Regarding exclude selection

Hi All,
I have a reporting requirement in which the variable's entries should not have an option of not assigned....since, already i hv restricted it with the variable,its not allowin me to restrict again for making it"exclude selection"...wat shud i do??plz guide me...

Hi,
I also faced similar condition but we cant restrict like that since the values displayed in selection screen i.e. F4 help will be either from master data or from the data in the DSO or Cube or Info provider on which query is.
So you cant hide in F4 help.
Excluding in the characteristic actually excludes the # values while selecting from infoprovider.

Issue with Exclude Selection in Bex

Hi all,
 I have created a query to display the Top 10 Customers.
Here I have excluded all the customers apart from the Top 10 since they differ
based on different regions. There are 4 different regions and the customers differ
for all of them. Here the issue being I dont get the exact percentage of Orders and
Sales because of these excluded values. Here I cant use include selection since i
need different top 10 customers for the 4 regions.
 How to compute percentage with Exclude Selection? Could anybody help?

 I have my Orders, Sales, percentage calculations in columns and the excluded
Top 10 customers in rows. I get the individual percentage values for each customer.
My scenario being :
Orders 06 : Values computed with Calculate Result as Summation - Properties.
Orders 07 : Values computed with Calculate Result as Summation - Properties.
Orders % : Here I have given Calculated Result as Nothing - properties.
 I get the individual percentages say :
 Orders 06 Orders 07 Percentage
Customer 1 : 12.1 91.2 75.5
Customer 2 : 7.6 7.9 104.3

Overall Result: 19.7 99.1 Wrong Value
 Considering the above example, total percantage is computed wrongly. The excluded value's total is not considered at all. Can you now give me your suggestion?

Exclude Selection in Transformation File

Hi ,
I have a need of excluding selection in transformation file. I can use SELECTION for individual values in my transformation file succesfully.
(eg. SELECTION = 0MATL_GROUP,A100;0MATL_GROUP;A200 )
But is there any functionality in SELECTION to exclude values ?
Something like,( just imagining ) SELECTION = 0MATL_GROUP, (not equal) B100.
Any ideas for that ? Or do i have to write all single values (approximetly 131 members) to SELECTION , instead of excluding 1 member ?

Thanks it was an helpful answer. I read the documentation. And i would like to ask you, what if a string is used for both infoobjects.
E.g, I dont want to take 0MATL_GROUPS beginnig with 130. But I have customer numbers begginig with 130 also.
So it will not take those customers either ?

Exclude selections not working on virtual infoprovider

Hi,
I have a Bex report which is based on virtual infoprovider. This virtual infoprovider have load structure of BW Datasource -> IP (PSA) -> DTP
Infopackage runs every night in FULL mode and brings in latest data in PSA, and whenever report is executed, inturn DTP is executed in background to fetch data at runtime. Query works fine when run open or with INCLUDE selections on variable screen. But whenever it is run with EXCLUDE selections on variable screen, it gives below error -
- Error reading the data of InfoProvider
- Invalid selection condition in the data request
- Error in substep
Is there any restriction using virtual infoprovider like you cannot query with exclude selections? I also tried running report with "<> 10" selection on variable screen but still get same error. Any ideas on this?

I'm skimming so may be missing something.
You can have session persistence using IP affinity, but depending on what you want to publish and achieve you may need to inspect the traffic on the LB. I was curious as it adds a bit more complexity.
And is Outlook 2010 upto date? What is the exact build string on a client that is getting the prompt please? This is a person bugbear of mine:

Exclude selection parameters in infopackage

Hi guys!
I've been asked to create an InfoPackage to extract "all product types except <specific type>".
If I were in an R/3 Abap Report, it would be easily achieven by passing an 'E' in the "sign" field of the corresponding select-option. But since I'm to do this in an InfoPackage, I don't know what to do.
I tried by using an abap routine in the InfoPackage, but i get the message:
For sel. field 'PRDHA', no selection with SIGN = 'E'; OPTION 'EQ' allowed
Does anyone know a way to do an exclusion parameter in an InfoPackage? Thanks!

