Regarding ibot implementation in obiee 11g

Hi All,
i followed some links to configure ibots .
when i run it i get the error shown below.
AgentID: /users/weblogic/test_ibot
Invalid subscribers skipped: weblogic AgentID: /users/weblogic/test_ibot
Device (dashboard) is not set in (weblogic) delivery profile.
AgentID: /users/weblogic/test_ibot
[nQSError: 75005] Failed to send AUTH command. 5.7.3 Authentication unsuccessful.
please help me to solve this problem.

Userid and password that we use to connect to the SMTP server - in short ex- Microsoft Outlook
You may check this with your admin - if uid and pwd is really required to connect to your smtp - if not then like i said earlier- just follow the 2nd step from that blog.
Whenever you do a change in em - restart the BI services and test.

Hi All,
I have a requirement in OBIEE 11g to implement SSO for the users. The actual requirement is that OBIEE should be able to authenticate users when they access the OBIEE URL through windows authentication credentials that they have used to log in into their machine.
Please let me know if this can be achieved and if so what are all the configuration changes that has to be made for this to work.
Any pointers on this will be highly helpful.

Has anyone verified this with Oracle?
The documentation would suggest otherwise (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14571_01/bi.1111/e10543/sso.htm) - but I've yet to try to make it work on 11g.
Would be nice to know if it is at all possible (without having to install a separate IIS server to host it) before embarking on the setup.... :-S

Regarding print option in obiee 11g

i am getting one issue when using print pdf option in obiee 11g.
i have a report in dashboard and for displaying data in that report i have used custom format of columns.
but when i an using print pdf option , it is not retaining custom format of columns of report.
please suggest any workaround to me for this problem.

I think it is expected behavior. Try out saving as html and then saving it as pdf.

Write Back implementation in OBIEE 11G

i have created new table for implemetation of write back using obiee 11g.
i have finished confirutation for that.but i am getting " THE SYSTEM NOT ABLE TO READ THE WRITE BACK TEMPLATE.PLEASE contact your system administrator.

You must use '' at script when call some column value. (use '@1' instead of @1)
Tip.. note you can use your "WebMessage Name" (from your script, like "filling", "machine_filing") into your analisys.

the presentation services starting again and again.when i login it the services goes down and then automattically started.

I will give you some inputs.
Before doing anything take backup please --- Don't' forgot.
First of all kill all the obiee related services and clear the logs also then start the all services newly.
If still the problem present please check your logs and post the error in the blog, will try to help you.
I have faced similar issue long back, I have followed same thing it's working fine.

Deliver data to external web service possible in OBIEE 11g?

Hi all,
I'm looking into the possibility of "pushing" data from OBIEE and out to an external web service, e.g. through executing a scheduled report that instead of delivering the result on screen, it would call an external web service that would consume the generated data for storage in an external system.
Does anyone know if this is possible to implement in OBIEE 11g? (So far, all I've found is how to display data in OBIEE through consumation of web service(s), but I'd like to "push out" data to a web service from OBIEE).

Weird behaviour of OBIEE 11g hierarchy columns

Hi,
I'm facing this weird issue when i implement the OBIEE 11g new feature called hierarchy column.The issue is that the last value in the hierarchy is reporting
Example
Store Heir-achy
->Store Country
->Store City
->Store name
->Store Name
->Store name (And the level goes on and on).
I don't know why this weird thing is happening.Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the response, in regards to whether it is 1 or 2 Logical Facts, it is still the same behaviour. IN regards to the Logical Dimension, yes it is set with two LTS with the applicable content levels set. I even tried that as just 1 LTS doing the join through the General tab. Still the same behaviour with the drill-down. I am assuming it will always go through the full drill path regardless of what level the Fact you are hitting is at.

To Change Login Image in OBIEE 11g:
We have to keep the image in this path and control of length,height,color resides in login.css file which is present in the same path.

To Change Images in reports in OBIEE 11g:

To Change the Top Image:

No need to restart the services,just clear the cache and reload files and metadata.

Freeze panes in OBIEE 11g

Hi All,
Glad to post regarding Freezing panes in OBIEE 11g.
Since this has got most hits in the search.
I searched a quite few websites like replies from BI Joe and few others. But couldnt resolve this.
Would be great help for all those who are looking for workaround regarding the same.
Also - another feature likely in 11.1.1.6 - freeze panes for rows and columns :-). But need it in 11.1.5

Auto start BI Services for OBIEE 11G

Hi,
We have installed OBIEE 11.1.1.7 on Windows 2008 64 bit operating system and we have restarted the server after successful install.
Now the issue is OBIEE is not accessible after reboot,it is running only if i run the Start BI Services under All Programs --> Oracle Business Intelligence --> Start BI Services and
this not accessible once i log off from the server.
I don't want very time login and start the obiee using all programs,instead i want to install a Windows service that will all run the BI Services,so that Users can access the OBIEE independent of
my login.
I tried many times installing the services for Admin and BI Server but even though the services are install/running successfully,but still not able to access the OBIEE URL.

We have a table location which contains data like

1,INDIA,KARNATAKA,BANGALORE

Hierarchy is defined on COUNTRY, STATE and CITY.
First we want to display the data as

After clicking on INDIA it should drill down to state level

STATE-------------STATE----------------STATE----------STATE

After clicking on the state level it should further drill down to

guys I found a work around for this problem, I made a logical column and i used the this expression:
"ALM"."Dim Product"."LEVEL_16_NAME" || ' - ' || "ALM"."Dim Product"."LEVEL_16_CODE" , these two columns contains the desc. and the code for the product
and then I made this column as a key and in the display columns.
it works as i want but still considered a work around.

Implement "Act As" in OBIEE 11g

I am trying to implement the 'Act As' in OBIEE 11g using the same xml template that I used to implement the same in OBIEE 10g.
But whenever I am providing the "Target USer" an error message pops up saying " *Invalid XML Payload: XML document must have a top level element.*"

after migration from 10 to 11 act is working but only sometimes.
Sometimes the authentication with the user is refused.
Is there a timeout parameter?

OBIEE 11g Ibots not working properly after Upgrade

Hi ,
We are currently upgrading our BI enviroment from 10g to 11g.
WHile we are configuring Ibots ,they really doesnt work, it gives the below error.
Eventually succeeded, but encountered and resolved errors...
Number of skipped recipients: 1 of 3
AgentID: /shared/test12
[nQSError: 75006] Failed to send MAIL command. 5.7.1 Client does not have permissions to send as this sender AgentID: /shared/test12
...Trying SMTP Delivery loop again... Sleeping for 5 seconds. AgentID: /shared/
Can any one give us the exact steps to configure ,or if im missing something....we have configured everything in the deployment of the Coreapplication in the business intelligence of the weblogic admin.
