When installing a particular object in business content,an error msg was displayed like
the object is not in delivered version.
what is this?and how to solve this?

Hi,
Open the Control Panel and select Programs and Features.
Click on "View Installed Updates" and type 2918614.
Locate and uninstall KB2918614, then try reinstalling the HP software and check for any difference.

I need help regarding installation of Netweaver. When ever i am running setup.exe, i am getting a page asking for local host and port number as 21212. When I enter my local host name and the port number as 21200 i am getting the error message given below and the installation stops. I am not able to proceed further. can any one help me what i need to do here. I created MS lookupadapter and entered my static ip address in 'host' file after 127.0.0.1 localhost and i disabled port number 3201 in system file. I verified system variables also. Everything is fine. I dont have firewall or antivirus installed in my system. Is there any thing else i need to do. please help me. Thanks in advance.

Run the sapinst.exe with the port 21212.This port 21212 is the default port used during the installation of netweaver.

Regarding Installation Of SOA suite

I am trying to install Oracle SOA suite 10.1.3.1. Can i possible to use the R12 EBS suite db connection details for configuring SOA suite? or It requires a separate 10g db?

is it possible to install only some parts of SOA Suite, not the all available? For instance, I need BPEL and Business Rules, and thats it. So I wonder if somehow I can omit installation of other components.No with 11g release it won't be possible but logical grouping can be done while creating the domain by selecting appropriate template. I mean if you want to create a SOA domain only then do not select the BAM or BPM options and domain would not have those functionalities. Similarly if you need a BAM only domain then select BAM template only while creating the domain.

When I was cleaning my email account i noticed message from OTN forum. I forgot to reply :/
I followed instructions from the message above and it worked. Oracle XE + PPRD (only forms to save disk space and RAM) + weblogic, i have also installed APEX 3.2.1. It all works at my win 7 system
There where one bug in forms builder database connector, solution was to replace it with the file from SQL*Plus (AFAIR it was tnsnames.ora file)
So thank you Chris999, you helped me a lot.

I have downloaded Oracle 11G R2 version from Windows and extracted it in Windows and copied it into DVD after extraction in two folders. Now I am mounting that DVD in Solaris 10 installed in my VMware . I made a new directory named as 'installation ' under /export/home/oracle and copied the folders from DVD to 'installation' folder. Now I am entering installation folder and try to do ./runInstaller as 'oracle ' user and getting the error mentioned before.

Help regarding installer

hello everyone!!!
i want to distribute my java application.
I have created an installer using INSTALL ANYWHERE.
Problem is it is not working!!!
What I have done is I have added all my class files in it and given the class file which needs to be executed first.
It creates an installer but after installation the program is not running.
Initially it was working on localhost only .
After re-installation it has stopped working on localhost also.
I don't know what is the problem..
I have also tried to create a jar file and then instead of adding all class files I added jar.
But still it is not working.
Pls help me.
Is there anyother way to distribute my java application.

Create a jar with a manifest.

In the manifest you must specify the main class.
This will be easy to distribute, no installation, no mess, just java installed.

Doubts regarding Installation of OAS 10.1.3.3 cluster

Hi,
I am a beginner with respect to OAS. I need to install OAS 10.1.3.3 clusters(two nodes) in OEL 5.
Is it essential to install OAS Infrastructure (Identity Management and Repository) for configuring Clustered OAS?
Also while I install OAS should I configure both the instances as "Configure this is an administrative OC4J instance" ? In the Oracle documentation they have recommended configuring only one of them as administrative OC4J instance?
Also is it necessary to have both the instances with the same name ? This is also recommended by Oracle.
As I proceed with the installation there is an option asking for "Configure this instance as part of an Oracle Application Server Topology". Also it asks for OAS cluster discovery address ? Is this address a specific address or a random multicast address shared by the servers?

These two instances are not clustered . One instance in this machine is clustered with an instance of another machine.
I've installed another OAS 10.1.3.1 in the same machine to support a different environment since the server had good amount of memory, disk space and processor speed to support two servers.
I did check Apache logs but there was no error.

be installed against 9i ?Only the name changed, not the software ;). Same rules apply, minimum requirement is 9.2.0.3 (better to use at least 9.2.0.4).

Question regarding installation

Installed LiveType as part of my Final Cut Express HD upgrade and was wondering if I do the installation the regular way if all the content gets installed because it just seems like I should have more Livefonts, textures, objects and so on than I do.

Yes Chris, almost certainly. The full install is not a default as it takes up so much space. What usually happens is that the installation only gives you the sample versions and then you install the full fonts etc when you need them, that's why they are all on the separate data disks. As you know, DV needs massive storage availability, so you don't need 9GB of unused data taking it away from you. If you look in the Live Type media browser you can see the different categories displayed in the drop down menu, for the fonts, textures etc. There should be 27 LiveFonts, 9 categories of Textures with varying numbers of textures in each and 7 categories of Objects, again with varying numbers in each. The Effects should all have been loaded automatically and there should be 12 categories, once again with varying numbers in each.
If you haven't got all of these, even in sample form, then your installation has not been done properly and you need to re-install. Make sure that you have the two Live Type data discs too.

Adobe won't return my emails regarding installation problems

I have CS3 for Mac, an upgrade version. I recently had many problems with a 4 month old iMac. Apple took it back and gave me a new one.
I cannot install the CS3 and get it to work because it is looking for an older version of Photoshop to upgrade. I no longer have the old disc.
I have sent emails ("Contact Us, Ha Ha"), three or four time over the last ten days.
No response.
Quark responded. Got that working again.
But nothing from Adobe.
Now what am I supposed to do?

I had this problem with Quark Xpress and CS3.
Both were upgrades.
When my new Imac arrived, I had the upgrade discs, but not the original discs from years ago.
Quark and CS3 upgrades looked for the old software to upgrade, couldn't find it and wouldn't activate.
I got through to Quark, and they sent me a link that let me activate their software. It's up and running fine.
I imagine the same procedure would apply with Adobe. I have the disc and the serial number. But Adobe has refused to answer any of my emails.
Is there a way of getting through to them that you know of?

Regarding installation and configuring sun cluster 3.2

Can any provide me the correct hardware and software configurations required for two node cluster for acheiving failover.
We have A1000 hardware configured with Raid 5. Does this suit our requirement.
I want some clarifications on
1) Configuring the solaris volume manager for creating diskset. or registering disk group. Since this requires state database replicas, these should be created on local disks or shared disk.
2) creating cluster file system. What is the diffrernce between global namespace and cluster file system.

Both nodes should need at least have
- 4 network Interfaces,
--- 2 for the Public Interface
--- 2 for the Interconnects (each a dedicated cable or VLan!)
- 2 Disk to mirror the Operating System
- Some shared storage (i have no experience with the A1000 we use SAN, but i guess it should be ok)
- Configure LVM to have its metadbs on both Disks for the metaset 0 (the mirrored root disk), set the mirrored_root_flag in /etc/system
- LVM takes itself care of the metadbs for the disk sets, they are placed on slice 7 of the member (shared) disks
global name space means you have a unic identifier (DID) for each disk, cd and tape device in the cluster. This avoids problems like a SAN disk connected to controller 3 on one node and controller 5 on the other one.
global devices provide simultaneous access to all storage devices from all nodes, regardless where the storage is physically attached.
the global file system makes file systems simultaneously available on all nodes, regardless of their physical location
