Regarding File to JDBC/MS Access database

Hi all,
I am trying to insert some values in to MS access database table.I kept the .mdb file in the local PI folder.I am getting connection error
com.sap.aii.af.service.util.concurrent.ResourcePoolException: Unable to create new pooled resource: DriverManagerException: Cannot establish connection to URL 'jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=//test/data/input/Employee.mbd': SAPClassNotFoundException: jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver
i have given the configuration as:
JDBC Driver:   jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver
Connection:  jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=//test/data/input/Employee.mbd
Please give me some pointers.
Regards,
Anika

Hi Anika,
Also please check for :
You can set the configuration as following:-
JDBC Driver : sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver
Connection : jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ= Full Path of DB file;
eg of full path:D:\USERS\Employee\employee.mdb
Please go through these steps: (Assuming you are working on Windows)
1) An ODBC driver for your database must be installed on the Windows computer running the application server.
Check if there's an ODBC driver for MS Acess on the application Server.
2) To connect through an ODBC driver, you must install the Sun JDBC-ODBC Bridge driver on the Windows computer running the application server. The driver comes with the Sun Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition, for Windows.
Also there is another point.
sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver
This driver is a part of the JDK kit and so, you need not install the driver on your XI server. Check the SAP Note JDBC FAQ for this info.
3)Define a DSN on the Windows system hosting your application server.
4)These parameters you need to give while configuring the JDBC receiver adapter channel

  • Regarding File 2  JDBC Scenario

    Hi Friends,
                  can anybody help me on file 2 jdbc scenario. here my input file is not picked but in moni it is showing black flag. and in message monitoring in adapter engine sender side interface status is successful but receiver side interface status is waiting and i am not getting the output in my database table.please help me one this issue

    Hi Uday
    Kindly check your server and port whether they are up
    go to transaction SM49 and click on PING then in the next string give your server and port address and press F8
    you will get the actual status of your server
    also
    You have to deploy the required JDBC drivers for the database before making connection. Ask the database provider or your vendor for the divers. That should be deployed using SDM tool
    Start visual admin of XI and select service "Deploy" and then select option "Deploy and start" to select file and deploy it
    now here is the steps to deploy this module.
    How to deploy adapter module in production
    Three option available:
    1. Using SDM
    2. Using Visual Admin
    3. Using NW development studio (Not available for Production)
    We will use Visual Admin “Deploy” deploy service to deploy EAR file of adapter module.
    Steps:
    1. Goto VM->Deploy service
    2. Select option “Deploy and start”
    3. Select EAR file provided for deployment
    4. Restart the service.
    5. Done
    follow this guide

    I want to save a picture file,such example.jpg file into a Microsoft Access Database in JSP,anybody know how to save picture file into Microsoft Access Database and read this picture file from Microsoft Access Database and then show this picture in a JSP page?
    Thanks in advance.

    Not posible in case of Microsoft Access ..
    You will hv to use oracle for that ....

  • Migrating multiple access databases to 9i

    I have generated several xml files using omwb exporter, from several individual access mdb files. All the access databases have identical structures. But each time I go into omwb and create a source database from an xml file, the previous source disappears and is replaced by the one I just generated. The FAQs say that all sources should appear, but be identical apart from the path. What am I doing wrong?

    I forgot to mention Andy,
    That one thing I did was to go ahead and migrate my first database to oracle. After that migration was completed, I restarted the migration process for my second database (which was named the same name as the first database in order to have it go to the same user/tablespace).
    There were obvious errors since the migration was trying to create the same user and tablespace that already exist because of the first migration. I had to abort the migration while the data was being transferred because the migration workbench was just hanging.
    I did check however and the database tables WERE created under the same user and tablespace, but WITHOUT the data. I'm sure I could go in and simply migrate the tables data but there should be an easier mechanism!
    I'm thinking that each database will have to be migrated to a different username/tablespaces for now.

  • Accessing MS Access Database file from Sender JDBC in PI 7.1

    Dear Experts,
    I am on SAP PI 7.1 SP00. PI Server is installed on LINUX Server.
    I am doing an scenario, where i am going to process the .mdb file through Sender JDBC Communication channel . I have put .mdf file in FTP server.
    When I check in communication channel Monitoring getting below error :
    Error during database connection to the database URL 'jdbc:odbc:Driver={Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=//pi_integ/abc.mdb' using the JDBC driver 'jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver': 'com.sap.aii.adapter.jdbc.sql.DriverManagerException: Can not establish connection:: SQLException: [unixODBC][Driver Manager]Data source name not found, and no default driver specified'
    I have seen many blog, but I am helpless. Could you kindly provide your suggestions.
    Really appreciated your efforts and your valuable time.

    To connect to an Access Database, I create an ODBC data source and use the "sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver".

