Regarding Go Green Eat Fresh tutorial

Okay, so I was going through the above tutorial and was building the portal in my home. I had no problems until I landed on this chapter 'Connecting to and Managing Content
Repositories', where I have to create a content repository connection.
Now I read that I have to install the entire UCM, which is of around 3GB, and then this Oracle WebLogic Server 10.3.5.
Is it possible of not installing the above things and finish the entire tutorial? I mean some shortcut or say some dummy kind of connection. I just have a laptop with a 3GB RAM, and I really don't think its a good idea of installing the entire suite.

AFAIK WebCenter Portal uses RIDC, a Java API, to call some services, among them those bound to folders(collections). Some functionality would be available via JCR170, some via CMIS, but I am not aware of anyone knowing where the boundary really goes.
Btw. a similar issue will be met if you want to work with workflows - you will need a BPEL server.

Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
* Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in Private Browsing mode.

How to keyout harsh shadows from green screen footage tutorial

Hello!!
I have shot a green screen footage outdoors an two clips where shot with the sun making some very harsh shadows that are impossible to key out. I am attaching two photos so that you can see what I mean. I there any other way to go around this problem without rotoscoping because unfortunately it' s not an option for me to reshoot the scene. Maybe lume key could help but I am not sure...
Any suggestion would be appreciated!! The first image is the original one. The second is with Keylight only and the third is with Keylight and Luma Key together...

Duplicate your layer, key once for the light green, key a second time for the dark green, Output the mattes and combine them to create the final matte. Pre-comp the two shots and use as a garbage matte for the final key by adding a matte choker and making the pre-comp a track matte for your final key.
There are a zillion other ways but Here's what the combined matte looks like from your screenshot.

Not able to access a file referenced from a HTML file

Using UCM i am checking two files aboutus.html and aboutusBanner.png in About Us FOLDER.Checkin is happening perfectly well.
Now In JDEVELOPER I am creating a webcenter application (named MyPortalApplication) and accessing those file using a connection to the UCM server.I am able to fetch the files under
Application Resouces->Connection ->Content Repository ->UCM ->Contribution Folder ->About Us
UCM I am using a connection name.
My aboutus.html file in accessing the aboutusBanner.png to display some image.

But when i am running the application that banner image (aboutusBanner.png) is not getting displayed.I think i am not giving the path aboutusBanner.png in aboutus.html correctly.
Please suggest me how my aboutus.html should use the aboutusBanner.png in code given above.

If you want to create a reference to a file in UCM (document repository), you need to do it differently. The easiest way (if your file is in Public security group) is to use html link to the file: e.g. http://{serverURL}/{instance name}/groups/public/documents/graphic/oly_088631.jpg (search for the file in UCM and copy the link from the search result dialog).
A better way is to use SSXA - see this manual http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17904_01/doc.1111/e13650/toc.htm - when your html will be constructed from a template and the image will be defined through a placeholder (you will learn to use placeholders in Chapter 3 of the manual). Since PS3, SSXA should be usable for Webcenter pages.

Status flag green for asyncronous scenarios

In my practice system, I have changed the date( before 2 weeks). then all asynchronous scenarios have not been working. If i checked status flag it was showing in SXMB_MONI as green flag.
Please help me from this problem.

Green is Shceduled for Procesing.
There are message stuck in the Queue.
Go to the Queie Id of the message in MONi, click on it and navigate to the last entry and delete the message that is holding the queue.
Now, deactivate / delete the queue and activate it again and restart these messages.

Quicktime 6 & 7 Green Screen ???

On my notebook, when I try to play a quicktime Movie, the movie starts to play and then a green screen gradually covers the quicktime window until the whole movie is just a green screen ?
I have just installed the new Quicktime 7 (part of the iTunes download) and the problem still persists.
The same movies play fine on my Desktop PC (also with quicktime 7). I have found that the movie has been encoded with the H264 codec (for the iPod). Has this anything to do with it. It plays fine on the iPOD as well ?
Anyone have any ideas please ???

A green window usually points to the video card or its drivers. Driver updates may help but it could also be your video card is failing.

Laptop showing green screen on startup and login

I keep getting a green screen and my laptop is green. Some help to why this is happening as when I sign in its green as well. One day it was fine now green plus I tried repairing it and no luck. I have a hp touch smart tm2. If I can post a picture I will try.

I saw your post regarding the green screen you are getting with your laptop and I will be happy to help. Besides the green screen does it look like everything is normal on the screen or you are getting an error message? It could be a problem with the actual display screen. Do you have an external monitor that you can connect to the laptop? If you do and the monitor is getting the green screen then we know it is a driver issue but if doesn't happen then we know it is a hardware failure. What operating system are you using? What is the product number for your TouchSmart?

