Regarding JTAPI Applications

hi All,
First of all I would like to apologise for my previous post for JTAPI support. I went through the final release JTAPI 1.4 and found that in this specification, J2EE is also going to be supported.
Now I am working for an application which will use JTAPI 1.4 api and will talk to TAPI interface in a PBX system connected to a Windows 2000 server. The application should be a module under JBoss App Server.
I am looking out for the feasibility of this application. Also, I am looking for the software and hardware dependencies for this application from a service provider or third-party tool.
I searched the net and could not find any useful information for such an application setup. Can anyone help me by giving some basic ideas and links or anyone has already done such a project?

Question regarding ASO application in Essbase 11 version

I have a question regarding the ASO applications for telecom company built in Essbase 11 version. Please provide your feedback on the design.
The ASO application has the following number of Dimensions:

The data is mostly sparse. Does this design yield a good performance. Should I change some of the attributes to UDAs to increase the performance.I think Attribute dimensions are more flexible than UDAs but it affects the performance of the retrieval.

In ASO attribute dimensions are treated like regular dimensions, That is to say they are materalized just like a regular dimension. Changing them to UDA's won't buy you the same performance as having them as dimensions will. The one nice thing about Attributes in ASO cubes (and BSO cubes) is you don't clutter us the screen with dimensions that are not used a lot. If your attrubite dimensions are used often in your ASO cube, there would be no performance difference if you made them regular dimensions.

Query regarding converting application tier (concurrent and reports) into shared APPL_TOP

Our E-business suite production server has four nodes configuration. 1. Application Nodes: APP1 , APP2 (Web and forms services are running on these two nodes) 2. Database Nodes: DB1, DB2 (DB-SRV - common name) (SAN storage with Active/Passive OS cluster configuration) Also the concurrent and reports services are running here.
Currently, the APP1 and APP2 application files are configured in shared APPL_TOP. It is not enabled for concurrent and reports services which is running along with database. I already checked the metalink doc id for the same.
I'm expecting your suggestion that we should take care while enabling the shared APPL_TOP for concurrent node+reports.
It would be also great, if any one give rough outline plan for the same.

Below is my plan to add the conc admin and reports server to the shared appl_top.
1. Run adpreclone.pl appsTier on the conc admin node. i.e. run adpreclone in node DB-SRV
2. Verify and enable context variable s_isAdConc, s_isAdConcDev context variables.
3. Mount the node-App1 application file system to node DB-SRV.
4. Copy the existing .rdf files(located in DB-SRV) to the shared appl_top.
5. Then run autoconfig on DB-SRV.
Can anyone review and let me know, if something is wrong here or need to be modified?

Very big difference with respect to training and skills
And Oracle DBA needs to know $ORACLE_BASE and $ORACLE_HOME.
An Apps DBA needs to be familiar with these plus $APPL_TOP, $COMN_TOP, $PROD_TOP, and much much more including Application Servers, JAR files, EAR files, and, again, much much more.

Hi ,
You can have sourcing active for Classic Scenario. If the Product category is defined for sourcing it lands in sourcing cockpit where the purchaser has the choice of adding values and then the resulting PO created will be a Backend PO. PO is created in backend system.

Regarding BI Applications flow

Hi Gurus,
I am at the point that i have installed BI Applications, integrated DAC with informatica and i am able to run few ETLs using Universal Adaptors, Everything is running fine, when i login to presentation services all the dashboards are null obviously because my warehouse is empty.
Now i want to know the approach at a very high level as to how to proceed (start - end) if i want to explore the purpose of pre-built dashbaords and pre-built reports subject area wise provided out of the box by oracle, i dont see any supporting documentation explaining the subject areas, dashboards and reports from presentation services perspective, please direct me to any of links or docs avaialble.

No, i didnot get any answer. i think doing self exploration taking one subject area and re-engineering back to Presentation Layer, BMM and Physical Layer can help us understand. I couldnt find any docs related to this. "Configuration guide for Informatica Power center Users" in OBIA documentation helps in setting up but doesnt much about pre-built stuff.