  • Creating a new access database using JDBC

    Hi Forum,
    I have a problem in hand. Let me describe the problem:
    I want to create an "access database" from java at runtime. "Access database" is file based, so for a database named test, it will have a file test.mdb.
    Now, everything's sweet and wonderful, if somebody creates an "empty access database" at the client machine and i then connect to it and create the tables i require.
    But the issue is i want to create the database at runtime (the database name and tables are determined at runtime).
    Using the JDBC:ODBC bridge driver , i am able to connect to an existing database, but any "create database" statements are not supported.
    A last ditch solution would be that i create an empty database using access and copy the file contents in the SQL server database as a a blob object. Then when i want to create a new access database at runtime, i create a file in a particular folder , with an .mdb
    extension, copy the file contents from the SQL server (i also have an SQL server connection) BLOB object, and then try to connect to the
    .mdb file.
    But this approach seems a "quick hack" and can have problems (which i can't see as of now).
    Can you suggest a better alternative for the problem.
    See the Java Sun forum at this address for a discussion of a similar problem, but sadly with no solution.
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=31&threadID=484731

    I have an applet that was previously connected to Oracle 9i. I am faced with connecting to MS Access temporarily for testing purposes.
    I have been unable to successfully code connection in java. I have set up the DSN and can access in SQL Worksheet in JDev.
    I saw your question regarding creating an access db, and thought you might be so kind as to help me code the connection to access!!!!
    Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. I have a huge application to finish with alot of sqlj already completed. Connectivity is not my area of expertise!
    Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!!!
    I am not sure if I have to use bridge? Am I progressing in right direction to migrating to SQL Server if need be?

  • Regarding MS Access Database details....

    Hi,
           I am working on RFC to JDBC interface. Currently my Database tables are not created, so planning to do testing on MS Access database. While creating JDBC communication channel, it is asking JDBC driver and Connection details. Could you please provide me the above said details.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
      sai.

    Hi,
    For JDBC you first need to install the JDBC drivers on XI:
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/3867a582-0401-0010-6cbf-9644e49f1a10
    Search on SDN with JDBC adapter will give you the details of the parameter.
    Refer the below web log:

              Internally, it works like this: AudioSystem.write()
             contains a loop that is trying to read from the passed
             AudioInputStream. Since there is a special AudioInputStream
             that gets data from a TargetDataLine, reading from the
             AudioInputStream leads to reading from the TargetDataLine. The
             data read this way is then written to the passed File. Before
             writing of audio data starts, a header is written according
             to the desired audio file type. Reading continues until no
             more data can be read from the AudioInputStream. In this case,
             it happens if no more data can be read from the TargetDataLine.
             This happens if the TargetDataLine is stopped. Then,
             the file is closed and 'AudioSystem.write()' returns.

    Hi
    I Learned how to read a file text and Parse as StringTokenizer. But still i don't know how to read the Individual tokens into to database.
    But now i face a new Problem, i am not able to sort it out.
    i am posting my code
    import java.io.FileReader;
    import java.io.FileWriter;
    import java.io.BufferedReader;
    import java.io.PrintWriter;
    import java.io.IOException;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public class CSVExample {
        public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException {
            BufferedReader inputStream = null;
            PrintWriter outputStream = null;
            try {
                inputStream = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("file.csv"));
              String text;
                 while((text=inputStream.readLine())!= null)
                    StringTokenizer st = new StringTokenizer(text);
                         if(st.hasMoreTokens())
                        System.out.println(st.nextToken());
            } finally {
                if (inputStream != null) {
                    inputStream.close();
    }Here the Problem is The file.csv has got two fields ID, NAME The content of this file is as follows
    T12,MR.RAJ KUMAR
    T13,MR.EARNEST DIES
    T14,MR.MATHEW HYDEN
    Now when i StringTokenize this File The Output printed as follows
    T12,MR.RAJ
    T13,MR.EARNEST
    T14,MR.MATHEW
    That means when it finds the Space it is not printing the Remaining Text.
    Please Help me in this and then Tell me how to INSER The Tokens into the Database Table
    Thank you for your service
    Cheers

  • Size limit of access database with image files stored outside database

    I have read 2GB limit on size of Access database.  We are using Access 2013 database with fields that are data type attachment and storing attached images outside the database.  Does the size of the folder that is holding these images count
    in any way toward 2GB size limit?

    Hi,
    As far as I know, Access database limit size 2GB based on itself, not related to the folder size.  Attachment data
    type is similar to attaching files to e-mail messages. We need to control the Access database size is smaller then 2GB.
    When a field is defined with the attachment data type, you can store one or more files for each record in it.
    Attachments can dramatically increase the size of the database, but since the attached file is stored as a part of the dabatbase, you are not dependent on network drives being available as you would be if you inculded a hyperlink to the file. As a matter of
    fact, feel free to backup the origainal file to other disk after you attach it to the database.

  • Why is the Microsoft Office Access Database Engine data source looking for a workgroup information file?