GeoRaptor 3.2.1 Released for SQL Developer 3.x

After 6 months of development and testing, GeoRaptor 3.2.1 has been released for SQL Developer 3.x (tested on 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2). This release no longer supports SQL Developer 1.x or 2.x releases due to internal changes to the SQL Developer APIs.
GeoRaptor can be downloaded from the GeoRaptor project's sourceforge page: http://sourceforge.net/projects/georaptor and installed via Help>Check for Updates>Install from Local File. Installation via SQL Developer's update mechanism should be available soon.
The release notes for this release are:
* Fixed issues with validate geometry functionality in particular the update dialog box.
* Revamped "About GeoRaptor" form. Includes clickable URLs, links to mailing lists, version number listing, thanks to testers etc.
* Placed "About GeoRaptor" icon on GeoRaptor's map toolbar.
* SQL Developer NLS settings accessed: improvements in the display and entry and numeric data.
-- Tolerances in Spatial Layer properties will display with the NLS decimal separator eg 0,05.
 Some parts of GeoRaptor such as Validation that show and accept numbers have not been changed from when someone else modified the code.
 If you double click on the left MBR/right MBR icon in the map at the bottom, the current centre position will display according to the NLS settings.
 Editing the value to jump the map to that point works even with grouping separators and decimal separators being commas!
* Spatial Layer Draw has been modified to use NLS based decimal formatting.
* New geometry marking/labelling options have been added. In particular you can now label the vertices of a linestring/polygon with the following additional elements:
-- Cumulative length
-- Measure (M)
-- Z value
-- Labelling of vertices with <id>{X,Y} now also honours 3/4D geometries. If geometry has XYY then it will be labelled as {X,Y,Z} etc.

 If it is ticked a number will be formatted with the thousands separator in Tools>Database>NLS eg 10000.000 will display as 10,000.000.
* Sdo_Geometry display of all spaces in text between elements of the sdo_geometry array have been removed.
 This was done mainly to compact the sdo_geometry strings so that they are as small as possible when displaying or copying to clipboard.
* Help pages added to the following dialogs with more to follow:

-- Shapefile Importer and
-- Layer Properties dialogs.
* GeoRaptor menu entries renamed. New "Manage All Metadata" entry added to View>GeoRaptor menu.
* Spatial Index creation dialog now supports additional index parameters and parallel build settings.

a. Shows:
 1. Metadata entries which have no underlying oracle object (orphan)
 2. Metadata entries for existing underlying objects (existing case)

b. All orphan/existing/missing colours for (a) can be set via Preferences>GeoRaptor>Visualisation
c. All actions for main (bottom) metadata table are in a single right mouse click menu.
 Some entries will only appear if a single row is selection (metadata copy), others (delete and copy to clipboard) will appear for one or more.
d. Can now switch between open connections to modify metadata of other objects in schemas other than the starting object.
e. Buttons revamped.
* Tab/Shapefile export:
a. Export now supports NULL valued columns. Can be exported as an empty string (if DBase override in GeoRaptor Preferences is ticked) or
 as a predefined value eg NULL date => 1900-01-01 (set in new GeoRatptor Import/Export Preferences).
b. Some work attempted on export of NLS strings (still not corrected).
c. Objects with no rows now correctly processed.

I will admit, I almost never use SQL Developer. I have been a long time Toad user, but for this tool, I fumbled around a bit and got everything up and running quickly.

Bug: Before and After Margins Layout with section starting in right page

Hi,
I am using the Spanish version of Pages 09. I have observed that when I start a new section, I have no problems setting the layout margins (right, left, before, after) of this section.
But if a set that the new section must start in a right page, then the "before" and "after" margins of the layout doesn't work.
Is this the same in English versions of Pages?

I see what you are saying.
The problem is Pages seems to have a memory of how you arrived at that layout.
When I construct the pages, it is correct.
I am trying to find out what is interacting in your layout to cause this to happen. It is like there is a hidden inaccessible layout break on the blank inserted page.
I have been tearing my hair out trying to work out what triggers it off. As I experimented with the combinations of settings in Facing pages, Section layouts and which page it starts on, it erratically switches back and forth.
This is why I gave up on Pages years ago as a serious layout tool. It has too many of these raw, poorly thought out interactions. I use a lot of different applications and none of them, that I can think of, have so many of these mind twisting raw oddities. Odd for a supposed user friendly application.
All the rest are pretty literal, you apply the settings and end up with a logical result of those settings. If the result is not what you wanted it is a matter of tracking what is interacting with what and straightening it out. Pages has the annoying "design" of inexplicably greying out functions for no stated reason, that prevents correction. Or hiding the access to the tools to those settings. You can only get to some of them if you have explicitly done something to make them possible. The rules as to what that "something" is, are not apparent nor in most cases explained in the User Guide or the User Interface.
There may be a "reason" why the function is greyed out but it is not revealed to the user without an enormous amount of detective work and as in this case my sleuthing abilities are failing me completely. I might try it again tomorrow after a rest (it is very late here). Either way it is a huge time waster.
This is fundamentally bad User Interface design and what I have railed against since Apple changed shifts, bringing in the OSX programmers who never really got the polished UI of the original Mac OS and have been cooking with Fanta* ever since.

