.
With the Profit & Loss Statement, you can't run it with the Profit Center into Expanded Selection Criteria but you can run only with the Distribution Rule (in fact into the JE you have inserted the rule non the profit center !! ).
This is a limitation and a system definiton of Cost Accounting into Business One.

  • Selection of Distribution Rule in Incoming and Outgoing Payment

There is an option of selecting the distribution rule in Incoming and Outgoing Payment having transaction of Account type but the requirement is of having the selection of distribution rule having transaction of Customer and Vendor (Invoice wise and Payment on Account)

What is the purpose for distribution rules in Outstanding invoice list in incoming payment? I try to attach the analysis there and post incoming payment but it will not appear in Journal entries which defeat the main purpose.
The problem face by customer is that they had many outlets and finance department in HQ needs to monitor daily collection from each outlets.
The desired outcome by customer is:
Dr Bank  [profit center=Outlet A]   XXX
    Cr     Customer                                   XXX
Eventually print out reports in XLR as
                                     Outlet A     Outlet B    Outlet C
    Bank                          XXX            XXX          XXX

  • Selecting Distribution Rule in any Transaction

When generating journal entry I want to input distribution rule in the row. Now while clicking 'Choose from list' button in 'Distribution Rule' field system pops up an window to select the appropriate rule. But in choose from list window in 'distribution code' drop down list shows only the code of the rule and not the description for which user finds trouble to select the appropritae rule e.g. when attaching employee system shows only employee code in the distribution code. Now let us know how to bring the description of the ditribution rule along side the code in this drop down list.

    hi
for the employee code, use the actual Employee code as distribution code which will help the user to identify easily

  • SAP NetWeaver Mobile 7.1- Distribution Rule

    Hi,
I have work order header and work order operations nodes(item) in an SWCV.My requirment is to have operations whose work center is say "ABC" alone.
I have created a distribution model for this Work Order  data object.Created a Distribution rule also with a device attribute WORKCNETER of operation node.
While creating device in Mobile administrator , i give the device attribute for WORK CENTER = ABC
But the device extracts data for items which does not have workcenter ABC.
    Solutions?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Muralikrishna T.

    Hi,
SAP Netweaver mobile 7.1 is using the same DVDs as SAP Netweaver PI 7.1. Only difference is that you choose the option for Mobile System when starting the installation in SAPinst.
Everything is included in the installation and no separate installation is required.