Hi.
You can exclude values by including all the values around the ones you dont want:
Let's say you don't want types 103 and 506. In your infopackage, input three intervals:
001-102
104-505
507-999
You can add more rows for your product type selection by hitting the "insert duplicate row" button, next to the check-button on the bottom left corner.

I was testing a report for the BI team and ran analysis in RSECADMIN. i was surprised to see that one of the authorization errors was charecteristic (attribute level) 0sales_off is being checked for "not equal to" for value BEA (sales office value). It should actually be checking (including) for that value (not excluding).
So does this mean the query has an exlcude selection in the definition..
more over it tried to use an exclude authorization (E EQ <value>) in RSECADMIN--> authorization maintenance for the charecteristic 0sales_off but the column for include / exclude is greyed out. It does not allow me to select "E" instead of "I".
Any suggestions?

If the trace is showing that query is checking for EXCLUDING value BEA, then check the query in query designer to see how actually query is designed.

Are you trying to update an existing AA Object ? Then try removing the entry which is for I and then add a new entry for E. I guess you are trying to make that query run and hence you attempted to update the AA object.

Regarding at selection screen event

hi experts,
i m working on hr abap report with the help of pnp ldb i made my selection screen using report category 'PY_DEF' now what i want that i m not using the first selction screen which contains current period details etc but when i click on the payroll period button the second selection screen is coming no doubt... containing payroll area current period ,other periods etc here i m entering payroll area eq 'ka' and other periods from '012006' to '122006' ,,here i want to validate the user input that it sud be of one year that is from 1 to 12.....for this i know i will use at selection event but how can i use it for the second selection screen not for first screen......... plz help me....

Do u realy need the first selection screen having the current period? If u don't need then u can hide the field in the report category, by passing only the payroll area with other period, in this case we can validate through selection screen..

Regarding the select-options on the selection screen

In select-options the low and high fileds must be displayed in the following explained manner...
How to get the low field value as 1000 (default) and it must be in display mode (not possible to change the value) and high field must be empty and it has to allow us to enter the value.
How to get this....?

I have a select query as follows:

Now suppose the it1-field1 contains values a,b and c.
Now I want to select fields a,b and c from another db table db2.
Instead of hard coding like this:
select a b c from db2 into table it2.....
How can I do this?

Hi Soumya ,
Pleas use FOR ALL ENTRIES syntax , in this way you can select the records from db2 which are available or selected in db1.
Like Header And Item table.
You select records frm header table . then for corres ponding header records you select from detail table db2 .....
Condition is the field containg a,b,c is key field in both tables ...

Urgent: regarding sub select statement

I making a report in which i have to display the STOCK and i want to do the sum in a select statement of the value coming from the field AFRU-GMNGA so that i can do calculation of the value of 1st field to be subtracted from the last value of the same field .

Regarding at Selection-Screen

In the selection-screen, i have 2 radiobuttons .
parameters : rb1 radiobutton group g2 ,
             rb2 radiobutton group g2 .
and 4 input fields.
SELECT-OPTIONS : S_MATNR FOR MARA-MATNR. " OBLIGATORY.
SELECT-OPTIONS : S_MTART FOR MARA-MTART NO INTERVALS NO-EXTENSION.
SELECT-OPTIONS : S_WERKS FOR MARA-MATNR NO INTERVALS NO-EXTENSION.
parameters : lifnr like lfa1-lifnr .
Now my requirement is when i execute the report by default the 1st radiobutton is selected. For this radiobutton,
i want to display only the first 3 select-options. And when the user clicks on the second radiobutton,
the parameter LIFNR should appear without pressing enter button. Again when the user clicks on
1st radiobutton the parameter field LIFNr should not appear.
Please can anybod yrpovide the code.

At selection-screen on FIELD
          Will give work like: If given input is wrong then it will give the Error message and all other fields will be diasable except the entered wrong on At selection-screen on FIELD.
until you give the right input it won't go for next At Selection-screen On FILED.
If you Don't want to disable other fields Use ONLY AT SELECTION-SCREEN.