Sharing an Apple ID for movies/tv shows only?

My husband and I are currently both running iPhones (4 for him, 4S for me) and two brand new iPads. We have separate iCloud accounts and apple IDs because we both had older iPhones before we met.
The only thing we really wish to share is movies/tv shows, as we don't really use the same apps and listen to different music mostly (I rarely download music from iTunes to begin with). I have never downloaded any movies, so in that regard I'm starting fresh, but now that we have the iPads I would like to watch our growing movie collection which is all under his apple ID. I don't mind using his apple ID for everything from the app store/iTunes from now on if it makes things easier, but how can I keep the apps I have already downloaded to my iPad? I don't plan to download any movies to my iPhone and no music will go on the iPad, so I don't mind continuing to purchase music from my own apple ID and using that on my iPhone, and using my husbands apple ID for my iPad, but I have already paid for several apps and I'd rather not lose them, nor do I want his app purchases syncing to my iPad. (I do, however, want app purchases to sync from my iPhone to my iPad.) Is there a way for me to get our movies to my iPad with a computer? Really, what is the simplest way for me to watch our movies without having to use the same apple ID? What do you all recommend for us?
Sub question- is there a way to combine ALL previous purchases (music, apps, movies, tv) on our shared desktop and then select manually what syncs to each device?
This whole not being able to sync more than one Apple ID to a device for 90 days is really killing me. That does apply to apps as well, right?

That actually has very little to do with my original question.
For anyone with the same problem I had, I did eventually make the leap and it turned out to be an easy solution for us. Since I had never bought any movies and rarely buy music (which is oodles more transferrable than movies and tv anyhow) I just started using my husband's account for everything. The issue I was worried I would have- not being able to update apps and such- turned out to be moot, since the updater just prompts me for the password to whichever account the app was originally downloaded under. So never fear, if you decide to use one out of two accounts you will still be able to update apps and not worry about that 90-day switch.
This will become an issue someday when we upgrade our stuff, but at that point I'll probably just bite the bullet and re-purchase any apps I hadn't bought under his ID.

How can I construct a custom PDA dialog?

I need to display a PDA dialog along the lines of "Do you want to save the data, Yes/No?
The two button dialog in LabVIEW is ideal, but on the PDA module you can't set the button text. OK and Cancel don't cut it, as this dialog presents one option at the start of a process. The process continues whether or not you save the data. The cancel button creates the impression that the whole process could be cancelled, not just the file save.
Does anyone know if it's possible to create a custom dialog? Everything I try displays as a full size screen, I have found nothing I can adjust to appear like a pop-up dialog box.
Doas anyone know how this can be done, or is it a non starter?
I'm using LabVIEW and PDA module 8.5 (for Windows mobile, not the Palm version)

Yes it is possible within labVIEW. The principle of creating a popup dialog box is creating a subVI and changing the window appearance to call the front panel with limited options available.
To do this go into the VI properties either in File>>VI properties or Ctrl I. From here go to the window appearance tab and either select dialogue box or custom and then customize the options that you would like.
To ensure that you have a small pop-up and not a full screen I would recommend resizing your subVI front panel whether on manually by dragging or by changing the window size options in the VI properties again. Remember here to have selected the do not show scroll bars in appearance.
When This VI runs now in your program it should call the front panel and then close it again afterwards.
The method above is a generic for labVIEW which I have not tried on a PDA. If you can confirm that you have done the above and are sure that your size settings are correct and it still is not functioning as a proper dialogue box then I will look further into setting it up on your PDA.

How to change value of instance variable and local variable at run time?

As we can change value at run time using debug mode of Eclipse. I want to do this by using a standalone prgram from where I can change the value of a variable at runtime.
Suppose I have a class, say employee like -

i want to change the value of instance variable "name" and local variable "salary" from a stand alone program?
My standalone program will not use employee class; i mean not creating any instance or extending it. This is being used by any other calss in project.

This is the tutorial You should interest in. According to 'name' field of the class, it's value can be change with reflection. I'm not sure if local variable ('salary') can be changed - rather not.
