Regarding ESOA - Hype or Reality

Hello Friends,
Im working in Process Integration area. And heard abt the ESOA.
My Queries are
1.How the ESOA will enrich Netweaver Process Integration.
2.I have seen in a SAP blog the definition of SOA as "Loose Coupling, Open-Closed or Interface Segregation ".... But I heard all these words long time ago...whats new with this ESOA.
2.I have seen couple of sites that SOA is just hype created ..I think its a strong statement....IS it not?? So,Is ESA is really a good methodology...
Note : I am not expecting links ....I have already searched SDN ,and got these queries

  • Adobe marketing videos? Hype vs. reality? Please weigh in...

    Howdy, all...
So, I just finished watching this video piece that was emailed to me by Adobe:
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/cs-55-production-premium-feature-tour-/premiere-pros-64bit-editi ng-and-grading-power-
In this video, they show a laptop displaying 10 HD tracks of footage, in mixed formats, with multiple color corrections and keys, all playing back in realtime (although reduced resolution), and this on a non-GPU accelerated computer.
However, reading the messages on this forum, it would seem that ANY HD editing (even custs and dissolves) is beyond the reach of all but the most expensive desktop-replacement 10lb behemoths.
I'm just wondering where on the continuum of reality PPRo CS5.5 actually falls. Does anyone have experience using PPro on a reasonably priced (ie. $1500) laptop with an external USB3 drive, or the like? Is 2-3 tracks of basic HD editing doable?
Most importantly....is Adobe kidding us with the performance in this video? Is it tweaked to death just for their roadshow, or pure hype?
    Love to hear all opinions...
    Best,
    Ben

  • Infinity... Hype and Reality

Have just had a look at the Infinity web page and had a good laugh especially the gaming section about low pings, this is far from the reality at the moment. In previous post I mentioned been unable to play Steam based games this has been the case for well over a week now and no acknowledgement or apology is forthcoming from BT, not a happy situation for someone like me who is only interested is only online gaming.
I find it difficult to except that someone like me who is lucky enough to have nearly 40 mb can not play a game that at one time before commercialisation of the Internet could play with a 480kbs connection and come to think of it even host my own server.
So now I find myself locked into a contract for a service that is not fit for purpose with a company that has to continuously hide behind its t&c. I know that I am not the only one who is experiencing problems and like me most people I would have thought would have a little more patience and understanding if we had a little more communication from BT on when we can expect to be able to use its product as advertised. Also this would stop cynical people like me from posting on the forums.

Here is a traceroute showing the problems I am having, can someone from Bt plz advice if a fix is posssible soon please .

  • Advice on setting up a windows server 2012 domain LAB for study within Hyper V server 2012 r2 machine

HI im wanting to setup a study lab containing several windows 2012 r2 servers (mixture of core and full installs) to allow me to study towards my MCSA in server 2012 r2 and then for MCSE.
    Physical equpiment,
1 pc   which is has window 8.1 pro installed from this machine.  This machine i would like  to remote manage and connect through to my Hyper-v server and then into any of the virtual machines. (this machine is more of a gaming pc so not
able to run to many vm's from it)
2 pc bought Just for study  8 core processor 1 tb of hhd space 16 gb of ram.
This machine i would like to setup using hyper-v server 2012 r2,  which then i would create a test domain within it also with some clients allowing me to play and undstand the principles im learning.
now im getting conflictiong information regarding the Hyper-v server 2012.
If i set the hyper-v server up as a standalone in a work group.  Would i be able to manage ther VM's within the hyperv server from my external windows 8 pro machine using the remote server management tools or would i need to connect that pc
    to the domain.
Things I think i can do but not sure.   as im still learning
Could I setup a server 2012 r2 running AD dns and add the hyper-v role then wihtin that create the rest of the domain inside, allowing me from my other phyical machine log on to domain and manage all servers and machines.
Could I set up as i originally suggested, set up hyper-v 2012 server in a workgroup,  then create the domain within the hyper-v server but still connect from my external pc to manage the hyper-v and all the internal VM's within the domain.
I could run a Domain controller on a VM from my other windows 8 machine (within hyper-v or wmware), then on the 2nd machine install the hyper-v server connect it to the domain running from the other machine from what i can see, many people say this is the
better option, BEST Practice, but this is only a lab and i dont require resilience.  and i would prefer to have my  as a sever manager via the remote tools.
So what i like to know if you can point me in the right direction either by a guide for someone who has setup a similar to me.
or tell which of the above options is possible or not so i dont waste anytime.
Network, i know i can do this virtually but i already have cisco routers and layer 2 swicthes so i may make the network lab via them.
Thanks in advance  for any help you can give me

It makes it easier to set up if everything is in the same domain, but it is quite possible to manage the VMs without being part of the domain.  A very useful tool that I use for my lab all the time (my lab is in a lab domain and my laptop is in the
corporate domain with absolutely no trusts between them) is RDCMAN.
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21101  I all my machines, physical and virtual, defined within RDCMAN and can easily connect to any one of them from my laptop.  But to understand how to manage everything remotely, I create
one virtual workstation within the domain and load all the management tools on it.  I RDP to the management workstation and perform most management functions, but I can get to any machine directly if I need to.

Yes, but you could also build the AD as a VM, too.

  • Hyper-V Replica in the same site

I know it may sound strange and I don't care to illustrate the reasoning behind this but I just want to know if this is technically possible?  I haven't read any restrictions regarding replicating Hyper-V data within the same site but I wanted to
    confirm with the community.

The product has hard-blocks on replicating VMs to the same cluster, but otherwise you should be ok. But I think from a business continuity/VM protection perspective, you should consider replicating to a different site.

  • Can install Hyper-V on Windows 8 OEM?

    Hi,
End User purchased Windows Server 2012 Volume License.
can end user install hyper-v on Windows 8 OEM?
    Looking forward for your reply.
    Thank you in an advance.
    Regards,

    Hello,
Hyper-V related questions should be posted in the Hyper-V forums here:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winserverhyperv/thread
Hyper-V can be installed on Windows 8 Pro, does not matter if Windows 8 Pro is OEM.  Windows 8 does not have the ability to install Hyper-V.

  • Hyper-V Issues

Hello, I seem to be experiencing major issues with Hyper-V on Windows Server 2012. Basically, when I try to add a resource and/or change virtual machine settings in Hyper-V it takes an extremely long time... 30+ minutes to make the change. After a really
long time, the state of the virtual machine changes to Off-Critical. This affects other virtual machines on the same box.
This is a new install of Windows Server 2012 with all updates applied. I've also had the same thing happen when no updates were applied.
According to resource monitor, nothing is being pegged. Disk also looks good. CPU is under 5%. Memory is under 10%. I have no idea what the heck is going on. The only thing that I can think of is that I have recently installed new 128 GB of RAM in this box.
The memory is obviously compatible as I wouldn't be able to boot otherwise.
I have three 3TB SATA disks in Parity mode used to stored all virtual hard disk files.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your VM will go in "Off-Critical" state if the Virtual Machine XML configuration file is not available, which is probably caused by the disk not being available.
Did you check the event viewer / cluster events to see if you have any disk errors?
And do you have the same results on:
    - non-clustered VM
    - clustered VM
    - VM stored on local disk
    - On every host, if you have multiple
Thanks for this information. There are no errors in the Event Viewer with regards to Hyper-V or the physical disk. I am currently running a memory test and then will run a chkdsk on the software RAID.

  • Improve video quality and flip video

    hello-
Here is my issue - I am taking video from an iphone app and I need to put it into another software package - the video is not high enough quality for the analysis I need to do and when it goes in the software it is turned 90 degrees.
    questions
    1) can I use compressor to sharpen the video and decrease the blur? The clips are short about 3-5sec but they are sports clips with quick action hence my blur.
    2) If yes to question 1 - any suggestions on settings?
    3) Any suggestions on how to get the video turned 90 degrees and not decrease quality?
    Thank you

You are mistaking marketing hype for reality. There are no miracles in video, only hacks that lead inexorably to lowered expectations.
Your following post is a quote from the marketing hype for Apple's particular flavor of a standard creative analysis tool, "optical flow." The video must be good before it can be improved. Your video can be run through this tool, give it a try and let us know what happens.
You should look up the definitions of the terms is the product description that you do not understand clearly. Optical flow is available in Motion, too.

  • Can I get Scrabble on my HP Desktop computer - it's on my laptop...

I have a HP Pavilion Desktop Computer with Windows 7 preinstalled on it.  I also have an older HP laptop.  The older laptop has Scrabble on it and the desktop does not.  Is there any way to get Scrabble installed on my Desktop Computer?  I would like to play on the bigger screen.
    Thank you,
    Bonnie

Hello there bkay48!: that depends on
    I. whether or not your HP has Win7 32 or Win7 64 bit because some 32 bit progams refuse to run on 64 bit computers
unless you get either Win 7 Professional or Win 7 Ultimate so that you can run a sub app called XP Mode
unforfunately It's $200 for the upgrade & $400 or more for the full version.
especially if the app in question dates back to Win 3.11 or Windows 95 like half my software stuff
everything worked like a spinning top until I acquired my Pavilion HPE 410y
that's why I think that 64 bit computing is more hype than reality much like the ballyhooed "cloud computing"
regretfully there are no Vista nor Win 7/8 versions of the game
    hope this enlightens you
    good luck
Happy Independence Day to you & your family!

  • FYI basic install issues

Backed up HD using Time Machine. Verified HD using Disk Utility (verify preferences grayed out). Restarted MacBook Pro running 10.5.8 with 90GB remaining on HD. Inserted Snow Leopard with nothing plugged in except the power cord. The install ran for 3.75 hours but did not install. Quit install, ejected DVD, restarted computer, inserted DVD, ran install for 2.5 hours - nothing. Repeated the process and voila - third times a charm - Snow Leopard installed.
NOTES: I always jump on the NEW bandwagon and always feel like a Beta tester. This OS runs slower than the previous version. Font issues, multiple "Software Update" icons on the dock trying to replace and install fonts. Mail doesn't like my mail servers (rebuild), WiFi doesn't recognize my external drives on wake up so need to separately mount them each time the computer goes to sleep. A nuisance! Many third party apps don't respond as quickly as before especially Photoshop CS4 and Lightroom 2. Quicktime is cool!
My opinion: Reviews of Snow Leopard are more hype than reality. It's in Beta stage and I look forward to the next update that will address the clumsy OS Apple just released. Much needed to clean up the whole process from bad installs to slower processing speeds. Nice try Apple but lots of work to be done to make this OS all that the David Pogue lobbyists of the world claim it is . . .

I was a beta tester. I've installed on six different machines over the long period of testing. If this is still beta software then all software is beta software (which may be a true statement.) If you were a beta tester you might have second thoughts about what you wrote.
My longest installation period was 42 minutes. That was an upgrade over a Leopard system. My shortest was a clean install which took 25 minutes. If yours took 3.75 hours it wasn't because of a problem with Snow Leopard. You had a dysfunctional system that you tried to upgrade, and that upgrade failed - not too big a surprise.
I've benchmarked SL against Leo, and for the most part it is faster. Beta testers reported no real problems with Adobe CS3 or CS4.
If you want a better experience I suggest erasing your drive and reinstalling SL from scratch. Then come back and tell us how bad it is.

  • Why 64 bit?

Is there any particular advantage 64 bit has over 32 or is it just hype? Thanks!
    Finley

A 64 bit system can address more RAM. That's great for desktops, for which RAM is pretty cheap. I've got 5 GB RAM in my PowerMac G5 dual core and could add more if I need it.
I wish I had more RAM on my MacBook Pro. But with the limited space available that would probably require installing 2 GB RAM sticks, which if available would be horrible expensive. So, at the moment, that advantage for 64-bit isn't all that relevant.
Another advantage of 64-bit is a wider data path, meaning potential processing of more data per time unit. That's going to become very important for lots of programs in the future. But as a practical matter, except for scientific software, most software hasn't been tweaked for 64-bit processing.
For most people, right now, 64-bit is more hype than reality. For some people, with the right software, it does have real advantages. And it will become more important as time goes by.
Fortunately, Apple lets one run 32 and 64 bit applications side by side, and 32 bit applications will be around for a while, maybe a pretty long while.

  • IPhone 4s WiFi not available?

Why is my iPhone telling me that my wifi is not available.
My Bluetooth is still searching. 2 weeks now.
I just updated to IOS 7.1.2

No, the fault is not detected by the 'new software'.  Search this forum.  This issue has been reported on a small percentage of iPhone 4S units for a very long time.  All the way back to iOS 5.  There were people on this very forum, back in late 2011 (two years before iOS 7 came out), reporting greyed-out wi-fi on iPhone 4S units back then.
This hardware issue is resolved under warranty, as any other hardware issue is resolved.  That's one year from date of purchase, or two years from date of purchase if the AppleCare Protection Plan was purchased for the device.
As far as me 'blindly believing Apple', um... no.  I've criticized Apple in the past for certain issues.  But I deal in facts, not emotions, when it comes to technical issues.
And it's clear that I've 'gone out there and found out more about the issue'.  Feel free to research this very forum for more information.
You've obviously got an axe to grind against Apple.  Why else would you reply to a post that is 9 months old?  And I see you've spread the same misinformation elsewhere.
It's not iOS 7.  It wasn't iOS 6.  It wasn't iOS 5.  It's the defective hardware.  It is 'revealed' when the processor generates more heat than the wi-fi chip can tolerate.  Sometimes the wi-fi chip is permanently damaged.  Other times it is 'partially damaged', which is when these home-brewed fixes work.
Do I personally think Apple should offer some type of program for iPhone 4S customers that experience this issue and are outside of warranty?  Yes, I've said so in the past.  But this forum is for technical assistance, regarding the facts and reality of the current situation; it's not for speculation.  Use www.apple.com/feedback to give feedback to Apple regarding their policies.  That's the appropriate place; not this forum.
As I posted:  Use the articles I provided to troubleshoot the issue.  If the issue persists, get the device serviced.
No one is trying to hide anything.  There's nothing to hide.  It's a technical issue with hardware.  The articles on how to address the issue have been posted.  And I don't have to 'follow you' when you're bumping old threads with incorrect information and propoganda.