E-Recruiting : Regarding Internal applications & offer letters

Dear Experts,
I have a few clarifications & some client requirements that i need help on. Pls provide your inputs regarding the same :
1) What is the purpose of internal candidates applying for jobs? Can they be selected for a position even though they already hold a position in the company? Is the data transferred from eRecruiting to ECC in such a case like new hires? I would liek to know what is the end result of an internal application?
2) Can an external applicant change his application details once he has submitted his application in the application wizard? If so, how can he do it. I coule not open the application wizard once the application is submitted.
3) Can the search for candidates be somehow restricted that already hired applicants are not displayed in the list? Can it be restricted based on some custom criteris like blacklisting of candidates etc?How can we ensure that TREX does not display the relevant NA objects? Locking & Releasing of profiles will not suit as the candidates also themselves can change this
4)Client would like to keep a track of the offer letters sent to a candidate & serialise this. For Eg: They would want to track the number of offers sent to the candidate & should be able to come back to a particular offer letter & reprint it again. The multiple versions of offer letters would into picture if the hiring date is changed etc.
5) Is it possible to print multiple copies of the offer letter at one time?
Your inputs & ideas on any of the above points will be much appreciated.

some more details to the questions you asked:
Question 1:
There are different strategies and processes how employees develop within a company but for most of them the development includes an organizational change at a certain point as you can hardly reshape the position character all the time arount the expectations and abilities of an employee. One of these strategies is succession planning combined with personal development. The hr organization and the management define a development plan for and with an employee train him to use his full potential than just let him rot where he was once hired. This is in the interest of the company and the employee. But succession planning is a business which requires a lot of effort and so it is usually only done with a certain level / group of employees.
Another way is to allow the employees to develop by applying for a job if they think it is a chance to improve and build their talents. In many companies there are even regulations that a new position or a position which needs a successor has to be offered to the employees first before hr is allowed to start looking for an external candidate.
So hr publishes a new position like a team lead for a production area and every worker from the area or even from other devisions can apply. The go through the process af candidate evaluation and if one employee fullfills the requrements he moves in the organization. Technically this is usually an organizational change. A special version of this startegy of internal hiring can be found in reshaping companies which go through a complete restructuring. I have done projects where e-recruiting is just used that every employee from the old organization finds his new chair in the organization. In these cases it is much easier to just let people apply for the position they want instead of trying to plan the move of 10k employees.
The data for such an internal hiring is only partly transfered to the ECC system. It already has the employees data so only the new position and the date of change have to be transfered if not the hr admins enter it directly in the ECC.
Question 2:
In the current state of sap e-recruiting which ist E-Recruiting 603 (which means e-recruiting 600 plus EhP3) the candidate can not change the application related data he entered after submitting the application, but he can chang his profile data by logging into his startpage. The application related data which can not be changed include the cover letter and the application source. Everything else belongs to the profile therefore is not apllication dependent and can be changed.
Question 3:
The search for candidates finds candidates which released their profile only as they agreed to be checked on other positions than the ones the originally applied for.
If a candidate is hired he is changed from external to internal and the profile of internal candidates is locked by defauled. Same way for cnadidates you want to exclude from search as long as he does not rerelese the profile. Their profile can be locked by a recruiter creating a status change for it. To track the evaluation of the candidate there are ranking and questionaire activities which can be included in the search.
Question 4:
Changed letters are serealized but the parts which are not in the editable letter section depend on the smartform as do unchanged letters. You will probably not be able to use e-recruiting as records managemet for offer letters. In addition due to the restrictions of the letter change most projects I have been working in only create the first page from e-recruiting while the contract itself is done outside the system.
Question 5:
You can hit the print button several times every thing else requires modification or customer development.

Regarding MI applications on laptop

The organization is moving from non SAP system to SAP for its work order management process.
Currently there are field tool applications in VB which have databases around 5 GB and lot of features like map viewing, rich User interface etc.
Can I support such a functionality in SAP mobile infrastructure.
As the client device is a rugged laptop, memory constraints are not an issue.

What is the max volume (in terms of GB) that they can grow to.
Are the above mentioned databases footprint databases or is there any possibility for a full fledge database ( query processor and stuff like that) in these databases

Source application is the application from where the templates will be copied into the new application. Every application has few inbuilt templates (for reports, input schedules, DM packages, etc). These objects are copied from the source application to the newly created application.
Application type determines what is the purpose of your application. Whether is should be a reporting or non-reporting type? Whether the purpose is to do planning or consolidation? You will get more information on this from the below link from help.sap:
