Regarding Erro at time of logging with sys

Hi,
I have installed oracle 9i in windows xp. but when i log on with SYS/SYS as sysdba that time it gives error
ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error.
what is the reason for it. how to solve it.

I thought the red colour doesn't mean any good.
You're viewing the log in a third-party application. The red color represents the developer's opinion as to the importance of the message. You'd have to take that up with him or her.
Why then this message at all?
That message is normal when the source volume has been unmounted since the last snapshot was taken, and perhaps under other conditions.
If you overread your logs and search for an explanation for every cryptic message, you'll quickly lose your sanity. Log messages are only significant in the context of solving a problem.

Software Update runs every time I reboot (with Sys Pref box unchecked)!

I have gone to System Preferences and unchecked the Software Update box so it won't run automatically, but every time the computer starts it loads software update. Is there somewhere else I need to disable this?

System Prefs->Accounts->your account->login items and ensure that there's nothing there WRT software update. If nothing's there, then reset Software Update, go to ~/Library/Preferences/ and select the com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist file, CMD+I, and lock it. Restart and see if that fixes things. Finally, some Apple apps have a check for updates automatically option. If checked, that might be triggering SU.

Can not log into server computer with any accounts - "You are unable to login to the user account "abcdefg" at this time. Logging in to the account failed because an error occurred."

I have a Mac mini running the latest version of OS X and Server. Been running fine and flawlessly. However, I had a strange problem with the iCloud preferences panel crashing when I tried to access it, so I rebooted. Now I can not log into the system with any accounts. My master admin account (along with all the others) gives me the error:
You are unable to login to the user account "abcdefg" at this time. Logging in to the account failed because an error occurred."
I am able to see the server from other macs and I can log into it using the same account, but it only shows me a few of the shared folders I have access to but NOT to my main directories.
Rebooting into Command-R and doing a disk utility, I try and repair permission on that drive and get a bunch of errors like:
ACL found but not expected on Users
Repaired "Users"
ACL found but not expected on Users/.localized
Repaired "Users/.localized"
ACL found but not expected on Users/Shared
Repaired "Users/shared"
ACL found but not expected on Users/Shared/.localized
Repaired "Users/Shared/.localized"
Permissions repair complete.
But rebooting is no joy...same problem. Any idea what is going on or how to repair it? Should I do a time machine restore? Complete new OS X install? Any idea what is causing this or how to salvage it?

Got everything to re-install and it worked fine...for a few hours. Then I came in to find ALL of my network users deleted. Just GONE. Then found out the Open Directory was trashed and was unable to open, recover or restore from a backup. Looks like I may have a bad drive here.
I installed a new drive in the system, re-installed and so far (for a couple of hours anyway) the system seems to be working and stable.

How can I figure out what my password is and keep it unlocked? Every time I do a system update, it requires the password and sends me into cyber trouble with the remember my keychain access, requiring it every time I log in. A real hassle to be avoided

How can I find out what my password on the computer is? I had to change it due to my teenagers helping themselves, and now every time there is a system update, I have to have the password, which I cannot remember or find. It then wants it every time I log in and pops up Key Chain Access as well. Very annoying. Why not? You need your system dvds to troubleshoot & to reset/change passwords in view of your current OS listed in your profile.

I have to have the password, which I cannot remember or find.
When selecting passwords, make sure it's one that you will NEVER forget AND no one else can figure out.
Old school--- > Print it out & keep in a safe place. A place that ONLY you know about AND never forget.
New school---> Get a password manager utility. Highly recommend 1Password which is shareware. Do a Google search for free password managers.

Try the following, in order, until (hopefully) resolved:
1a. Delete Preferred Network(s)
System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Advanced > Wi-Fi tab
Under "Preferred Networks," delete the network(s) you regularly use from the list.
1b. Delete AirPort Keychain Entries
Launch the "Keychain Access" application located in Applications/Utilties.
In the windows on the left side: Select login for Keychains and "All Items" for Category.
Click on the "Kind" filter at the top, and look for any "AirPort network password" entries...and delete them.
1c. Add Preferred Network(s)
System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Advanced > Wi-Fi tab
Add the preferred network(s) using the "+" button.
Restart or log out then back in.
2. Move System Configuration Files
(Note: You will have to reestablish your network connections settings.)
Go to /Library/Preferences
Move the SystemConfiguration folder to the desktop.
Restart your Mac. (Note: OS X will rebuild the files that are now sitting on your desktop. If this doesn't resolve the issue, you can move the folder back to it's original location.)

This is expected behavior. Upon initial sign in to the iTunes Store (or a new iTunes Store region), you will be asked to accept the Terms and Conditions, as well as enter account information/billing information.

A More Advanced History Log with Smart Timer

In the way that I use photoshop, I heavily depend on the History Log. I would like to have the option to preserve the data in the History Window instead of having to cut and paste the various 'History States' and then save them as different layers. In addition, I would like the option to be able to see the exact timing of each action performed in the history window.
I would like to know how much time I am spending on each open window in Photoshop, Lightroom or other Adobe Product. A Smart Timer built into the history log would be perfect for this.
A Simple tool that generates an Embedded Log of the date, the exact start and end time, a log entry showing when that photoshop window was on top of the screen with mouse or graphic tablet activity, and an exact minute count of how long that photoshop window was worked on (minus the bathroom breaks or moments of inactivity).
I can't tell you how much I would love to be able to open up a Photoshop Document that I previously worked on and have the History Log in the History Window still preserved.... no matter how large of a file is saved. With the embedded Smart Timer, It would be great to be able to show my clients the exact time that was worked on their projects. It would also be nice to check up on students, employeess or co-workers progress.

make a smart albumn
choose "Name" in first field
Then "contains"
The leave it blank
anywhere that it finds a name that is empty it sorts it to the smart folder and you then can go thru them that way
Please note that some photos have more than one face and even if one face is named and the others are not it still finds it and sorts it to the smart album

Message: "The database structure has been modified" every time I log to SAP

"The database structure has been modified. In order to resume this process, all open windows will be closed". Every time I log to one of my companies in SAP Business One this message appears.
I haven't installed any new addons and made no changes in database structure (and any other user hasn't done any changes), but this message appears always when I log to company for the first time (when I try to log on another user or log to another company there is no message). Can anyone help me with this problem?

Iam using LabVIEW DSC. Values are being logged continously into citadel.
Is it possible to retain data of just one month and delete the earlier data as fresh data is being logged into citadel?

Yes, Days to keep historical data does what you are looking for. After the specified number of days, the old data gets overwritten with new data. So, you always have only the specified number of days' of data in Citadel.
Note: You may sometimes see that old data doesn't get overwritten till after a day or so of your setting (depending on how much data is being logged). This is because Citadel logs in "pages" and waits till the current page it's logging to is full before it starts overwriting the old ones.
You do not have to use the 'Max time between logs' option for this. This option forces Citadel to log data every so-many hh:mm:ss regardless of whether or not the data has changed. Note that this is NOT a way to "log data on
demand". Because, this periodic logging of data would change for a particular tag when its data changes. So, even with this setting all data may not get logged at one shot. Anyways, as I said, you do not have to use this setting for what you're trying to do.

The purpose of logging is to find out what had happened when needed. When the
time comes to read log messages, you want to know both the log message and its
whereabouts (class name, method name, file name and line number). So you need
to hard code whereabouts.
But hard coded whereabouts are very difficult to maintain: when you modify your
source code, line number changes; when you copy and paste a line, its class name
and method name change. If whereabouts are wrong, you introduce bugs in your logging
logic and the log messages are useless at the best.
This article shows you an example of using freeware Redress tool to rectify whereabouts
programmatically in your Makefile or Ant build file. So your whereabouts are always
correct for both Java and JSP source file.
Redress tool is part of SuperLogging at http://www.ACElet.com. SuperLogging also
provides an open source wrapper Alog.java, which redirects log method calls to
your favorite logging package. Redress tool can rectify whereabouts information
on all Alog's method calls in your application. So, if you call Alog's log methods,
these calls will be rectified by Redress.
JDK 1.4 introduces a new utility package java.util.logging. The example in this
article is based on JDK logging. Log4J is a cousin of JDK logging. Log4J users
should have no difficulties to modify this example for Log4J. Both JDK logging
and Log4J are excellent logging software for single JVM.
Note: Redress tool rectifies method calls on Alog, not JDK logging. You need to
call Alog instead of JDK logging in your application.

Windows small business Server 2011 standard took long time to log (preparing to configure windows)

it took very long time to log to the desktop when ever i restart the server.
now
i shutdown the server, then start it again since 2 hours , till now it show me
(preparing to configure windows) Do not turn off your computer.

Before going further, would you please let me confirm something more?
Can you remember which operation had been done, then this issue occurred firstly? Installed some updates or any other operation?
When this issue occurred, please check if you can ping and RDP to this SBS 2011 standard.
On current situation, it’s hard to say the root cause of this issue. I suggest that you can restart the SBS
2011 standard in Safe Mode with Networking and check if this issue still persists.

AppStore asking to sign in every time I log in to my local account. Is there a way to disable this?

I recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion on my MacBook Pro and I noticed that every time I log in to my local account it wants me to authenticate with the AppStore. I have a few apps that I purchased in Snow Leopard, but this is very annoying. Is there a way to disable this prompt or have it saved to my keychain?
I am currently running 10.7.1 with all the latest updates.

I used to get prompted when there was something waiting or unfinished.