    While trying to import to MSSQL2012 from SSDT using the wizard from an Access 2013 DB (.accdb) which is password protected, I get the following error with the username blank and the password field correctly populated:
    Cannot start your application. The workgroup information file is missing or opened exclusively by another user. (MicrosoftOffice Access Database Engine)
    But according to this link:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/access-help/what-happened-to-user-level-security-HA010342116.aspx
    MSA10 and beyond shouldn't need workgroup information files, although it's not clear to me if they are
    created/used or not.
    I can point the wizard to some local version of system.mdw at Advanced -> All -> Jet OLEDB:System Database, and then the error becomes:
    Not a valid account name or password. (Microsoft Office Access Database Engine)
    for any username I can think of.
    Questions:
    1.  Why does this data source insist on looking for a workgroup information file even though user-level security should be disabled?
    2.  Why does the Open dialog box for the Microsoft Access Database Engine have *.mdb as the only selectable filetype?
    3.  How can I get around these errors for an .accdb that is password protected?
    Thanks!

    Hi JordanPG,
    To connect to Access 2007 or later database, we need the Microsoft ACE 12.0 OLE DB driver. SQL Server only installs the Microsoft Jet 4.0 OLE DB driver which can be used to connect to Access 2003 or earlier database. Besides, the Microsoft Jet 4.0 OLE DB
    driver only has 32-bit version, but the Microsoft ACE 12.0 OLE DB driver has both 32-bit and 64-bit version. However, the 32-bit and 64-bit Microsoft ACE 12.0 OLE DB drivers cannot be installed on a single server.
    According to your description, you can use the 64-bit SQL Server Import and Export Wizard to load data from the Access database, so the 64-bit Microsoft ACE 12.0 OLE DB driver is installed on your computer. Since the BIDS/SSDT is a 32-bit application, the
    64-bit Microsoft ACE 12.0 OLE DB Provider is not visible in BIDS/SSDT. So, when you said that you select “Microsoft Access (Microsoft Access Database Engine)" in the SQL Server Import and Export Wizard (it is actually the 32-bit version) started by the SSDT,
    I think it should be “Microsoft Access (Microsoft Jet Database Engine)”. Because the Microsoft Jet 4.0 OLE DB driver only supports Access 2003 or earlier format, it threw the error “Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. Unrecognized
    database format 'C:\myDB.accdb'”.
    In this situation, you have two approaches to avoid this issue:
    Launch the SQL Server Import and Export Wizard (64-bit), and select “Save SSIS Package” to “File System” on the “Save and Run Package” page. Then, the package will be saved to a specified directory. After that, you can add this existing package to a SSIS
    project. The status of the corresponding OLE DB Connection Manager should be Work Offline, or the OLE DB Source will throw an error about 32-bit driver if the Connection Manager is not in Work Offline status, you can ignore that and the package can run successfully
    in SSDT as long as the project is set to run in 64-bit runtime mode.
    However, for the SSDT 2012 integrated with Visual Studio 2012, the 64-bit runtime mode is disabled. In this situation, to run the package in SSDT, you have to uninstall the 64-bit Microsoft ACE 12.0 OLE DB drivers and install the 32-bit one. Here is the
    download link:

  • Insert Image file from java to ms access database

    Are there any ways to insert image file or any files into microsoft access database and retrieve the file from the database. Guild will be helpful.Thank you.
    regards
    Singaravelan

    The right answer? Don't do it. You should not be putting images in any database.
    Better to write the image to the server's file system and add the path/link to the database instead.

  • Restoring an ms access database backup file in sql server 2005

    Hello everyone.
    I have an ms access database backup file.
    Presently i dont have ms access database in  my system.
    It is high priority to access that ms access database backup file.
    So, is there anyway to access that in sql server?
    -- Thanks and Regards Srikar Reddy Gondesi, Trainee SQL Server Database Administrator Miracle Software systems, Inc.

    Hello sir,
    i tried to use import/export wizard to import data from an ms access backup file.
    I completed it with some warning's.
    Wizard has shown that 2 out of three objects(tables and views) are copied to destination database(empty database which i have created for storing this imported data).
    And in that process, wizard made me to create a package.
    Now how to access that package?
    And my newly created database has no data.(i mean it is supposed to have 2 objects which are copied from source right?)
    Sorry if my doubt looks silly i have never used ssis or import/export ever before.

  • [JDBC][ODBC] How to compact access database from Java ?

    Hello,
    I'm developping a java applcation wich is connected to an MS Access file database.
    For now, I don'y compact it but it would be better.
    So How can I compact an access database from Java ?
    thanks :)

    Hi ypiel,
    Try this:
    1) Download JETCOMP.exe (freeware from Microsoft);
    2) Put the following code in your app (assuming your database file name is: "DB.mdb"):
    try {
    File current = new File("DB.mdb");
    File backup = new File("BACKUP.mdb");
    if (current.renameTo(backup)) {
    Runtime.getRuntime().exec("jetcomp -src:BACKUP.mdb -dest:DB.mdb");
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println(e.getMessage());
    Best regards,
