kumar

Hi,
Go to System Administration -> System Configuration -> System Landscape -> Right click on any folder -> Create -> System. Refer  to this online help to create a system : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/ec/0fe43d19734b5ae10000000a11405a/content.htm
In the last step, select the checkbox "open for editing". This is how you can edit you system properties: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/42/11e43d19734b5ae10000000a11405a/content.htm
Now,when you right click on this system created -> Open ->System Alias. You can create a system alias here. Refer to this section of online documentation : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/e9/9bc93f92908032e10000000a11405a/content.htm
Hope this helps.

  • ESS Configure steps in ECC 6.0

    Hello ESS experts,
    I am working on Functional ESS upgrade from 4.6c to ECC 6.0 (EP 7.0). We have installed all the required BSP's. Our company want to keep all the functionalities as they used in 4.6c ESS in Portal, from 46c to ECC 6.0 there is bit difference in IMG configure. Can anyone advise me how should I follow from backend R/3 to configure in IMG as per ESS requirement. Is I need to configure whole ESS configuration in ECC 6.0 in order to get those functionalities. I am comparing 46c staging to ECC 6.0 to make some analysis. Any upgrade documents.

  • Need Information Regarding  ESS/MSS?

    Hi All,
    I am Having Doubts Regarding ESS?
    In Ess it contains Different Tasks.
    ->Befenits & Payment
    ->Career job
    ->Employee Search
    ->Personal Information
    ->Travel management
    ->Corporate Inf
    ->Life & Work Events
    These Tasks Comes Under one WebdynproIvew or Different WebDynproIvews?
    In WebdynproIvews I Have to Write Webdynpro Code for Search,Edit and Submit.For this I Need Webdynpro Code.Plz send me the Code?
    Reply ASAP.
    Regards
    Kiran

    Hi Kiran,
    There is no need to develop iViews for ESS. ESS comes with all iViews, pages, and roles provided by SAP. All you need to do is assign the ESS role to the end user.
    Firstly answer these questions:-
    1) Why do you need to develop WebDynpro iViews for ESS?
    2) Have you already downloaded ESS Business Package and using it?
    3) Have you got the NWDI installed?
    4) Have you got NetWeaver Developer Studio installed?
    If you can manage to answer these questions clearly, I hope someone might be able to help you?
    Assign Points if you find this helpful!!!
    Kind Regards,
    Gopal.

  • Query regarding Mobility configuration

    Hi All,
    I have some queries regarding mobility configuration. I have to two WLC's; one Cisco 5508 & another Cisco 4402. My queries are:
    1. I have configured both the WLC's in same Mobility domain & same Mobility group but with different Management IP segment. Will they be considered within the same mobility group or they will work as if they are the part of different mobility group?
    2. Currently I have 100 AP license on WLC 5508 & 50 AP license on 4402. I am having more than 50 AP's in  my network & all are registered with WLC 5508 since it is the primary. I want only selected 50 AP's to register with WLC 4402 in case WLC 5508 goes down. Is there any way I can achieve this?
    Regards,
    Shahab

    1. I have configured both the WLC's in same Mobility domain & same Mobility group but with different Management IP segment. Will they be considered within the same mobility group or they will work as if they are the part of different mobility group?
    Yes... As long as there is connectivity between the two WLC and the ports udp 16666 and IP97, the mobility should be up.
    Depending on the code in the WLC, you can set the priority to the AP in the high availability. So the 50 AP's you can set them higher than the other 5.

  • SAP ESS Configuration Problem

    Hello ,
       I have made a Leave request workflow. I tried to execute the "Leave Request : Check" which comes under the SPRO t-code
       { IMG -> Personnel Mgmt -> ESS -> Service Specific Setting -> Working Time -> Leave Request -> Processing Processess -> Define Report Variants and Bakgrnd Processing}.
    After I execute my workflow , I want to see the requests made by certain holders , in "Leave Request : Check" . But I see the screen blank when I execute by entering a specific Personel number. am I missing a part in the ess configuration ? Please help ....

    how did you create the leave for the employees ? By just triggering the workflow manually? Because that is not going to work. You have to trigger them from the portal or via the test application in transaction PTARQ

  • How to change the portal user id 's assigned employee in ESS configuration

    Hello Gurus,
        I now have a question related to ESS configuration. I want to know how to change the Portal user's pernr assignment in the ECC 6.0 system. Somebody had actually assigned my portal user ID a PERNR in the ECC 6.0 system. But now, for test purposes, I want to change the PERNR assignment to something else for my portal user id.
    Could any of you please guide me in doing these steps?
    Points will definitely be awarded for helpful answers.
    Thanks gurus in advance for your help.
    ~~LB

    Hi Leena,
    You can create a new user name with the username and password assigned to it, with the transaction SU01.
    Ex : ESS_USER1
    Go to transaction code : PA30.
    Enter the pernr you want to assign to the user ESS_USER1 that you have created earlier.
    Enter infotype number : 105
    Now go ahead and click on the change button.
    And assign the user name as ESS_USER1.
    Then the pernr number will be assigned to the ESS_USER1 that you have created.
    You can check the same when you go to the HRUSER transaction code.
    Please let me know if you still have any issues on the same.
    Cheers.

  • Regarding ESS Addresses application

    Hi,
    We are using EP 7.0 and implemented ESS/MSS.
    Now they have activated Com01, Num01 fields of Infotype 6(Adresses).
    But these fields are not visible in the Addresses application of ESS.
    For example if I add these entries in Permanent address type, these fields are not displayed in Portal,
    Is there any configuration available in the ECC to make these fields visible in portal ESS application also since these fields are standard or do we need to go for customization.
    Any idea on this will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Vivek.

    Hi,
    In order to add the required fields in the ESS Addresses application,  we need to add those fields in the following structure of the country specific function module HRXSS_PER_EDIT_P0006_XX where XX u2013 defines the country code(say de- germany, fr-france)
    Structure: HCMT_BSP_PA_XX_R0006  where again XX u2013 defines the country code
    After changing the structure you need to restart the portal for this to reflect and use the below mentioned link.
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?spaceKey=profile&title=ESSPersonalInformationUIenhancementwithoutmodification&decorator=printable
    After that you need to enhance the BADI   HRPAD00INFTYUI   for the input conversion ans output conversion.
    Please let me know for further clarification.
    Regards,
    Vivek,

    We have ECC 6.0 with EA-HR SP03 and XSS SP6.
                The following JCO connections are all setup to ECC 6.0 back end and  are pinging and tested successfully, even though not all are required.

            WD_RSDAS_RFC_METADATA_DEST.
    The System Aliases  SAP_ECC_HumanResources and SAP_WebDynpro_XSS are defined with WAS properties.
               There are no authorization issues as the user is SAP_ALL at ECC and superuser at the portal.
    Employee search and Maintain own data  services are working fine with default settings.

    Hi Sandeep,
    Thanks for quick response.
    I know how to add a user to HR user.
    However "testess" user is only for JCO connection, it will not be used for any ESS functionality.
    If i assign this user HR user, then how  other user would be able to access there data.
    Thanks
