    Hi Prasad!
    If u want to Create a iview from the par file means Goto Content administration > Portal Content > Right Click Create a floder.After Creation of Folder.
    Right Click on Folder > Click on iview then select the following option
    >> Portal component - create an iView from a portal component contained in a deployed portal archive (PAR)
    then Select the par file , then fill general iview properties and finally click finish.
    If you want to upload into portal, then u follow the below Navigation.
    After u deployed ur Application par file from NWDS.
    Open the Portal Goto System Administartion > Support > Click on Portal Runtime >Administration Console, then Browse the Par file and click on upload.
    Next time onwards u can able to see ur par file in the PAR file list , while creating the iview from the PAR file.

    Please update me step by step procedure on how to create a iview for a bw query in portal
    Thanks

    Hi
    Integrate EP to BI
    1. You have to create a BW system in portal.
    2. create a SAP BW Report iView from the iview templates available
    3. specify the query string in the iview properties

  • Producer portal iviews are not rendered on Consumer portal.

    Hello People,
    We are currently in the process of upgrading our portal from EP7.4 SP03 to EP 7.4 SP07.
    There are some remote iviews that we take from another portal.
    These remote role assignment iviews do not open and no reports open assigned with them giving us the below error:
    Could not open iView. The iView is not compatible with your browser,
    operating system, or device. Contact your system administrator for more
    information
    These iviews work with IE9,IE11 but not with Chrome on the Consumer portal
    These iVIews are rendering on the Producer portal (EP7.0) but not on the Consumer,newer version.
    The issue with the remote iViews is only on Chrome. I did not find any SAP note or patch that can help with the compatibility for Chrome.
    Does anyone has idea regarding this?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Deep

    Hi All,
    After some discussions with SAP support, we got a response saying that currently Chrome browser is not supported for Producer portal reports (See SAP Note 1655306 - Google Chrome for end
    users and administrators).
    Hence, we need to continue using only IE for such cases.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • W2 Forms availability on Portal

    Hi All,
    We are implementing SAP HR, Payroll along with Portal with ESS/MSS.
    We have a trouble around making W2 Forms available in Portal.
    There is no standard functionality available to make W2 Forms available over Portal.
    Std SAP Process for W2 is workflow based W2 Reprint application which goes to HR of the Org Unit.
    But we have a requirement that W2 should be available to employees directly on Portal in ESS for viewing and printing.
    Can any one suggest solution, how this can be done?
    Thanking in you in anticipation.
    Regards,
    Rajesh

    Hello,
    You can find the application under
    Personnel Management->Employee Self-Service->Service-Specific
    Settings->Benefits and Payment->W-2 Reprint-> Maintain Address Subtype.
    Please have a look over the note 953877.
    The W2 reprint ESS service is just a workflow that allows employees to
    ask for a W2 reprint. This service will only initiate the Workflow and
    then send out a Workflow item to the Business Workplace Inbox of the
    employee's HR Administrator.
    The HR Admin then executes this item to display and print the W2 reprint
    which is then mailed/sent to the employee. Note 1072770 was released to
    enable HR admin to take a PDF print of the W2 print based on correct
    configuration.

  • Replace an iView dynamically by another one by portal navigation service

    Hi all,
    A portal page to integrate several kinds of contents is in general the best way.
    But how can you handle dynamic replacement of an iView of a page (the page contains more than one iView) by another one by using the Portal navigation service? If I navigate to the target application with mode WDPortalNavigationMode.SHOW_INPLACE, the content of the page at all is replaced by the target iView. Is there a possibility to access/replace only the desired iView of the page?
    Thanks.

  • Issue regarding Cognos 82 Business Package iviews on SAP NW 7.0 Portal

    Hello,
    We have recently deployed Cognos business package (com.cognos.cognos82.epa) in NW 7.0 and followed the documentation provided by Cognos (i.e. Installing and Configuring Cognos8 on a SAP Portal). When testing the Cognos iView, we are getting the following error message:
    =======================================================
    Unable to process the request.
    CPS-CCM-1204 The method "initCookie" of the Markup interface failed.
    A more detailed description of the error that occurred can be found in the log.
    =======================================================
    Has anyone run into this error before?
    Another Question: Do we have to define a Cognos System in Portal Landscape? (This was not mentioned in the documentation!)
    Any help on this would be very much appreciated and also I will provide points.  Please help me on this
    With Regards,
    Sudheer

    Hello Sudheer,
    Get Cognos to provide you the documentation on "Enabling Single Signon with Cognos8..."
    In addition to importing the Cognos business package, you need to setup a SSO between Cognos and Portal.  so, your Cognos support should be able to provide you documentation on setting up SSO.
    hope this helps.
    regards,
    Harman

  • Web Page Composer: making iViews available in Portal Repository tab

    Hello experts.
    I'm trying to make some content (banners, images, iviews) for WPC (in SAP EP 7.4) and I cannot find any information how to add an iView to the Portal Repository (see the image). It says 'The contents of this repository are defined by your portal administrator', but I cannot find any documents describing the procedure. Any ideas?
    Best regards,
    Timur Semenchuk.

    Hi,
    In portal Content administration ->Portal Content ->Portal users -> WPC Authors ->Area Management role -> Content Editor , set the highlighted properties as shown in screen-shot below.

  • Hide iView when no contents available.

    Hi All,
    I have an iView which has certain contents from the KM. The iView is a JSP Dynpage portal application  which reads the KM and shows some links.(for eg. docs, ecternal links, etc.)
    The requirement is such that if no content is available in the iView, the iView along with its tray should be hidden. This should happen at runtime only.
    Is there any possible way of achieving this.
    Regards,
    Melwyn.

    Hi SDNers,
    I managed to solve the above error and my remove functionality is working fine.
    However i am also trying to add the iView to the page dynamically if content is available.
    My question is : Is it possible to write the addiView() functionality if content exists and the removeiView() functionality if content does not exist in the same JSP Dynpage ?
    I tried creating 2 JSPDynpage applications, 'Add View' for the addiView() functionality and the other 'Hide View' for the removeiView() functionality. I added the 'Add View' iview to Page A and the 'Hide View' app to Page B.
    In the 'Hide View' app i am checking if content exists or not.
    ie. if the 'Hide View' property "TextValue" contains the value "X' or not. If "X" 'Hide View' app should be hidden else shown.
    Upon excecution when i supply the value "X" to TextValue the iView 'Hide View' is hidden when i launch Page B. Now when i change the value to any string other than "X" and select the Page A whose task is to add the iView it throws a OperationFailedException saying that the 'Target object already exists'.
    When i navigate to Page B i am unable to see the 'Hide View' app.

         java.util.Hashtable env = new java.util.Hashtable();

         IiView myIView = null;

         Object currentObject = iCtx.lookup("portal_content/com.test.portal.Demo_test/com.test.articles/com.test.PageB/com.test.HideView");
         if (currentObject instanceof IiView)
         myIView = (IiView) currentObject;
         else
         IPage myPage = (IPage) iCtx.lookup("portal_content/com.test.portal.Demo_test/com.test.articles/com.test.PageB");
         myPage.removeiView("com.test.HideView");

         response.write(e.getMessage()+e.getClass());
         StackTraceElement[] elements = e.getStackTrace();

    Could someone please provide a solution..

  • Regarding iViews

    Hi,
    I have the following doubts to be cleared.It would be of great help if someone knows abt these and revert back ASAP.
    1) How many iViews currently exist? Is there a directory of available iViews?
    2) Is SAP planning to provide today's iView functionality as JSR-168/WSRP portlets together with the new release (or later)?
    3) Would it make sense to create JSR-168/WSRP portlets by reusing existing iViews? I.e. is the iView Java code customizable? Would that be a feasible approach in order to provide iView-like functionality through JSR-168 or WSRP portlets?
    4)Any other alternatives to expose iView-like functionality through a non-SAP portal? If so, what would that look like?
    Providing links to support the answers will be of great help as this is being considered for a brainstorming.
    Regards.....

    Thanks a lot Detlev,
    But I have a few doubts.
    On my Question 1
    ================
    Since I am quite new to this technology,can you tell me where is this 'Content Development->Portal Development' part?
    Is it in this site itself of a part of market place?
    On my Question 2
    ================
    I found a ppt from the net which said the following
    Support of JSR 168 (planned for NW ‘05)
    SAP Enterprise Portal will support JSR 168:
    SAP Enterprise Portal will support JSR 168 container
    SAP Enterprise Portal will allow the integration of content packages with JSR 168 compliant content coming from 3rd party vendors
    JSR 168 portlets will be normal objects in the portal content catalogue and thereby will be accessible through SAP Enterprise Portal administration tool (e.g. Portal Content Studio)
    Some restrictions will apply (e.g. server side eventing will not be supported for JSR 168 portlets in SAP Enterprise Portal)
    SAP Development Environment will allow the import of JSR 168 compliant content
    Benefits of JSR 168 support:
    Reduces customer‘s costs for training of developers / no vendor-specific training necessary
    Facilitates development of portal content
    “Develop once, run anywhere!“
    Support of WSRP (planned for NW ’05)
    SAP Enterprise Portal will support WSRP:
    SAP Enterprise Portal will support WSRP consumer and producer
    SAP Enterprise Portal will allow easy integration of WSRP compliant content (consumer)
    SAP Enterprise Portal will allow to expose iViews compliant to WSRP (producer)
    Some restrictions will apply (e.g. whole Business Packages will not be exposable)
    Benefits of WSRP support:
    Facilitates implementation of global scenarios:
    Doesn't the above statements mean that SAP portal's iViews will support JSR-168 and WSRP in the next release of Netweaver??
    On my Question 3
    ================
    What I meant to ask was that,if I need to use existing iViews as it is,with the JSR-168 and WSRP support,what all changes should I be doing? Or it really feasible??
    Thanks and Regards........
