Regarding How to Register a service in  Service Registry ....?

Hi All ,
i have a doubt , hope i may get some answers form the Expert...!
1) Is there any diffrence between registering a Service in SR and Publishing a Service in SR (SAP PI 7.1)?
2) If yes, then can some one pls provide with some more info or links where i can search ?
Thank you in advance,
Regards,
Aziz khan...!

Hi Aziz,
ServiceRegistry: The Services Registry is a registry for Web services. Located centrally within an SOA landscape, it contains entries for  all services and service definitions in that landscape, with references to the servicesu2019 relevant WSDL metadata and to the locations of the callable service endpoints.
Publishing: By entering the endpoint WSDL of a service definition that provides a valid URL you can publish service definitions to the Services Registry.
From the above definitins i dont think there is any difference between Registering and Publishing.Because Registering in UDDI (service registry ) means giving Acess points to a particular service developed and this process of giving acess to webservices in UDDI is nothing but Publishing.who want to consume then they have to acess those endpoints(action points) through  webservices URL
FYI i have not worked on services on PI7.1 but trying to answer your qurey with little conceptual knolwdge on Webservices in PI7.1.As far as registering the services are concerned please refer the following link and let me see wether its useful in any way ....navigate .

  • How to synchronize PI service registry and IBM WSRR

    Hello All,
In our current project we have developed one web service which resides in SAP CE and is registered in SAP PI Service Registry.
But our client has IBM websphere that acts as a middleware for all ther services (interfaces/web services)
Now, I need to understand how to synchronize SAP PI Service Registry with IBM WSRR (Websphere Services Registry and Repository)
What are the steps/configurations need to be performed at PI end and IBM WSRR end?
Appreciate your help in this matter.

    Hi,
Enterprise Services (ES) bundles are collections of enterprise services, grouped by common business scenarios, which enable customers, partners and independent software developers to extend the functionality of the SAP Business Suite.ES bundles help create composite applications using SAP NetWeaver's enterprise services development and modeling tools. In this way, SAP is promoting an evolutionary path to SOA and lowering barriers to overall SOA adoption.
SAP providing bundles of enterprises for evry industry,if you want to use any enterprise services then you have to read teh documentation for the servcies and how this service can help you to reuse,if you want to provided any extension for the same you can.
All enterprise services stored in Service Registry, first you have to consume the services fromService Regsitry.Service Registry is the place holders where servies available.

    Hi,
It looks like you are missing some Services Registry preconfiguration. Please find a description how to configure the Services Registry under the SAP Help document below:

  • Service registry: WS of ABAP provider not shown (CE 7.2)

    Hi,
my aim: Consume web services of ABAP backend system in NWDS using service registry of CE 7.2.
Those web services should be registered automatically to the service registry when created in ABAP backend system.
    What I've done:
    1. Created ABAP backend system as provider system (when doing a PING it shows me the two services I would like to consume) in SOA configuration ->System connection.
    2. Added ABAP backend system in services registry as Physical System in http://<hostname>:<port>/sr.
What do I have to do else to be able to consume web services in NWDS (import WSDL -> Service registry)?

    Hi Srikishan,
unfortunately your link only shows how to import services from service registry, but not how to configure the service registry to automatically list web services of all provider systems.
    One question to be answered:
Do I have to publish the web services of the ABAP backend system manually in service registry (by giving URL of WSDL) or is there a way that all services of this system are listed automatically?
    Thanks in advance.

FW/1 (an MVC framework with REST capabilities)
ColdBox (an MVC framework with REST capabilities)
